(little) bug in apex : for the apex team

Hi,
I have two applications in one workspace, both having some LOV´s.
If I show from shared components the LOV´s of the first application it return several LOV´s
If I do the same for the second application (having a smaller number of LOV´s) the reset pagination message comes up. Not logical ? Perhaps you can avoid it.

Thanks for reporting this. I guess I can't say that this is a "feature"? ;)
There are a number of ways this could be solved. I'm curious which you think is preferable.
1) When changing any POST process to a process that is executed on SHOW, delete any button conditions (as you say, they won't be relevant anyway).
2) Leave the button condition in place, but when viewing any process associated with a SHOW (e.g., Before Header), show the Button Condition region if the Button Condition is not null.
3) Don't permit the change of Process Point if a Button Condition is present.

Please create a list of bug fixes for the Development Team to address in the next version of Bootcamp (e.g., 3.2). This thread assumes that all users are presently running Bootcamp 3.1:
1. Sound should not be muted every time a user reboots a newer MacBook laptop using Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit. My sound is always muted when I load Windows 7 Ultimate, and I have to manually turn it on each time.
2. Left and right clicks on the trackpad should work out of the box using Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit. My left click operates a little less than 50 percent of the time -- i.e., I click it and nothing happens. Please step right up and add to the bug report list so that the developers have a checklist of issues that need to be fixed. When the bug report list has grown to a respectable size, I'll send an official letter to the C.E.O. to facilitate the bug reports reaching the development team.

FWIW, I don't have the symptoms you describe. So I think before you call a symptom a "bug" I think you should confirm that it is indeed a "bug" and not a configuration, software, or hardware issue caused by something such as incorrect installation, incorrect setup, or any other third party or user caused action.
Also, FWIW, I don't think this forum is intended to be used as a survey for gathering "bugs". Apple has an official feedback page where they gather user experiences such as yours. I think if you post your "bugs" there they will get faster attention than posting them here in this user-to-user help forum.

Or you can email iTunes Support at iTunes Store Support.
If all else fails:
Go to: Apple Express Lane;
Under Product Categories choose iTunes;
Then choose iTunes Store;
Then choose Account Management;
Press Continue;
Now choose iTunes Store Security and answer the bullet questions, then click Continue;
Sign in with your Apple ID and press Continue;
Under Contact Options fill out the information and advise iTunes that you would like your security/challenge questions reset;

Here is what he said to do and it is working for me...
1) on the device that is asking you for the security questions go to "settings", > "store" > tap the Apple ID and choose view"Apple ID" and sign in.
2) Tap on payment information and add a credit/debit card of your preference then select "done", in the upper right corner
3) sign out and back into iTunes on the device by going to "settings"> "store" > tap the Apple ID and choose "sign-out" > Tap "sign -in" > "use existing Apple ID" and you should be asked to verify your security code for the credit /debit card and NOT the security questions.
4) At this time you can remove the card by going back in to edit the payment info and selecting "none" as the card type then saving the changes by selecting "done". You should now be able to use your iTunes store credit without answering the security questions.
It's working for me ...I just have to put in my 3 digit security pin from the credit card I am using.

For the apex-team : bug in apex ???

Hi apex-team,
if i make a master-detail report i can choose between a result of two pages (master and detailmaster with mru for the detail) , or a result with three pages (master, detailmaster with a report of detailtabel and a form for the detail-table.
apex creates in both cases but in the second situation (three pages) on the third page it's impossible to add a detail. (in the result with two pages everything works fine).
both apex verson 2.2 and version 3.

I think the fix for a future release would be to not use that derived column, and just use a standard report with a custom template. It is also possible that for announcements and tasks it is more appropriate to use a standard Textarea instead of Textarea with HTML Editor.

Error in packaged application Document Library: for the apex team ?

Dear team-members,
I've installed this application. Looks nice, my compliments.
I can make new announcements: it seems possible to underline, or make bullets and so on, but the "format" don't appear in the result: no bullets, no underlining, just ordinary text without spaces.....

Suitability of APEX for the task

Hi Everyone,
I'm designing a personal finance application, still in the conceptual planning phase. The idea is to create a small self contained app that can be offered for sale/download to the general public very reasonably. The business model is sell a million @ $30 bucks each. I would love if I could use APEX for this, but my only experience working with Oracle is in connection with larger, more enterprise-related, projects.
Is this a type of application APEX would be suited to? What does this business model look like, in the APEX world? Can APEX be distributed in a self-contained, runtime, code-obscured type of framework? Or do I need to stick with an MS Access or MySQL web dev type of delivery model?

Bo,
APEX requires the Oracle database. So, while you could offer the application as a packaged app (and run it through a code obfuscator, but even then, anyone with access to the builder will be able to see what your pages look like, etc.), your customers would still need to install and set up at least the Oracle XE version--not exactly a one-click install option. You could offer your service as a hosted, online tool, but you're going to run into issues with users not wanting to put personal financial information on the web; you're going to have to ensure that data security is in place--even from you, probably.

(BUG REPORT) Kudos to the Dev Team OS 2.0 Rocks Major Improvement

Kudos to the BB Playbook OS 2.0 Dev Team (Excellent Release!!)I want to give my personal thanks as a loyal blackberry customer to the Developer/ Coding Team over at RIM. I am thoroughly impressed with the update. I absolutely love the reader feature. The new home screen and folders is implemented wonderfully. Also, it appears battery life has been improved (No easy task). Great job.
There are a few little bugs to be fixed for the next maintanence update.
1. Flash is not polished, it's only partially working.
The daily show (with John Stewart) (www.thedailyshow.com)(full episodes link), and several other flash video webistes have trouble with the controls (play, pause). The controls either don't show, or don't function, or neither, or function sporadically. Also, possibly an app could be created so that a flash video stream would open in a separate window allowing the controls to function correctly if there is some reason it is difficult in the web browswer. I can get the daily show playing but, pausing it, or fastforwarding, now that's a challenge. Make the buttons larger maybe (I don't know if that's possible, not familiar with flash.)
2. Media Player: The media player has some bug in the code that is causing it to become choppy when scrolling through the list of songs. I have some album art, and maybe that has something to do with it. But I didn't notice it before the update.
Also, it may be a neat idea to add some different color backgrounds to the music player skin(Hot pink, or something) to take care of the lady geeks, women buy stuff too, think all girl dorm room full of playbooks. Also, it is kind of a less than sexy music player skin (Unlike the new home screen wow, very polished.) Also, because all my music doesn't have album art, it makes the music player look strange. Some of the icons have only 3 of 4 pictures filled in Looks weird.
Also, when fast forwarding with the slider bar clicking with my finger causes a slight pop in the earphones (It needs to mute, then fastforward, then unmute, then play.) Imagine a playbook hooked up at a wedding to a 5000 dollar soundsystem, pop, then bye bye speakers.
3. Book Reader Power Mode - I was using "Book Reader" app from the app store and I noticed something that could be fixed. The truth is that when people read ebooks, the power managment settings should be a little different. I suggest adding a 3rd power managment mode that the ebook reader apps can access. That way, every time I open an ebook it sets the screen to stop going dim every 30 seconds like I would use for messages and general use throughout the day. It should stay the same in this mode rather plugged in or not. The screen brightness should not be affected by the power plug either. "Nothing like waking the wife up with the flashlight tablet because it was going dead and you decided to plug it in while reading your technical manual at 2am."
4. Silent on schedule (Totally Silent, VIP Vibrate, VIP ring) (A feature that I wished both my bold 9700, and playbook had was a feature I'll call silent on schedule. The idea is simple, for the most part people know what time they need their phone to shut up and be quiet. Why can't RIM integrate silent mode with our calenders. A simple checkbox in the calender options and your phone (and playbook) will automatically stay silent, except for VIPs. It goes without saying that your ringer should go to normal at the end of the meeting, or court appearance (lots of lawyers use blackberry), lot's of students would appreciate this too. It would save us from having to constantly be changing our ringing mode all day. If I were RIM I would patent that one. (If you do, and want to send me a new touch screen phone as a thanks that's cool with me, but not required, just free thoughts for you to use however you want.)
5. Strange WiFi (The playbook has a strange issue where sometimes the wifi displays near zero. I don't know if this is software or hardware. My MBP and Bold 9700 have no such issue. It's a cisco/linksys router with dual g/n.
6. Before I forget, the web browswer is now awesome. Load times are acceptable. I would like to add though that of all the web browswer's the style, and color of this one is not what I would call "in fashion."
7. Idea: create an over the air sync system for the blackberry bridge. It should always keep the contacts, calender and maybe photos updated. Since, someone surely has a patent on this one, let me suggest a workaround called 1 at a time. Do an initial sync via usb to both devices on the desktop manager. Then only one device has to ever be connected to sync to laptop, as the other one syncs over bluetooth one item (contact, calender entry, photo at a time.)
8. Not always on bluetooth. Something tells me that it is not the most secure thing to leave the bluetooth constantly running and connected giving those keys over the air. Maybe it could connect at intervals (or upon status change (message, new contact, calender entry)). This might also save battery too. Just a thought.
I know how easy it is to forget about style, when mechanics are tinkiering around with the insides, but make the fastest car ugly, and no one will buy it. Also, Bill Gates was asked while in the presence of Steve Jobs what was the one thing Steve had he wished he had... Bill Gates said roughly "I wish I had Steve's eye for Style."
The truth is as technology advances, it will fade to the background. Fashion will be where people meed the device. People love a good running car, but gorgeous get's em into the showroom.

Publicly accessable list of bugs/known issue for the 2.1 release?

If you have an Oracle Support contract you are able to review any bug that has been published. We publish bugs that customer request be published. We are not trying to hide bugs from the user base, it is in your interest that every bug is not published, as this would then include trivial bugs you are not interested in. For example, we log bugs for typos, each new icon raised and updated, and for requested updates to menu titles, for the order of the tabs in the display editors and so on. If you have a bug you're interested in, you can contact Support, request the bug be published, if it's not already published and then keep track of its progress.
There have been requests that we publish bugs mentioned on the forum, and we do this where we can. Bugs are by default not published. If the product is in a beta cycle for example, then the bug is logged for that beta cycle and is not publishable. We can publish bugs that are logged against production software. This forum is not an alternative to Support or Metalink. Customers pay for the support they get through Oracle Support and the service that is available there.
Customers with Oracle Database Support contracts have support for SQL Developer.

in BADI ORDER_SAVE, Method PREPARE you can check for changes of ticket values and cancel the save process.
So you could check if the user is in partner function "message processor" and has changed the value in partner function "support team". If so, you could cancel the process, the change will not be saved and the user gets an error message!

O8EE-WAS302 A question for the Oracle Team

I have installed O8EE and attempt to install WAS 302. It does
not give any mistake upon installing but when I execute owsctl
start www, says that it does not find the file libndwzp.so, the
directory where is found this file is in LD_LIBRARY_PATH
variable, and computer it is hung. As curious thing is that
permits me to execute owsctl start wrb and owsctl start admin,
and with the browser can use the administration pages. Before I
have installed O8+WAS302 and was operating. Some idea? It is
incompatible the version EE with WAS?

With all due respect, Oracle is providing their software free for evaluation (otherwise playing around at home and letting companies play with it for 30 days to show how it womps on MS SQL et al.) purposes only. Their product is a commercial product and asking you to join OTN to download it, helps them enforce that individuals are using it for only these purposes. Allowing anonymous access means that they have no idea of where there software is going and what it is being used for. I dont know if you have priced out Oracle but if you have, I think you would come to the conclusion that it is a tad expensive to purchase, just for learning and throwing it on a resume. They are asking that you be accountable and responsible for upholding your end of the agreement and not using it in manners other than specified. I think that is a reasonable request for access to software of this caliber. You do not see MS giving away Dev Studio or MS SQL for the price of a little user information now do you.

A question for the Muse team

With all the talk about the biblical slowness of Adobe Muse.... yes, even the very latest and most up to date version as of todays date.... and the fact that so many people are complaining, I would like to ask the development team exactly what computer specs you guys are using and what type of websites, number of pages etc you created in order to test the product.
I am a Mac user so it would be helpful to tell me the spec YOU are using instead of constantly asking disgruntled users who live in the real world with computer specs for their .muse files to be sent in.
You guys must have spent months developing this product so you MUST have seen the incredible lag or the need to force quit regularly upon the ever present spinning beach ball. Can you tell us what other application you open to use with the product... I for instance now am unable to open my Lightroom 5 app to adjust any images as, as soon as I do so, Muse starts to sulk big time and just gives in... Also if I use nothing else and just Muse, after an hour it decides its had enough of the hard work and suffers from accelerated decrepitude.
So what specs do you use and I will go out and buy it...

To add to the above... the Adobe Muse CC software has also started to to turn my iMac into an old grandfather... after about 10 minutes of use, adding some text and some photos, my whole computer slows down to a halt... dragging a website page just a few inches to the left lags for about 10 seconds, typing text starts to slow down. putting your mouse over items on the toolbar takes 5 seconds or so for the drop down menus to appear... etc... etc.... etc.... etc...
... and as usual I am unable to shut Muse down and have to force quit... I have tested every other programe and non of them affect my iMac like this so it really is Muse...
I dont know why you want to kill my iMac as I quite like it and its only a year old. Would be so nice if you could produce a stable version as I received notice from all the other pieces of software I have saying that they dont like working alongside Muse and want to move to a new computer.

Hurrah for the OviSuite software team! I fought with the early PCSuites years ago. I fought with the last few Ovi Suite renditions until I gave up in frustration. The new Ovi Suite installed smoothly -and- worked immediately. I can synch and backup and view.
The MTP USB driver for the 5230 is still not installing in Windows 7, but I am functional.

Is there a particular error message when you try to convert? If you get the generic "Conversion failure" message after both attempts, your assumption is likely correct. But, there are also specific types of the PDF files that ExportPDF doesn't support for conversion, such as those that are password-protected or part of a PDF portfolio. That said, if the spreadsheet is large, it could very well be too complex.
Please clear the browser cache, and then try again. If that doesn't work, you might want to try converting via Adobe Acrobat--since the conversion will take place locally, you won't run into any upload speed or connectivity issues which could affect the conversion. If you don't have Acrobat, you're welcome to try it for free for 30 days. You can download a 30-day trial from http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html.

Suggestion for the PlayBook Team

There have been suggestions made and issues identified with the PlayBook on this and other forums. Many of these are understandable with the initial release of a totally new product, new OS, and very limited development time.
My issue is more fundamental: What is the PlayBook supposed to be?
   1) Business Tool?
   2) Entertainment Device?
   3) Smartphone Extension/Enhancement?
It appears that PlayBook is trying to be "all of the above, to all people, and master of none"
The PlayBook was to be my business tool. Unfortunately it currently fails to meet my minimum business requirements. The functionality for the two other uses seems to be limited as well.
It would be helpful if the PlayBook Team conveyed the primary purpose of the PlayBook; and, concentrated development in that direction. This would provide a realistic expectations as to the future use of my PlayBook.

What is wrong with all of the above?
What's the focus of the iPad, Xoom and Tab?
I do believe you'll see it fulfill all three as apps develop and time passes. Obviously right now it's not serving your needs.
