LTE Connectivitiy Issue

I have an iPhone 5 and am unable to connect to the LTE network.  My phone always says 3G now.  This had never been an issue until recently.  My fiance has the same phone and hers connects just fine.  I have checked all my settings and 4g is enabled.  Am I missing something somewhere or do I have a bigger issue?

    just want to say that this is a wonderful device.
    I am having issues with LTE intermittently connecting. I have to reset the phone to correct sometimes.
    Will there be a update that addresses this?

    To be honest. I have four identical 920's in my house. The other 3 people using them aren't heavy internet/data users. As soon as I used internet connection sharing (works perfectly by the way - also made sure WIFI stayed on with lock screen) my phone no longer connects to LTE as the preferred freq choice. The other phones have never done ICS and they are all constantly on LTE and never switch down. My set is constantly on 3G or 4G. If I travel, and the LTE connection is strong, then the phone does go there but typically not. I believe its a WP8 issue. Please fix because I'd like to appreciate the LTE speed that is offered here.

    After updating my iPhone 5S to 8.0.2, I can no longer connect my phone to LTE but my iPhone 6 plus is fine. Anyone having the same issue?

    There is no IOS 8.0.2 out yet. There is no patch for iPhone5s.

    8.0.2 is out.  But if it's true that 8.0.2 is only for iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus, WHY would it appear on devices that aren't 6 or 6 plus?  I have two 6 phones and the update went fine.  But the update also appeared on our iPad's, which I downloaded and that went fine as well.

  • IPad mini lte safari issues

    My iPad mini lte has an issue with safari. I cannot view any websites other than google through the search area. I tried closing, clearing cache, history and even reset. Nothing seem to work. Any help would be appreciated

    You said that you reset - do you mean that you held the sleep and home buttons down at the same time until the Apple logo appeared and that didn't work?
    Start all over again. Clear Safari, close the app completely and then reboot the iPad.
    Settings>Safari>Clear History, cookies and data.
    Tap the home button to go to the home screen, double tap the home button to bring up the recent apps at the bottom. Tap and hold down on the Safari icon until it wiggles. Tap the red minus sign on the icon to close it. Tap the home button.
    Reboot the iPad. Hold down on the sleep and home buttons until the Apple logo appears. Ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen.
    After the iPad fully restarts, try Safari again.

  • Lumia 928 LTE/WiFi issues

    I don't know if anyone else is having these problems, but it appears that my 928 only wants to connect to data over LTE unless I turn off the Data Connection in "Cellular" settings or I go into airplane mode with WiFi enabled. While this would be a terrible problem for me if I didn't have unlimited data, it still causes problems for me when my phone is receiving an LTE signal that isn't actually strong enough to transmit data on, but nonetheless shows up. At work, even though I am connected to WiFi all day, I usually don't get email updates because the LTE connection is not strong enough.
    Any idea if there will a patch issued? I seem to recall one of the early WP8 lumias having a similar problem, but don't remember which one it was.

    I have the exact same issue on my 928, WP 8.0.10327.77.  **bleep**!!
    It's really irritating to be sitting at home on the couch and to have to restart my phone if I want to use anything data related. It's even more embarassing to have to say to friends "hold on" while I restart my phone to look something up or check FB, whatever.    The alternative is to change the setting to "use cellular data instead of wifi for weak wifi connections," despite having perfect wifi strength.
    Other than this issue this phone is a gem.

    I found this interesting. I'm having problems with connection on my phone. I had a EVO Shift, no connection issus.

    These are indeed hardware limitations so flashing new software won't solve anything unfortunately. 
    There are different versions of the Z3+ intended for different markets (different bands). The Xperia Z3+ dual/E6533 supports the following bands:
    GSM GPRS/EDGE 850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz UMTS HSPA+ 850 (Band V), 900 (Band VIII), 1700 (Band IV), 1900 (Band II), 2100 (Band I) MHz TD-LTE (Band 38, 39, 40, 41) FDD-LTE (Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 17, 20)
    If your operator uses these bands there shouldn't be any issues.

  • LTE Connectivity issue

    I updated my iphone 6 to ioS 8.1 last night. and since then i have gone thru two stints where my phone will be unable to visit websites, send texts, use internet based apps.  Last night it fixed itself but im now approaching 3 hours where i cannot do anything that requires LTE despite being connected to it.  No wi fi in the area to connect to.  Anyone having similar issues?

    reset, no data loss. hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release.
    settings - general - reset - reset network settings.
    if both don't help, then you will need to contact your phone carrier as LTE - cellular data is a carrier feature.

  • IPhone 6 3G & LTE Connectivity issue

    We purchased an iPhone 6 the day they were released. My son said the 3G and LTE stopped working about 3 days after getting it. Wifi is still functional.  We have tried everything to reset the system and any little work-arounds we have seen. Nothing works. He installed IOS 8.0.2 and we were under the impression that would solve the problem.  Nope!  Any other ideas as to how to solve this?  I'm heading to my Bell store this week for further investigation but it would be great to solve it before then.

    It sounds like the cellular data on your sons iPhone 6 is not functioning properly even after you reset the phone and updated to iOS 8.0.2. I would recommend the troubleshooting in the following article to help resolve the issue with the phone:

    Toggle airplane mode: Tap Settings, turn airplane mode on, wait three seconds, and then turn off again.
    Restart your iPhone.

    Check for a Carrier Settings Update: Tap Settings > General > About.
    Check for an iOS Software Update: Tap Settings > General > Software Update.
    Some updates may require a Wi-Fi connection.

  • IPad 3 Verizon LTE sim issues

    I have an iPad 3 32gb Verizon LTE.  I use the data service Verizon provides on an as needed basis. I had activated the 4G LTE service on my account one month and did not need to use it the following month so I deactivted it.  When I went to reactivate the same iPad on Verizon LTE network a few weeks later the service could not be reactivated.  I spent 3 hours at a Verizon store and we kind of figured out that it had to do with turning on and off the 4G sim.  From what I was told the 4g sim only on Verizon does not like to be turned on and off.  They had to delete my profile associated with my iPad through Verizon database and let me recreate a new profile on my iPad.  They gave me a new sim card and it still did not work (this is after resetting network setting and reprovisioning the account) I ended up having to erase my iPad and then it worked. 
    Now a month later my company decided that they want to start paying for our data plans on our iPads.  So I cancelled the current 4G LTE personal plan and was issued a new 4G LTE sim card that was tied into our business account.  (I was the one who issued it as I am in IT)  Now my Verizon iPad will not reactivate with the new sim card provided by Verizon that is to be billed to my company.  It seems like the same thing is occuring that happened previously on my iPad..
    Anyone else having these issues of activating/disconnecting service with Verizon on the new iPad 3?
    I had an iPad 2 and never had these issues.  I could just cancel and reactivate my account at any time.
    Oh and Verizon hasnt been much help they are pretty **** clueless most of the time.

    I'll add some fule to this fire, with a similar if not exactly the same issue w/ getting Verizon pre-paid service on my new iPad.
    Background: I have a first generation iPad with At&t pre-paid month to month service, which works like a top...flawless. I am also stationed in Germany, and utilize this feature for our travels to the States, as it is very efficient and the iPad is lighter than a laptop. I can pay for a month and then turn it off upon return to Europe.
    This past March, I purchase a new IPad w/ a Verizon sim, as before we moved to Germany we had Verizon cell service, which we were quite happy with. So one would think that an iPad w/ a Verizon sim would work just as well, if not better, than the At&t iPad. Negative.
    I tried activating the new iPad cellular data in early May 12, only to receive an "Activation Error."  Three attempts later, and I call Verizon Tech Support for a remedy, and have all my info taken down with a reassurance that I will be called w/in 72 hours by their engineers to help resolve the issue. They are unable to issue me a trouble ticket, though, for my reference. four days later, I call again, explaining the situation, and there is seemingly no record of my information or situation. I again am assured of a call back w/ in 72 hrs from their engineers, and am informed that Verizon is having a few issues w/ the new iPad. 
    I decide to activate service on my "old" iPad, through At&t, and do so without issue. Hmmmm....
    I also go into a retail store to see if an in-the-flesh Verizon tech can help me out.  Long story short-nope, they could not (without charging me a $35 activation fee along w/ a 2 yr contract for the service.)  As this was unacceptable to me, I declined their offer and moved along. (At&t never charged me a $35 activation fee!)
    Three days later, I call Verizon again with similar results.  This tech now recommends that I take my new iPad, which I had sent to me from Apple via an online purchase in March 12, into an Apple Store as it was defective. After a lengthy conversation with the tech regarding this issue, I request to speak w/ her supervisor, as I have yet to have any return calls from "engineers" within 72 hrs and I am a long-term loyal Verizon customer. She places me on hold, and then the call is terminated. Amazing.
    We just today returned to Germany today, and never were able to utilize the cellular data function of our new iPad w/ the Verizon sim during our travels.  I was also unable to get any assistance from Verizon over the past 17 days to reslove the issue. Not even a call back.  Had I a choice to do it again, I'd stick w/ the At&t version of the new iPad as well. Verizon's services are simply unsat, and all the personnel I spoke w/ were clueless and unable to resolve  my iPad issue.

  • IPhone 6 plus LTE service issue

    My iPhone 6 Plus refuses to stay on LTE. I turn on airplane mode for about 30 seconds then turn it off and it jumps to LTE but then a couple minutes later right back to 3G. Is anyone else having this problem?

  • IPhone 5 / iOS 6.0.2 network issue

    I found the problem of my iPhone5+iOS6.0.2
    It is all about network.
    By SpeedTest.Net app, combinatons of wifi, lte, celluar data options on and off, I could get each individual speed and server connected. (My wifi = 18M, LTE = 7M, 4G/3G = 1.5M)
    When the normal usage with all 3 options ON, the data connection actually goes through the slowest of 4g/3g, instead of wifi.
    I disagree that the signal strength is the cause since all tests were done with a iPhone4+iOS5.1.1 at the same time; iPhone 4 connected wifi and worked well.
    All this reminds me the 'preferred connection' as network configuration, but I don't know how to set it on iOS.
    I am hoping this is not LTE chip issue...

    Yes it's normal if one phone is on 4G/LTE and the other is on 3G as the cell towers could be different, the frequencies definitely are different etc. which makes the signal strength vary.
    In my case the problem is that I have a 4S and a 5S on the same network on 3G. The 4S works fine, the 5S cannot get a decent signal. Looks like the 5S radio performance is sub-standard compared to the 4S.

  • My iPad3 loses LTE/3G once going wifi

    I have Bell's LTE plan (shared with my 4S). When I'm at home or school, i use wifi. Btw, LTE is weak throughout everywhere (1-2 bars everywhere) throughout GTA. Anyways, I then get a "No Service" on my iPad even at home where my iPhone 4S has full bars 3G. So I know I would have LTE AND 3G signal. I tried setting airplane mode and turning it back on, switching carrier to manual, turning wifi off, but it was still "No Service". I had to turn iPad off, and once it rebooted, wala! "Bell LTE" What is going on? Are others getting this Wifi/3G/LTE switching issues? Seems like once it loses celluar signal, it doesn't want to get it back even when there's no wifi available.

    I'm in Singapore, most of our new iPad here be it with Singtel, M1 & Starhub ISP 3G are suffering the same problem. So 3Gor 4G does no matter, all sharing same fate. We those who suffering believed it was new iPad radio hardware or at least it driver having problem.
    Maybe next iOS 5.2 can help to solved the problem, if Apple are monitoring & listening to many users & network operator feedbacks, worldwide. Just maybe.. If next iOS wouldn't solve this trouble, it's time for me and many others to move on to other system tablets, like Android system tablet for instance.

  • 2G (not 3G) internet not available when LTE feature button is available?

    I everyone!
    After iOS 6.1 (launched yesterday) 3G on/off switch button became LTE on/off switch button (only 6.1 turns LTE available for Europe networks, as you may know).
    This way I can only use 3G (if LTE switch button is off) or LTE (if it's on).
    No more 2G, as far as I can see.
    The problem is: 3G drains iPhone battery very fast (3G and battery issues are far known, since the beginning), LTE even worst. I have wifi at home and at work, therefore almost everywhere, but I want 2G on to ensure I can receive/send emails even when no wifi network available. For this kind of usage I do not need 3G or LTE. 2G is more than enough. If I need other kind of usage I'll turn 3G, or even LTE, on. This way I ensure all services important to me are available without fast drain of my phone battery.
    Disabling 2G switch is a step back considering that 3G and LTE battery issues, on my opinion.
    There is a way to use only 2G or am I missing something?

    Mainly I turned off push notifications and location services for most of the apps and turned off widgets (stocks, weather and facebook post widget).
    Also, I'll start to kill some background apps after use like voip, music and navigation apps (it's seems there is some kind of exception regarding resources they can use when in background - http://hints.macworld.com/article.php?story=20130124092557493)
    I usually do not kill any app since iOS is knew as one of the best OS managing background apps resources consumption. More, some recent OSs learn some of the iOS procedures to manage memory and other resources. But it seems there are exceptions, so I'll start to kill them.
    This is an additional effort I would like to avoid, but it seems I can't.
    btw, there is a way to have shell access to place some monitoring tasks on a NON jailbreaked iPhone?

    Got my Tablet Z on Saturday to replace a Toshiba Excite 10. Biggest reason for the Xperia Tablet Z was weight (finally Sony does a tablet Sony Style...) Biggest concern with the Xperia Tablet Z is heavily skinned Android and an expectation/fear that Sony will not support Android/follow the changes to it in a timely way. This is a premium priced tablet. Doesn't seem like too much to ask. My benchmark for supporting Android is my Galaxy Nexus... Maybe AOSP? Anyway, on to why I'm posting:

    Chrome bookmarks always opens to Mobile bookmarks / Sony--any way to change besides deleting Sony folder?
    Email delete always confirms--any way to turn off?
    Backup & restore says it can backup to the cloud--really? how?
    had to disable the shipped Calendar app and install Google Calendar to get latest Calendar features--so sad...
    using Smart Connect View event as shipped: it starts SensMe when dropped in the cradle; but when I remove tablet from cradle, TuneIn Radio is current running app--why??!?
    any way to soft reset it? what's the thing that looks like a switch between the USB port and the serial number barcodes?
    Bonus:
    (probably rhetorical) I've read about a "timely" update to 4.2--4.2 has been out for almost nine months, wouldn't "timely" have been at first ship?
    white paper for devs lists "eCompass" app but can't find...--what is eCompass?

    you mean the bookmarks? or the homepage? you can change your homepage by going to browser>settings>general.

    - what email client are you using? try going to the settings and see if there are options to change, and be aware that if sync is active and you deleted an email on your computer, it would also delete it on the phone.

    try to see the settings on the app, you can remove or disable the the app from firing up when removed from the dock.

    the tablet was designed and made 9 months before the release of 4.2, so i guess they stick to 4.1 than to change everything at last moments. sony has been struggling with "timely" updates,

    4. Crystal Report is binding is done using Business View Manager (since having more than one databases)

    This error is specific to RAS. The default CORBA request timeout is 10 minute = 600000 ms. When the RAS SDK does not get the reponse back from RAS server in 600000 ms it throws this message. Why it works in InfoView\CMC what I believe you refer to as "Front End' application is because InfoView\ CMC don't use RAS.
    1. First make sure that a smaller report wich runs pretty fast ( 1-2 min) works. This will confirm that there is no connectivitiy issues between RAS and RAS SDK.
    2. If you get the efrror for every single report, even the smaller ones, make sure the box running RAS and RAS SDK code( in case they are 2 different) can ping each other with IP, shortname and FQDN. If there is a firewall between them, the RAS port needs to be opened for bidirectional communication. By default RAS chooses a random port for communication with SDK but within CMC you can configure it to use a specific port and open it.
    3. If the issue is specific only to reports that are long running, typically more than 10 minutes, then you need to inclease the CORBA timeout to a value more than what the reports typically would take to process. This is done on client code side or IIS in this case.
    Here are the steps:
    Make the following changes on the application server/system.
    Open RegEdit by going to Start > Run and typing in regedit.exe. Then click Ok.
    Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 11.5\Report Application Server\Client SDK\CorbaAdapter
    Change the value of SendRequestTimeout(ms) to 100000.
    Change the value of WaitReplyTimeout(ms) to 6,000,000 ms. The default value is 600,000 ms and may not be long enough.
    Restart IIS by going to Start > Run and typing in iisreset. Then click Ok.
