Loss of Photoshop 7.0.exe

Photoshop 7.0.exe has inexplicably disappeared from my PC - all other Photoshop files are present, as are complete ImageReady and Illustrator but actual Photoshop 7.0 gone?
Could this happen during an auto update?

Going back in time, I had Ps 7, which was updated to 7.0.1 (IIRC), but everytime that I launched (used later CS versions more often, but kept Ps 7.0.1 for a reason), it did download and install several files. Those went by too quickly for me to detect exactly what they were, but there were many little updates. Never had any issue with Ps.EXE going away though. I did not notice such behavior with any later version.
I agree R_Kelly, in that some other program, maybe a Registry cleaner (?) might be behind the issue. I recall one, highly recommended "cleaning" program, that had a hate-on for many things Adobe. I used it once, and then quickly deleted it. Fortunately, I had a System Restore, and with a Repair Install, fixed the evil that the program wrought upon my computer.
Good luck, and hope that the Repair Install, or Reinstall fixes things for you.

  • If I have an old copy of Photoshop 7 in .exe form for Windows, how do I get it on my mac?

If I have an old copy of Photoshop 7 in .exe form for Windows, is there any way of getting hold of a .dmg copy that I can install on my Mac?

    Gener7,
Thanks for that clarification. Being a PC-only guy, I could not recall when the break came for the Mac CPU's, and OS's.
As the first released version of Ps was ported only for the Mac (was that release 1.0, or 1.0.1?), and then not released for the PC, until version 2.5, I knew a little bit of the history, but you just filled in a big blank for me. That's the sort of stuff that I missed, back when the Ps Forum was split by platform - I never read the Mac side.
    Appreciated,

  • Photoshop Elements 10.exe

I just installed PSE10 and wwhen I tried to update it the updater told me to close Photoshop Elements 10.exe.  I have not the slightest idea what they are asking (or telling) me to do.  How can a program as robust as PSE10 have such a lousy install/update step?

Are you using a 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows?
You should have a separate folder titled Elements 10 Organizer which you can launch Elements from.

  • "Photoshop Elements10.0.exe - Bad Image" Error message

My  Photoshop Elements 10 will no longer start.
I have been running Windows on my PC since initial installation and have not changed my set-up in any way, but now receive a "Photoshop Elements10.0.exe - Bad Image" Error message when trying to start my program. The error further reads c:Program Files 9x86)\Adobe\Elements 10 Organizer\amtlib.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error etc. I have deactivated, removed and then reinstalled Photoshop Elements using my original discs and serial number, but continue to get the same message.
    Any suggestions?

    Hello,
Try doing a clean uninstall of the BlackBerry Desktop Software. Then reinstall it in an admin account on the PC. http://bit.ly/aMZYJL

  • CS3 how to single part instlled? please install photoshop using setup.exe.

I have question, I used "Create Suite 3 Web Plem Version."
is possible not suites setup ? only part(s) setup supported?
    \Adobe CS3\payloads\AdobePhotoshop10en_US
I want to only installed Photoshop first, used dobule-click  " AdobePhotoshop10en_US.msi", but said: please install photoshop using setup.exe.
    how to single part instlled?
use CS3 license key ? or 30days mode?
    please

There is nothing called part installer using Suite installer. However, you can only Photosohp or any other application using Suite installer. Just launch setup.exe and in the Options screen, select custom install and then uncheck all other apps than Photoshop. Continue installation which should install only Photoshop.

  • Photoshop CS4 Setup.exe gets Setup Error on Windows 8.1

First: I've paid for Photoshop and upgrades for many years. However, when time came to upgrade from CS4 to CS6 last year, Adobe had shut that avenue off, and didn't want my money.
I now have a new computer, and need to re-install Photoshop CS4. I followed the CS4 download instructions in this forum (because Adobe has also removed those instructions -- even though they sold the CS4 upgrade as a download!)
When I run the Setup.exe file, three things happen right away:
    1) It says "Checking System Profile"
    2) It says "Setup Error -- Setup hs encountered an error and cannot continue. Contact Adobe Customer Support for assistance."
    3) It pops up a dialog and asks for a serial number.
This happens even when I Run As Administrator.
Trying to contact Adobe Customer Support just re-directs me to these forums.
    Help!

The problem is not with activation, because the Setup Error happens before I enter any serial number.
I am downloading from Adobe, using the download suggestions found in another thread.
I have the discs for CS2, but not CS4, as CS4 was bought as a downloadable upgrade.
It turns out that, if I ignore the setup error and dismiss that dialog, and enter my serial number (and that of the previous version, because it's an upgrade,) it goes ahead and installs, so the "error must quit" is apparently not quite accurate.

  • How do I install Photoshop from the .exe files I got from Adobe?

I downloaded Photoshop CS2 from Adobe's site.  That download gave me 5 .exe files, including CreativeSuiteCS2Disc1.exe, CreativeSuiteCS2Disc2.exe, and CreativeSuiteCS2Disc3.exe.
When I clicked on CreativeSuiteCS2Disc1.exe, files were extracted and installation began.  I put in my serial number and other information, and things seemed to be going fine.  Then a window popped up with the message "Please insert Disk 2."  Well, I don't have a Disk 2.
My download included a file "CS2_install_Win.pdf."  In those instructions, it says "the InstallShield wizard may return an error, "Please insert disk [ number ]." If this error occurs, click OK in the dialog box and then double-click the disk image to which the installer refers to manually extract the disk and complete the installation."  So, I clicked on CreativeSuiteCS2Disc2.exe, which overwrote the extracted files from CreativeSuiteCS2Disc1.exe.  But the box saying "Please insert Disk 2" didn't go away. No matter how many times I clicked "OK" it just stayed there.
Still, CreativeSuiteCS2Disc2.exe ran, and when it was done I got a message that installation was complete.  But, when I tried to run CS2, I got an error that my serial number and organization were invalid or not installed properly.  I know they were installed because I put them in when I ran CreativeSuiteCS2Disc2.exe
So, given that following the pdf instructions that came from the download don't seem to work, can anyone out there offer me better instructions on how to do this installation?  I was thinking of extracting each .exe file to a CD, then just inserting those CDs one at a time.  Will that work?

Missing personalization infopoints to permissions/ user privileges issues which are to be expected with such old versions on contemporary operating systems. Run as admin, turn off security stuff, try compatibility modes. Actualyl burning the discs will of course work, but you might look into simply mounting folders/ disc images as virtual drives e.g. using Daemon Tools Lite or your disc burning software's own disc mounter.

  • Photoshop 7 setup.exe won't start

    Hello everyone !
Thank you for reading my question and taking some time to help me. Much appreciated
I have some troubles with my photoshop 7. When I click on the exec setup file, it starts and then stops. Nothing happens, no window, no error message, just the exec doesn't launch.
The setup exe seems to be running in the task manager but appart from this, zero.
I've tried the administrator mode, the XP compatibility mode, the installation files copied on the C drive, ... nothing works.
I'm running a Windows 7 64 bits system, 8GB ram, and an SSD drive on C:.
Could someone help me with this issue ?
I've looked into the previous discutions on this website about similar issue but it was on different versions of Photoshop.
If my question has been already asked, please forgive me as a first-time user of the adobe community !

  • Photoshop CC 2014 exe.

    Hi all
I'm having problems setting Photoshop CC 2014 as the default programme for psd files.
After I've un-installed Photoshop CC and  installed CC 2014 all my psd files changed to QuickTime icons.
I tried and set them back to psd file format and it doesnt even work.
Does anybody know why this is happening?
    Your help is greatly appreciated
    Cheers,

Just so anyone that sees this will know the sequence of events:
I updated Photoshop CC 2014 and many other CC updates today
I restarted my machine (Windows 7 Pro)
    Clicked Photoshop Start Icon
Photoshop did not start, but Photoshop.exe appears in Windows Task Manager (WTM) under Processes tab (approx. 8 MB of Memory used)
If I click Photoshop Start Icon multiple times, multiple EXEs appear in WTM
Tried right-clicking Photoshop.exe(s) and Ending Processes, then Running Photoshop again (same result)
Restarted my machine a second time
    Now Photoshop CC 2014 runs
I will add an update here if things change.
    Thanks for the help everyone!

  • How do I turn off Photoshop CS6 (PhotoshopCS6.Exe)

have just purchased CS6 and tried to update but once started a box came up asking me to turn off Photoshop CS6 (Photoshop. Exe) which means nothing to me where do I find it to turn it off. Help please

On windows systems you can use the three fingered salute (ctrl-alt-delete) to bring up the task manager. Click on the processes tab. Look through the list for photoshop CS6. Right click on it and select end process or you can just click on it and press the end process button at the bottom of the dialog box.
If it is not listed then it is not running.

  • Problem: Adobe CC deployment of Photoshop kills Explorer.exe

    Hello,
I have created several deployment packages lately via the Creative cloud packager. They are deployed via SCCM and when both InDesign and Illustrator have been working fine while Photoshop kills the Explorer.exe under the deployment.
The explorer.exe does not come back automatically and have to be started via task manager.
I also created a package that includes several programs, among them Photoshop and the same happens with it.
Note: Photoshop do complete the installation and are working correctly.
Is there anyone that have encountered this problem before, and do anyone have a solution for it?

Oh so it is not just me then.  I have this issue and other than doing what you do and starting explorer.exe back up no solution.  As you say the install completes fine and as I build Adobe into our image it is not really a big issue to do this once every six months.

  • Photoshop CS4 "AdobeUberInstaller.exe" do not work on Win7

    Hello,
I've packaged a moment ago Photoshop CS4 (on XP) for my enterprise.
This package worked until we switched on Windows Seven.
Could you please explain why ?
I used the Deployment kit method proposed by Adobe, and I got the AdobeUberInstaller.exe and AdobeUberUninstaller.exe
If I execute the installer on a Win Seven, Nothing happen..
    Please help.

Since you have installed many CS products, in order to determine extensions of which product is being loaded when EM stops,  you can remove one product once a time then launch EM again. You don't need uninstall that product, you only need open XManConfig.xml from install directory or configuration subdirectory of that product, find following line: <Data key="SupportedInSuite">CS5</Data>, and change CS5 to other value temporarily, for example, CS4, then save this file. Launch EM again, if it works properly, then Loading extensions of this product causes this problem. We can check it further.
You can also create a empty file named ExManLog.YES in same directory as Adobe Extension Manager CS5.exe, and see log files in C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Extension Manager CS5 to assist troubleshooting.

  • Loss of Photoshop functionality after update

Yesterday I updated  Photoshop as suggested in a message on my Creative Cloud.  Since the update, much of the functionality inside of Photoshop has been lost from the cloning tool, filters e.g. Camera Raw, saving the file etc etc.  I repeatedly get the message "Could not complete your request because of a program error."  Prior to the update I had no issues with running Photoshop CC on my computer.
    System:  IMAC
    Operating System : OS 10.8.3
Graphics : AMD Radeon HD 6770M 512 MG
    Memory : 16 GB
I have uninstalled and reinstalled from Cloud ... to no avail and after a day of reading forums and trying many different options I just cannot get to the bottom of the problem.
Can anyone advise how do I revert back to the version before the update.  Everything worked perfectly fine in that version.
    Thank you

Thank you Mylenium for your quick response.
Ran the cleaner tool and reinstalled.  Everything seemed to work for about 5 minutes and now it is again back to my original porblem with the "Could not complete your request because of a program error".
So unfortunately I am back to square 1 trying to find a solution.
