Local Contract management (PCTR)

Hi Friend,
Business scenario: Extended Classic Scenario (ECS)
We planning to implement local contract management (PCTR) in SRM7.0 and also contract should available to requester to create SC and after Purchase order gets created.
Could you please tell us the configuration and technical details.
Appreciate your valuable inputs.
Thank You!
Shrini

Hi,
Just to remind; as you are impelementing Local Contract Management;  contracts you will create, will not be updated in ECC.
You can create contract using puchaser log in. Assign role u2018operational purchaseru2019 to the purchaser.
You will see contract (material) in Source of Supply of SC.

  • Central Contract Management in case of Classic Scenario

    Hi,
At our current implementation, requirement is to implement both Service procurement(with hierarchy) and Central Conract Management. I was exploring the possibility of utilizing Central Contract Management with Classic scenario.
Will the Central Contracts created in this fashion be available in Sourcing Cockpit for the buyer to select against Purchase Requisitions? Will the Central Contract be visible at all in SRM in this case ?
Please respond only with reference to Classic scenario.
    Thanks,
    Abhilash

Yes the Central Contract will be available in the Sourcing Cockpit, both local and classic scenario's. Yes the Central Contracts will be available for the creation of Purchase Requisitions in R/3 and to assign SOS in R/3.
Do know that for SRM 7.0 PI is required for setting up Central Contracts. This is promised to change with the release of EHP1 for SRM (due june 2010).
    Kind regards,
    Tim

  • Adding a domain user to the admin role within the local user management breaks all metro apps for all users!!

    Hi,
I have posted this in another large thread under the "Windows 8 General" group but have not had any appropriate feedback from MS.
After hours of testing and working with other users I have managed to isolate a simple situation that breaks all metro ui applications within Windows 8 for all users on the machine. Here are my exact steps and notes.
Before continuing if you are running Avast then your solution may be to turn of the behaviour shield functionality as this also breaks metro apps. This is NOT the problem we are having!
I have performed 3 cleans installs after isolating the problem and am able to reproduce the issue every time using the same steps on two different machines.
First thing to say is that for us it has nothing to do with simply joining the domain, domain/group policies nor does it appear to have anything to do with the software we installed, the problem here is much more simple but the result is pretty terrible.
Here are my exact steps of what I did to reproduce our problem:
Complete format of HDD in preperation for a clean install
    Clean install performed
Set up the machine initially with a local account
Test metro apps - all working fine
Open control panel from the desktop, click on System, change the system to join the domain, click reboot
Log into the system using my domain account
Test metro apps - all working fine
Here's were the problem starts. I need my domain account to have admin rights on the local machine so I can install programs without the IT men having to come over and enter their password every 5 mins.
I go to control panel via the desktop and click on User Accounts. From with here I then click on "Manage User Accounts". This requires the IT guys to enter their details to give me access to such functionality. This is fine
In the dialog box that opens I can only see the local user that was initially created during setup. The "Group" for this local account shows as "Administrators" - Image included below (important to note that metro apps are working at this point)
I click add and then add my domain account - also giving it administrator access
Sign off or reboot to ensure the new security is applied
Sign back in to the domain account
    Test metro - ALL BROKEN
    Sign out
    Sign in as local account
Test Metro - NOW ALL BROKEN FOR THIS USER ALSO
So as soon as I add my domain account to the local user accounts and set it as admin it breaks all metro apps for all users. This is on a totally clean install with nothing at all installed other than the OS.
Annoyingly if I go back and change the domain account to a standard user or if I totally remove the domain account from the local account management system the problem does not go away for either user. basically it is now permanently broken. The only fix I
could fathom was a full re install and not giving the domain user admin access to the local  machine.
Screen one - this is the local user accounts window AFTER joining the domain and logging in with my domain account (All metro apps working at this point)
Screen 2: User accounts AFTER joining the domain and AFTER adding domain account to local user management (METRO BROKEN)
I have isolated my machine from all group policies so nothing like that is affecting me. Users I have spoken to in different companies have policies that automatically add users to the local user management. This means that metro apps break as
soon as they join the domain which leads them to wrongly think it is group policies causing the error. Once they isolate themselves from this they can reproduce following my steps.
    Thanks

    Hi Juke,
Thank you for the response and apologies for the delay in getting back to you. My machine was running a long task so I couldn't try your suggested solution.
I had already tried running the registry merge suggested at the top of the thread to no avail. I had not tried deleting the OLE key totally so I did that and the problem still exists. I will post all the errors I see in event viewer below. For
your info, since posting my initial comment I have sent out my steps to 7 different people and we can all reproduce the problem. This comes to 10 different machines (3 of them mine then the other guys) in 3 different businesses / domains. We see the same errors
    in event viewer.
Under "Windows Logs" --> "Application" : I get two separate error events the first reads "Activation of app winstore_cw5n1h2txyewy!Windows.Store failed with error: The app didn't start. See the Microsoft-Windows-TWinUI/Operational log for additional
information." The second arrives in the log about 15 seconds after the first and reads "App winstore_cw5n1h2txyewy!Windows.Store did not launch within its allotted time."
Under "Windows Logs" --> "System" : I get one error that reads "The server Windows.Store did not register with DCOM within the required timeout."
Under "Applications And Services Logs" --> "Microsoft" -->  "Windows" --> "Apps" --> "Microsoft-Windows-TWinUI/Operational" : I get one error that reads "Activation of the app winstore_cw5n1h2txyewy!Windows.Store for the
Windows.Launch contract failed with error: The app didn't start."
If you require any further information just let me know and I will provide as much as I can.
    Thanks

  • SRM - Contract management - product category - SRM 5.0

    Hello,
The product category was set as mandatory field in the contract management.
By creating a contract or modifying an existing one, a product category must be selected.
When I'm connected in English, i can use product category search function, and all the product category are populated.
I'm so able to select a product category in the contract
But when I'm connected in French, it is impossible to use the search function because no values are populated.
I already check the transaction COMM_HIERARCHY, but English and French are already set.
    Thank you for help.

    1. GOA+LOcal contract = Central contratct.pls coreect me
:- Basically Central Contracts are created in SRM and copied to ECC. Then after you can refer that contract as GOA.
    2. When the central contract is created in SRM is it dcistributed as Contract or Scheduling agreeemtn in ECC.
    :- It's distributed as Contract.
    3. Also, in SRM 7.0 is it possible to create contract directly in ecc from the sourcing cockpit.
:- No; it's not possible. You have to create contract in SRM first then you can distribute it to ECC.

  • Contract Management for CCM 1.0 items ? (Not in backend)

    Hi guys,
I would like to enable Contract Management (Local & Global) in my SRM 4.0 sp8 environment.    However, 90% of the catalog items in CCM (4,000 articles aprox) do not exist in the backend.
My very simple question is: Should I create all this 4000 items in the backend in order to enable contract management in SRM ?
Thanks for your valuable help guys !

  • SRM addon with Contract Management

    SRM Gurus,
We are in the verge of installing SAP SRM system. Our main focus will be on :
    1. SSP
    2. Contract Management
    3. Catalog Management
Please clarify what are the pros and cons of using SRM as ADD-on or SRM as seperate instrance.
If we can use contract management with SRM addon as a leading contract system without creating them in ECC6.0
    Kaushik

The SRM AddOn is targeting on customers that are aiming on a simple procurement scenario, do not yet use mySAP SRM, are using only one Backend (ECC) system and aim to install SRM with a low TCO.
The following scenarios are released within the SRM AddOn:
    Service Procurement (local deployment)
    Self-Service Procurement (classic deployment)
SUS in connection with both scenarios mentioned above
    Catalog Content Management
    This also includes:
operational usage of contracts (e.g. for the assignment of sources of supply)
RFP - as far as known from the Temporary Labor scenario
Please be aware that the following deployment and migration constraints apply:
ERP 2005 with SRM as an add-on does not support any multiple-backend functions or hub deployment for procurement
Upgrade or migration from an existing SRM system to ERP 2005 with SRM as an add-on is not supported.
SAP does not offer migration paths from an SRM AddOn deployment to a deployment with a standalone SRM system.
The extended classic deployment is not supported.
The SRM as an add-on is only supported in the release combination ERP 6.0 and SRM 5.0. Other release combinations are not supported. Also future SRM releases will not run as an add-on on ERP 6.0

  • Problem with running contract manager under WLS as windows service

I am having a problem running Contract Manager V13 as a windows service. I am using weblogic 10gR3 app server running under Windows 2008 sp2 (32 bit). The system functions just fine if run as an application from the command line. When I use the Oracle install contract manager as admin server (using jrockit) script from Oracle support, the service installs OK, but when starting I get:
+"The contract-mgr-svc-jrockit service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs."+
Has anyone run into this problem of windows services not working? If so how did you fix it?
How are others starting contract manager automatically under Weblogic server, without having to do a manual startup?
I am dealing with this disclaimer from Oracle:
Disclaimer: Contract Management has not been officially tested with WebLogic as a Windows service. If experiencing a problem under this configuration that cannot be reproduced, while running as an application, the solution be to run Contract Management as an application.
and have been working with Oracle support for 2-3 weeks now on this problem without any luck.
Is the situation with using Windows services better if I use JBoss application server? Does Oracle officially support Windows service running with JBoss?
    Thanks in advance...

What account is the service running under? It may be that the service does not have access to the folders it needs, or does not have the right java CLASSPATH set.
Can you try running the service under the exact same account that successfully runs via the command line?
    Cheers,
    Daniel

  • Consume local contracts with extended claissc scenario

    Hello,
We are implementing SRM 7 stack 10 with ECS. We are connected to one R3 4.7 backend.
Since local PO will be replicated to the backend, is that possible to consume local contracts with that scenario?
Could there be a problem with the GR if there is no contract in R3?
At the moment we can not manage to consume SRM contracts.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi ,
There can be various reasons why a local contract is not populated as a source of supply for requirements in extended classic. Ideally, local contract are always porposed as a source of supply unless
    1. company codes are not identical.
    2. Purchase organization of requirement does not match with any of the released authorized purchase organization.
    3. product ID or product category are identical.
    4. Delivery Plant mentioned in the requirement should not excluded in the contract  and so on.
Check all the points and see if the contract is eligible enough to get popped as a source of supply.
    Thanks and regards,
    Ranjan

  • Local Contract not created

    Dear all,
there is a strange behaviour in a SRM 5.0 System.
We implemented BADI Determine Logsys for creation of local contracts in R/3. The process works fine from the Bidding Engine, but the contract is not created via the contract transaction. Looking into the details the system does not give the contract the logical system where to post the contract.
Any infos on this issue in the group?
    Cheers,
    Claudia

    Hi Claudia,
it looks like SAP told you what the normal way is to create contracts in the backend directly: from sourcing or from bidding. take a look in the configuration guide for SRM 5, page 60: [click here (login to SAP)|https://websmp205.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700002897362004E/CG_Sourcing5.pdf]
    Configuration guide, page 61:
(III) When creating an operational contract or a global outline agreement from the
contract management application of SAP Enterprise Buyer the system does not use
BAdI B1. The implementation of the BAdIs B2/B3 is optional.
    B1 is the determine_logsys badi.

  • Contract Manager v 11 problems

Our company purchased Primavera Contract Manager 11.0 a few years ago and never really used it.
If possible I'm trying to get this running as a test server to make sure we can use it for our projects before upgrading to the current version.
I'm installing on Windows XP SP3 and I'm getting a lot of errors.
During installation I received this error.
    The populateGroups utility failed.
Rerun this utility after this setup is finished.
I can get to the local login web page but after entering the login info this comes up:
The application's digital signature has an error. Do you want to run the application?
    I hit OK.
The application requires and earlier version of Java. Do you want to continue?
    DetectPluginApplet
    I hit OK.
But it never logs in. It just stays on this login page.
When trying to use database wizard to update databases or creat new one I get the error:
Database Server Error: Named Pipes Provider: Could not oepn a connection to SQL Server [53].
So is there any hope of getting this running or do we have to spend $1K to be able to use this? The boss already spent $2500 so we would like to use
    Thank you for any advice.
    budgen

    Thank you very much.
First off the maintenance support was let go in 2008. We'll have to purchase all those years and 2011 which cost about $1K which we'll do. I just want to get logged into the Application and show the boss what's possible first. I hope v.13 isnt' this difficult but I know I'm learning.
Yes the populategroups utility now works without error.
That EXPADMIN takes me a step further but after trying that login the message below shows up on the login page.
"Cannot open database(s) EXPADMIN, CMDEMO, EXPADMIN, because it was created with a previous release. Please convert the database(s) to version 11.1 or contact your Contract Manager administrator."
I thought I did that already but apparantly not.
Updating the databases to 11.1 isn't very straight forward. Using the CA.exe is rather difficult. I get the error : "Database Server Error: Named Pipes PRovider: Could not open a connection to SQL server [53]."
    The CM service is stopped.
Where do I get the Instance Name of the EXPADMIN? It's not in the InstallParameters.log as the others are.
Here's the installParameters.log if that helps:
    Contract Manager Database Server:
Database Vendor          - Microsoft SQL Server
    Group database name     - cmdemo
    Computer Name          - BARRY
Port Number          - Will be obtained during the install
    Instance Name          - PRIMAVERA
    Username          - exp
    Password          - sql
    Primavera schedule database Server:
Database Vendor     - Microsoft SQL Server
    Computer Name     - Barry
    Database Name     - dps_db
    Username     - privuser
    Password     - privuser
    URL          - http://192.168.0.195/myprimavera/comp/ShowProject

  • Question on local contracts

    Hi friends
In order to create local contracts manually 1.def number range for local contracts 2.def transaction for local contracts PCTR 3.Assign PCTR to CT_PROC_TY. and what else is required
If we are creating local contracts with source of supply i.e bid invitation and sourcing what steps are required.
what i feel is 1.def number range for local contracts 2. def transaction type pctr. 3. Assign PCTR to what attribute and what other steps are required
    thanks alot
    regards

Yes, besides that you need to set up the ALE model view to replicate the data in case of GOA or if you want to create the contract in the backend. Refer the config guide of Strategic sourcing.

  • RDS 2012 R2 - How do I lockdown access to Local Computer Management and Windows Backup via Group Policy

    Greetings all,
I am needing assistance in how to lockdown access to Local Computer Management and Windows Backup via Group Policy for users that access RDS service. I have followed this awesome guide - h t t p://w w w.it.ltsoy.com/windows/lock-down-remote-desktop-services-server-2012/
      - but it is missing two important resources that I would like to lock down.Currently, I have successfully locked down Control Panel for users via Group Policy, but I cannot find any group policy or guide on how to restrict user access
to Computer Management (different to Server Manager). When using Win-X shortcut to open the 'Administrator's shortcuts' near the windows icon, I have locked down everything except Computer Management. Computer Management gives direct access to Disk Management,
Shares etc, which are locked down for users. But Windows Server Backup is still accessible. Can someone please guide me on how to restrict access to both Computer Management and Windows Server Backup.
    Thanks in advance.
    Terry.

Prevent running of Windows Server Backup
    Computer Configuration\Policies\Windows Settings\Security Settings\File System
Right click on File System - Add File - Drill down to \System32\wbadmin.msc
On the Database Security ACL that pops up - Remove Creator Owner, Remove Users and check Adminstrators have Full Access.
On the Object window - choose Propagate inheritable permissions to all... (Default)

  • Supplier collaboration with contract management

    Hi All,
is there any functionality available in SRM to allow collaboration with suppliers for the contract management functionality within SRM?
I thinking of any possible integration via SUS?
    Cheers
    Chris

    Hello Chris,
Use of cFolders can be one of the option, which version you are working on.
SRM supports integration with SAP Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) cFolders 2.0 or higher. Once SAP PLM cFolders has been installed, purchasers can create a folder there to store information and share it with potential suppliers.
