Logon account fails to open operationsmanagerDW database

Hya,
We have mainly 2 servers an RMS server and a RMSSQL database  server.
Both servers are reporting the following error:Cannot open database "OperationsManagerDW" requested by the login. The login failed.Login
failed for user '<domain>\scomsql_svc'.
as you can see we are using windows authentication. I can login to the DB server using these credentials and expand the operationmanagerDW DB  so that side ok.
in the scom console on the RMSSQL server the scomsql_svc account has been set as the service account for the DB but this hasnt changed since 2010 and should still work
The above error is caused by the Health services. How do i find out which server is trying to access the DB or weather both servers are having same issue.
I see that when you set up the RUNas account and profile you can set the scope of which servers the credentials will be pushed to(health services)-->Distribution
Security page, select the Less
secure or More
secure--does this have to be set at the moment more secure is selected with no servers listed. will this be by design or is it missing ie is there another way?

Can someone please help me here. on further expection these errors are coming from multiple servers: The account hasn't changed in AD and we can still login SQL management studio using this account?

  • "Truncation context failed to open for database" when executing Add-MailboxDatabaseCopy

On a new two-member DAG, I'm unable to successfully create mailbox database copies.  When I issue the command:
    Add-MailboxDatabaseCopy -Identity TFDAG1_DB1 -MailboxServer TFEX10MB2 -ActivationPreference 2
I get the following error in Powershell:
A server-side seed operation has failed. Error: An error occurred while performing the seed operation, which may indicate a problem with the source disk. Error: Failed to open a log truncation context to source TFEX10MB1. Hresult: 0xc7ff1004. Error: Error

I do see event ID 222 from TruncationSource in the Microsoft\Exchange\HighAvailability\Operational log: "Truncation context failed to open for database 'eca57218-492d-49fc-a73d-88d919284477' from server 'TFEX10MB2' with reason: 'Database

The database copy is actually created, but it is initially in a suspended state, and won't become health until I either "Resume Database Copy" or "Update Database Copy".
Am I doing something wrong here?  The documentation seems to inidcate that the Add-MailboxDatabaseCopy ought to be able to hanlde that step on it's own.
    Thanks again!
    - Jason

These are brand new MB servers in a test environment.  We haven't gotten to the point where we are testing backup functionality, so there is no database backup activity going on.  And, yes - circular logging is disabled.
I just removed one of the copies, and created another using the -SeedingPostponed option.  This created a copy that immediately appeared as "Healthy" within the EMC.  I tried Update-MailboxDatabaseCopy immediately after, but then got an error that
"Replication for database is not suspended", at which point the database copy showed in the EMC with a status of "Disconnected and Healthy".
So I removed that copy and went back to creating a new copy without the -SeedingPostponed option...  At this point the database copy was created and immediately shows "Healthy" within the EMC.  This is what I would have expected initially, so I'm
wondering if perhaps the Mailbox server was just too new when I was initially creating my first database copies (as in Exchange was installed and I then immediately created a DAG and backup copies less than 5 minutes after installation was complete).
Since it seems like it's working now, I may be out of the water?  Will test some more tomorrow.
Thanks for the feedback and anything further you can provide.

  • Failed to open the connection - database vendor code 17

I'm upgrading a VB.net Windows Forms application from 1.1 to 4.0.  In the reporting form, the list of reports you can choose are pulled from a folder where the .rpt files reside.  Once the user chooses a report and executes it, vb code populates the current database connection information and displays the report in the report viewer control.
    The following things are true:
    - Version 1.1 works on my systems and my customers systems
    - The code has not been changed, except that it now targets .Net 4.0 instead of 1.1
    - The exact same .rpt files are being used
    - Version 4.0 connects to the same database my customer is using, and I can run the reports just fine from here.
    - Version 4.0 is able to connect to the database just fine from my customers systems (using the same connection information provided to the report)
    - My customer installed this:  http://downloads.businessobjects.com/akdlm/cr4vs2010/CRforVS_redist_install_32bit_13_0_2.zip
The only problem is that my customer encounters this error when trying to run any report from his systems:
    Failed to open the connection.
    Details:  Database Vendor Code: 17
    Failed to open the connection.
    Orders.BOL.TaskDetail {393C9017-0ED1-4E1E-8824-E222F4B9D14C}.rpt
    Details:  Database Vendor Code: 17
I read all of the articles I could find, and they either don't describe this exact situation, or there is insufficient information for troubleshooting this issue.  Are there steps that I've missed to make Crystal Reports for VS2010 work on my customer's systems?
    Your help is appreciated,
    Mark

    Hi Mark,
    More information required -
    - Does this happen with all reports or few?
    - What is the connection type used for the report to connect to the database (OLEDB,ODBC etc)
    - Are you changing the database at runtime?
    few things you could check
    - Check if the database is accaessible from the client machine with proper permissions / rights.
    - If its an ODBC connection check if the DSN with same name is created on the client machine.
    - Check the driver / provided used by the report to connect to the DB, verify that the same is installed on the client machine. (SQL NAtive client, SQL Server etc)
Also take a look at below articles discussing the simillar issue.

  • Failed to open the connection. Details: [Database Vendor Code: 53 ]

I'm upgrading one of our applications from Visual Studio 2005 to 2010. In the process I'm also switching our reports to run using Stored Procedures instead of Tables/Views.  Everything runs fine on development machines after all the migration work.  On the server however, it does not work. And I am getting the error message ""
Server is Windows 2003 Server 32 bit.  And yes, I have installed the latest runtimes version 13.0.2000.0 on the server.  There have been no other changes on the server other than to switch the target framework on the website in question from .net 2 to .net 4, and then to modify the web.config file to remove references to the older Crystal Reports and replace with references to the newer version.
I've seen many other threads on this "failed to open the connection" errors but none of them are my problem except there is one post that remains unanswered where someone had the same Database Vendor Code 53.  I don't know what that error means, spent a considerable amount of time researching that before asking this question.
Lastly, it appears that this error only happens when the report is pulling data from a Stored Procedure rather than Tables/Views.  If I re-copy the previous reports, they still work.
The ODBC drivers haven't changed, nor should they. They are fully up to date on that server machine.
I can't think of anything else that would be indicative of anything other than this is a bug.  Here is the error text as it shows up in the event log:

Lots of great info here, except for the database; MS SQL? Oracle? Etc?
Database Vendor Code 53 is an error code that the CR engine simply passes straight from the database it's self. E.g.; look at your database error code and you should be able to find a verbose description of the error.
As a test, what happens if you add the report to your project and run it in the CR design part of the .NET IDE?
    - A quick google search of Error 53 (for MS SQL - an assumption) comes up with a number of good hits. E.g.;

  • SP2010 Application Pool Service Account fails to login to master database on a SQL Server mirror

This is a weird problem that just started showing up, cause unknown. Could go in this forum or in SQL 2008...I put it here because for me the context is SP2010.
We have 2 SQL servers (2008 R2 with SP1). Each server has 2 named instances, the second being a mirror for the other server's main instance. In other words, the named instance /SQL has a /SQLMirror on the other server and vice versa.
The error is: Login failed for user 'domain\sharepointapppoolaccount'. Reason: Failed to open the explicitly specified database.
As best I can tell, the specified database is "master" on the mirror instance. I am unaware of any reason for the app pool account to be connecting to the master on the mirror (the master database itself is NOT mirrored). There is nothing
in the user mapping that would suggest any reason to try connecting. And there are no equivalent errors in the main instance (SQL).
SP2010 Event ID 18456 - Why would a service account try to connect to the master database?

    Hi,
When the principal server(SQL) disconnects clients from the principal database, then the mirror server(SQL) will take charge of clients’ requests.
So the error is regarding to the mirror server may be due to that the mirror server is taking charge of the clients’ request instead of the principal server when the principal is becomes unavailable.
I recommend to grant sysadmin permissions to the service account in SQL(mirror server) to see if the issue still occurs.
    Best regards.
    Thanks

  • Cannot access to any site with ssl connection and fail to open safari and keychain, unless restart computer and login in with Guest account.

when Update to 10.7.2 ,I cannot access to any site with ssl connection and fail to open safari and keychain, unless restart computer and login in with Guest account.
    OS:10.7.2
    Macbook Pro 2010-mid 13inch

I also have the same problem, however if I use Firefox or Opera sites with ssl connection work fine. Still, I can't use Google Chrome (ssl), Safari (ssl), the Mac app store (generally), or the iTunes store (generally). Both the iTunes store, Safari and the app store won't respond, and Chrome displays this error: (net::ERR_TIMED_OUT). The problem persists regardless of what network I'm using. Also, when trying to access the keychain or iCloud, the process will not start (will hang). I didn't have these problems at all before updating to 10.7.2.
Sometimes rebooting helps, and sometimes not. If the problem disappears by rebooting, then it only lasts a few minutes before it reappears. It is very frustrating, especially since there doesn't seem to be any obvious or consistent way of which to fix it.
    I'm also using a Macbook Pro 13-inch mid 2010.

  • Failed to open the connection. Details: [Database Vendor Code: 12154].

I have installed Crystal reports server 2008 VI on a Windows 2008 64bit OS. I have added SQL server and Oracle reports through CMC. I then installed Oracle 10g client 32bit on the server and created and tested the required DSNs using ODBC 32bit. All the testings are successfull.
Now when I try to run my Oracle report through CMC it prompts for the parameters and when I enter them and click ok, gives me the following error:
Failed to open the connection. Details: [Database Vendor Code: 12154].
I have the same exact setup on a different server which has a 32 bit windows 2008 server OS and could run the same reports through CMC.
Is there away to fix this in the 64 bit OS?
I did a yahoo search and someone had a similar problem with Crystal RAS and Oracle.
And there is mentions that this is an issue with 32 bit ODBC drivers on 64bit wondows OS.The parentheses in the default file location, C:\Program Files (x86), causes problems with the ODBC driver and the workarouns in re-installing Crystal RAS on a different folder.
    Full description is at (http://www.tririga.info/)
Is this the case with Crystal report server 2008 VI? I already got users using the InfoView to run SQL reports and doing this will have to put the application offline atlease for a say.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Vasana,
Resolution: Failed to Open the Connection.
    First:
If the Crystal Report is using 32-bit version of Microsoft ODBC then the Window 2008 server must also have 32-bit version of Microsoft ODBC. The 32- bit version of Odbcad32.exe is located in the %systemdrive%\Windows\SysWoW64 folder.
On the Windows 2008 server, execute Odbcad32.exe by clicking start and run and entering the following: C:\Window\SysWow64\ODBC32.exe.
    Then:
The Windows 2008 server ODBC Data Source Administrator must have the same System Data Source Server and Database Names that is used to run the Crystal Report.
e.g. Crystal Report points to server ABC and database EFG (ABC_efg); then the ODBC connections on the Windows 2008 Server must also point to the same server ABC and database EFG (abc_efg) listed.

    resolved by me itself.
    Do the following steps:
    1. Open the report in the CR XI designer.
    2. Select Database -> Set Datasource Location.
    3. Set Datasource Location window will appear and in the replace with section connect to the database and replace these tables with the tables in the current datasource by clicking the update button.
    4. After updating close the Set Datasource Location window.
    5. Go to 'Database menu' and Click 'Verify Database' and click on u2019OKu2019.
    6. Preview the report and the save the report.

  • JMS JDBC store failed to open after switched to a different database machine

    Hi Michelle,
I suspect a permission problem where the new tables are created
using the JDBC driver's default schema, but the prefix
specifies another schema "qa". So the tables are getting
              created, but aren't found.
              Work-around one:
manually extract, edit, and run the ddl that creates
the tables to specify the schema. Prepend
              "qa.JMS_SERVER_" to all table names
(This is fairly simple to do.)
              http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs61/jms/appb.html#999286
              Work-around two:
Don't include "qa." in the prefix.
(i'm not sure if this will work)
              Work-around three:
Change the username of the JDBC pool to "qa".
(i'm not sure if this will work)
              Work-around four:
Change the schema for the tables that were created
under the JDBC driver's default schema to "qa".
(I'm not sure how this is done, or even
if it is possible. Database specific.)

  • Palm Desktop software - Fails to open with msg "Error: Failed to open Address Book database"

In July 2009 I dropped my trusty Visor on a tile floor and it stopped working.  So, in the meantime I have been using only the Palm Desktop software.
Just yesterday, when I attempted to launch the Palm Desktop software, it failed with the message “Error: Failed to open Address Book database”.  I think this error was caused by a very ungraceful shut-down of my Win XP system yesterday.
I really do need to use the Palm Desktop software for my address list, calendar, and memo.  The problem is that the error with the Address Book database seems to be preventing the Palm Desktop software from initializing.
I am using Palm Desktop 4.0.1 on Windows XP SP3.  I do NOT  have an export file of the Palm address book or other databases.  However, I do have five levels of backup history on my external Maxgor backup drive.
Specifically, on my current c drive I have files in the directory:
    C:\Program Files\Handspring\WR\address
address.bak                  5/16/2009   (from last sync before I broke Visor)
                address.dat                   5/24/2011
                Personal.ABA                11/6/2008
                Unfiled.ABA                   3/28/2008
On my most recent backup of my system, there are the following files:
address.bak                 5/16/2009   (from last sync before I broke Visor)
                            address.dat                  5/12/2011
                            Personal.ABA              11/6/2008
                            Unfiled.ABA                  3/28/2008
I have not listed the four older backup versions.
I haven’t tried any corrective measures yet (I don’t want to make matters worse) and am hoping that someone can guide me along the right path.
Is it possible for me to just rename the “current” address.dat file to something like address.SAV and then copy the Address.dat file file with date of 5/12/2011 into the current directory.  Will the software then just use the older version of the data, or must I do something else.
I am grateful for any assistance.  Thank you very much.

Thanks for the speedy response.  However, I read the article for which you provided the link, and I hve also read many other articles that I found via search, but I don't think these will help me.  All of these articles seem to assume that (1) you have a handheld to which you can sync and thereby rebuild the database on the PC, or (2) you have a backup that you created via the Palm Desktop export function.  Unfortunately, I have neither and so I don't think any of these solutions will work for me.
I did read with great interest an article that stated that recent versions of Palm Desktop have a built-in function that will repair a corrupted Datebook database.  Will this also fix a corrupted Address Book database which is my problem?
So, I downloaded and attempted to install the latest version of Palm Desktop.  I was careful to read the instructions that stated NOT to uninstall my current version of Palm Desktop, but to just install the latest version on top of my current Palm Desktop.  However, when I attempted to do the installation, the installer software said it could not install on top of my current software and that I should first uninstall my current software.
    I have some questions now:
    (1) If I uninstall my current version of Palm Desktop, will this destroy my Address Book, Datebook, and Memo databases ( I don't care about the ToDo database)?  If so, what can I do to preserve those databases?
    (2) Is there really a function built in the recent versions of Palm Desktop that will fix a corrupted database?  Is this an "automatic" function that will detect and fix a broken database or is this something I will have to invoke?
    Thanks for your help.

  • Palm Desktop software - Fails to open with msg "Error: Failed to open To Do List database"

In July 2009 I dropped my trusty Visor on a tile floor and it stopped working.  So, in the meantime I have been using only the Palm Desktop software.
Just a couple days ago, when I attempted to launch the Palm Desktop software, it failed with the message “Error: Failed to open To Do List database”.  I think this error may have been caused by a very ungraceful shut-down of my Win XP system the day before.
I really don’t care about the To Do List data since I really don’t use it --- in fact, I haven’t used it in many months.  However, I really do need to use the Palm Desktop software for my contacts, calendar, and memo.  The problem is that the error with the To Do List database seems to be preventing the Palm Desktop software from initializing.
Just guessing, I saved the todo.dat and todo.bak files by renaming them, and then renamed the todo.bak file to todo.dat.  Then I attempted to launch the Palm Desktop application, but it failed with the same error “Error: Failed to open To Do List database”.
I also tried renaming all of the todo files so that none had a name of todo.dat or todo.bak.  The result is that the Palm Desktop software still will not start up.
I think I am using Palm Desktop 4.0.1, at least that is what the help text file seems to tell me.
I am grateful for any assistance.  Thank you.

Your on the correct path by saving the data by renaming the files. But to resolve this error we need to remove the data all together. Since you no longer need this data if you just delete it then it should not matter. If Palm Desktop is giving this error but will not open I doubt that the data can be recovered in any event.

    Hi,
We are using Crystal Reports to pull information from DB2. I received the following error during a DRP (disaster recovery planning) exercise. I am trying to determine what caused the error.

    Hello,
And if you look up that error code for DB2 what does it indicate? CR is simply passing the message from the DB2 client to a message box. It's the Client that is not configured and causing the error to log on.
    Thank you

When you are performing this task , is the ASM diskgroup "DATADG" mounted or existed.. try to figure out that first whether the diskgroup is mounted/existed or not .. And also when incomplete recovery is performed oracle creates the online redolog files when you start the db with resetlogs..

Hi, and welcome to the Palm Community Forums.
This question comes up relatively frequently (using the Search function brings up many, many hits, such as this one which has a link to the Palm Knowledgebase article which should resolve the problem).  It is typically the result of a damaged or corrupted record.
Good luck, let us know if it helps.
