Linksys EA6500 Device List Connection Status - update process

I have the Linksys EA6500 with the latest firmware and have a question regarding the device list connection status.
Currently, I am seeing devices in the list that have a connection status of live, but they are not even within my home network.
What is the update/cycle time for the device list actually checking connection status of a device?
In my situation, it has been 3 days (72 hours) since the two device showing as connected have not been connected to my home network/router.
Noticed that this inaccurate connection status for these devices is also contributing to the Device Monitr app not showing correct device connection status info.
Would like to have real-time device connection status if possible. This device list is great way to know when device get connected or disconnected which helps me know when my kids get home from school or using game console when should be doing homework.
Thanks for your help.

When you go to Troubleshooting > Diagnostics > Router configuration and clicked on Backup it is actually letting you save a backup of your configuration. It should prompt you where to save the file for you to use it later to reconfigure the router settings by loading it back on the router itself. I suggest that you do a hard reset on the router itself – push and hold the reset button using a pin or paper clip for 10-15 seconds then wait for the cisco light to go solid. Once the cisco light will turn solid access the router page again by typing in 192.168.1.1 in the address bar and load the backup that you have saved. Just go back to Troubleshooting > Diagnostics > Router configuration and click on Restore option. It will ask you to look for the backup config file that you have save and open it and the settings should be restored on the router. Check then if the same problem (device list) will be experienced.

  • EA6500 Device List

    Hi
Is there a way in which to reset the Device List on the EA6500...? because it has ghost devices in the list which are no longer attached and/or the names of the devices have been changed which kind of screws everything up and it then has an identity crisis and shows devices which are not actually connected.
The only way in which I can think to resolve this would be a factory reset. this should reset the Device List back to a state of normality, in theory but I am not sure.
    Thanks in advance
    Mel

A factory reset would certainly clear the device list, along with all other settings of course. But, if it's only showing them on the list, and not showing them as being currently connected, you can just click the x in the top right of the device to remove them. If it's glitched out thinking they're still connected and therefore won't let them be removed, rebooting should fix that. In which case you'll be able to remove them after rebooting.
As for changed names, rebooting may also fix that I believe, otherwise you can manually change them through the device list by clicking on them and clicking "edit". Additionally, removing them from the list while they aren't connected should also fix it since the router will then get the new information when it reconnects.
Again, a reset would similarly "fix" both of these since it'll clear the list, but a reboot and/or renaming is certainly easier if you use a bunch of custom settings.
A side note: My EA6500 hasn't really had any issues like this in a while, so if you don't have the current firmware installed you might want to consider updating.

  • MuVo "device not connected" firmware update error

When I try to execute the plan given by Pook Kok Choy (below between "=====")
    I successfully get MUVO_DRV_LB_00_04_250.exe installed.
When I move to step 2 I have the device attached to the PC but I get the message "device not connected to the USB port".
This happens, with the device connected and on while trying to install:
    MUVOAudible_PCFW__40_2_L4.exe
Apparently, I am not alone in having this problem.
Apparently, this happens to others - using XP - specifically when trying to do this firmware upgrade in order to play purchased WMA, DRM protected music.
The PC recognizes the MuVo 28.
It assigns it a dri've letter when it is plugged in.
The install procedure for the *Audible* firmware does not see it.
    Please help.
    Tbanks,

    JLRtist,
After you have installed the latest downloaded driver, did you run the player into recovery mode? Try this, press and hold the PLAY button, continue holding the button while inserting the player into the USB port for about 0-5 sec. Run the firmware update file.

  • EA6500 - Device List is full of networ kdevices that are offline

This is very frustrating to manage. And I can't remove them by clicking the X

Don't hold your breath for firmware updates. Cisco broke their promise to keep the Classic firmware updated and now Cisco is selling Linksys. Who knows what the future holds for these routers.

  • IDoc Status update configuration

I need to utilize the status update process for inbound/outbound IDocs.  My EDI translator sends a status IDoc (EDIDS) that has the IDoc number and the status (nothing more).  Out EDI services are managed externaly so their only role is to place IDocs onto my SAP server.  In other words they do not use call startrfc.
How can I implement the process of updating the status of an IDoc to indicate if there is a failure in subsytem translation, or positive acknowledgement, and so on???

    Hi Amtnbiker,
I think your question is more BC related.
Could you please send new thread in Basis middleware forum?
    Thanks and best regards,

  • Status update

Background : In TMS project IDOC interface is used to send out data from SAP to the external transportation planning systems. This interface includes sending of information related to outbound deliveries, which is performed with specific message type ZVXX_TMS1_TPSDLS. As soon as external system receives outbound delivery data from SAP it generates response messages with technical acknowledgment (message type STATUS) and sends it back to SAP. Then external system process data received from SAP and as data is processed, message with Functional acknowledgement (message type STATUS) is generated and sent out to SAP through XI.
In SAP STATUS messages update outbound delivery messages ZVXX_TMS1_TPSDLS with new statuses received from external system. In this way it is possible to have information in SAP regarding outbound delivery processing in External system.
The problem related to status update process is found. In some cases even STATUS IDOCs are created in correct order in SAP, they update ZVXX_TMS1_TPSDLS messages in incorrect order. And it makes not possible to track actual processing status of outbound deliveries in external system with message ZVXX_TMS1_TPSDLS status record.
    Requirements
Basic requirement is to have status for outbound message TMS_TMS1_TPSDLS which reflects progress of data processing in external system.
The right sequence of status scheme is to process technical acknowledgment before the functional acknowledgment.
    Can any one help ?

    Hi,
One more method is to provide Milestone timing for critical loads/availability of reports.
For eg consider you have one chain loading data into a few critical targets. Depending on the data volume, load timings and post processing identify a critical milestone time by which everyday the chains should be complete. say 9.00 AM in clients time zone (normal beginning of business day when clients may expect a report).
Only in the scenario where its delayed you have to inform client through a mail with the reason for delay and expected time of availability. Otherwise when there is no delay its understood that data is available.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,

    Hello,
I have a iPod touch 4g,last time when I paired with my friends iPhone it showed his iPhone's name along with devices connected earlier in the bluetooth list after I updated my software to ios 5.1 the names of friends devices appear as D1:FG:12:13:AK something like that and all the other previously connected devices appear in this same form in the bluetooth list how do I fix this back and it is confusing to connect to a device with no name but some unknown Bluetooth address so how do I find the device name back????
    SO PLEAZZZZZ HELP!!!!!

An iPod can only pair with an iPhone for internet sharing provided that the iPhone has the subscribed to the tethering plan. The BT profiles do not permit file tansfer between IDevices by BT. The only BT pairsin is by app and those ar for peer-to-peer gaming.

  • Apple TV (1G) doesn't appear in devices list when connected via ethernet

After upgrading to OS X Lion and iTunes 10.4 my Apple TV (1G) doesn't appear in the devices list when connected via ethernet. When I switch to wireless lan the device is shown and the sync process starts but can't copy the new films. The copy operation stops every time and sometines the device disappears from the list.
Despite of the upgrading of OS X and iTunes all the settings are unchanged.
    Anyone an idea?

Since my last update, I've gathered more information.  I'm almost certain this is not entirely a 10.7.1 issue, if an issue in 10.7.1 at all.  10.7.1 may have changed something that caused this issue to appear, but where I was having this problem weekly if not daily, I no longer have the problem. I changed routers.  I was using a new D-Link Xtreme N Gigabit RouterDIR-655.  This router was causing me pain with lock ups.  I replaced it with a Cisco Linksys E4200. I have not had a lockup in over 2 months now and not one sync issue with Apple TV nor my new iPhones, which sync wireless to iTunes on my Mac Pro.
Thinking about how my network is wired leads me to believe the issue was in the router, or maybe a network communication change in 10.7.1 that the DIR-655 was not supporting correctly. My MacPro and a few other hardwired access points in my house go directly to the router.  My AppleTV and Airport Extreme are connected to a Gigabit switch and the Gigabit switch is then connected to the router. I also turn off the wireless capabilities in my routers, as I prefer to let my Airport Extreme handle those duties.  This all means my normal hardwired communication path from my Mac Pro to Apple TV was going through the router, to the switch, to the Airport Extreme and then to my AppleTV.  My Apple TV is connected to the LAN port on the Airport extreme. By going wireless on the MacPro, I was bypassing the router altogether.
As I started out saying, since I replaced my router, my sync issues have also gone away. If your having Apple TV sync issues, you might want to look at the router as well.  Also, while I can’t remember the exact settings, I had opened up or enabled UPnP and other router settings in the DIR-655 to see if that would resolve the sync issues and it did not.  In the end, I just spent the money and bought a new router and life is good now.

  • My computer wont recognize my ipod touch, when i go into the devices list (windows 7) it comes up but its under unspecified and says it needs troubleshooting. what can i do to get it to connect properly again?

when i plug in my ipod into the right usb port it makes the connecting noise but nothing pops up and itunes does nothing. then when i look into the devices list it is under a category called unspecified and says that it needs troubleshooting. if i run the troubleshooting program it says it could not find a solution to the problem. i want to know how to fix this.

I was struggling with this since my latest Itunes update.  Fiirst it would not recognize my IPad as a device, after correcting that, it would list the Ipad in my device but my Sync had no options (summry, info, etc). and it kept saying it was "Accessing Itunes store".  reading your question I suddently tried deleting the itunes task (alt-ctrl, delete, processes) and delete Itunes.  (By the way, I had rebooted my computer several times over the last few days).  I opened up Itunes, and voila. Device is there. No "accessing windows" and my sync has the normal options.

  • EA6900 Device List - Update cycle time frame?

I have owned EA6900 router for 2 weeks. Works great. Using the device list feature to see which devices are online and which are not.
See devices that are no longer on my network as "online". How can this be?
When does the router ping the network for real-time device status?
I am using the Device Monitr app and it just mimics what the firmware shows.
How do I make the device list real-time or re-ping every 15 minutes at a minimum?
    Thanks

What I discovered is that the Linksys Smart WiFi page is getting some time to refresh the device list. There is nothing on the page also that we can change to refresh it. However, this will not affect your internet connection. What we can try is to reboot the router on the Linksys Smart WiFi page or just manually do it.

  • My 1st gen iPad is not recognized by my PC, my iMac or my macbook.  it's charged, connected directly to the usb port, shows the connect to iTunes screen,  but is not in the device list on the pc or iTunes??  I have reset it repeatedly, and rebooted???

I am conneting my Ipad to mutiple Pcs, (windows and Mac) and it is not being recognized in the device list on itunes or the computers.  the ipad is fully charged, I have reset it numerous times and it gives me the apple icon and then the "connect to itunes" message.... but dose nothing after that.  I had it all set up and gave it to my daughter who tried to sync it with her macbook when it did this.  We are using direct connections to the computers usb ports, the cables are new, ituens is newly updated on all pc's...
any ideas what the problem is??

    Hello,
I've just installed FieldPoint Driver 5.0 downloaded from NI website but the RLY 421 is still not in the device list ...
Before starting to develop I thought I should update my drivers so I got the latest FP Driver version, but since I'm still using LV 7.1 maybe I shall unistall FP Driver 5.0 and re-install 4.1 and see if it works  ?

  • Linksys EA3500 and missing devices on device list

I have an EA3500 (N750) and I have a few devices that I know are connected to my network, but aren't showing in my device list. Particularly, they are an Android phone and a iPod Touch. Other phones and computers show up just fine in the list (iPad, laptops, desktops, etc). I've verified they are being assigned unique IP addresses by looking on the devices themselves and I have no connectivity errors, but they fail to display in the list. I'm not sure where to start.

They may just show up as Android or Network Device. If you find out which IP Address they are getting us DHCP reservation to assign them those IP Address and Label it so you can recognize the device.

  • Linksys Firmware Update Process Change

Linksys is starting to rollout firmware updates to router's that have the "Check for Firmware Update" or "Auto Firmware Update" features in a batch process.

    chadster766 wrote:
You know with my Galaxy S5 I have auto updates enabled. I like it but as soon as the first bad update occurs it will be turned off.Sure but w/ your Galaxy S5 (assuming a carrier one) you would be surprised at how difficult it is for Samsung to get the carriers to approve that update (LOTS of testing). Additionally, you at least get some sort of release notes. Nothing major. Final item, a Galaxy S5 is a single user device.  A Router supports "multiple single user devices".  So if a router dies from an update, that could impact 10+ Samsung WiFi clients.vs. just 1 phone that dies. To me, "scope of impact" and "release management" factor into these sort of decisions...Real world scenario: Someone is in the middle of NetFlix streaming a movie. If I update the router firmware and interrupt that, I might not live to post on these forums Just imagine what more "productive" situations could arise. For ,my phone, if I update it, no one is impacted but me.

  • Connected devices list

My M10 shows as being connceted to 5 devices but ddoes not tell me what those devices are.  How can  find the list and make changes if necessary?
Also,  noticed on one of the discussions that one can download the latest sofware.  Am I correct that my device is version 1.0?

Did you install the cisco connect software? Is that where you see the 5 devices connected to your network? The only way to check what devices are connected to the network are to either manually check what devices you have connected wired or wirelessly with the router. Or you may also access the router page and check through the DHCP client's table what devices are connected. If you did install cisco connect, you may access the router page by going to > Router Settings > Other options > Advanced Settings. Then go status > local network > DHCP client's table. And while you are on the status tab, check the firmware version.
