LR 5 How to specify serial number after installation on new computer through Create Cloud Desktop app

Hello,
I have purchased LR 5 last year. I have receive my new iMac during Christmas and I have reinstalled LR5. To install it, I had to use the Create Cloud Desktop using my Adobe credentials. After one month, it turned out that my LR5 version was still a trial version. I am looking in all LR5 menus to specify my serial numbers received with my purchase confirmation. So far, I did not succeeded ... and meanwhile, I cannot access my photos anymore. Can you help me?

You need to uninstall the CC version and install LR 5 from either the DVD or by downloading the stand alone version, IE Not the CC version.

  • After I restart my computer, Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app fails to open (Windows 7)

    I started having this problem pretty late last night. Some of my applications still work -- Audition, Premiere, Media Encoder, and Lightroom -- but After Effects, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat and Illustrator also fail to launch. Some display a generic "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You  may not have appropriate permissions to access the item." Other's don't, displaying a blank white icon next to the program file name.
    I have uninstalled/reinstalled everything (including Windows 7). To be clear, Creative Cloud *works* after I reinstall it, but as soon as I reboot my computer or restart in order to reinstall other apps, I only see the image below. I canot edit preferences or view updates and requests. I then have to uninstall creative cloud and reinstall in order to get it up and running again.
    I'm baffled. No clue why certain apps load and others are damaged or something, and it seems there's no work around native to Adobe.
    Aother piece of perhaps relevant information; WIndows installed a critical update on Feb. 23rd (day before I started having this issue). Might be relevant, but I've since re-installed windows and in the interim period between that update and my first failure, I was able to access Photoshop and After Effects.

    Unfortunately, that did not solve the issue. Renamed the file and was able to download new programs. I was even able to use them (after effects and photoshop), but when I restarted, they were lost again. Now Audition doesn't even work. I get this message: "Adobe Application Manager, required to start your trial, is missing or damaged. Please download a new copy of adobe application manager from http://www.adobe.com/go/applicationmanager.
    So basically, everytime I restart my computer, I have to download the cloud desktop app, install it, then install whatever programs I want to use. Then I can't restart or else I risk losing them and have to do the process all over again. Desperate for a solution on this one.

    I did a migration to a new MacBook pro from my old iMac and now Aperture is asking me for the serial number.
    I thought using the Apple migration would take care of the complete migration.
    This is the only SW that I have noticed that have this issue. All other of my licensed SW is working just fine after the migration.

  • Aperture won't take serial number after transfer to new computer

    I used the Migration Assistant to move from an old computer to a new one.  Now Aperture asks for a serial number and it won't take the one I have.  It's the orginal number that came with the software.

    Pro Apps like Aperture don;' take to being installed that way. You'd be best to re-install it from the media you received it on (I'm assuming you didn't get it from the App Store as you mentioned a serial number).
    If you don;' have the original media you can download the trial version and use the serial number you have to authorize it.

    This should be a pretty good guide for setting up the iPad with a new computer and for keeping your content.
    Don't forget to authorize the new computer as well. Launch iTunes and go to Store>Authorize this Computer.

    1) Without connecting your iPad to your laptop, start iTunes. Click on Edit. Click on Preferences. Click on Devices. Check the box next to "Prevent your iPod etc. from automatically syncing." Click OK.
    2) Now connect your iPad to your laptop and start iTunes.
    3) When iTunes starts, right click on your iPad under Devices in the left column. Select Transfer purchases etc.
    4) After it finishes transferring all your apps to your new laptop, right click on your iPad and select Backup your iPad.
    5) After it finishes backing up your iPad, right click on your iPad and select Restore etc.
    6) After it finishes restoring, left click on your iPad , then click on the Apps tab on top, and check the box next to Sync Apps, then click on Apply below.
    If everything on your iPad looks good after the sync, go back and click on Edit / Preferences / Devices and UN-check the box next to Prevent your iPod etc. The only other thing you may want to check is if your contacts, bookmarks, etc. are syncing correctly now. If not, go to the Info tab after connecting and make sure you indicate which features you want to sync with what sources.
    Make sure that you move your iTunes library from the old computer to the new one as well for all of your music.

    Have you installed Lightroom 5.6 using Creative Cloud desktop App?
    If yes, Quit Lightroom 5 and navigate to
    mac hd/library/application support/adobe/lightroom folder
    Then trash Lightroom 5 install cookie file
    Launch Lightroom and try activating.

    Apple support has been pretty good in the past suplying new serial numbers with the bare minimun of documentation.

    I have finally (and emotionally) retired my beloved G4 Powerbook for one of these new fangled MacBooks - very nice as I expected. To do this I used the migration tool as I always do and everything appeared hunky dory and exactly as it should be......until I fired up ARD. It is now prompting me for the serial number - this would of course be easy to get hold of if I had kept the box when I installed it about two years ago - however I didn't - my bad. I still have the Powerbook (luckily as I am a network administrator and kinda need ARD!) and was wondering of there was any way that anyone knew of to get the old serial number out of it so I can finally, properly retire her and run ARD on my new laptop. Any help gratefully appreciated !

    Templeton is correct; there's no way to read the serial number off your existing computer since ARD keeps the number in an encrypted form. You might be able to get it to work by copying the com.apple.RemoteDesktop.plist file in Library/Preferences to the same location on your new computer, but I haven't tried it so I'm not sure it will work. If not, the serial would have been on a small card that came in the package, so you'll need to find that. If you can't, you can try calling Apple and see if there's anything they can do for you, but it's doubtful.

    I purchased Lightroom 5 in November 2013 and have a serial number that worked on a 64bit PC at that time.  I just purchased a new 64bit PC and downloaded the current version of Lightroom 5 (64bit 5,7.1) using Creative Cloud.   This started a 30 day trial that works fine.  When I try to enter the serial number I received in Nov 2013 the message returned is: "The serial number you entered in invalid."   What's wrong?  (PS  I still have the old PC that is in storage.)

    When copying data from your OLD profile to your NEW profile, copy individual FILES (some require more than 1 FILE). DO NOT copy the entire OLD PROFILE folder; it will not work.

    Use
    You can enter serial numbers for each purchase order item in the subcontract purchase order.
    Serial number management for purchase orders is based on the existing serial number management functions. For more information, see the SAP Library, under Logistics ® LO Logistics - General ® Logistics Basic Data (LO-MD) ® Serial Number Management (LO-MD-SN).
    Prerequisites
    ·        You have created a serial number profile.
    ·        You have assigned procedure POSL to the serial number profile.
    Assigning POSL to the serial number profile determines whether serial number management can be used in purchase orders individually for each purchase order item. In the General Plant Data/Storage 2 view of the material master, you assign the serial number profile to the material. You can define whether a serial number is mandatory or optional for a purchase order item.
    You do both of these activities in Customizing for Serial Number Management under Plant Maintenance and Customer Service ® Master Data in Plant Maintenance and Customer Service ® Technical Objects ® Serial Number Management ® Define Serial Number Profiles.
    Features
    ·        You can assign serial numbers to purchasing documents with category Purchase Order (document category = F). You cannot assign serial numbers to categories Purchase Requisition, Contract or Scheduling Agreement. In the purchase requisition, you can enter the serial number in the long text for informatory purposes.
    ·        You can assign the serial number to the subcontract purchase order item along with the material number you expect to be returned by the subcontractor.
    ·        In the purchase order, you assign the serial numbers in a dialog box. This is similar to the guidelines for standard serial number management.
    ·        For a recursive repair, where the same physical part is returned by the subcontractor with unchanged material and serial numbers (subcontracting type = Refurbishment with Unchanged Material Number), the serial number linked to the purchase order item is the same for the part provided to the subcontractor (component) and for the receiving part (item). An unplanned serial number change is possible during goods receipt if the subcontractor returns a completely different part.
    ·        For a planned modification, where the same physical part is returned by the subcontractor with a changed material number (subcontracting type = Refurbishment with Changed Material Number), the serial number linked to the purchase order item is the same for the part provided to the subcontractor (component) and for the receiving part (item). An unplanned serial number change is possible during goods receipt if the subcontractor returns a completely different part.
    ·        If you have already entered the serial number in a PM/CS order, and the purchase order item has already been created from that order, the system copies the serial number from the object list of the order. Otherwise, you can enter the serial number manually. The system does not check or compare the PM/CS order with the purchase order item; therefore, the serial number in the purchase order may be different to the one in the PM/CS order.
    ·        The actual status of the serial number regulates usability of specific serial numbers in purchase orders. The serial number can be assigned to the purchase order item if the following conditions are fulfilled:
    ¡        Purchase order is not blocked, deleted, or canceled (EKPO-LOEKZ)
    ¡        Purchase order contains only one schedule line
    ¡        Delivery completed indicator is not set
    ¡        Purchase order item has item category Subcontracting (EKPO-PSTYP = 3).
    ·        Only the first schedule line is considered for serial number assignment.
    ·        The system copies the serial number from the purchase order item to the delivery item for outbound deliveries with reference to a purchase order.
    ·        The number of the serial numbers assigned to the purchase order item equals the quantity of the purchase order item.
    ·        The serial number in the purchase order item belongs only to the main part to be repaired, that is the part with material provision indicator (MPI) Rework Material to Subcontractor. If the provided components (consumables) are also serialized, you can enter these serial numbers in the follow-on processes for creating the outbound delivery or posting the transfer posting to the subcontractor.
    You can mark a component with this MPI only in the case of a recursive repair, that is subcontracting types Refurbishment with Unchanged Material Number or Refurbishment with Changed Material Number.
    ·        Once you have entered serial numbers for a purchase order item, you cannot change:
    ¡        Item category
    ¡        Subcontracting type
    ¡        Main rework part on component level
    If you want to make changes to the subcontract purchase order for a serialized component, you have to delete the serial number assignment and change the purchase order items.
    If you change the purchase order quantity, you might have to enter additional serial numbers (increase in purchase order quantity) or delete existing serial numbers (decrease in purchase order quantity).

    You have to just sign in with your Adobe Id during the installation process and it will validate your subscription from the activation server. Once your Id is validated then your subscription will be activated. You don't need serial number to activate subscription.
