Hello,
I am greatly interesting in Java and look for active blog on Java technologies. I found 1000 of blogs posted in this forum but many are very specific or not active anymore. Could you please advise me good java blog with regular posting and interesting articles on different part of Java?

To write JNI code for integrating of an activeX is not a simple task. You will face with a number of problems related to COM:
- when and where to call CoInitialize and CoUninitialize,
- how to clean up COM references on Java Application exit,
- when to do Thread Marshal and when it is not needed for COM interfaces;
- how to Marshal and Unmarshal COM parameters in Java methods calls to COM Interface methods, etc.
The best decision is to use some Java-COM Bridge.
My company has developed tools like
- Java-COM Bridge
- Object-Oriented JNI SDKs for C++ and .NET (v1.1,v.2.0) languages (do not mix with JNI wrapper generators). These are an object-oriented maps of the regular JNI SDK,
- Add-Ins for MS Visual Studio v.6.0 and v.7.1 that generate Java wrappers in C++, C#, J#, MCpp, VB for Object-Oriented JNI SDK.
So we know problems you have.

Where can i find More info on Java web Service in BPEL? Is there any link or documentation for this? I looked at the tutorial and the only info available is:

Sure,
one way would be to upload the files to XE using the WebDav feature of the XML DB. You find more information here: http://daust.blogspot.com/2006/03/where-are-images-of-application.html
Another option would be to configure a standalone Apache as a proxy server to XE. This way you can configure the Apache any way you like.

i have run jprofiler on my application and so that this method takes 4% of the overall CPU time (!) .
is there any other , faster way to do this encoding ?

May i get some idea about report generation api available. some report generation tools that can be downloadble. can you please suggest how to use scheduling the printers or report generation by scheduling.

I'm not intending any insult by being dismissive, but it just doesn't make sense to ask that question here. If you have questions about your academic curriculum, the place to resolve those questions are with your institution.
Does anyone have idea or can give me content?If you're just hunting for ideas, do a little research to find a topic interesting to you and pertinent to your course. That's your responsibility as a student.
That said, what I think would be a decent enough question for the forum would be, "I've done some looking into X as it relates to the Java platform, and I've come to the conclusion that Y. What issues, concerns, or feedback do you see regarding my conclusion?" And then people can answer and discuss as they choose.

Studio Monitors - what to look for...

I'm going to say this right now - I'm NOT asking "hey, whats the best studio monitors I can get for x dollars." That's not what I'm interested in.
What I AM interested in is what TO look for, and what NOT to look for in buying a new set of stereo monitors.
I've decided I'd like to upgrade my studio monitors. I'm mixing on a pair of Event TR8 XL monitors - they're great, but i know there's better out there. I spent about $600 on the pair.
At this point, my limited knowledge of monitors only allow me to assume that more expensive means better, but I don't understand WHY, or what to look for. So, my question is this. What is more money buying me? Are there brands that are more or less reputable than others?
I'm really looking for general, or specific, advice on shopping for new monitors. Help me make an educated decision, there are too **** many monitors out there to choose from.
For what it's worth, I'd like to keep it under 1k. I'm interested in active near-fields, good for mixing, with decent clarity and few gimiks. Granted, nothing beats getting into a GC and listening to a few (which I intend to do in the next day or two), but I need a little more to go on when I take a look at these in person and listen to some of my mixes on them.

To add to the previous poster, I have a pair of old NS10's and I use them because I'm used to how they sound and how their sound translates to several other of my references, i.e. my SET/Bottlehead listening system, my car CD player, my table radio. One reason a studio owner would buy say Genelecs or Mackie HR 824's is because they have become somewhat of a standard and like the NS10's of 15 years ago, people know what they're getting once you're used the way mixes translate from them to other systems. That being said, get the Mackies, or Dynaudio BM5A's. Both those seem to be widely accepted and studio proven. That's a good place to start.
