Lost all itunes playlists when I reset my apple ID username

I changed my Apple ID username and now all of my iTunes playlists are gone from my iPhone 5C, however all of my music is still there.  When I log-in to iTunes on my iMac all of my music and playlists are still available.  Why are my playlists gone from my iPhone 5C and how do I restore them?  Thanks!

Try going to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • I lost all my playlists when downloading the new itunes. Anyway to get them back?

I lost all my playlists when downloading the new itunes. Besides honestly wanting to cry, is there anyway to get them back without making them all AGAIN? And thanks so much, stupid Apple. Am looking for a new MP3 player to take your stupid ipod player's place. I used to love my ipod...now everytime I turn around, apple has screwed with something that causes ME time and trouble.

  • Lost all itunes purchased when I restored

I was having problems w/ my itunes, needed to download upgrades per att rep. went in to do so, and restored to original settings, lost all of my itune libraryand most pictures. The Mac from which I used to create my library is from my previouse job. Now using a PC, I would like to retreive my itunes library as purchased, how can itunes help. apple said that I could restore once a year. Please advise.Find this process very time consuming.

Hello, Linda, and welcome to the Discussions.
Sorry, I don't know who at Apple might have told you that you could re-download your purchases "once per year", but either they were just flat wrong or there was miscommunication about what you were asking. Officially Apple does not allow redownloads of purchased items other than iPhone/iPod touch applications. It's your responsibility to make backup copies (as iTunes itself advises) in case something goes wrong with your system, as unfortunately it apparently did in your case, and you lose all the information on your hard drive. The official statement of their policy can be found here, among other places. If your hard drive was erased and you don't have a backup of your purchased items, and don't have them on an iPod, you're probably out of luck and will need to repurchase your tracks.
If you have your tracks on an iPod or iPhone, or have them backed up, post back and someone here can help you get them restored. Otherwise you can try contacting iTunes Store Customer Service (select the "Music Purchases" or "Video Purchases" category, as appropriate, then "Lost or Missing Items". Then you'll see a button that says "Email Us") and explaining what happened. Reportedly in some cases Apple has allowed redownloading on a one-time basis. But don't count on it.
    Good luck.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

    You said:
No, I do not want to "factory reset" my iPod. No I do not wish to do anything crazy long or hard to fix this.
That may be necessary, It is not what you want to do/not do but what is required to resolve your problem.

    Hi there,
One thing that may help is re-creating the iTunes library by following the steps in the article below.

If the books were purchased at the iBookStore, you will be able to redownload, like the apps. Some other sellers, like O'Reilly, also allow multiple downloads.
If you have (or can install) iTunes on a computer (Mac preferable, not mandatory) and run it then plug the device in, does it show up? If the computer can detect it, you can and should do a complete backup onto local storage immediately. That can then be used to reconstruct the content of the device on a new or repaired replacement. If you enable encryption, even the passwords will get saved.

  • Lost all my playlists and some music - how to restore?

I'm running itunes on XP and when I booted iTunes today, all my playlists were missing and lots of music.
I don't know of any major crashes or problems with my maching, but the music is gone from iTunes. I went to "mycomputer" and actually found all the tunes, but iTunes cannot find them, and of course, I lost all the playlists. (I've got multiple playlists for each family member and 2 bands in which I play....)
Any ideas on how to restore the playlists and tunes? Why won't iTunes find the music that is actually in the iTunes music folder? I know i could probably drag all the tunes into iTunes again, and then make new playlists but it would take a lot of organizing......grrr
Also, I have almost everything saved on my iPod. Is there some way i can transfer it all back to iTunes from my iPod?
    thank you,

  • I didn't back up and have lost all my data when updating to iOS 7 :(

I didn't back up and have lost all my data when updating to iOS 7 I have an iphone 4s.  Is there any way at all i can recover the data?! Help pls!!!

Actually, if you have never backed up your iPhone with iTunes or iCloud manually, there are still possibilities that iTunes or iCloud has backed up your iPhone automatically: every time you sync the iPhone with iTunes, iTunes will back up your iPhone automatically; if your iCloud backup was enabled, every time your iPhone is connected with Wifi and a power source with screen-locked, iCloud will create a backup automatically. If you find the backups, but the backups are not up to date, and you don’t want to lose the data generated after the backups, you can extract the lost data from the backups using the iPhone backup extractor.
In addition, you can also try to use the iPhone data recovery software to scan and recover the data on your iPhone directly even if you have no backups of your iPhone.

  • My contacts on my old Iphone I gave a family member were deleted then synced to icloud.  My current iphone lost all its contacts when it next synced.  I retreived a 6mth old backup to get my contacts, but I want my recent messages back, any help?

The "system" performed as designed. All devices syncing to one iCloud account are kept in common sync. The idea is that all such devices belong to one user. Different users should have different iCloud accounts.  Once your contacts were edited, all devices were updated as well and subsequent backups (from yours and her device) reflected the changed contacts (and any other data that may have been edited like calendars). Your first task is to change your daughter over to a new account before she makes other changes.
The only way I see for getting back contacts is to restore them from a time machine backup, assuming you also have a Mac included in the account which syncs the contacts. However, I'm not sure whether time machine includes contacts from iCloud along with those that are local, "on my Mac".
Otherwise the deleted contacts are gone.

Despite ticking the box "remove all website data", when I reset Safari not  all stored cookies are eliminated. How can I overcome the problem? Or is it a bug?

I have done a little experimenting: 1-close all open windows (I found that I had to do this step in order to keep Safari from hanging-will be explained later). 2: Remove all data in Prefs. 3: Immediately close the prefs window (no window should be open at this point) and quit Safari. Try to complete step 3 fast as possible; I have it down to a few seconds. The reason I urge you to close all windows is that Safari hangs until forced to quit upon immediately quitting after removing cookies. I think the auto page reload in Lion is the cause of these hiccups but I can't be sure about that. The hasty quit I found is crucial to success. Don't know why that is but it could prevent the data from re-populating. A quick flush, if you will.  Hit me back if you need any of my suggestions clarified; a bit wordy, I know

Its a easy fix,it will take too much time to type out all of the steps,
Check your email account. see if they are their, You can then import them on your DAV card, The best thing to is add them to icoud then they will be safe.
Apple support can talk you through it.
