Locked record to be killed automatically after x amount of time

I often face a problem that if any of the client is updating a record and before commit/rollback the pc gets restarted, the session of the user does not get killed and the record remains locked.
Is there any method that in the above mentioned senario, session can be killed automatically?

Justin, before following David's advice be sure to consider if you have any programs that connect to Oracle and set idle waiting for an external stimulus like a middleware receipt (mailbox , message queue etc…) receipt. You will need to set your idle time to take these programs into account, which could render the setting ineffective for your needs.
The alternative is to write a script that looks for connected but idle sessions and which then kills them through Oracle. Through logic you define the script has the ability to skip specified sessions or to apply different timeout standards as desired.

Safari quits automatically after certain amount of idle time.

I am having a problem with my Safari quiting after a certain amount of system idle time. It could be as little as 5 minutes. I honestly don't know as I really haven't tried to figure out the exact time. Though I've been away as little as 15 minutes to come back and find that Safari as quit.
I do close the last window of Safari, but I've been doing that for years. I've only noticed that it's quitting by the fact that the little "light" at the bottom of the icon is missing. And that it bounces 1 or 2 times when I click on it. As well as the fact that I am not getting notifications, like eBay.
I have to admit that I was playing around with an Apple Script to have it quit Safari automatically after some system idle time. However, I can no longer find that Apple Script or the app. Heck, I can't even remember the name. However, I couldn't get the script correct as it never worked. I was doing this because my mother would leave a lot of windows/tabs open on her Mac and would use 50% plus of the CPU at times, even at "idle". I was doing this in Mt Lion, but once Mavericks came out. Her CPU usage has dropped down to less than 5%
So my questions are... How can I find this Apple Script that I created nearly a year ago? Why all of sudden does it start to work, which is with in the last several days to a week? Could it be something else that's making it quit?
The only thing that was a "huge" change was the addition of Garmin Express app to update my mother's GPS. (Wish that I did it on her Mac) However, this was installed last night.
Oh, there was another thing. I've tried to use this Mac as a target boot disc to a pre-2008 MBP 17', non-unibody. And I also tried to use that same MBP as a target disc on this Mac. Used a firewire 800. This was done about a week ago.

More important information: This only happens under an account that has the Parental Controls enabled. The main Admin account does not have this problem of Safari quitting out.

Application keeps crashing after an amount of time

Hello,
Since an certain amount of time we get crashes with our application on some of our PC's. It's an touchscreen application and it's running on a builtin PC with an Intel G41 Express Chipset. The application only crashes if it runs fullscreen.
I've tried various things to get a solution but everytime the application keep's crashing. The things i've tried so far:
Reinstall a clean Windows 7 (x86), No chipset drivers (just the drivers Windows recognized) with Adobe AIR 3.6 and the application, after that i've tried Adobe AIR 3.4 and 3.5. Application keeps crashing on the Adobe AIR.dll that's in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe AIR\Versions\1.0\
Reinstall a clean Windows 7 (x86), the latest chipset drivers with Adobe AIR 3.6 and the application, after that i've tried Adobe AIR 3.4 and 3.5. No other software. Application keeps crashing.

I'm guessing the chipset is messing up Adobe AIR, because if we run it on another PC the application runs fine. Even if I run the application in Windows XP mode, the application runs fine. But I guess that's just because "Windows XP mode" simulates other hardware.

It seems the problem has been resolved yesterday. I waited to reply with the solution until we're done testing. Since testing is done, i'll tell you our solution. I think the problem was very computer specific, but since others can have this problem i'll tell how we fixed this.
We are using 32" touchscreen from ELO (http://www.elotouch.com/products/ids/3200L/default.asp) with an builtin PC with the following specs.
ECM1:
Intel Celeron Dual-Core
2.2GHz E1500
(512KB L2 cache/800MHz bus)
Appearantly we were using the drivers that are delivered with Windows 7 and we did 'downgrade' the drivers with the drivers that can be downloaded from the ELO website (http://www.elotouch.com/files/driver_packs/IDS_Computer_Module_Win7_Drivers_Package.zip). I guess the below drivers are the one that solved our problem.

* Version: 9.2.0.1021
* Target Products: Intel(R) 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family

Flash XML Slideshow - Load next image after set amount of time

Ok I've managed to get most of this working including the
alpha fade in. I haven't been able to get the images to fade out
(fadeImageOut function) so if someone can tell me what I'm doing
wrong. Also should I have some sort of preloader function for when
each image loads? and if so any pointers, then it should be done

Photoshop stops execution of scripts after certain amount of time

We developed some scripts for importing and exporting certain parts of psd-files. The scripts are working perfectly, when executed directly via Run/Script.
But after implementing them within an extension in Configurator we figured out a kind of timeout after approximately 5 Minutes runtime.
So every script installed within an extension and run via the according palette will freeze Photoshop after this time.
If you run the script separately everything works, also longer than 5 Minutes.
Is there any javascript function to change the "timeout" in Photoshop?
This problem occurs on Mac, PC, CS5.5 and CC, on different computers.

I was searching for where to find that code I see I could have maybe used the listener browsing to the script perhaps... but also I might have to try and combine a few things.     This link here talks about a global assetspath _Adobe.assetsPath   in the configurator 4 for invoking javascript... and http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1244470   And this link here http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1016919m is talking about a global varailbe assetsPath .   I have to figure out how to have the scripts called from wherever the assets path gets installed right?   Lots of the .jsx files will end up in a folder after the .zxp installs... but I'm using Configurator 3 to get around the 4 issues with CC... I can still export and have functional CS6 and CC extensions this way out of Configurator 3 --- just loading the .ZXPs in Extension Manager CC - they work in Photoshop CC just fine.    This avoids the problems with the signatures people are having.     This timeout solution solves another major issue.
Do I simply replace this "desc3241.putPath( idjsCt, new File( "/Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS5.1/Scripting/Sample Scripts/JavaScript/ActiveLayer.jsx" ) );"
with

I think my issue will be just trying to get the code going to the right folder and I might have to make two separate versions one for CS6 and one for CC -- because otherwise the code is the same in the script buttons... have to change all the buttons I wish there was a quick way to switch them to script instead of script file.   Just need them to run this code now, but make it go to either:
Adobe/CS6ServiceManager/Extensions/["MyExtensionName"]/content/["MyExtensionName".assets]/    -- in the case of a CS6 version,
And
Adobe/CEPServiceManager4/extensions/com.["MyExtensionCo.MyExtensionName"]/content/Configur ator-Panel.assets
From what I can see there must be a smart way to have it work, but maybe not universally for CS6 and CC extension... the way I am exporting my panel with the script-file buttons... it works when you install the same .zxp to extension manager cs6 or cc... but I'm sure with this time-out solution that might not work.   Still just using different code for two different saved versions in Configurator 3, I will export a CS6 .zxp and a CC one.     I'm still not ready to switch to using Configurator 4, I can't get my extensions to export where they install ok with the self-signed certificate, it never gets past the loading with Configurator 4 .zxp files it fails to authenticate or let the user bypass.

Ipod nano turns of after short amount of time

My Ipod nano 6th G turns off after about 30 seconds. I was wondering if anyone knew how to fix it.

Make sure the headphones are plugged ALL the way in, meaning the white part of the headphones is flush with the Nano. No silver from the headphone's plug should still be seen.

[solved] xterm closes automatically after 6s

I'm having a really weird problem: xterm closes automatically after 6s of execution time, no matter what I run inside or whether I do anything in it at all.
No error in the logs or in .xsession-errors, return value is zero. The window just closes and anything running inside is aborted:

I traced it down to a script that was supposed to kill a specific xterm instance and instead killed all. So all my fault, thanks for the answer ^^

Computer hibernates automatically after sleeping for X amount of time.

I recently bought a VPS and have been sleeping my old personal server when it's not in use. However, I find that after putting it to sleep, it'll actually go into hibernate after some amount of time. I would prefer this *not* to happen so that I could easily wake the machine with WOL. Was hoping someone could point me in the right direction as to what might be causing this.
I have the acpid and cpufreq daemons which might affect this. Both of these are setup with the default configurations. I have laptop mode installed but *not* in the daemons array/running.
In order to put the machine to sleep, I am simply using "pm-suspend". Does the default pm-suspend script cause the machine to hibernate after a specified time? Or, perhaps a script that comes with laptop-mode that is being run on suspend?
Appreciate the help in tracking this down!

You can do it with a time schedule in System Preferences > Energy Saver > Schedule.. button.

Is it possible to have the cellular data switch turn off after a period of time. I would like to minimize the data usage, but often forget to turn off the cellular switch once I have returned to wifi coverage.

My new iPhone 6+ seems to eat up data at a faster rate than my iPhone 4. I was advised that turning off cellular data when I am at home or work where I have wifi will keep my cellular data usage to a minimum. But I have found that I frequently forget to turn it off the cellular once I have finished a task where I needed it. Is there a way to have it turn itself off automatically after a period of time? No, you will have to manually do it.
Have you look into putting your phone in airplane mode and then connect to wifi.

Thunderbird stops being able to use a configured signing certificate after a period of time

OS: Windows 8.1 64-bit
Software: Thunderbird 31.4.0
Smart card software: ActivClient 6.2.0.196
PKI card: DoD CAC
My issue is that in Account Settings -> Security, I have my Government Signature Certificate set to sign e-mail. When I first start up Thunderbird and insert my CAC, I'm able to send signed e-mail without a problem. However, after some amount of time, I'll try to send an e-mail and get the following error:
"Sending of message failed.
You specified that this message should be digitally signed, but the application either failed to find the signing certificate specified in your Mail & Newsgroup Account Settings, or the certificate has expired."
My CAC is still inserted and usable in other programs in Windows. When I check the Security settings, the correct certificate is still selected for signing. Though if I try Select the signing certificate again, I get the error: "Certificate Manager can't locate a valid certificate that can be used to digitally sign your messages."
When I view Security Devices, the CAC reader is still listed.
The only thing that seems to get it to work again is some trial-and-error with reinserting the CAC, clearing the certificates, and hitting Log Out for the CAC reader. If all else fails, just restarting Thunderbird entirely will do it.

i'm currently working on a requirement to direct a user to the Interaction record creation view automatically after confirmation of an account and installed base. Consequently i have maintained following customizing setting within our account identification profile:
Account Navigation:
Object type = BT126_INR, UI Action = D
I have tested the following scenario's:
1. In case when i confirm an account AND installed then automatically the Interaction Record create view is being displayed --> OK.
2. In case when i confirm an account which is not linked to an Installedbase then nothing happens. --> NOT OK
3. In case when i confirm an installed base and the related account afterwards then nothing happens --> NOT OK
Can you explain why in situation 2 & 3 i'm not directed to the Interaction Record create view?

First of all identify which view and component you use while confirming partner (e.g. which view/component Confirm button belongs to).
In general it should be ICCMP_BP_DETAIL component and one of its views: BuPaDetail, BuPaDetailB2B or BuPaMixDetailB2B.
For instance, let's take a look into BuPaDetail (for other views procceed in the same way).
In its event handler EH_ONCONFIRM there is such code at the very end:

Standard troubleshooting steps are reset, restore, restore as new.
Since resetting isn't working, try backing up and restoring through iTunes.

I have a transaction type Z010 for interaction record that is copied from standart 0010 transaction type.
I define dependent transaction type SRVO that is service order as a follow up of Z010
My requirement is to open automatically open service order screen after confirming account
As agents must do everything vey quickly while they are on phone, it is needed urgently.
Now they have to open Z010 interction record screen, have to press follow up button, click to clipboard and then can open the scrren of service order.
How can we automatically open service order screen after confirming account??

Our interaction record is created automatically when follow up process-it is service order here- is created. First we confirm customer, then press to Interaction Record at the left hanside, then in this screen we press follow-up button, then click on Activity Clipboard, then service order screen is opened. I want to pass two steps, pressing Interaction Record and pressing follow up record, how can I do this??
Exactly I have to define process type Business Activity for interaction record, I can't give Service Order process type directly to interaction record. Service Order type must be dependent to business activity, is it true?? If there is a way to directly giving service order type as an interaction record type, and making interaction record creation automatically after confirming, my problem is solved as very well.
