Links become huge when hovering

Hi guys, I am in the process of setting up an updated version of an old site, using Dreamweaver CC (which I am pretty new at), and suddenly noticed that whenever I hover over any of the hyperlinks on my test pages (eg. the navigation links at the top, or any hyperlink), the font suddenly grows absolutely huge (ie. it takes up half the page in size!). I guess I must have done something to cause this, but have no idea what - just wondering if anyone has any ideas how to fix it? The links are not meant to enlarge, at all. File becomes huge when printing

I'm using Acrobat 9. I have an 11-page pdf, originated by someone else, that I've marked up with comments and edits. The file size is 387KB but when I print it it takes forever to spool (15 minutes and counting as I write) and the size in the Windows print dialogue shows that it's 222MB (of which 151MB has currently been transferred.)
Has anyone any ideas why this might be happening? And can I do anything about it?

Normal behavior. EPS is a very inefficient file format in many ways
including size and the lack of support for transparency.

Why do none of the links that I put in my outgoing yahoo emails no longer underline themselves and become live when I finish typing them and hit the space bar?

Previously, when I typed my email address in an outgoing email or cut and pasted a link from my browser bar the link would become 'live' when I hit the space bar or 'enter' key. The link would turn blue and underline itself and the person receiving the email could just click on that live link and be taken to the site. Now the link does not turn blue or underline itself and the receiver must cut and paste the link into their browser bar to use it.
Why? I did not change anything in Yahoo or Mozilla.
I have deleted and reinstalled Java to no effect. I am using html in Yahoo.

As it turns out, many others have been having similar issues on other browsers. It seems that maybe Yahoo! is taking a much longer time to load or something like that. Either way, its been working on and off all week, and the same issue even showed up yesterday with IE 8 instead of FF. It still loads faster than IE 8, but again is spotty. Some people think the issue may be with mail.yimg.com or s.yimg.com, which I could see was the loading url in the left corner whenever Yahoo! Mail was refusing to work. A couple of people said blocking it caused the issue. Alternatively, some people suggested blocking it to solve the problem. Does anyone have any information on that? Again, I have no add-ons that would be blocking any urls, and my firewall hasn't any records of it. I really don't want to do anything to mess up my browsers more than they may have already been. The tooltip pop up when hovering over a link gets in my way if something is at the very bottom lower corner of a page...

.and I don't want to upgrade FF to what might be a beta version to get this status4eva addon!
I prefer to keep my status bar visible as I have a weather addon and like to see up to the minute info on the temperature outside and I use foxclocks to keep track of timezones where online friends live.
Now for what I'm talking about:
For example, I'll go to Livejournal and some layouts have the "previous/next" link in the lower left(your left if you face the screen) corner where the tooltip pops up. Well, the pointer will spaz between becoming the pointer finger and an arrow, and the link becomes impossible to click. I can get around it by opening a new tab, but this is really annoying to have to open and close tabs constantly. I REALLY think the tooltip should just pop up across the status bar area itself if at all, because it seriously gets in my way.
Yes, I am aware it will move to the right if it's still there when a page is loading and you move the mouse pointer down there. However, this is not the case if a page isn't loading and you're trying to click that "next" link at the bottom of a page.
This is VERY annoying. Please look into it when upgrading FF further.

A possible workaround could be to have the horizontal scroll bar visible all the time.

Hyperlink color doesn't change when hovering over link

I create hyperlink, color I select for hovering over link works fine. But sometimes when I publish to my website the link color does not change, but the link works ok. I go back to my mac and check, sure enough the color changes just fine. I wipe out the link and reinsert new one. Works fine on the mac, but when I publish, color does not change when hovering. Help.

Welcome to the discussions. This is a long shot, but try clearing your browser's cache and reloading the page — then see if the color changes when hovering. ( In Safari, click on the Safari menu and choose +Empty Cache...+ )

Line Height shrinks when hovering over linked image

Last line of text (above footer) has a small blue LinkedIn Icon as an image link.

Yellow pop up box when hovering over links missing in CC?

The behavior when hovering over links in the Links Panel in CS6 was a yellow pop up box with the full path of the link displayed.
I find that is not the behavior in CC and I am really missing that.
Have I missed a setting somewhere to enable this in CC?

That was it.
Tool tips was not enabled. Enabling it brings back the yellow box. Didn't really think of that as a tool tip.

Yellow Box when hovering over links

Hi All,
I have read a few discussions surrounding the 'yellow box' that appears when hovering over links in safari. Last I read some time ago revealed this is an intergrated 'feature' of safari. Is this still the case?? Or have enough users complained to have this 'feature' squashed (fingers crossed.....)

Word docs become huge RTF files in RoboHelp 8.02

Every Word document that I add to the RoboHelp 8 project becomes huge in file size. For example, a 100k Word 2007 document that consists of a couple of pages of text with a couple of small JPEG images (around 50k each) becomes a 15-30 meg RTF file in RoboHelp after importing. The same happens if I created the page/document from within RoboHelp. Is there a setting to keep the RTF files from swelling to such large gigantic sizes?

I found out what the problem was. For some reason, the RTF files swell up when the a jpeg image is added and embedded into the Word document. I created a test document and converted some of the jpeg images to bitmap (BMP) files and used the Image import tool that comes with RoboHelp. The RTF documents stayed tiny even when the same images were added but now as BMPs. The difference is that the RoboHelp image tool creates a link to the bitmap image as opposed to embedding it in the document which is what happened with the jpegs. I read about this in another post that alluded to this in one of the RoboHelp forums.

Thanks for your help with this. I had a look at both posts, the URL works fine from the WAC server and I am not using a System account to test docs.
Also, this is a production site that is accessible over the Internet, so we are using https therefore the WOPIZone is external-https.
Issue #3 in the above blog link does not reflect the same error I see on my servers.

I have not added any domains to the Allow list so this did not help either. Should I add the domain?

How can I force an "invisible" object to become "visible" when a numeric value is entered?

So I’m trying to force an “invisible” subform to switch to “visible” when a numeric value greater than or equal to 22 is input into a numeric field.
I can’t get the following javascript code to work properly with any event. I’ve tried the change, calculate, validate, events and a few more to no avail. The only event that kind of works with the javascript code I’m using is the validate event. When I input the code into the validateevent, the invisible subform becomes visible when an amount equal to or greater than 22 is entered, but when ANY amount is input into this field, an error message pops up that says “NumericField4 validation failed” and the user has to click “Ok” to get rid of the pop up box.

The object field that the javascript code is contained in is called: NumericField4 (a.k.a. New Job Grade)
The subform that I want to become visible when a number greater than 22 is input into NumericField4, is called Approval23.

File is huge when combined or changed to PDF, how do I get the file to a normal size to print?

Files are to large to print once they are PDF, how do I get them to a normal 8x11 size to print?

So why is it when I send these PDF files to clients they are to large for clients to print?
If I send a combined PDF file that is 3817KB, which a client has said is to large for them to print.
I send it to our office manager, she will print it, scan it back to me as a PDF, it will come
back as 375KB, the client can then print the file.
My question is, was/is there something I need to change in the process of scanning, combining files
to PDF that would create a smaller size file when done?

Sorry, I'm lost.First I thought this was about page size. But you say it isn't. You say it's about file size. You've combined files of 494 + 441 = 935 KB, and you get 944 KB. This seems fine and you say it is fine. So what is the problem? Are you now on still a third meaning of huge, about size on screen?

Copied HTML links become broken relative links?

In late October, after the forum software change, I started having an occasional (I think!) problem pasting links.
My typical practice would be to cut-and-paste a FAQ link from the InDesign General Overview page, and sometimes the link would end up with pieces missing in my post. The URL looked right, but if you clicked it, you got taken to an invalid page.
I think I've tracked down the source -- the link gets interpreted as a relative link when copied, and the anchor point to which the link is relative changes, so the link becomes busted.
To make this concrete, I start on http://forums.adobe.com/community/indesign/indesign_general?view=overview (the InDesign General overview page), and in the "InDesign Troubleshooting 101: The most common advice when things don't work" section at the top, I select the entire line "Trash, Replace, Reset, or Restore the application Preferences: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/526990".
Looks like the right thing as I type this in the normal editor. But if I click the HTML editor, I see:

And of course, the "../.." in the href seems bound to cause problems.
But not always. I tried a test in the the testing forum on Oct. 30: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3998418#3998418 and it worked just fine.
Anyhow, this is kind of annoying, but I perhaps it can make it into Jive's bug report queue...
Workaround seems to be to click HTML and inspect the link carefully.

What browser are you using, and exactly how are you copying the link?
I wonder if what you're seeing could be browser-specific behavior, possibly influenced by OS platform...
On Windows 7 I right-clicked the link you noted in IE9 and chose Copy Shortcut, then pasted it here... I repeated the process 10 times, alternating between the two links listed there. The URL seems to be all there in every case...

Why a VI has a broken arrow when I open it when labview is open but becomes executable when it is opened by double clicking

I have a VI with some subVIs from a dynamic link library. When I open the VI using "open" or "open VI" in labVIEW, the VI is broken. In the error list,it saids one or all the subVIs from the dynamic link library are not executable. However, if I exit labview and open the same VI by double clicking it, it becomes executable without any change being made. Sometimes I can fix the broken arrow by configuring the "call library function node" in the subVI and saving it. But when I open the VI again, the same problem and error message appear. I am using labVIEW 6.1 for the top level VI and those subVIs from the dynamic link library could be developed in a different version of labVIEW. Is this the cause of the problem? Another possible reason I can think of is that somebody installed another application developed in labVIEW on the same computer. Is it possible that some settings were modified during the installation that cause this problem to occur? I am suspecting this because I first notice this problem after the installation of the other application.

Since the problem started ocurring after installing another application, I would suspect something with that last installation. Without knowing more about the installations, I would not be able to help much. Did the other installation perhaps install another DLL of the same name? Try uninstalling the last app to see if the problem goes away.

I just finished my menu and I notice that the hovering color is not hiding all the white. Does someone know how to eliminate extra white when hovering over with a back ground color?

You have heights on the ul, li as 36px and a line-height of the text of 35px so they are not matching up. Personally speaking I would normally recommend using padding on the links to create the height and not set the height on the ul or li elements.
