Linking to new page from BLOB image in report

Hi Guys,
I have added an image to my report using the number/Date format field IMAGE:CITIES:CTY_PHOTO:CTY_NR::::::inline:Download. This works great! :)
I know want the user to click on the image and go to the next page, setting the city code that was selected.
If I try to add the Column Link Link Text in the usual way I get an error:
report error:
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character to number conversion error
Any ideas?

I'm a bit confused - I'm using Safari on my iMac and MacBook, both with OS 10.4.10, and want to open google links in new pages. This works fine on the MacBook, but not the iMac, even though I've checked the box "Open links from applications in a new window".
Do you think I need to reset Safari in some way?

That preference setting refers to opening links from other applications in a new window. For example, if you click on a link in a Word file displayed by Microsoft Word, or in an email displayed in the program Mail, the link will open in a new window in Safari.
To see the shortcuts for opening a link from a web page (e.g. Google) in a new window, go to Safari > Preferences, click on the Tabs section, and read the Command-key shortcuts listed at the bottom of the window. Exactly what those shortcuts are depends on your settings in the checkboxes above. (To see the difference, change some of the settings in the checkboxes and watch the shortcuts below change.)
I'm not sure what the difference is between the settings on your two Macs. I'd go over the preference settings to get an idea of why they're behaving differently.

New page from template

When I try to create a new page via File>New>Page from Template, I get the error message saying it is nested inside itself. How do I get around this?

I CAN'T GET THE "WHATS NEW" PAGE FROM COMMING UP FIRST. I CHANGED THE HOME PAGE IN THE PREFERENCES, IT DIDN'T HELP...

I CAN'T GET THE "WHATS NEW" PAGE FROM COMING UP FIRST. I CHANGED THE HOME PAGE IN THE "GENERAL SETTING" IN PREFERNCES, I RESTORED THE "DEFAULT HOME PAGE" NOTHING HELPS.
IF I CLICK IN ANY WEB LINK THE "WHATS NEW " PAGE KEEPS COMING UP FIRST. I THEN HAVE TO "X" IT OUT AND RE-CLICK ON THE WEB LINK FOR IT TO RELOAD. I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING. WHAT THE HELL AM I DOING WRONG?

Create new page from template

I created a page, and saved it as a template. I want to
create a new page from the template (creating more pages for the
same website). When I select file > new > page from template,
the list contains <no sites>.
How do I get the page and / or template I already created to
be in a "site" so it shows up on the list. Couldn't find this in
the help file.

So where is the correct location?
I created the folder for this site when I first created the
html page. This is the folder I mentioned. This site folder was
created inside the Documents folder, I believe by default.
As I mentioned, on the first try, I just let it save the
template to this same site folder, which is what it suggested by
default, and it has been there ever since.
I only created my own "templates" folder as an experiment
after your first suggestion. I have now renamed it "Templates"
(upper case T) and the template is still not found with File >
New> Page from Template.
Sorry I am not sure if I understand exactly what you mean by
"A folder in the root of the "local site folder"". Is this the same
as or different from the site folder I created and saved the html,
css, and image files to? (which is in Documents) If different,
where can I find it?
I searched my system for ALL folders named Templates, and
found none that I believe could be associated with DW. Is this in
appdata or hidden location?

You can download the trial version (http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-downloads.html) to convert the PDF back to WORD if you do not have the original. The conversion may not be perfect, but it is typically better than starting from scratch. You may be lucky and get a good result. You might check the settings (in the save screen) to try retain format versus retain text flow. The format version can be a pain to edit since it creates a bunch of text boxes. The flow version may require you to reformat in WORD, but you likely would want to do that anyway.

IPhone Safari doesn't open links in new page

Under iPhone Safari Settings, I've got it set to Open Links In New Page, but when I click on links in Safari, that doesn't happen. When I set it to Open Links In Background, that doesn't happen either. Links open in the same page no matter what the setting.
Anyone know how this can be fixed? Thanks.

It depends on the website. Some websites have it set up to take you to a new tab, some do it in the same tab.

You can fill a smart shape with the image using the Texture button, but beware: choose a shape with the same size as the image. Maybe Sreekanth is telling the same, but I didn't get his 'assign custom image to it'? And if you want to have a pause for a shape button, you have to check it in the Timing accordion.
Another approach is to put a click box on top of the image. You can open the URL in another window using the small triangle drop down list, and be sure to uncheck Continue Project to avoid that the playhead will continue.

Figured oout that I had restricted deletions of programs.
Settings->General->Restrictions-> (enter your passcode), Turn Deleting Apps ON
Afterward holding an icon until it jiggles will produce the X delete button.
You might want to turn Delete apps OFF after cleaning up.

Editable regions in templates. How do I edit the CSS in a new page from the template?

I am new to Dreamweaver and Web design. I have made a template and have two editable regions they work fine. When I create a page from this template, I can't edit the CSS. How to open a new page from a Spry Table click, with element info?

Hello, Spry experts!
This is probably simple, but I've searched for hours and can't find what I need. I'm using Dreamweaver CS4 and Spry 1.6.1 to create a simple Spry Table from an XML data set using PHP as my back end. I've used Dreamweaver's Insert->Spry->Spry Data Set to create everything, and the table is working fine. Colors, clicks, sorts, etc., are all working correctly as expected.
What I want is to be able to add a behavior such that when a table row is clicked, I can open a new page. Moreover, I want to pass a parameter from the table to the new page, like http://www.mydomain.com/newpage.php?aid=12345 or whatever.
So, for example, my table has two columns, "a_id" and "a_name", and my repeat region looks like this:

What I want is to be able to open an entirely new URL, passing the value of the {a_id} in the selected row as a parameter to the new URL, as in something like: http://www.mydomain.com/newpage.php?aid={a_id}
So my questions are:
1. How best to apply the action to the table? Add an onclick to the tr tag? Something else?
2. How to extract the {a_id} value from the current row and pass it as a parameter to the action?
Or maybe just take another approach entirely?
I know that I can make the actual text in the table cells hyperlinks, and use them to link to the new page, which is fine. The desire here is just to make it so that the user can click "anywhere" on the table row (as they can currently do with the spry:select behavior) and have the link kick off, whether they actually click on the linked text or somewhere in the row where there is no text.
I'm sure this is obvious and simple, but I'm new to this level of Spry detail, and my brain is fried from hunting. Any guidance will be gratefully appreciated!

I found the answer myself, after posting this, of course!
I changed:

Basically just added the onclick parameter...
And it all just worked!

Firefox prevents a new page from opening? why?

Each time I click on a link in my email, I get an error msg after a new tab is opened:
"Firefox prevented this page from automatically redirecting to another page"
And I have to always click the tab that says "ALLOW"
Why????

Thank you! . . . I thought I had clicked and unclicked everything that was relevant to this thorny problem, but apparently not.
I never had this Firefox problem before, when I used previous versions over the years (I guess Firefox default checked-it in a new version).

Can not create new page from template

I have been working on a new site for the last couple of
weeks and have created several pages using a basic template.
All of the child pages of this template still update when
changes are made to it, however I can no long create new children
from this template.
Any ideas as to what the problem might be.

my guess is that you are opening the .dwt template file and
doing a "Save
As". That page is not a "child" page of the template.

in the new files dialog box, click the Templates tab
from list in left, click This Site Name
from list in right, pick This Template
make sure x is in box to Update if template changes
click okay
save file with filename you want to within this local site

Calling new page from Portal menus

I have created a portlet which contains a menu generated using the Menu Wizard and the LINK within this menu was populated using the popup window provided within the menu editor. Any Forms or Reports called from this menu are not generated as a new page. I have gone into the portlet repository and defined these reports / forms as an applicaton that should open in new window but it still doesn't work.
How can I get the applications that are called via the LINK in a Menu to break out into a new window without having to hardcode each LINK Menu item.

Portal menus works that way. The links open in the same page. If you want to open it in a new window
then in the menu wizard where you specify the links, call the link using javascript like this
javascript:void open('<portal_schema>.CAL_0520032153.SHOW')
or
javascript:void open('http://www.oracle.com')
This will open the calendar or the url in a new window.
