LSMW to process SAP Orders - Performance

We are planning an interface using LSMW to post Orders into ERP form a
text file; we need you advice to understand LSMW application from a
performance point of view and if LSMW is the right choice; we want to
import ~1.000.000 SAP orders in a 8 to12 hs maximum window; the idea is
to use BAPIs or IDOcs to speed up processing...
Any advice or recommendation from your side will be greatly appreciated! All the best,
Federico

You can also create IDocs with LSMW, so it's not really mutualy exclusive. One of the advantages of LSMW is that it can also perform the necessary conversions before creating the order, e.g. if you have a legacy material number in the file, it can be converted in LSMW. BDC should have the same speed as LSMW, with exception of these additional transformations.
Actually all options, including BAPI and IDoc end up in the same function module and could be rather slow. ATP check is usually the worst offender, followed by the custom code in the user exits and SIS updates.
Try prototyping this in a test system and see if LSMW performance is good enough. Most likely your Production system is faster - consult with your Basis admin to estimate the difference. I would not recommend investing in a BAPI program if it's just a one-time upload. SD BAPIs are notorious for not working the same way transaction does. I personally had a bad experience with them not filling in the fields for no reason and not determining the right price. If you have enough resources for testing, you might get a better performance with BAPI, but otherwise I wouldn't recommend this option.
I seriously doubt IDocs will be much faster than LSMW - they need to update their own status tables, etc. The only good thing is that you'll be able to track each order and re-process easily if an error occurs.
In any case try to utilize the system in full - maybe starting several LSMWs or other processes at the same time will be faster. Check with Basis.

  • Delete button in process purchase order

    Hi All,
I need some informaiton on the "Delete" button in process purchase order screen.
Has it been enabled only for held POs? It is disabled in case of ordered POs. Can we enable it for ordered POs?
Also, I put an ordered PO on hold and after that I could see the delete button enabled in PO. When I delete it, it is giving me the message "Your order was deleted". But still I could able to see the Po in the system.
Is there a note or SAP help describing this? Plz help.
    Thanks,

Once the PO is published, you cannot delete it. If you have created a change version for the published PO, you can delete the change version but not already published PO.

  • Process Sales Order based on minimum order

    Hi Sap gurus,
Can any one Help me Out regarding How the System should have capability to process Sales Order based on minimum order quantity and minimum order value and How we will map In sap
    Thanks
    Points will rewards
    Regards
    Rajesh

    Hi,
We can set the control for Min order quantity in the Sales org1 view. Like wise we can control min order value also.
For that we have to use two condition types AMIW & AMIZ.
AMIW is min order value, where as AMIZ is min ord surcharge
Let's say AMIW value is 50,000.If the order value is less than 50,000 then AMIZ comes into picture.Amiz compares the automatically determined order value and AMIW value. The difference of those two values Amiz takes as surcharge and it overwrites the automatically determined order value with this value.
Like wise we can maintain min order value also by using this two cond types.
    In the pricing procedure
                            subtotal      req   Altcal   Altcond+bv
    AMIW                D
    AMIZ                                  2         13
Award me points if u satisfy

  • WMS :  How to Process Sales Order Released before Turning on WMS

    Hello Gurus,
How to process sales orders released before WMS enable flag is turned on in the  new WMS enviournment in Oracle 11.5.10 ?

    Helios,
    Thanks for the document.
I m looking for how to perform Pick confirm transactions for already printed Pick slips before WMS enabled flag is turn on for the org.
One option is to close all the deliveries  but if there is no on hand at that point the they will remain option.
Other option is to Back order those deliveries and re release them post wms enable flag is turned on... The only issue i see here is that if there are more new orders for one of the items  and the orders are released then which orders will get allocated/reserved if there is limited on hand quantity to statisfy the SO need.
Let me know if you can think off some alternative solution.
    Apprecite help !!

  • ERP Sales Order : Performance issues with Product Proposal

    Hi
we are working on CRM 2007 solution and are facing serious performance issues with the ERP Sales Order functionality provided in the ICWC of this version.
In our development we are adding items in the ERP cart as soon as the user clicks on the 'New Sales Order' button of the sales order sreen. We get the items by very simple and optimized call to the ERP system and then add these entities in the Item Cart (Item collection ...in simple sense).
For adding 10 items the application takes 10 seconds and this is too much for adding just 10 items.
Can you please provide any Notes/alternative solution to resolve this issue.

  • SAP Order-to-Cash

    Hi,
I want more about SAP Order-to-Cash and configuration steps.
Plz help out of this problem.
    Regards
    Shruthi

    Hi Shruthi,
Order to cash normally refers to the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) process in which taking customer sales orders via different sales channels, such as email, internet, sales person, fax or by some other means like EDI, and then fulfilling the order, shipping, logistic and then generating an invoice and collecting payment for that invoice and then receipt.
If we consider the entire flow, this can be further categorized into the following seven sub-processes:
    Customer presence
Order entry (creation of order/booking of order )
    Order fulfillment
    Distribution
    Invoicing
    Customer payments/collection
    Receipt
In SAP terms it happens as following.
A customer orders some items from your company by creating a sales order (Tcodes: VA01, VA02, VA03, Tables: VBAK, VBAP etc).
Your company decides to deliver the items ordered by the customer. This is recorded by creating a outbound delivery document (TCodes:VL01N, VL02N, VL03N, Tables: LIKP, LIPS etc).
Once the items are available for sending to the customer, you post goods issue which reduces your inventory and puts the delivery in transit. This will create a material document. You will post goods issue using VL02N but the material document created will be stored in tables MKPF, MSEG.
You will then create shipment document to actually ship the items. (Tcodes: VT01N, VT02N, VT03N, Tables: VTTK, VTTP etc).
You finally create a sales billing document. (TCodes: VF01, VF02, VF03, Tables: VBRK, VBRP etc). This will have a corresponding accounting document created that will be in BKPF, BSEG tables.
When customer pays to your invoice, it will directly hit your AR account in FI.
You will have to remember that these are not a required sequence. Some times, you may configure your system to create a SD invoice as soon as you create a sales order or you may not create a shipping document at all. This is the position where Functional Consultant would come into picture and study the company's order to cash process and configure the SAP system to do so.
Hope this helps you. Le t me know if you need specific information.

  • Production: "Opening Balance for outstanding work in process (work order)"

Hi, can anyone help me on how to input opening balance for outstanding work in process (work order) in SAP Business One?  Thanks.

    Hi Suda,
Yes, i have been discussing that issue with my friends and we have the same idea about using production order (the same as your idea). With your opinion, we are more confident to apply it.
Btw, do you have any sugestion if there are differences between legacy system WIP and SAP Business One WIP which is generated by production order (issue for production).
    Thank Suda.

    Hi,
Read Data warehousing books written by Ralph Kimball or Bill Inmon in order to familiarize yourself with the basic concepts of data warehousing. This is the foundation of the entire thing.
Follow the SAP training materials on BW Data Warehousing, BW Reporting and BW Modeling. There are several books that can help you a lot when getting started. check this link

  • Execution process of order by clause

What is the execution process of order by clause in sql statement and how it will effect query's performance.

    Siddharth Singh wrote:
What is the execution process of order by clause in sql statement Depends. First, do you mean "alrogithmically, how does Oracle produce ordered data"? There are a number of different approaches. The data may be ordered because you are fetching sequentially from an index. Or it may be explicitly materialized and sorted.
and how it will effect query's performance.Depends. It could have no impact because it relies on the index to order the data and the index is the most efficient access path regardless of the presence of an ORDER BY. Or it could require a tremendous amount of time to materialize and sort multiple GB of data.

  • Process of ordering stacks at commerce/shipping.asp

    Hello,
I have set up the e-commerce package and I tried to make an ordering of some products.
The process of ordering stacks at the shipping phase (this means that there is no button continue for steping to billing) with the following output:
"Freight rates are not available for this user.
Rates have not been defined for this order: the subtotal or weight of the order does not meet the cost structure of any defined rate."
I suspect that something must be configured in the database. Could you please describe me what?
    Thanks in advance.

  • What is target qty in process /production orders?

    Hi Experts,
I am doing a report that needs to display the quantity and costs (target / planned / actual) of each component in the process /production orders. Through tcode COR3 --> given a process order# --> Goto -- > Costs, I can see total target qty / total planned qty / total actual qty for each component. But I can only find planned qty and actual qty from tables COSS, COSP, RESB.  Where to get target qty ?
Can anybody explain to me what is exactly the target qty? Any tables to get target qty? Or any FM to get target qty?
    Thanks a lot.
    Yu

    Dear,
    Definition: target costs
    Product Cost Controlling (CO-PC)
The costs expected to be incurred when a specific quantity is produced.
In Cost Object Controlling, the target costs are calculated on the basis
of the planned values of a service unit (such as the planned cost of a
production order) and the control quantities (such as the yield
        delivered to stock).
Target costs can be used for purposes such as:
    o   To determine variances
o   To valuate work in process
    Total Target Costs
Total value of the target costs.
    Calculated with the following formula:
Total target costs = Target cost debit + Target cost credit.
    Use
Target costs are the planned costs adjusted to the actual operating
        rate.
The target debit on a manufacturing order is the sum of the
activity-independent planned debit of the order and the
activity-dependent planned debit of the order multiplied by the actual
        quantity of the order.
The target credit of a manufacturing order results from the goods
receipt postings to stock. The delivered actual quantity is valuated
with the planned price according to the price control.
The total value of the target costs is the sum of the target debit and
        the target credit.
The target costs are calculated during variance calculation and updated
        to the database.
The target costs cannot be shown until you have performed variance
calculation for this target cost version. The target credit for the
calculation of the total variances and production variances cannot be
calculated until an actual quantity for an order exists after a goods
        receipt posting.
For the calculation of variances, the target costs are compared with the
        control costs.
    Dependencies
The calculation of target costs depends on the selected target cost
        version.
