Loggin in to remote website admin redirects to localhost on local server!!

This is definitely a new one for me. I have developed a Wordpress site locally then uploaded to the remote server. For some reason when I log in I am redirected to the localhost and the version installed locally in XAMPP. I have tried clearing the cache in Firefox but to no avail. When Apache and MySQL are turned off in the XAMPP panel, it still tries to redirect to the local server and I get the "Problem loading page" error.
Also, strangely, when I turn off XAMPP the CSS for the site on the REMOTE server doesn't display! Any ideas short of deleting and starting over? I can't even get into the admin of the site to change the password.

I made all the changes to the config.php file for the new database name, password and username and everything was running fine yesterday. I only noticed today that the CSS was broken when XAMPP was turned off. I may just reinstall the database, it will take less time than trying to figure it all out.

  • Server Admin unable to connect to local server

Hey all. I've been using SLS to serve a Promise RAID via NFS for a few weeks now, and it's been stable and smooth. I've had Server Admin open all that time so I could watch the network usage graph via ARD. Today, Server Admin can no longer connect to the local server. I've tried stopping and starting com.apple.servermgrd but it still cannot connect. Is my only option at this point a reboot?
Has anyone else experienced this on SLS? I've always had stability issues with Server Admin in the past, but I'd been told the issues had been addressed in SLS. Could someone verify this? Thanks

I should have been more clear. This is on an 8-core Intel XServe.
I was able to use Server Admin locally on the machine for weeks. Now I can't. Nothing has changed or been altered on the machine during that period.
I can not connect to the server via Server Admin remotely or locally. I can connect via SSH, ARD, etc. and the system is still serving NFS just fine, so it's just the process that handles communication with Server Admin that is non responsive.
    Something interesting from the syslog:
    qt1 servermgrd[44258]: servermgr_accounts: noteDirectorySearchPolicyChanged (reopening nodes)
    qt1 servermgrd[44258]: -[AccountsRequestHandler(AccountsOpenDirectoryHelpers) openLocalLDAPNodeIfNeeded]: dsLocalLDAP = (null) , error = Error Domain=com.apple.OpenDirectory Code=2000 UserInfo=0x1066a16c0 "Unable to open Directory node with name /LDAPv3/127.0.0.1."
qt1 DirectoryService[31]: DirectoryService has 42000 internal references open (due to clients), warning limit is 2000.
These lines repeated apprx. every 30 secs until I bounced the servermgrd. Now, I see that entry whenever I try to connect to the local server via Server Admin.
Now, this system is not a LDAP server, but I understand OSXS still uses LDAP for local directory info... I've tried restarting the related directory services as well, but still no joy.
It looks like my only recourse is a reboot, which is really not a great option for a dedicated file server. Am I the only one who has ever encountered this issue of Server Admin eventually losing contact with a server?

  • Remote Desktop Printer Redirection Stops Working Randomly on Server 2008 R2

We have a MS Windows Server 2008 R2 that is used SOLELY as a Terminal Services remote desktop server onto our network. It is used for employees who are off site and need to use the networked company software. VPN works, but is extremely slow for this software.
Over the past week, the redirected printers function has repeatedly stopped on this server. The employees need this to print to their own local printers. It will eventually restart itself, but after several hours. To get it started faster, I have to restart
    the server.
I've done this maybe 6 time since last Monday. This has never been an issue before, and I cannot think of any change that may have occurred that could cause this.
    The Event Viewer says this:
The Remote Desktop license server cannot update the license attributes for user "DrewR" in the Active Directory Domain "XXXX.main". Ensure that the computer account for the license server is a member of Terminal Server License Servers group
    in Active Directory domain "XXXX.main".
If the license server is installed on a domain controller, the Network Service account also needs to be a member of the Terminal Server License Servers group.
If the license server is installed on a domain controller, after you have added the appropriate accounts to the Terminal Server License Servers group, you must restart the Remote Desktop Licensing service to track or report the usage of RDS Per User CALs.
    Win32 error code: 0x80070005
    (I inserted the Xs)
I've never looked at the Event Viewer on this server, but it is littered with messages such as this, and has been for months and months, so if this IS the issue, then it sure took its sweet time affecting anything.

  • Set up dynamic, remote website on local environment for development

I am not too experienced with dreamweaver (the extent of my knowledge is youtube tutorials and self taught).  I have inherited a website on a remote server that I need to do some major editing.  It is using MySQL, php, html, and css.  I have already downloaded the entire site for local development.  However, the php will not function without a server.  Would anyone kindly provide some resources on how to set up this site up with MAMP for local development (or any alternative ways to develop inherited websites like this)?  I know how to set up MAMP from scratch, but not with an already developed, remote website that needs to be edited/redeveloped.
It seems like if I redirect the server to a local one, it will mess up a lot of code when I attempt to upload it back to the remote server.  There has to be a more convenient/integrated way to do this than recoding the database access every time I switch from local to remote.....

You'll still need to pull everything onto the testing server, if it's going to be different from your remote server. Here's a good resource for using testing servers with DW...
Setting up a local testing server in Dreamweaver CS5 | Adobe Developer Connection
It might not match your exact version, but it should be followable for the most part.

  • Dreamweaver Help | Edit an existing remote website

This question was posted in response to the following article: http://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/using/edit-existing-remote-website.html

There is a program called Beyond Compare that will perform a comparison of local and remote folders via FTP, but it works on Windows only. I don't know if there's a similar program available for Mac OS X.
One way to find the number of items in the public_html folder on the remote server is to log into the site's control panel, and see if you can find the number of items listed there.
Alternatively, select Remote Server in the Dreamweaver Files panel, right-click the public_html folder, and select Synchronize from the context menu. In the dialog box that opens, select Entire [Site name] Site for Synchronize, and set Direction to "Get newer files from remote". Then click Preview.
Because you have such a large number of files, it will take Dreamweaver a long time to get all the information. In fact, you might find it just as quick to create a new site definition in a new folder, and attempt to download the site again.

  • Serious bug in Weblogic when connecting to a remote website through a local proxy server (proxyHost, proxyPort)

    Hi there,
It seems that there is a serious problem with any version of Weblogic when you
have to pass through a local proxy server to connect a remote website.
Whenever I am trying to run the jsp program below either with Weblogic 7.0 SP2
or even with Weblogic 8.1, I get the following exception :
An error occured: Tried all: '1' addresses, but could not connect over HTTP to
    server: 'www.sun.com', port: '80'
When I run the same program outside Weblogic, it works fine. Other people have
already reported the same problem either in this newsgroup or on Internet forums,
and up to now, the problem is not fixed yet.
In fact, Weblogic seems to block when it performs the connect() method to the
proxy, my jsp program hangs a few minutes before returning the error message shown
    above.
If anyboby can tells me how this problem can be solved (or maybe via a workaround)
do not hesitate to keep me informed, thanks in advance.

    Hello,
The way to set the HTTP connection using a proxy server changed (from

  • Is there a way to whitelist some websites that redirect me?

I understand that I can either allow or disallow all redirects. But I only want to allow some redirects.
I like the fact that Firefox stops a website from redirecting me. However, there are some websites that I want to redirect me. Clicking links in Gmail, for example. Or sometimes when you click a link to download a zip file.
I just want to enter a domain for select websites to allow only those to redirect me.
Is there a setting I've missed (doubtful) or is there an add-on that can do this? I've searched for add-ons, but none of them seem to have this funtion. So please don't link me to an add-on unless you actually know for certain if it does what I've suggested.

The setting in "Tools > Options > Advanced > General" is meant as an accessibility feature, as you can see by the label of that section, so that people with disabilities or people who use screen readers do not get confused and is not meant as a safety protection to stop redirecting.

  • Apple Remote Desktop Admin 3.7.2 Yosemite wake issue

Another serious problems is.... Apple Remote Desktop Admin 3.7.2 in Yosemite cannot wake up clients Mac remotely. Control has no problem after waking up.
On 10.9.x I can wake up remote Mac clients if sleeping. Now I have to do it on the other Mac running older OS version.

    I have a different issue.
Just updated s classroom full of computers and desktop client will no longer observe more than on computer at a time. I can no longer observe groups of computers. Any thoughts on this issue guys? Mac OSX Yosemite 10.10

  • Apple Remote Desktop admin update now won't open 3.5.1

So a few days ago I updated Apple Remote Desktop admin and now the program won't launch. It says that the admin version is not compatible with the client. I went to apple's software updater and it doesn't show that anything needs to be updated on the client side. Any suggestions?
    Running on:
    Mac Pro
    Snow Leopard 10.6.8

Okay thanks,  dragging the old app to the trash and logging into the app store did it.  What threw me a bit is that it was asking for my credit card info in order to process the download.  Evidently it only was doing this because it had an old card stored in the system.  I don't THINK it charged me to download again .

  • HT5422 Different versions of Remote Desktop Admin 3.6.1

How do Remote Desktop Admin 3.6.1 from 24 Sept with Download ID SL1595 and 14.73 MB in size and another from 3 Dec labelled DL1570 and 14.75 MB in size differ?  Perhaps this is a version labelling problem, the one from 3 Dec perhaps is actually 3.6.2?  There's two separate support pages for the separate downloads, the titles are a little different with some juxtapositioning, "Apple Remote Desktop 3.6.1 Admin" and "Apple Remote Desktop Admin 3.6.1", respectively. My existing copy of Admin 3.6.1 only offers to update clients to Client 3.6.1; I installed Client 3.6.2 manually on the clients via downloading from the download page for it. Gonna wait on the Admin to see if Apple fixes this soon.

There's nothing to fix here. The newer 3.6.1 Admin updater only includes the latest 3.6.2 client software. This updates someone's system properly when they're coming from and Admin version prior to 3.6.1. If you already had Admin version 3.6.1 installed then then you'll be offered the 3.6.2 update on Lion systems. The update is not necessary for 10.8 - 10.8.2 as the only bug fixed was with iChat on Lion. Of course you can manually install the 3.6.2 client update on your Mountain Lion systems if you'd like.

  • SBS 2011 Remote Website Not Available in IE

I can't get to my /remote website from outside my LAN using IE. I can get to it from firefox and am able to log in with no problems but am not able to RDP into any resources on my domain.
I am able to log into /RDWeb and /OWA using IE from outside our network...
I thought the issue might have been security settings in IE so I've pointed my IE to another client's SBS 2011 Server and am able to open the site. Does anyone now what I can do to troubleshoot this issue?
    Thanks,
    Dave

Hello Larry, I never fail to post in the wrong thread... Thanks for your reply.
I did not add a DNS entry for remote.mydomain.com on our internet DNS. I am accessing the site the same way I get to our /owa site. https://mail.mydomain.com/remote
When browsing to the URL in IE nothing comes up, it acts as if the site does not exist. The odd part was that I can use Firefox to browse to the site, log in, and view resources on our domain. RDP connections to any PC or Server in my domain always fails
    in Firefox though.
I've been trying to log in my site for days and got the same result every time using IE. I tried it one more time last night so I could report exactly what IE Showed but I was finally able to log in using IE...
Last night before IE connected to the /remote site I went into the session state of the /Remote site in IIS and changed it from In Process to Server State... I did this just to see if I could get IE to behave in a different manner than the blank page...
RWA threw errors when trying to log in from outside the network using IE, I changed it back to In Process and at that point IE allowed me to log in and I was able to use RDP to log into the SBS2011 Server.
I thought I could come back to it this morning and test more connections but now I can log into /Remote using IE but am not able to RDP into any resource in the domain...
I'm at a complete loss so any help you or anyone else could offer is greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Dave

  • Remote Desktop Admin 3.4

    Hello
When upgrading my admin computer, I'd to buy a license of compatible version of Remote Desktop Admin, I mean 3.4.
I connect wo problem, however my remote keyboard is seen as a Qwerty keyboard.
Although I found many threads  complaining with this, I haven't found any solution.

Please, tell me someone know how to fix this ?

Probably get a reasoned response posting to the ARD forum: http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=1007

  • Remote desktop admin 3.8

Is remote desktop admin for accessing my desktop from another device?

This update (1.1 and earlier currently) breaks screen sharing on OSX computers other than Yosemite.  There is a bug in the software update.
They should have only updated Yosemite computers and not those still running earlier OSX versions.
There is an explanation on how to downgrade to 3.7 in another thread by UM-LinuxGuru:
"UM-LinuxGuruMar 24, 2015 1:09 PM Re: mavericks messages not screen sharing
Re: mavericks messages not screen sharingin response to David Vrooman
I happened to stumble across this issue. I loaded a test machine with a Mavericks 10.9.0 installer, then selected upgrades to see what would break it. It is RDC Update 3.8.2 v1.1. After spending time with AppleCare, they told me I might see a fix in a week. Right. I need a fix right now.
So, I used my 15 years of Linux diagnostic skills, and came up with a quick fix, which I will test further. I downloaded Apple Remote Desktop 3.7 Client . If you try to install it now, it will say, "Can't, newer already installed." Fine. goto /Library/CoreServices/, archive RemoteManagement, then put RemoteManagement in the trash (as admin), and empty the trash. Now run the 3.7 installer. I now have screen sharing again, while I wait for Apple's fix.
I will test updates 3.7.1 and 3.7.2 if I can find them."
Robert had a correction to this instruction:
"One correction: the path to the Remote Management folder is: /System/Library/CoreServices/  (not /Library/CoreServices/)"
    Yosemite Messages Screen Sharing Broken?
The ARD client 3.7 solves screen sharing problems on non-Yosemite computers until they make the upgrade.

  • HT201068 I updated Remote Desktop Admin 3.8 and now my Time Capsule wireless connection is having.

I recently updated to Remote Desktop Admin 3.8 and since then, I have had issues with the wireless connection from my Time Capsule.
    1) I reset modem and had no change. 2) I then plugged the ethernet directly into my Mac and the connection was great so it's not the service or modem.
    3) I hard reset the TC and when it came back, the speed was good but went back down after a few minutes. 4) Plugged ethernet directly into Mac and again, the speed was great so it is definitely the TC.
Would love some help resolving this. Hoping I don't have to get a new wireless router. Maybe the TC is too old? I purchased it in 2009 or 2010/ Current version 7.6.4

I see that you are having some connection issues with your Time Capsule. Are these issues only present when using Remote Desktop Admin 3.8? If so, you may need to review the information in the following article and see if this sheds some light on the issue:
