Lost images via scanner

I run iPhoto vers 9.1.1 and have had a problem in the past with photo's "disappearing" leaving just blanks and photo's taking a while to focus in, cured by rebuilding.
I have recently scanned some transparencies using Epson V600 and dragged and dropped into Events and the same has happened. It has been some time since I have scanned any images in so I suspect this is what caused the problem the first time. Any ideas as don't really want to rebuild everytime I scan and drag and drop. Images downloaded straight in via camera don't appear to cause a problem.

Have looked under colorsync/profiles/scanner and colour set to RGB, not sure if that is what you are referring to.
In the Epson configuration/colour it is ticked as No Color Correction, there is a ColorSync box which if you flag gives Monitor RGB, Adobe RGB, Apple RGB or ColorMatch RGB.
Any help?
Many thanks

  • Import Image from scanner to database Direct ..

can any Colleagues help me ..
how can i Import Image From Scanner directly
if anyone can descuss code and how can i do that
    thank for all Colleagues .......

You cannot.. unless you are prepared to get your hands dirty writing code to integrate a scanner API into Oracle.
Oracle has a feature called extproc. This allows you to define external "procedures" - these procedures are for example shared object libraries (Linux/Unix) or dynamic link libraries (Windows). A scanner API will be typically implemented by its driver as a shared object/DLL. Which means it is callable from within PL/SQL.
It may however not be usable - extproc does not support callbacks, does not own a window or process handle, and so on.
In which case you may need to wrap the DLL into a custom DLL that implements callbacks. perhaps create a hidden window if a window handle is needed, and so on.
In other words, this is not a trivial thing. You need to know more than just a bit about o/s side (systems) programming.
You should also ask yourself why you want to do this. Architecturally wiring a scanner into Oracle via PL/SQL and an extproc interface make absolutely no sense at all.
Especially since operator input/control is required to physically manage device... That is on the very opposite side of the Oracle server spectrum. That is clearly a client function to interact with such a device and not a server function.

  • Referencing images via proxy server

Hi. Has anyone else run into referencing images via an IIS proxy server? I
can use the method to get the context path, but it doesn't bring me back
something I can use to reference images. Do I have to hard code those in
there all the time? :< DOH!

I solved this problem last night. I ditched IIS, redid my machine with just
WLS on it now! :> Now I just have to figure out how to get the FTP
    functionality I lost. Any ideas?

  • How to open and validate the tif images via java?

Is it possible to open and validating the photoshop images via java. Kindly advise me.
    Thanks for looking into this.
    Maria Prabudass

I have recently looked at athe code for Image Processor.
To avoid bailing on errors it uses two techniques.
    1) It turns off all PS error reporting in addition to just turning off dialogs with:     app.displayDialogs = DialogModes.NO;  (it restores the original settings when exiting)
    2) It uses the Javascript construct  Try.....Catch around the basic body of the code so "any" error will not abort the script but just jump to the "Catch" code.
    Hope that is useful

  • Problem using image via URL

    Hi everybody
I have a problem with loading images via URL into my PDFs.
    I am using LCD ES2 Version 9.0.1....
I want to create a PDF which loads images from the internet but it does not work.
So far I have tried to add an image or image field to my PDF in the LCD and populate that image using the Object-->Field-->URL: palett. I put the URL in there like this http://www.adobe.com/imageshome/pdfgift_home.gif , tick the "embed image Data" checkbox (also tried with without that just to be sure) and save as Dynamic PDF (I also tried static) but when I open the PDF in adobe reader 9 or 10 or acrobat  9 there is no image showing. I also put the image in a subform and made that subform flowed, as well as the page itself and made the binding global.
I have the form properties - default set to "Acrobat and Adobe Reader version 9.0 or higher", Default Language to JavaScript, PDF Render format to Dynamic PDF.
I also tried using JavaScript events like "form:ready ImageField2.value.#image.href = "http://www.adobe.com/imageshome/pdfgift_home.gif" as discribed here http://partners.adobe.com/public/developer/en/tips/lc_dynamic_images.pdf but that also does not work.
    What am I missing?
Any help would be great and greatly appreciated!!!
    Thanks and best regards
    Norbert

As far as I can tell, this use case is not allowed because of cross site references related security concerns. The form can refer to the images stored on the same server from where the PDF is served, but the images cannot come from external servers.

  • Can't view shared images via browser

I use an old version of Skype, and I do not want to update. Whenever somebody sends an image via Skype, I see this message:
      <user> sent a photo.
This device doesn't support Skype's new photo sharing features yet, but you can still view it in your browser here:
      https://api.asm.skype.com/s/i?[...]
When I go to the link, it asks me to log into Skype, when I login, I see a page saying "Sorry, we were unable to open this photo. Try signing into Skype again.". No matter how many times I log in again, it still shows this message.
    Please help.
    Thank you.

Images sent from the latest Skype versions on Windows, Mac or smartphones, are transferred now using the new Cloud-based mode. This means that they are not send directly to the recipient, but saved on a Cloud server.
If the recipient is also using one of the latest Skype versions (on Windows it must be 6.21 or later), a preview of this image will be displayed in the chat window.
On older Skype versions, only a link (similar to the one as you are seeing) to this image saved on the Cloud server is displayed.
Theoretically, clicking on this link and signing in with your Skype account should display this image in your browser.
If this was not the case, then the image might have been corrupted or there is an issue with your browser. What browser have you used to open this link?
I use Google Chrome, the latest beta version (40.0.2214.85 beta-m). I find this unlikely that this particular image is corrupted, because I can view it with Skype on my phone, and this issue happens with all images shared via Skype, as far as I can tell.
I have not tried to open the image links in Chrome, but it works with both Firefox and Internet Explorer.
Make sure that you have the latest IE version installed on your computer and try to open this link in IE.

I don't believe the iOS7 update was the cause for your issue. I have three devices all updated and they all show the Import To drop menu in Image Capture as shown below.

  • Need to read image from scanner

    Hi,
I wnat to load image from scanner directly into forms. Then save it into table.
    Shahin

    Here we are..
This is my "bean" for scanning over twain driver or SANE (linux)..
I have used morena twain drivers (JNI), apache httpclient library for java (i need it for http communication between forms and database) and Itex pdf library for java.
    The bean has three options..
    1. you can select the twain device and start to scan
    2. you can view scanned images
    3. you can generate PDF from scanned images and store it to local disk or database..
For example how the form look like:
On the first form you can start a new scann or just delete the temporary files in the local folder (user temporary folder).
After you press the "scann" button the twain dialog apear
    !http://freeweb.siol.net/peterv6i/scan2.jpg!
The dialog of twain device will startup. Here you can set everythig you can (scann area, colors, dpi ...)
The scanned images are transfered on local disk (temp folder). Every scanned images got timestamp value as name of the image (on the picture this are located in the select list)
If you click on the item the scanned image will aper on the screen
    !http://freeweb.siol.net/peterv6i/scan5.jpg!
The last screen is for saving / generate a pdf from the array of images or image.

Why can't I send images via text?

Do you have data enabled? MMS enabled? While it doesn't count against your data plan, your phone should be able to send small photos, but does require a data connection.
