Load xmldata

Hi,
can some one please tell me how to load xml data into to database,i could parse the data and display it but i am stuck with inserting that data into the database tables
i am using xml parser for plsql
Thankyou,
Sudheer

Sudheer,
I havent used the xml parser for PLSQL
directly, put heres something you
could do ....using the XSQLServlet
Since you already have the XML file.
Why dont you create an XSQL file
with a xsql:insert-request tag that
puts the data in using a tranform
XSL sheet that converts your
input XML file to the canonical form
of the table.
There is pretty decent documentation regardin
this toward the end of the release notes
for the XSQL servlet.
hope that helps.
cheers,
Vijay

  • Dataset error on MAC for linked file

    Hello all,
    I am trying to make use of Variables panel in Illustrator CS6 Mac version. I added a Path variable. Then placed an image in the document and added a variable for the link file. Created two datasets with default names. Then when I try to switch between two datasets it gives me error "The filter cannot complete because of an unknown error".
    On PC it works fine on Mac why the Variable palette is not working. Am I missing anything here. If I just have Path or Text Variables it works fine.
    Please do let me know.
    Thanks all in Advance.
    Regards
    Farzana.

    Hi Laura,
    If you are using SBO 2004 you should not be using this method of loading the srf form (Loadbatch actions is for SBO 6.5). Here is code in VB .Net the load it - you can convert it (I don't have it in c#).
    Private Sub btnXMLForm67_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnXMLForm67.Click
    Dim oXMLDoc As New System.Xml.XmlDocument
    Dim xmlData As String = "C:\Training2004\Code\SBOTest\VideoStore\XMLForms\AddMovie.srf"
            Dim oForm As SAPbouiCOM.Form
            Dim creationPackage As SAPbouiCOM.FormCreationParams
            'Create the FormCreationParams object
            creationPackage = oAppObj.SBO_App.CreateObject( _
            SAPbouiCOM.BoCreatableObjectType.cot_FormCreationParams)
            'Specify the parameters in the object
            creationPackage.UniqueID = "SOS_MyFormID"
            creationPackage.FormType = "60004"
            creationPackage.BorderStyle = SAPbouiCOM.BoFormBorderStyle.fbs_Fixed
            oXMLDoc.load(xmlData)
            'Just a sample for a XML string describing a form… same as used for LoadBatchActions
            creationPackage.XmlData = oXMLDoc.InnerXml
            'Add the form to the SBO application
            Try
                oForm = oAppObj.SBO_App.Forms.AddEx(creationPackage)
            Catch ex As Exception
                Exit Sub
            End Try
            'Set the form title and visibility
            oForm.Title = oForm.Title & "-2004"
            oForm.Visible = True
        End Sub

  • XML data optimization

    Hi all,
    I have developed a Flex form for LCES 8.2.1 SP2 with multiple tabs. It looks like a whole flex application.
    Now the problem is the XML data is very big. I generate 1 sample XML data and the size is about 1.4 MB.
    Everytime user opens and submits the form, the 1.4 MB XML data will go from server to client, then to server and to subsequent steps in workflow.
    Is there any way to optimize it? E.g. divide xml data into multiple nodes base on  form's tabs and load xmldata node only when viewing that tab?
    E.g:
    Flex form has 2 tab Application and Process,
    xmldata has 2 nodes
    <xml>
         <application>...</application>
         <process>...</process>
    <xml>
    And we load only <application> part of xml when user view Application tab. Is is possible?
    Thank you and regards,
    Anh, Vu Tuan

    Yes, there is a book named "Oracle® Database SecureFiles and Large Objects Developer's Guide" in Oracle Database 11gR1 and 11gR2 documentation. And no, the "sliding" changes are not mentioned in this guide. So, I am searching for information from other sources.
    The following is just my speculation: Sliding changes is new internal method of applying some kinds of changes to the securefile LOB values. It is dependent on the internal storage format of securefile LOBs and offers better performance. The people that write Oracle Database Documentation have decided not to include any information about these internal solutions. But a few lines "slipped away".

  • Error on LoadBatchActions for XML file

    I am trying to load a screen painter form which I have saved as an xml file.  My code worked last week.  I haven't changed anything.  I don't know why it gives me an error now, maybe someone can help me?
    Here is my code:
    private void LoadFromXML(string FileName )
      try
      XmlDocument oXmlDoc = new System.Xml.XmlDocument();     string sPath;
              sPath = "D:
    SAP
    Direct
    DirectControls";
              string sFile = sPath + "
    " + FileName;
              oXmlDoc.Load( sFile );
              string sXML = oXmlDoc.InnerXml;
              SBO_Application.LoadBatchActions( ref sXML );
         catch ( Exception ex )
              string s = ex.Message;
    It blows up on SBO_Application.LoadBatchActions( ref sXML ); and gives me an error of Object Does Not Exist.  I know it finds the xml file as I can see that it does.  Anyone have any suggestions?
    Thanks!

  • Help! - Variables (Edit: Wait Function??)

    Hi all,
    Is there any way Flex can start a function, wait for
    something like data to load before returning the function's value.
    In my instance, I'm loading XML with a HTTPService and I'm
    sure it's returning the value of the function before waiting for
    the HTTPService to complete as per the eventListener.
    EG:
    public function getData():String {
    //Load HTTPService data...
    //Data complete eventListener...
    //Wait until data has been processed...
    return data;
    Any and all help appreciated...
    Thanks.
    Oz

    Thanks Tracy,
    I think I've finally sorted out how I need to achieve it and
    I know where it's going wrong.
    I'm trying to load XML data into a function called by a
    variable, thus the return aspect.
    But in the time it takes for the data to load (even using an
    eventListener) the function has returned it's value, which is none.
    What I think I need to do is something like this:
    Function {
    load xmlData using HTTPService
    on load complete eventListener {
    transfer loaded xmlData into varXmlData variable
    Wait until
    varXmlData has been filled
    return varXmlData;
    Hopefully, that makes sense, my code's a bit too long to
    post.
    So I can either bodgy a:
    While(varXmlData == "") {
    Do something pointless
    Or, some programming languages have a Wait(interval) or
    Sleep(interval) function so they wait for the required interval
    before continuing.
    However, as far as I can tell these languages all seem to be
    Multi-Threaded, so it looks like I have to go the bodgy way.
    I'll give it a shot and let you know.
    Thanks for you help.

  • XML not loading in SWF

    Please, please someone help. I have been at this for days and can't see the woods for the trees any more.
    I have a swf embedded in a htm file. I pass FlashVars to it with a view to setting colours for symbols already in the swf.
    No matter what I do I simply cannot get the xml loaded. Can someone help and have a look at the following code and tell me where I am going wrong.
    I am using Flash CS4/AS 3. The default class is com.main and all .AS files are located in a folder 'com' within the root. All fla. .swf and  .xml files are located in the root.

  • Getting ORA-22805 when trying to load XML file using SQLLDR

    I'm trying to learn the basics of XML since we'll be getting XML files in the near future. I'm using one of the sample schemas that comes with XMLSPY. I loaded this schema into an 11g Oracle DB using XMLSPY:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

    The load fails with:
    Record 1: Rejected - Error on table PURCHASEORDER.
    ORA-22805: cannot insert NULL object into object tables or nested tables
    Another question I have is, how do we know how many records (0's) to specify in the control file? In this case there's only one but when real files are used we won't know how many are in the file.
    Thanks for your help!

    The concept was "Don't use SQL*Loader to parse XML".
    You can use SQL*Loader to load an entire XML document into the DB. That is fine. You can do the same via BFILENAME to read in files from disk as well.
    If you want to parse XML, do that from within Oracle via PL/SQL and/or SQL. The solution depends upon your version of Oracle and what is good enough for you in terms of performance.
    So the basics are
    a) How am I getting the information?
    b) How am I getting in into Oracle?
    c) How do I want to parse it?
    As I see the schema, it only allows for one ipo:purchaseOrder node in the document, since that is the root node. If you have multiple in the incoming file, you no longer have valid XML, both per the schema and because you have no single root node. You have an XML fragment, which must be treated different.
    Just trying to understand the question since I now realize it does not agree with what the schema in your initial example shows.

  • How do I script SWF files instead of JPG files in XML loader?

    I have a SWF loader (greensock.com platform) and a thumbnail image scroll underneath it made of small image buttons. Each image button has a link which loads a new SWF file into the SWF loader above. Here is the code for each button which loads the bigger SWF file into the loader above:
    Button3.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, Button3_PlayPopUp);
    function Button3_PlayPopUp(event:MouseEvent): void {
        //setting the sourceVar
        sourceVar="3.swf";
        //making the SWFLoader load
        //as setting the soureVar after the SWFLoader is created won't do anything unlesss
        //I also re-create the SWFLoader with the new sourceVar when the button is clicked
        loader_howToLoader2.url = sourceVar;
        loader_howToLoader2.load(true);
    Then I decided to load all button via XML loader. I followed the tutorial on XML loaders which deals with loading jpg images and assigning URL links to them in the following manner first in XML file:
    <image src="appThmb_imgs/appThmb_imgs117x175/A-illuminatorUpLit_117x175.jpg" title="UpDownGlowingVase" url="http://www.888acolyte.com"/>
    and then in AS3 like this:
    var xmlLoader:URLLoader = new URLLoader();
    thisOne.link = imageList[item].attribute("url");
    function clickScrollerItem(e:MouseEvent):void {
    //trace("clicked item " + e.currentTarget.itemNum + " - visit url: " + e.currentTarget.link);
    var urlRequest:URLRequest = new URLRequest(e.currentTarget.link);
    try {
    navigateToURL(urlRequest);
    catch (e:Error) {
    // handle error here
    trace(e);
    My question is: How do I apply the code to each individual small thumbnail button to load a bigger image into the SWF loader above? Do I have to add something to XML file or this way it will never work with jpg images? Can url in XML file set the source var (//setting the sourceVar), since they are all individual and then somehow apply the making SWL loader to load part (//making the SWFLoader load) as a standard somewhere in the AS3 code?

    O.K. Here is my COMPLETE function.
    xmlLoader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, LoadXML);
    function LoadXML(e:Event):void {
        trace("xml load complete");
        xmlData = new XML(e.target.data);
        //trace(xmlData.image); //we'll see each image xml element listed in the output panel with this xmlList
        buildScroller(xmlData.image); //rather than trace the xmlList, we send it to our buildScroller function
    //build scroller from xml
    function buildScroller(imageList:XMLList):void{
        trace("build Scroller");
        //var scroller_x:int=0;
        for (var item:uint = 0; item<imageList.length();item++) {
            var thisOne:MovieClip = new MovieClip();
            //thisOne.img_width=imageList[item].attribute("width");
            //outline
            var blackBox:Sprite = new Sprite();
            blackBox.graphics.beginFill(0xFFFFFF);
            blackBox.graphics.drawRect(-1, -1, 86, 128);//-1,-1 places rectangle 1px left and up.86, 128 draws rectangle 1px wider on all sides of placed image dimenstions of 84x126
            thisOne.addChild(blackBox);
            //scroller_x += thisOne.img_width + 20;
            //var currentX = currentImageWidth+spaceBetween;//modified line to adjust variable thumb widths
            thisOne.x = (84 + padding) *item;//84 is the width of the loaded images and 15 (which was before paddign var) is the padding
            //thisOne.x = scroller_x;//modified line to adjust variable thumb widths
            thisOne.itemNum = item;
            thisOne.title = imageList[item].attribute("title");
            thisOne.link = imageList[item].attribute("url");
            thisOne.src = imageList[item].attribute("src");
            thisOne.alpha = 0;//makes all thumb images at alpha=0 before they are fully loaded
            //trace(thisOne.itemNum, thisOne.title, thisOne.link, thisOne.src);
            //Loading and Adding the Images
            //image container
            var thisThumb:MovieClip = new MovieClip();
            //add image
            var ldr:Loader = new Loader();
            //var url:String = imageList[item].attribute("src");
            var urlReq:URLRequest = new URLRequest(thisOne.src);
            trace("loading thumbnail "+item+" into Scroller: " + thisOne.src);//url
            ldr.load(urlReq);
            //assign event listeners for Loader
            ldr.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE,completeHandler);//tells us when the loading is complete
            ldr.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(IOErrorEvent.IO_ERROR, errorHandler);//tells us if there are any typo errors when the loading is complete
            thisThumb.addChild(ldr);
            thisOne.addChild(thisThumb);
            //create listeners for this thumb
            thisOne.buttonMode = true;//makes boxes act as buttons
            thisOne.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, clickScrollerItem);//makes boxes act as buttons
            thisOne.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_OVER, overScrollerItem);//traces the title when the mouse is over the bounding box in the Output Panel
            thisOne.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_OUT, outScrollerItem);//traces the title when the mouse is out the bounding box in the Output Panel
            //add item
            scroller.addChild(thisOne);
    But I am not sure if I expressed myself clearly. All what you have indicated happens. Images are being loaded and url strings are working. I can not figure out how to tweek the code so instead of url specified in xml file I can load swf image into the SWF loader on the same screen?

  • Xml file not loading from different server

    Hi,
    I have a simple flash banner that is pulling a number from an xml file on a different server. When it gets to the frame where the number should be it just says "transferring data from eckul.com" and will not actually pull in the number. Unfortunately I can't put the files on the same servers. Any help would be much appreciated, below are the links and the xml code I'm using followed by the action script. Cheers
    http://www.sainters.net/newsletters/2010/flash_test_membership2.html
    http://www.eckul.com/number.xml
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <inventors>
        <person>
            <name>892</name>
            </inventors>
    function loadXML(loaded) {
    if (loaded) {
    _root.inventor = this.firstChild.childNodes[0].childNodes[0].firstChild.nodeValue;
    _root.comments = this.firstChild.childNodes[0].childNodes[1].firstChild.nodeValue;
    name_txt.text = _root.inventor;
    comment_txt.text = _root.comments;
    } else {
      trace("file not loaded!");
    xmlData = new XML();
    xmlData.ignoreWhite = true;
    xmlData.onLoad = loadXML;
    xmlData.load("http://www.eckul.com/number.xml");

    so, in frame 1 of your fla before you execute that cross-domain load method, use:
    System.security.loadPolicyFile("http:www.yourcrossdomain.com/subdirectoriesIfNeeded/crossd omain2.xml");
    where the following (crossdomain.xml) is in www.yourcrossdomain.com's root (IF you want to allow allow subdirectory policy files):
    <!DOCTYPE cross-domain-policy SYSTEM "http://www.adobe.com/xml/dtds/cross-domain-policy.dtd">
    <cross-domain-policy>
    <site-control permitted-cross-domain-policies="all"/>
    </cross-domain-policy>
    and in the subdirectory (and its descendents) that you want to allow access put crossdomain2.xml:
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <!DOCTYPE cross-domain-policy SYSTEM "http://www.macromedia.com/xml/dtds/cross-domain-policy.dtd">
    <cross-domain-policy>
      <allow-access-from domain="www.thedomainthatstryingtoloadcrossdomaindata.com" />
    </cross-domain-policy>

  • How can I load this XML with sql loader ?

    Hi,
    Im try to load a XML file into a XML table:
    Create table TEST of XMLTYPE;
    XML file is something like this:
    <!DOCTYPE list SYSTEM "myfile.dtd">
    <list>
    <item id = 1> lot of tags an info here </item>
    <item id = 9000> lot of tags an info here </item>
    </list>
    I dont know how to exactly create an appropriate control file to my XML. All examples I saw in documentation are similar to this one:
    this is an example control file
    LOAD DATA
    INFILE *
    INTO TABLE test
    APPEND
    XMLTYPE (xmldata)
    FIELDS
    I dont know how to complete this control file. Can anyone help me ?
    thank you!

    Well I found this working code
    LOAD DATA
    INFILE *
    INTO TABLE test APPEND
    xmltype(xmldata)
    FIELDS
    ext_fname filler char(30),
    xmldata LOBFILE (ext_fname) TERMINATED BY EOF
    BEGINDATA
    mifile.xml
    mifile2.xml
    mifile3.xml
    the main diference I found is that when i use:
    Insert into test values (XMLType(bfilename('XMLDIR', 'swd_uC000025127.xml'),nls_charset_id('AL32UTF8')));
    tag <!DOCTYPE list SYSTEM "myfile.dtd"> is expanded
    (I explain at DTD insertion and errors with long DTD entities
    Now using sql loader the tag is not modified.
    I dont know if is there any difference, between each case. did I lost performance?

  • How do I Load a clob from an XML field in an XMLTYPE using XMLTABLE ?

    I am trying to load data into a CLOB from a XML field using XMLTABLE.
    I have a SUMMARY xml field with over 100 K of data (potentialy)
    and I can load all the other datatype fields to columns but can not load the xml fields over 4000 characters.
    example
    First I create a table of XMLTYPE. I need to sqlload new files in at regular intervals.
    Create table WEB_XML of XMLTYPE;
    Then I create my relational table....
    create table WEB_WORKING
    request_id varchar(10),
    ref_number varchar(20),
    summary clob
    The I use the .ctl file to sqlload the xml data in
    LOAD DATA
    INFILE *
    INTO TABLE WEB_XML
    append
    xmltype(XMLDATA)
    ext_fname filler char(90),
    XMLDATA LOBFILE(ext_fname) TERMINATED BY EOF
    BEGINDATA
    XMLFILE1.xml
    After loading the WEB_XML table using sqlldr, I try to load my relational table using XMLTable
    INSERT into WEBBAR_WORKING
    request_id ,
    ref_number ,
    summary
    SELECT X.* FROM WEB_XML P2,
    XMLTable ( '//Request//REQUESTVIEW'
    PASSING P2.object_value
    COLUMNS
    "request_id" VARCHAR(10) PATH 'REQUEST_ID',
    "ref_number" VARchar(20) PATH 'REF_NUMBER',
    "SUMMARY" clob PATH 'SUMMARY'
    ) AS X;
    This gives an error saying its not expecting clob
    My XML looks somthing like
    -<Request>
    -<REQUESTVIEW>
    <REQUEST_ID>3140</REQUEST_ID>
    <ref_number>2003-04-02</RECEIVED_DATE>
    <SUMMARY>
    OVER 100 K of data
    </SUMMARY>
    </REQUESTVIEW>
    </Request>

    ok
    that helped lot, im getting there however some more help please
    This SQL
    SELECT request_id, recieved_by, X.SUMMARY.getClobVal()
    FROM WEB_XML P2,
    XMLTable
    '//Request//REQUESTVIEW'
    PASSING P2.object_value
    COLUMNS
    "request_id" VARCHAR(10) PATH 'REQUEST_ID',
    "received_by" VARCHAR(10) PATH 'RECEIVED_BY',
    "SUMMARY" xmltype PATH 'SUMMARY'
    ) AS X;
    SELECT request_id, recieved_by, X.SUMMARY.getClobVal()
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-00904: "RECIEVED_BY": invalid identifier
    If I use the X.request_id, X.received_by ......
    i get the error message
    Package or function is in aan invalid state.
    But this SQL was successful in getting the clob by itself but with the XML tgs around it still, how do I strip the XML tags from around this result ?
    SELECT X.SUMMARY.getClobVal()
    FROM WEBBAR_XML P2,
    XMLTable
    '//Request//REQUESTVIEW'
    PASSING P2.object_value
    COLUMNS
    "SUMMARY" XMLTYPE PATH 'SUMMARY'
    ) AS X;

  • Sqlldr is loading only 1st record from xml document

    Hi,
    I am trying to load XML doc with multiple records using sql*loader.
    I have registered my XSD perfectly.
    This is my control file
    LOAD DATA
    INFILE *
    INTO TABLE Orders APPEND
    XMLType(xmldata)
    FIELDS(
         xmldata LOBFILE (CONSTANT FULDTL_2.xml)
    TERMINATED BY '???')
    BEGINDATA
    FULDTL_2.xml
    -- Here, what I have to give for TERMINATED BY '???'
    My xml doc
    <Order ID="146120486" Status="CL" Comments="Shipped On 08/05/2008"/>
    <Order ID="143417590" Status="CL" Comments="Handset/Device has been received at NRC" ShipDate=""/>
    sqlldr is loading only 1st record from the file.
    How can I make it to load all the records from my xml doc.
    Thanks in advance.

    thanks for both the replies above - essentially the same correct solution.
    something worth noting now that I've written and tested both a SAX solution and a DOM solution is that there is a significant (4 x) time penalty using SAX.
    I considering dividing the vector I am storing/recovering into chunks and saving each chunk separately using DOM to speed things up...
    any thoughts on this approach?

  • Loading data from xml file - please help

    Hi, I am new to attempting to get data from an xml file load
    in flash. I followed a tutorial in a new fla and it seemed to work
    fine, I then tried to adapt it to my own needs which worked fine.
    But then when trying to implement this into my news section it
    doesn't seem to work.
    I am trying to make a news section, that displays the date
    and news article. This is in within a movie clip, I even tried
    putting it in the timeline of the scene but still nothing.
    - I have 2 dynamic text boxes, date_txt and news_txt
    - The xml file is named news.xml,
    - both the fla and the xml are in the same folder
    This is the actionscript I am using:
    function loadXML(loaded) {
    if (loaded) {
    _root.thedate =
    this.firstChild.childNodes[0].childNodes[0].firstChild.nodeValue;
    _root.thenews =
    this.firstChild.childNodes[0].childNodes[1].firstChild.nodeValue;
    date_txt.text = _root.thedate;
    news_txt.text = _root.thenews;
    } else {
    trace("file not loaded!");
    xmlData = new XML();
    xmlData.ignoreWhite = true;
    xmlData.onLoad = loadXML;
    xmlData.load("news.xml");
    This is what I have in the xml document:
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <news>
    <article>
    <date>date</date>
    <news>newentry.</news>
    </article>
    <article>
    <date>Doug Engelbart</date>
    <news>Invented the mouse at the Stanford Research
    Institute</news>
    </article>
    </news>
    Does anyone perhaps have any ideas of what the problem could
    be?
    Help much appreciated.

    Hi
    _root refers to the Main Timeline, if your date_txt and
    news_txt are in a movieclip ie: news_mc
    then your path should read _root.news_mc.date_txt.text and
    _root.news_mc.news_txt.text
    You will also need to embed the characters you wish to use
    inside your dymanic text for it to show.
    Hope it helps

    create table test_xml_sfg of xmltype

    );I originally wanted to use SQL*Loader to test performance, as I may have to load multiple files in the same time.
    It works great on 10gR2 and 11gR2 with XML files up to 100 MB loaded in a matter of minutes.
    However, a little issue with 10gR1 :
    SQLLDR control file
    LOAD DATA
    INFILE 'filelist.txt'
    APPEND
    INTO TABLE test_xml_sfg
    XMLTYPE(XMLDATA) (
    filename filler char(260),
    XMLDATA LOBFILE(filename) TERMINATED BY EOF
    )with filelist.txt :
    sfgtest.xmlExecution throws "ORA-19007: Schema - does not match expected sfgtest.xsd".
    As per the documentation, it's expected behaviour in 10.1 :
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14117_01/appdev.101/b10790/xdb03usg.htm#BABECCBG
    The XML document must include the appropriate attributes from the XMLSchema-instance namespace or the XML document must be explicitly associated with the XML schema using the XMLType constructor or the createSchemaBasedXML() method.Also as expected, the file is loaded OK after adding the following in the root element :
    xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="sfgtest.xsd"But, as I don't have any latitude on the files received (i.e. I can't add the location hint), is there some workaround, when using SQL*Loader, to treat the XML file as an instance document?
    Thanks for any solution/idea.

    Not sure if it will work, but out of the top of my head I would make an attempt to create an view (for update) based on the XMLType table and do the insert via the view, matching the incoming XML doc to the schema via
    xmltype(xml_messsage).createSchemaBasedXML(xml_schema)
