Long User Syncronization when editing users in PS 2010

Question

Hi
When editing users / resources in manage users, we experience long syncs in the queue. This is Project Server 2010. By long I mean about 20 minutes per user. On another non related environment on a test domain, its barely noticeable going through the queue
(5 seconds maybe)
The system is specced well, and performs well otherwise?
Any help greatly received.

Hi Buzz,
You can follow the below steps to set the properties for the Content Database hosting the Project Sites to improve the performance during Sync:
1. Go to the Database in SQL Management studio, right click on the database and click on Properties.
2. In the Pop up, go to Options Set Auto Create Statistics and Auto Update Statistics to True.
You can also follow the below the DB maintenance queries which will improve the performance Project Server:
Update Statistics: Updates query optimization statistics on a table or indexed view. By default, the query optimizer already updates statistics as necessary to improve the query plan; in some cases you can improve query performance by using UPDATE STATISTICS
or the stored procedure
sp_updatestats to update statistics more frequently than the default updates (References:
