LR 4.1, Book module, printing a double page with graphic bakground to pdf

Iam wrong, or did I found a bug?
In the book module, when printing to pdf a double page layout with graphic background, the background only appears on one of the 2 pages, the other page background remains blank !

I just finished watching all the videos up regarding the new book module and have a few questions:
If I wanted to use the book module to create layouts for a company other than Blurb, is there a way to set up custom book sizes? Or is the module limited to Blurb's standard sizes?
If I export a book layout to PDF, can I then split up the PDF pages and save them individually as jpg files in Acrobat Pro or some other program?
Will the LR 4 book module always be exclusively affiliated with Blurb, or is there some chance in the future for book sizes/specs from other companies to be used instead (a la PhotoJunction's Lab Resources or DIY sizing)?
Thanks.

  • PDF printing of web-pages WITH background?

    How do I make it possible to have the background image/pattern/colour etc. of a web-page included when I "print" to PDF?
    Whenever I print a web page with something in the background other than white it's missing in the PDF file. This happens in my daily-use browser (Seamonkey), but also in Safari. However, in iCab (http://www.icab.de/) the background is included in the PDF file, so at least it's possible in MacOS. I just can't find any settings for it.

    Yes, this worked! Thanks!
    Another neat trick I found is that you can save the different settings. Just go to the "presets" part of the print menu, then save the current setting. For example by naming it "PDF printing with background".
    Then turn off the background colour/image/pattern and save it as a new preset (e.g. "Print (to paper)").
    That way you don't need to waste lots of ink, but at the same time you'll get the complete web-page with background and all when you save it as a PDF file. Just remember to select the right preset before you "print".

  • How can I print the test page with the Arabic type from the command line

    Hi,
    I have been trying to make the tool for printing the test page from the command line on the Arabic OS. I used "rundll32 printui dll printuientry" with "/k /n" options. My tool is to print the test page in all OS when pushing the
    button.
    Normally, in the Arabic Windows, the test page is printed with RTL type when printing the test page in the "Devices and Printers". But in my tool, the test page is printed with LTR type. I'm confused because of this result.
    Is it possilbe to print the test page with RTL type when using the "rundll32 printui dll printuientry"? If it is possible, could anyone give me the hint or information for resolving?
    Please check for me.

  • Print postcards from 'Pages' with a Lexmark C544dn printer?

    I have been trying, unsuccessfully, to print postcards from 'Pages' with a Lexmark C544dn printer. As far as I can say, I have correctly set all parameters, but the output is always blank. Any ideas? FYI Lexmark have been unable to help!!

    Hi Jerry, and thanks for your response.
    What I want to achieve is a landscape postcard with one line of text across the top. I use this to stick on a few sticky notes for training workshop participants to use, to record their special interests for the session. I have done this for years with a Windows PC, MS Word and an HP4500dn LaserJet, and assumed that it would be a simple process with the new set-up (iMac, OS-X 10.7.4, iWork Pages 4.1 and Lexmark C544dn).
    I started a blank document, with the paper size set to 6 x 4 inches landscape format. I re-set the margins to suit the size of the postcard, so that the text appeared to be in the right position, on screen.
    I used the MP tray to feed the paper (there is only this one input, apart from the regular paper tray), and have tried this at the left side, in the centre and at the right side, in both landscape and portrait format.
    I have even tried putting a sheet of portrait A4 paper through, and the printing shows up two thirds towards the bottom of the sheet, across the narrow dimension of the sheet. This makes me think that the machine is 'printing' after the paper has passed through.
    Any idea what I am missing? Thanks, Geoff
    Your trial with a full size paper tells the story, I think. Your ink is missing the post card. Try again with a small card. After initiating the Print function, make sure you are seeing the expanded Print dialog with the preview on the left side of the dialog window. Does everything look OK there? Paper correct size and orientation? Text showing where it should in the preview?

  • Images printing over double page spreads

    Hi all,
    I was just about to order a new book through Aperture, when I looked closely at the PDF and noticed that there was image duplication when an image was placed across a double page spread - the duplication occurs right where the spine would be - about an inch (maybe less) or so of the photo is repeated on both the left and right pages. Has anyone else experienced a problem with this? Is this correct? Perhaps it's just allowing for the binding process. Any help gratefully taken - even more so if you could check your own printed books and see if there are any issues with images printed over a double page spread.
    Thanks,
    GT
    PS - rwboyer - I just emailed you privately about this as well, to include an image - sorry if that is terribly rude.

    Hi again,
    I've answered by own question (or had it answered by Apple) - DO NOT drag an image box over the spine - it will cause a significant amount of duplication of the image on both the left and right pages. This will be reflected in the print version.
    I've suggested to Apple that there should be something that stops users from doing this. In my opinion, it's not good enough that the software interface allows you to do this, only to screw it up at the print stage.

  • Need a recommendation on using the book module ...having trouble with choosing the best template and adjusting text etc.

  • How to fix extremely slow printing from web pages with latest updates (iMac) & HP Office jet printer. (It was not a problem with earlier versions of Firefox & same computer & printer.)

    The latest two updates of Mozilla Firefox are not useful for me because of extremely slow printing of web pages. It was never a problem before. Same iMac and HP officejet printer. How can I either fix it, or revert to an earlier version of the browser (without losing all my bookmarks) which didn't cause this problem?

    Try scanning from your Mac.  Use Image Capture app in your Applications folder.
    Click once on the scanner on the left side, then click on Show Details along the bottom.  Along the right side you will see LOTS of options for scanning and saving.
    Say thanks by clicking "Kudos" "thumbs up" in the post that helped you.

  • Print out a page with a all controls

    Hello
    Is it possible to print out all the controls on a page.
    I meam all together with one function?
    Thanks
    Phil1

    I assume you're asking how do you print an MFC dialog with all of its controls. Is that correct? If so, try adding a method to your dialog class with this code:
    CPrintDialog printDlg(FALSE);
    if (printDlg.DoModal() != IDOK)
    return;
    DOCINFO documentInfo;
    ::ZeroMemory(&documentInfo, sizeof(documentInfo));
    documentInfo.cbSize = sizeof(documentInfo);
    documentInfo.lpszDocName = _T("Dialog Document");
    HDC hdcPrinter = printDlg.GetPrinterDC();
    CDC printerDC;
    printerDC.Attach(hdcPrinter);
    printerDC.StartDoc(&documentInfo);
    printerDC.StartPage();
    HDC hdcScreen = ::GetDC(NULL);
    CDC screenDC;
    screenDC.Attach(hdcScreen);
    long screenPpiX = ::GetDeviceCaps(hdcScreen, LOGPIXELSX)
    long screenPpiY = ::GetDeviceCaps(hdcScreen, LOGPIXELSY);
    long printerPpiX = ::GetDeviceCaps(hdcPrinter, LOGPIXELSX);
    long printerPpiY = ::GetDeviceCaps(hdcPrinter, LOGPIXELSY);
    long xRatio = printerPpiX / screenPpiX;
    long yRatio = printerPpiY / screenPpiY;
    CRect windowRect;
    GetWindowRect(&windowRect);
    CRect targetRect = windowRect;
    targetRect.right = targetRect.left + (targetRect.Width() * xRatio);
    targetRect.bottom = targetRect.top + (targetRect.Height() * yRatio);
    targetRect.OffsetRect(
    -targetRect.left + (targetRect.left * xRatio),
    -targetRect.top + (targetRect.top * yRatio)
    CDC* dialogDC = GetDC();
    printerDC.StretchBlt(
    0,
    0,
    targetRect.Width(),
    targetRect.Height(),
    dialogDC,

    0,
    windowRect.Width(),
    windowRect.Height(),
    SRCCOPY
    ReleaseDC(dialogDC);
    screenDC.Detach();
    p
    rinterDC.EndPage();
    printerDC.EndDoc();
    printerDC.Detach();
    This isn't perfect, but hopefully it can get you started.

  • Printing Terms & Conditions Page With an Invoice

    Hi Everyone,
    Our PDF invoices are maintained using SFP transaction & Adobe Livecycle Designer 7.0.  We want to have one type of invoices in which a "Terms and Conditions" page is printed after the invoice if it meets a certain criteria (if it is a specific plant).   I know there are master pages and body pages.  I was looking at just having one master page with 2 body pages - 1 for the invoice details and 1 for the "Terms & Conditions" page.  I want the "Terms & Conditions" page to print out only when it is a specific plant using WERKS but I'm not sure where I can put this logic in to make this work.  I was thinking it would be imbedded somehow in the body page but I can't seem to make it work.  Can someone offer any suggestions on this?

    Hi,
    Goto the T.Code "NACE".
    Select "V3(Billing)".Click on "Output types".
    Select your output type.
    Click on "Processing routines".
    Make a copy of the smart form displayed there.
    Goto the T.Code "SMARTFORMS".Enter your smart form here.
    In this for displaying any page you can maintain the condition.
    Maintain you condition as if "WERKS=your value".
    Ask your ABAPer to maintain that condition.
    Save.

    No the printer does not. I was finally able to solve the problem:
    1. The X driver will not download at all from Minolta's site on the Mac Pro using firefox or safari as its a .gz file.

    2. Found another link to download from Minolta. Installer would not work - it quit with an error - Minolta site says 10.2 or later - using 10.7.4 so maybe not.

  • Will I loose my projects (7 books to print of 265 pages each which mean a lot of work) if I upgrade from iPhoto 7 to latest version ?

    I'm on OSX 10.7.5. I have worked over 2 years on 7 books of 265 pages to print via iPhoto 7. Now that I'm ready to print them… it says that I need a newer version. I'm really afraid to upgrade, because I don't want to loose everything. If I upgrade to Photo will my projects be affect ?
    Thanks a lot !

    Personally, I would also make an independent back up, just in case:
    Most Simple Back Up:
    Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
    Slightly more complex: Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically.
    Example of such apps: Chronosync - but there are many others. Search on MacUpdate or the App Store

  • Book Module - how to change page size?

    I'd like to design book pages for my existing hard covers - A4 landscape and portrait. Also for specific 12x12 cover which takes 11.69" x 12" paper.
    Have watched various YouTubes, search within support - but haven't found a reference to add preferred sizes. Yet.
    Can anyone help on this one please?

    Yep, that's how I am doing it. I just wanted to make sure that I was doing it correctly. I need to keep debugging then and figure out what the real problem is. I am new to all of this (obviously) and I just needed to make sure I had the idea correct. I didn't mean to use document and page interchangeably, I understand that you can't have different size pages in the same document.
    Thank you for your help.
    [FYI]I created a class that creates a document with most of the document settings that I use (e.g. a standard number of pages, non-facing pages, units in inches, etc.) but I don't specify a page size, that's something that varies between documents, so I figured I could just apply that after I have created the page. The problem is, when I try to create multiple documents it doesn't work. The script will create the first document using the default page size settings and I can't get it to change the page size, but then the next document will be created using the page size I tried to apply from the previous document that the script created. I am sure this is totally a coding error somewhere else. I will try to track it down. Just when I think I have this stuff figured out . . .
