Logging of the OWA kills portal session

Hi,
I have integrated OWA iViews into Portal.
The problem im facing is when im clicking the logoff button on the OWA
iViews, the Portal session is killed.
I confirmed this from the SAP Note 732911
Could you please provide me with any updated solution or work around.
whether the problem is rectified ??.
Regards,
Ricky

The Problem has no solution as of now. It is confirmed when i raised an OSS Note for the same.
According to the JSR page 63 line 25
For portlets within the same portlet application, a portlet container must ensure that every portlet request generated as result of a group of requests originated from the portal to complete a single client request receive or acquire the same session.
In addition, if within these portlet requests more than one portlet creates a session, the session object must be the same for all the portlets in the same portlet application.
Hope this will help others immediately...without spending a long time by searching and raising OSS notes.
Regards,
Ricky

  • Closing and Killing Portal Session Error

    Hi Experts,
I'm getting some problems with my killing sessions. We did some implements with Integrated Planning and repots are running in the portal. I have noticed a dramatic low performance in my portal and I realized that sessions are not closing in the portal. I've been trying log our from the portal session and the session still alive (I seem them in SM04 transaction). How Could it be possible if I'm logging out properly?..... Is there something I've been missing???? What else Could I do for fixing the problem???
Thanks for your help (Any help would be rewarded).
    David

    Hi,
As far as understand you are running reports from an ABAP backend system in the portal and the sessions in the ABAP backend system are not closed by the portal.
Which technology are the reports based on (BSP, transaction) ?
It seems to me the Distributed session management(DSM) in the portal is not working  and therefore not triggering the closing of the sessions in the backend when the user logs off or navigates to another page.
(it might also be that the BSP is defined as stateful )
See http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/ca/a9a7408f031414e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm for more info on DSM
    Cheers

  • Cannot log onto the Portal on any servers!

    Hi All
I have been attempting to set up a demo of our portal PRD environment which contains one central instance and two dialog instances. I installed the the Cental instance first and then the the dialog instances one at a time. All seemed ok all of the services are started (Green in SAPMMC), however I cannot log into the portal on ANY of the servers.
On both of the application servers I get the following message 'You have requested an application that is currently stopped' and on the central instance I get this message 'Application error occurs during processing the request.'

  • Unable to log into the portal-After Upgrade from NetWeaver 7.0 to 7.3EHP1

    Dear Experts,
We have poltal landscape(NW 7.0 Dualstack SPS27) with our customozed themes and par files(Company name, logos and colours)
Recently we upgraded the one of portal from NW 7.0 to NW 7.3EHP1 . Upgrade has been successfilly completed with small issue.
After upgrade all urls are working(/nwa, /sld) except /irj/portal.We know that NW 7.3 EHp1 accepts only ear file i.e we converted the our customized log on par file to ear file through par migration tool and the same was deployed successfully through NWDS 7.3 version. After deploying we are able to access the
/irj/portal url with our customized par(means ear file) without issues,
We are unable to log into the portal after giving the correct user id and password, getting the portal runtime error as foloows.

I have been trying to log onto the Wounded Warriors Program Portal.  I can Log in and then when I click on the rewards it tried to go to the page the just takes me back to the same page I was on.  This is very frustrating.  I am new to the Mac World so please bare with me.  Please tell me there is help somewhere for this issue.  It seems it is blocked or not letting me through.  Can anyone please help me out.  Thanks

Both Mail and Safari have Activity Options that open a  screen that shows you just how the site or mail is loading.
In Safari if you are having trouble with a site in activity you will see the count of items being downloaded - and if an error occurs it shows red.
On the top is the number of items it is loading or trying to load and the count should be increasing.   If the count stops, and you don't have errors it may be that too many people are going after the same site and your request just timed out. Have had the time out on a news site when trying to load a most popular article.

Try the analytics tables. Before you can use them, you need to setup the analytics server and configure it for your application:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/webcenter.1111/e12405/wcadm_analytics.htm#BEIDBHHG
This gives an overview for building reports: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/webcenter.1111/e10148/jpsdg_analytics.htm#BABFDGEG
    Login metrics: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/webcenter.1111/e10148/jpsdg_analytics.htm#BABFFHGD
You can use these queries to get the info you want.

Hi, I cant login to the facebook app on my iphone 5 ios 6.0.2.  I keep getting an error message saying 'There was an error logging in using single sign on' when im asked to log in again i get a 'session expired' message.  This only started happening yesterday. Anyone else having this problem? Thanks.

I am having the same problem and took the following steps to mitigate it to no avail.
    1. I deleted the Facebook app on the phone and turned off Facebook in the iPhone's system-wide settings.
    2. I re-enabled Facebook in the iPhone's system-wide settings and reinstalled the Facebook app and logged in again. It worked. For about an hour.
    3. I completely restored the phone to a previous backup (before the problems started) and reenabled Facebook .... reinstalled the app.... and now it works intermittenly. But it hasn't worked in about 12 hours now (just tried a few minutes ago).
    Please advise.

  • How to encrypt user credentials when he logs on the Enterprise Portal

    Hi all,
I want to use a cookie approach on SAP Enterprise Portal i.e. when the user first logs on, i would create a cookie and store the encrypted password in it so that next time he hits the portal, he is directly authenticated with the help of the cookie.
For this above functionality, i need to know how the encryption & decryption techniques can be achieved by using the SAP Encryption libraries.
Would be highly appreciative if i get some info on this.
    Thanx & regards,

You can use logon ticket for the implementation you want to do. For security issues you are talking about then you can use the SSL connection for the client who is accessing the SAP Enterprise portal. For SAP Logon Ticket see the login modules CreateTicketLoginModule and EvaluateTicketLoginModule
Initially set the ume.configuration.active = true
For the security related issues ypu can set the following properties in the login modules
    1) ume.logon.security.enforce_secure_cookie to TRUE.
Marks the SAP logon ticket as a secure cookie, to enforce that the client browser sends the cookie only when an SSL connection to the J2EE Engine or the reverse proxy is established.
    2) ume.logon.httponlycookie to TRUE
If true, the SAP logon ticket is set to HttpOnly. This prevents it from being read by malicious client-side script code such as JavaScript. The setting is only effective for clients that use Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 SP1 or higher.
I would suggest to use the 1st option as SAP also recommend the use of SSL connection for Logon Tickets.
I wish this could help you a bit.
    Thanks and with regards

  • Clear the entry for killed/sniped session in v$session

    Dear all,
In our production database(11.2.0.1.0) running on windows 2008 server many client session showing inactive from last 4-5 hour and I want to kill those session because all sessions are dedicated so for this I created a resource plan set its idle time after certain interval session status is showing killed but it is not removing entries from v$session but our client demand is it must be clear from v$session so for this i was using DOS command taskkill utility to kill particular os process so I want to know what is the smartest way to do this.

This is known behavior, not an issue.
In a dedicated server environment when the session is killed and the rollback completes the process goes away so a join between v$session and v$process will fail. The v$session entry also usually goes away rather quickly, though I have seen cases where the v$session entry hung around till the instance was bounced. But normally Oracle will overlay the v$session entry with a new session using the same sid but a different serial# within seconds on a busy system.
    Mark @ http://dbaspot.com/oracle-server/40419-killed-sessions.html
Metalink doc id 1023442.6 is also something confirming it.

So, what is best in this regard :
    ALTER SYSTEM DISCONNECT SESSION
The ALTER SYSTEM DISCONNECT SESSION syntax is an alternative method for killing Oracle sessions. Unlike the KILL SESSION command which asks the session to kill itself, the DISCONNECT SESSION command kills the dedicated server process (or virtual circuit when using Shared Sever), which is equivalent to killing the server process from the operating system. The basic syntax is similar to the KILL SESSION command with the addition of the POST_TRANSACTION clause. The SID and SERIAL# values of the relevant session can be substituted into one of the following statements.
    SQL> ALTER SYSTEM DISCONNECT SESSION 'sid,serial#' POST_TRANSACTION;
    SQL> ALTER SYSTEM DISCONNECT SESSION 'sid,serial#' IMMEDIATE;

    Hi Ika,
This seems to be a permission issue.
Go to the pcd and give read access to portal_content/com.sap.ip.collaboration/Rooms .
    That should solve the problem.
Points are welcome if this helps
