LocalStorage broken since update

Question

Hi,
I'm using localStorage to store answers inside an html widget. Everything was fine, but it stopped working since I upgraded my iPad (iOS 5.1 and iBooks app update).
Is anyone experiencing the same problems ?

The following snippet works for me, both with Dashcode and inside an HTML 5 widget in iBooks:
    var text = document.getElementById("text");
    if (typeof(Storage) !== "undefined")
        if (!localStorage.lastname)
            localStorage.lastname = "Smith";
            text.innerHTML = "Set name: " + localStorage.lastname;
        else
            text.innerHTML = "Get name: " + localStorage.lastname;
    else
        text.innerHTML="No local storage";
The values in local storage persist accross invocations of the widget, and they persist if you close a book and open another one, or shut down iBooks and restart it.
So, as far as I can tell, it's working, at least for me.
