Loading DATE datatype into a measure

Is there any way to load DATE values into a measure? Is yes, how?
I'm using OLAP 10G.

Hi Richard,
This suggests to me that timezone is a feature, and that specifying the UTC time is required. Perhaps others can add more detail.

Two questions:
One, if it's a serial card, then presumably it gives you more serial ports, like COM3, COM4, etc. If so, VISA would see the COM ports, and not the card directly. The drivers for the card should make it so that you see the extra serial ports from the OS. If you don't see the extra COM ports from VISA, then it sounds like the drivers for the card are not installed properly. Do the extra COM ports show up in Device Manager?
Two, you said that you're using a Call Library function to get the data and you want to put it into system memory. Errr.... you just read the data and you have it in memory by definition. Are you saying you need a way to parse the data so it shows up on a graph or something?

Load Clob datatype into xml db

Please can I know how to load clob datatype in xml database.
In Oracle Data Integrator mapping, my source is clob column and target is xml db.
I get error “incompatible data type in conversion”.
Please can I get some help in resolving the issue.

Loaded data amount into cube and data monitor amount

Hi,
when I load data into the cube the inserted data amount in the administrator section shows 650000 data sets. The monitor of that request shows a lot of data packages. When I sum the data packages, the sum is about 700000 data sets.
Where is the difference coming from?

   If it is a full load to the cube , all the records are updated in it since in a cube data can be overwritten.
   If it is a delta load and u want to see why the difference occurs between the records transferred and added in cube ,
   u can go to the manage tab in dso , go to the contents tab ,there click change log button at the below , check the number of entries in that table , the number of entries are the added records in cube since only these records are the new records other records with the same key are already present in the cube.

SQL* Loader to load data format into tables??????

Hai I am very much new to Oracle. I am trying to load data into a table using SQL*Loader and i getting error while it is using the data format.
the format used in data file is "Sep 6 2001 12:00:00:000AM"
and when i used to_date( :accountDate, 'YYYY-MM-DD HH:MI:SS AM or PM') function it throws me an exception like
"ORA-01821: date format not recognized". so anybody can help me to insert data with out changing the data file, whould be really helpfull

Also it looks like you need to change your date format mask.
If your data is formatted as "Sep 6 2001 12:00:00:000AM"
then you should use to_date( :accountDate, 'Mon DD YYYY HH:MI:SSAM')
This will work with a two digit second field, but not a three digit second field.

Loading data simultaneously into an ODS

Loading data into an ODS from two or three infosources.
Is it better to load them one after the other or can you start them all at the same time?
I am loading data from two infosources at the same time I dont receive any errors, but I dont know if this is likely to cause errors when I load larger amounts of data.
Please give some advice?

Why don't you try it to see if error DTP is possible with a flat file ds or not?
Or, extrapolate logically -
- An error DTP is based on a regular DTP.
- In any situation where you can have a DTP, why can you not have an error DTP? I would think there would be no reason for this.
At this point of my reasoning I will give it a try to validate if my assumption (DTP possible==>Error DTP possible) is correct or not.

How to load data dynamically into target tables using files as a source

Hi ,
My scenario needs a single interface to load the data of 5 different files into five target tables using a single interface. All target tables have the same structure. It is possible to point to variable source files using ODI. But the same approach is not working with Database tables. I am getting errors while trying to make my target /source table as a dynamic one.
Can anybody suggest anything. The last option would be writing a dynamic PL/SQL block in the KM. Any other suggestions friends ?

After creating a pair of identical source and target tables, I have carried out the following steps:
I am trying just keeping the target as variable
a)created a one to one interface,
b)tested that it is running.
c)created a variable(type =text),
d)used the variable as #v_name in the resource of the target table datastore.
e)in a package used the variable in a set variable step (first step).
f) used the interface as the second step.
g)executed the same in my context.
the <project_code>.variable_name is not getting substituted in the sql_code that is generated by the KM. My KM is SQL Control Append and following is the code that it generates in the Insert into I$ step:

Xml data upload into tables using loader

I have to load XML file data into multiple tables using sqlloader. i wrote a cotrol file to execute this ,but i was not able to load the data into multiple tables at the same time, first loading table in control file is able to load the data ,rest of the load is giving error,please refer the below control file and log. When there are multiple tables in a control file, SQL Loader assumes the data for the first file in the second table immediately follows the last field in the first table. Sql loader - loading data into database problem

I am facing problem in loading data using ctl file and a data file into oracle db.
The table I am entering has the following structure:

I tried a lot with MOD_DATE format since it was showing the error null cannot be inserted and other errors were also encountered.
My problem statement is :
I want the default date as current_timestamp in the format "'YYYYMMDDHH24MISS" else the date that comes from the data file to be loaded into oracle db.
I can't alter the DDL only ctl can be altered to get to the solution.
I am new to this , kindly help.

1) Wrong format, you wont get much support loading OLAP cubes in here I think.
2) Has your CSV file been anywhere near excel by chance the conversion of 20071113121100 to 2.00711E+13 looks very much like what I see when Excel has an invalid number mask / precision specified for a cell.
*** We are using EBS. File was already generated by consultants through SQL query. Getting error while loading though Informatica. Target table is setup as date datatype and source is String(19).
Expression in Informatica is setup as below.
IIF(ISNULL(CREATED_ON_DT), NULL, TO_DATE(CREATED_ON_DT, 'YYYYMMDDHH24MISS'))

SQL Loader DATE type error

I am having a problem while loading data from flat file to oracle. The flat file contains date and time in a single field and I want to insert that value into a column in oracle of DATE datatype.

Sql loader: loading external file into blob

hi,
i keep being blocked by loading external binary files into a blob columns with sql loader tool.
Here is the problem:
I want to load pictures into a table with lob columns. Here is my control file, data file and the error message:
control file:
LOAD DATA
APPEND
INTO TABLE T_K58_SYMBOLE
FIELDS TERMINATED BY ';' TRAILING NULLCOLS

My data file is:

and images are in the same server. please help me to get out of this.
