LSMW Specify files--multiple files

Hi ,
I have the data in two files.
how can i specify these two files . i know we have to use the option wildchar in hte step "specify files"
can anyone give me the exact procedure to do the same.

Hi Kiran,
U don't always need to use wildcards - if u have 2 files and u know their full names then there's no need for wildcards. It depends on how many source structures u defined in "Maintain Source Structures" step.
If u have 2 source struc. and 2 files (1 file for each source) then it's very simple:
In "Specify Files" step, create the 1st file. Then click on "Legacy Data" again and click create again. Enter the data (name etc.) and confirm. Now u will see 2 files (on both u have to choose "Data for one source structure" radio button). Save and go to the next step "Assign Files": here assign to each source struc. its own file and u're done.
If u have 2 files for 1 source u can simply create a new file and copy both files into it one after the other.
If it's another case describe it so i can answer.
Usually the use of wildcards is done only when u have a long list of files and it's to much work to create them all or a part of the file name is not constant.

hi all
i have just converted a couple of files with some software, but it hasnt put the file extension on, does anyone know of a way to automatically change them, they are already mp4 files but missing the .mp4 on the name part, can anyone help me out to change it without having to manually type it into every single file as that will take me ages now, but i do know for next time when i use this software.

Just a warning: are you sure the extension is missing ? in some cases the extension is in the file name but it is hidden (it's used by the system and is exported but you don't see it in the finder).
In order to check it, in the Finder you can select the file icon, and use the Get Info command (cmd-I): when existing the extension can be read in the "Name and Extension" field, but if the Hide Extension option is set, that extension for that file will be hidden in the finder windows.

Multiple Idocs to Multiple files

Hi,
I have a Idoc to File Scenario, where I get multiple Idocs and I need to generate multiple files with different file names
Assume I am using file XML port at SAP to collect the Idocs.
Target files are generated based on two field values (Delivery Type and Shipping Point)from Idoc.
Eg:
I have three Idocs at a time.
Idoc1 has Delivery Type = EL & Shipping Point = 2550 --> Target file name is test1.bpr
Idoc2 has Delivery Type = LF & Shipping Point = 2551 --> Target file name is test2.bps
Idoc3 has Delivery Type = NL & Shipping Point = 2552 --> Target file name is test3.bpr and test3.bps
1) Does Mult-mapping support in the case... ?
2) Do I need to change the Idoc Occurrence 0 to unbounded ?
3) What will be the Occurrences in the interface Mapping
4) Can i generate Multiple fileswith different names at one time as specified above using Dynamic Configuration?
5) What will be the Target Structure Occurrence ?

Though I am using Multi - Mapping only 1 file is being created. I tested with two Idocs, where 2 files should be created.
In Moni, under Payload, I can see 2 sets of Main Document and SubMainDocument been created.
How to generate 2 files/multiple files ?
If Dynamic Configuration is not supported in case of Multi Mapping, If I want to use Variable Substitution, then What will be the Target path to be defined in the comm channel since Multi mapping is there. I am trying to define for Action field. Does Variable Substitution support Attributes in the aml payload ?

LSMW with multiple transaction n multiple files

Hi experts,
is it possible to do data transfer using LSMW(recording) with multiple transaction and multiple files .
Like 3 transaction and 3 files.
I want 1st transaction and 1st file to upload first then
2nd transaction and 2nd file

i think you mean that you want to process first the 1st record of file1 with transaction 1 than 1st record of file 2 with transaction 2
This is possible using recordings(as you asked for).
First Maintain Object Attributes then mark batch input recordings and maintain recordings name.
On the right side are two buttons one for overviewing recordings and one for maintaining more recordings.
Here enter your additional recordings.
Now specify for each recording a own Source Structure and
maintain the Structure Relations and so on...
If you just want to do 1st transaction with all records of file1 than 2nd transaction use three different LSMWs.
You can automize the process by using Data Transfer Workbench(SXDA).

hi Tanmay,
for uploading data from excel sheet you have to save your excel file in ".csv" format. i.e. "csv-comma delimited" or "text with tab delimited".
FIRST SAVE YOUR EXCEL SHEET WITH ",csv" format
In the step SPECIFY FILES->SELECT LEGACY DATA ON pC->select create button on toll bar->specify path->give name
here only u can specify 'File Content' as data from one structure , 'Delimiter as comma', 'File Structure' as filed order matches source structure definition,
'File Type' as Record end marker(text file),'Code Page' as ASCII.

i want to read multiple files of specified format from a selected folder, even if the selected folder contains multiple sub-folders, is it possible, if so please provide me a sample.

Outlook - The path specified for the file SharePoint Lists PST is not valid

Some users are connecting via Citrix XenApp to Microsoft Server 2008 R2 and using Microsoft Office 2010 (14.0.7109.5000) SP2 MSO (14.0.7116.5000) - Microsoft Office Profressional Plus 2010 x86 version for their email. Microsoft Exchange Server 2010
SP2 for email.
They are connected to Microsoft SharePoint 2010 SP2 August 2013 CU, via a SharePoint Calender; they have View permissions to the SharePoint calendar using Classic Mode permissions (Not Claims). No permissions have / are changing on this SharePoint
Calendar. They connect to the SharePoint Calender to Outlook.
When they open up their Office Outlook client, they receive an error "Outlook Data File" "The path specified for the file \AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\SharePoint Lists.pst is not valid." OK
They select OK and they get a window popping up with the option to try to find the SharePoint list. "Create/Open Outlook Data File" (File name: 'SharePoint Lists') Open Cancel. They select Cancel.
They are returned to their Outlook client "email."
As an I.T. administrator and SharePoint Administrator, I had a remote session with them, using Bomgar software and I Go to File Menu, Account Settings, SharePoint Lists Tab but there is no list there so go to the Data Files tab and see SharePoint Lists listed.
Selecting it once, and clicking on Settings... button gives error message similar to the one above about PST not valid.
STRANGE in that, when you do that! You can go to Home tab, Calendar (Ctrl+2), and see Other Calendars and now the SharePoint calendar that was supposed to be there before, but was just "empty!" There was only the Other Calendars
option but it didn't have any "sub" calendar item.
A similar issue is when Other Calendars is listed, and has a sub calendar listed, a SharePoint connected calendar. You click on it and get "Microsoft Outlook" "The set of folders cannot be opened. The path specified for the file c:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\SharePoint
Lists.pst is not valid." OK
Click OK and go through the above steps to get the same result. After going into Account Settings, Data Files, checking on the Settings... button, and receiving the error message, again mentioned above, and the prompt to Create/Open Outlook Data File,
thgen I can go back into Account Settings, Data Files, and double click on the SharePoint Lists and instead of an error, the Outlook Data File comes up, with Change Password... Compact Now, Comment, Name, Filename, Format (Outlook Data File) OK Cancel.
Can go back to the Calendar (Ctrl+2) and Other Calendars, and the SharePoint Calendar "Sub calendar" will appear and operate as normal! All was done was go into the Account settings and "check" on the "error."
Tried to delete the SharePoint Lists and close out and add it and then go back in, and it "worked" for a few days. I later turned on Logging and for over 24 hours it was on for the user. The user was not on forever.
In the Outlook Logging folder, from the users profile, I found many *.log files, firstrun, OPMLog, ETL files, one of which is 6MB, and some prof_001_outlook....txt files. I clickedo n the SharePoint Lists.pst.log file 1KB

They are using a CRM client 2011 (Server is CRM 2011 - on premise) as well as having other connected email accounts - managed accounts, like Accounting or HR, etc.
What can I look for / provide for you all to assist? I am almost ready to open a ticket with Microsoft to resolve this as it has been happening for multiple users for multiple weeks.
When "I" go in, logged on as myself, I do NOT have this problem, however my account is not "old" in that I just logged onto the account domain\matthew.carter, where these users use their accounts day in and day out for weeks / months

Unfortunately, what was marked as an "answer" by the moderators isn't really an answer at all to the problem. We are experiencing pretty much an identical issue with a calendar people are adding to Outlook 2010 from SharePoint 2010 within a XenApp

How to upload multiple files into a server location at a single time

Hi All,
In my application i need to send multiple files from a particular page into the server location. In this page there will be an option to upload a file and after selecting the file , we will have an option asking if we were interested to send another file. It works just similar to google mail where we can multiple files at the same time. Right now though i had coded the uploading files concept i am facing some problems when trying to upload multiple files. All the files are being appended to a single file but i want them to be placed as different files at the specified location. Plz help me in this regard...

In the above line i am specyfying that the maximum no. of files to be uploaded is 3. So if i upload less than 3 files, the program doesn't work and is not reading the uploaded files. If i upload 3 files it works fine. So please suggest me how to make this work irrespective of the no. of files uploaded using apache commons.

Error in loading the multiple file loading

Did you try to run only the interface? It might not work.
Try executing your interface from within a package. A previous step should refresh / set the variable.

Illustrator CS6 Running an Action on Multiple files in a folder

I'm having trouble getting this to work and was hoping someone could shed some light for me.
I created a action in Illustrator CS6 (on a PC) which opens PNG files, scales them onto a 8.5 x 11 page, saves them as a PDF into a output folder on my desktop and then closes the page. The action works great and does exactly what I had hoped for.
Here is my issue:
I now have a need to do this on multiple files at the same time. Using the Illustrator Help menu, I found out about Batch processing. The tutorial says that a batch can be run on a single file or on a folder of files. Bingo! That's what I want. Problem is, I can't get it to work.
After setting up the batch with the following settings: (note: I didn't use a destination folder because I have the action saving the pdf into an output folder on the desktop).
According to the help page, it said to use Override Action "Open" commands which Opens the files from the specified folder and ignores any Open commands recorded as part of the original action. I thought this is what I needed to open all the files in the folder, because when recording my action, I had to use the open command to open a png file. It wouldn't just let me choose a folder. If I don't have the open command in the action, nothing happens.
My main issue is getting multiple files from within my input folder to open when running the action. The only file that opens is the file that I recorded while creating the action. If I remove that file from the folder, nothing happens at all.

I need to create a Action in Illustrator CS6 where i have to open set of files from the desired folder and convert the files to eps format. but i need to save as CS5 version instead of CS6.
I tried creating the Action it works perfectly except the CS6 to CS5 conversion.
Is there any way to achive converting to CS5 in Action?

When you extract the ZIP, just made away with the file directory path is created,
you can not open the attachment and open the folder several times.

For example, the two CSV when put together in one ZIP file, the workbench in the CSV file to specify the full path. CSV file, the workbench under the Web folder and then five in the second tier. At this time, who received an email with this attachment is to open the attachments, ZIP and open the file, open the following folder hierarchy, the next ..., and, many times to open the folder , will finally open a CSV file. Many times without opening the folder you want to open a CSV file.

Problem with multiple file download

I have a code that downloads multiple files from the database and then saves it to a specified directory. I work fine but when I check the contents of the file, some of them are not complete. Lets, say I have downloaded 16 files and only file # 4,5,6,7 have the correct contents as compared to the original.
Why is that so?

FTP - FCC - GUILDFTPd - Unable to pick up multiple files with Wildcard char

I am not sure if my issue is strange or i may be missing something here. I am using FTP - FCC and using GUILDFTPd to connect to my local machine. This is working perfect if i don't use wildcard characters in file name but if i use them it is not picking up files. I have green in Channel monitoring and polling as mentioned for every 60 Seconds.
I have tried both using/without using 'Advanced selection for source file' and also checked 'Adapter specific message attributes'. The same is working if i specify exact file name. By the way, i have tried using '*' and '?' as wildcard character.
Any idea or help in this regard is appreciated.

I have tried with just basic. I mean, it works fine if i specify exact file name. The problem is only when i want to pick up multiple files using any wildcard character. No error in communication channel or in archive settings as the scenario working for one file without any wildcard.
However, i have changed to NFS and it is working good even with wildcard characters.
It seems there is a problem with GUILDFTPd which is not picking up files but no errror.
Any ideas are welcome. Thank you both for the responses.

Multiple file receiver scenario

I am carrying on a file to multiple files scenario(3 in no). The scenario is simple and it's just that some fields of <b>Sender File</b> are mapping to <b>Receiver Files</b>
There are no conditional routing, BPM etc. I have done all the IR part

Source message type is Sender Message type while Target messages includes all the Receiver Message types.
<u><b>Interface Mapping</b></u>
A corresponding interface mapping giving the above Message Mapping is done.

I did the similar kind of scenario recently
where in I was to dynamically send the data to the corresponding reciever (one out of 3 receivers) based on one field on the source side.
dont get confused with standard and extended.
In standard you can achieve this directly using context object or X path definition
eg : if you want to route data based on a field say ...
if abcd = '3' then route the message to "Receiver I"
if abcd = '4' then route the message to "Receiver II"
if abcd = '5' then route the message to "Receiver III"
specify the same in the configured receiver condition
you will have 1 receiver determination, 3 receiver and interface agreements
