Load .flv dynamically or at runtime

Hi,
I stucked in a problem when i was trying to load Approptiate
.flv file dinamically when I click on HTML hyperlinks.
Actually I called a .flv file inside Flash Video using Action
Script and as a result i got the approprite flash file played using
Flash Player 8 but i wanna do the same thing using HTML tag i want
to call the indivudual file using Html hyperlinks at the same
position. i.e.
var my_video:Video;
var connection_nc:NetConnection = new NetConnection();
connection_nc.connect(null);
var stream_ns:NetStream = new NetStream(connection_nc);
my_video.attachVideo(stream_ns);
stream_ns.play("my_movie.flv");

Actually i called .flv file using the above mentioned script
but i wanna do the same using HTML hyperlinks ...........
Now my problem is if we will pass the variables then We have
to assign the value inside Html Page but how?

• Loading .FLVs dynamically into a single .SWF

Hey guys, so here's my issue. I've got a site that I'm
working on with a friend of mine who is a software developer. His
comfort is with .net and asp.net. The site we're doing has a media
section where the clients want to be able to upload videos in .flv
format and have these uploaded movies populate a dropdown list.
Instead of having them upload a .swf of an flv player and the
actual .flv movie, we would like to have a single .swf that loads
these .flvs dynamically. So, basically the problem there is that
the location of the .flv file is usually hardcoded, either through
actionscript or through the component parameters window inside
flash itself. So I figure the solution is to have the flv player
inside the swf call to a variable in the database, and when each
video is selected in the dropdown, it is set as that variable. Do
you guys have any tips on that code or any other solutions to my
problem?

Yes, you must embed them rather than load them from a url at runtime:

• [AS2] Controlling loaded FLV sound??

While I haven't any hints in the documentation on how to
control a dynamically loaded FLV's sound(volume), everywhere I read
that you create a Sound object on the parent MovieClip. This isn't
working
var nc = new NetConnection();
nc.connect(null);
var ns = new NetStream(nc);
mc.vid.attachVideo(ns); // MovieClip on stage with Video
instance named "vid"
ns.play('TestVideo.flv'); // this all works, video loads and
plays full volume
function onMouseUp(){
var snd = new Sound(mc);
snd.setVolume(25);
What am I doing wrong?

I seriously spent 2 hours trying to figure this out and got
no where. I posted this question literally a minute ago, and have
just figured it out:
mc.attachAudio(ns);
I should have posted this question two hours ago ;-)

• How to generate a PDF 417 Barcode by assigning a dynamic value at runtime?

PDF 417 Barcode Description given in the Livecycle Designer 8.2
: PDF 417 Non-Scriptable Barcode. Value must be assigned to this barcode at design time, and this barcode will not update after form object value changes.
And my question is how to generate a PDF 417 Barcode by assigning a dynamic value at runtime?

All the information you described points to the problem that reports seems can't generate to a file which already exist. You can verify that by simply doing
r30run32 C:\AC_REPORT.REP DESTYPE = FILE DESFORMAT = PDF BATCH = YES' desname=c:\temp\ac_report.pdf
several times. If first time the report is successfully generated in c:\temp\ac_report.pdf, but not the second, third time, then it looks like there is a bug on reports r30run32 executable.
You may try to find any latest patch for Reports 3.0 to see if patch can solve you problem. But keep in mind Reports 3.0 is de-supported, you are better to move to 6i or 9i reports.
Thanks,
-Shaun

• How to create dynamic room in runtime execution?

Hello All,
Can you please suggest me how can I create dynamic room in runtime execution? I do not want to create fixed room from the room consol. I want to create a new room & also delete it after work complete in runtime execution.
thanks,
krish

Hi Krish,
If you are using your own server to do ExternalAuthentication, then you can
user server to server API's to do that. Please refer to Server2Server apps
in the SDK's sample apps folder.
Else you might have to use AccountManager with room
owner credentials. But the Server2Server aprroach is highly recommended.
private var acctMgr:AccountManager = new AccountManager();
acctMgr.accountURL = m_accountURL;
acctMgr.authenticator = authenticator;
acctMgr.addEventListener(AccountManagerEvent.LOGIN_SUCCESS, authenticateSuccess);
//acctMgr.addEventListener(AccountManagerEvent.LOGIN_FAILURE, authenticateFailure);
//acctMgr.addEventListener(AccountManagerEvent.ACCESS_ERROR, onAuthenticationAccessError);
public function authenticateSuccess(event:AccountManagerEvent):void {
acctMgr.addEventListener(AccountManagerEvent.ROOM_DELETE, onRoomDelete);
acctMgr.deleteRoom(name, template);
public function onRoomDelete(event:AccountManagerEvent):void {
Thanks

• Externally loaded FLV

In my SWF fie, I have an externally loaded FLV file.
I now want to add another FLV that will load and play
automatically when the first one is finished.
I actually want the SWF to jump to a new scene when the first
movie is done.
How can I do that/ what the actionscript?
Steven

Hey Steven,
I am not very sure but just giving a shot answering it...
You can use FLVPlayback.complete event to detect the
comepletion of first flv and set the path of other flv on complete.
Something like this:
import mx.video.*;
my_FLVPlybk.contentPath = "
http://www.helpexamples.com/flash/video/clouds.flv";
var listenerObject:Object = new Object();
// listen for complete event; play new FLV
listenerObject.complete = function(eventObject:Object):Void {
if (my_FLVPlybk.contentPath == "
http://www.helpexamples.com/flash/video/clouds.flv")
my_FLVPlybk.play("
http://www.helpexamples.com/flash/video/water.flv");

• Loading a Dynamic Library on Mac OSX 10.5.6: Unsatisfied Link Error: Matlab

Hi guys,
The Matlab Builder JA generates JAR files that allow you to use Matlab functions in JAVA. I have had a friend run through the process of creating the files and running them on WINDOWS and it works fine, but it fails on Mac OSX.
The program uses the JAR file displayTest2.jar, and also requires the JAR file javabuilder.jar, which are both loaded as external JARS in eclipse. My code is as follows:
{color:#0000ff}import com.mathworks.toolbox.javabuilder.*;
import displayTest2.*;
public class Tester
public static void main(String[] args) throws MWException
System.out.println("Hello");
DisplayTest2 object = new DisplayTest2();
}{color}
This gives the following output:
Hello
{color:#ff0000}Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: Failed to find the library libmwmclmcrrt.7.10.dylib, required by MATLAB Builder JA, on java.library.path

at displayTest2.DisplayTest2.<init>(DisplayTest2.java:61)
at Tester.main(Tester.java:9){color}
I have tried placing the missing library in the folders on java.library.path, but this has no effect. I have also tried loading the library like so:
{color:#0000ff}public static void main(String[] args) throws MWException
System.out.println("Hello");
System.load("/Applications/MATLAB/MATLAB_Compiler_Runtime/v710/runtime/maci/libmwmclmcrrt.7.10.dylib");
DisplayTest2 object = new DisplayTest2();
}{color}
But I get the following output:
Hello
{color:#ff0000}Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: /Applications/MATLAB/MATLAB_Compiler_Runtime/v710/runtime/maci/libmwmclmcrrt.7.10.dylib:

at java.lang.Runtime.load0(Runtime.java:770)
at java.lang.System.load(System.java:1005)
at Tester.main(Tester.java:8){color}
Is this not the correct way to load the library? I have scoured the internet to the best of my ability but can’t find any solutions. As I said it works on Windows. Is there something special that needs to happened on Mac OSX. I could just develop on Windows, but there has to be a way to make it work on Mac, right?
I appreciate any help at all so I can get on with my project!
Thanks,

We have this 48 port switch in our engineering department, and it basically stopped passing network traffic.
When connecting to the Console port and power cycling the switch, this is what I see:

I've tried to update the "SRW224G4P_SRW248G4P_image_v1310.bix" file using Xmodem download, but since I really wasn't sure how to use this boot loader tool, I haven't been successful at doing that, nor do I even know if that's the solution for the problem that I'm having.

I'm guessing that I'll need to contact Cisco tech support, although at least through their web site, they make that nearly impossible to accomplish.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what may have happened to our switch and what I should do to recover? Of course we're about to start a time-critical round of product testing, and without this switch, I'm dead in the water. And it's not like we have a spare 48-port PoE switch lying around.

Hello,
I got the same issue. After downloading and uploading the firmware, I got the following result and all LED on the switch are glowing. Could you please help on this issue? Where can I find the right firmware. I also have Image loader 1.0.1.

• Loading into the library at runtime?

I have built a flash animation (for a web site) that requires a number of decent quality JPG images. I don't display all of these at the start, so I don't want to wait for them all to load before starting the animation. Thus I want to be able to load these images in the background - the obvious process would involve MovieClipLoader.loadClip() method. This works fine if I am loading into an INSTANCE of a moveclip (either existing on the stage or one that I creat in actionscript) - but I really want to load into a library movieclip.
The problem is that I end up using these images in two different movies on the stage - each pulls from a movieclip in the library (that contains the image I want). So my original thought was simply to load (using loadClip()) into the library movie - which in turn would show up in the two stage movieclips that have this library clip in the timeline. However, I cannot seem to get loadClip() to work with a library object.
I tried exporting the library movieclip to actionscript (giving it a name) - but loadClip() doesn't seem to want to load into it. I can only get loadClip() to load into an instance that exists on the stage.
Sorry if I am asking a stupid question - I don't do a lot of flash programming - although I have extensive programming experience in other languages.
So can this be done? Is there another way to accomplish what I want to do?
I can easily load into an instance of a movieclip - but I don't want to load each image twice (into two different movieclips that I need to manipulate) - hence my desire to load into a single library object that end up having multiple instances on the stage.
My other thought was to load into an instance and then COPY that instance to the second instance. But I can't seem to find a way to copy one clip into another clip?
Any pointers would be very much appreciated.
Just to clarify, here is an example.
* I have several library movieclips (call them clip1, clip2, clip3... ) which contain a single frame with a JPG image in that frame.
* I have a library movieclip called bkgnd which has 10 frames in it. Each frame has an instance of the different clips above (e.g. frame 1 has clip1 in it, frame 2 has clip2 in it, frame 3 has clip3 in it etc). At run time, this move is manipulated through gotoAndStop() to display a particular image.
* I use this bkgnd library movieclip in TWO places on the real stage (two instances). Each is controlled through actionscript to display particular frames (particular images) through the gotoAndStop() method.
* I want to be able to load the individual images at runtime - my thought was to use loadClip() to load JPG files into the clip1, clip2, clip3... library clips. However, loadClip() doesn't seem to want to load into a library clip.

Thank you. I was able to use the bitmap class draw function to accomplish what I wanted.
It got pretty convoluted though. Used actionscript on instances of hidden movies to initiate the loading.
Had a loader bar on images when they are used - but wanted them to load asynchronously in the background (use the first while others are loading).
There are lots of little "gotchas" with this stuff, and while flash is very powerful, it is difficult to document / take apart. Because action script is all over the place and interacts in very funny ways, it can be very complicated to figure out how all the timelines mesh and what code is running when.
I have to say I am quite disappointed in a few items - one of which is that if you associate actionscript with a particular item on the stage (a movie clip), you don't see it highlighted in the timeline and you don't see it on the movie inspector. It is kind of hidden out there unless you know to look for it.
Anyway - thanks again. Definitely did the trick..... Warren

• Create flv - dynamically

Is there a method, a function or a way to have flash (or something else) create a .flv - dynamically??
I have a dynamically generated slideshow.

When call slideshow.php?=456 - another slideshow appears
I want to accomplish a video file - for each dynamically generated tour
Is that possible???

• FLVplayback Not Loading FLVs

I'm using a remote hosting service for my FLV storage (
http://www.blip.tv). When I load
FLVs remotely into my player, they just seem to load infinitely
without play control. All except for 1. There is 1 video that
actually loads and plays just fine, which indicates to me it might
not be a problem with the host.
Below are testing-purpose links. (This is a php script which
passes the flv link to my player). The first one will work and load
correctly, the second link loads forever.
http://behindlacrosse.com/videos.php?video=http://blip.tv/file/get/Treschonde-BehindLacros seEp3249.flv
http://behindlacrosse.com/videos.php?video=http://blip.tv/file/get/Treschonde-BLSummer2006 2549.flv
I've tried this with several different flv's, and only that
first one above ever loads. I'm not doing anything complex with my
code, I use the following actionscript:
_root.playback.play(vidurl);
I've traced the vidurl variable to ensure that the urls are
correct. So I'm really stumped on this one.
One more interesting note.. in Firefox, on that website
linked above, if you click on any of the other videos in the list,
they won't load. It's like the player locked up. But in Internet
Explorer, you can still click other videos to bypass the currently
loading one.
Any help or suggestions at all? I appreciate anything.

This is the way I work with videos.
Each video is in a differente frame.
Name you FLV playback like movie1, movie2, etc.
You may have a frontpage that links to each video or place a
button on the keyframe where you want specific video to play. For
example, on movie1, place a button. On movie2, place another
button.
The code below is used assuming you customized your video
controller.
// in a MovieClip named Video Controller insert a play, pause
and stop buttons and a slider//
stop();
import mx.video.*;
movi1.contentPath = "EditedFlash/Text_Edited.flv";
movi1.playButton = VideoControl.my_playButton;
movi1.pauseButton = VideoControl.my_pauseButton;
movi1.stopButton = VideoControl.my_stopButton;
movi1.seekBar=VideoControl.my_seekButton;
var cuePt:Object = new Object ();
cuePt.time =0.5;// title - no voice//
cuePt.name = "Pt1";
cuePt.type = "actionscript";
movi1.addASCuePoint(cuePt);
movi1.addASCuePoint(3.2, "Pt2");
var listenerObject:Object = new Object();
listenerObject.cuePoint = function(eventObject:Object): Void{
if(eventObject.info.name=="Pt1"){
_root.Texto.gotoAndStop("uno");
if(eventObject.info.name=="Pt2"){
_root.Texto.gotoAndStop("dos");
movi1.addEventListener("cuePoint", listenerObject);
//second cue point//
movi1.addEventListener("cuePoint", listenerObject);
listenerObject.complete = function(eventObject:Object):Void {
_root.Texto.gotoAndStop("uno");
movi1.addEventListener("complete", listenerObject);
Hope this helps.

• Load flv file

The action is incorrect to start with, so is the entire
arrangement.
If you want to load SWF, you need to load it in level or
movie clip holder
not in FLV file. It's like trying to load something in a GIF
or JPG file
on flash's timeline. Just does not work like that. Level or
holder MC only.
Secondly, if you load FLV you don't load them in holder movie
clip but into
a FLVplayback components and not with loadMovie action.
Check for FLV Playback, under the Components section in your
help files.
You will find action samples on how to set it up.
