Lumia 520 SMS disappeared!!!!

i bought nokia lumia 520 for about 1 month. the text messages disappear automatically！！！
right now, the only text message is the acknowledgement message from the mobile operator saying i've delivered the message. that's the only message that can exist in my phone for more than one day. other text messages i sent yesterday, the day before yesterday or even earlier all disappeared!!! i didn't delete them but they just disappeared into nowhere!!!
i already asked my carrier. the representative also uses the same carrier but with an android phone. he said his messages stayed as long as he wanted.
i checked all discussion board both in nokia and microsoft. so far nothing really talks about my situation....

    If I do the following steps: Messaging > + >To + > Select contact > I see all numbers listed for the contact.
    If I do instead: People > Contact > SMS, the number entered as "mobile" is selected by default. If you want to change it to "mobile2", you need to go: ... > switch number and select from there.

    I have updated my Lumia 520 with the amber update but I couldn't find the call + sms filter app any where in the phone[checked in settings].... please help me to find it..i got radio,data sense etc...with the update

    Hi, just bought a nokia lumia 520, But i have just realised after an hour my SMS / MMS messages in my recieved conversations / threads area are automatically getting deleted or going missing, I am not deleting them they are going missing or getting delete automatically after around an hour? how can i stop this???

  • Amber update is not working in my lumia 520

       i have installed new update in my lumia 520 .it installed fully and successfully but i cannot find of new features in my phone !!?? features like call+sms filter ,radio and so on.., how can i solve this problem. 

    Perhaps a more helpful answer is to install "Lumia System Updater". That app will allow you to check and update all the system apps on your phone (such as "extras+info", "about" etc.) that are required for the Amber/GDR2 update to be "seen".

  • Mobile network problem in my lumia 520

    Once network gone, I have to Restart it then again mobile network come.calling proble occurs many times even network is dispayed. Network problem sshould be rectify.

    Do you experience the network issue regardless of your area? Aside from calling, are the other network services working fine like SMS messaging and mobile data connection? Is this for a Lumia 520 as well? If so, I hope you're using a standard microSIM and not a cut one as this is what the phone is designed to use.
    BTW, the reset that the Nokia Care Center recommended is the one under Settings > about, is that right? After the reset, have you checked if the system apps are updated? Go to Settings > swipe to applications > store > check for updates. 
    Let us know how it will go.

    I cannot get the find my Phone functionality working consistently on my Nokia Lumia 520.
    I have a data and Wifi connection.
    I am not in airplane mode.
    I have SMS functionality.
    Location Services are On.
    Services/Find my Phone is Off. When I slide the option to On, it remains off when I go back into settings!
    Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

    I'm interested in purchasing a Lumia 520 and read on the spec site that it can do "Remote wipe of user data via Internet" (http://www.nokia.com/in-en/phones/phone/lumia-520/specifications/).
    Is there any special software that I need to be able to do this (like have it connected to a BlackBerry server in the case of enterprise BlackBerry devices) or is it as simple as stated on (http://www.noknok.tv/2013/05/02/how-to-find-your-lost-nokia-lumia-running-windows-phone-8/) where all you have to do is log into windowsphone.com where you can erase a linked phone?
    This phone will be used for business so in case it is lost I need the ability te remote wipe it. Our company currently has a BB server and we all have BB devices, but with BB not doing so well I was thinking of getting a Nokia.

    If there's no data connection, windowsphone.com cannot access your phone to send push notifications and if push notifications fail, then it will try to send SMS to your phone.
    I just tried to ring my phone after taking out the SIM card, it was connected to wi-fi and I could ring it.

  • Another Lumia 520 user without an equalizer

    I have installed the latest updates and now get the equalizer that flashes for the blink of an eye then disappears. If memory serves, the owners manual said that the lumia 520 would give me equalizer settings when the headphone jack was in use. Just my two cents but seems like this should be a simple matter, please fix this.

    With regards to your concern about the equalizer of your Nokia Lumia 520, this feature is not available or supported on your device.
    In case your phone received an update for the audio equalizer which is the audio app version 2.1.1.1 (released March 2014), it only shows briefly the equalizer menu when starting the app but this doesn't mean that the equalizer support is included in your phone model. You may have noticed that the equalizer menu is shown for a short moment after which it disappears and the correct audio menu for Lumia 520 is shown. This is a normal behavior and there's no fault in the phone.

  • Nokia Lumia 520 screen cracked

    I love my Nokia Lumia 520 but very disappointed with the thin glass on the screen. I fell over on the path and had my phone in my hand therefore when I fell over the phone screen cracked and now the touch will not work but the LCD is fine, the screen still lights up. I'm on waiting for a new screen so I can replace it myself but like I said seriously disappointed! I got this phone in June for my birthday and then one mistake it just cracked.

    Hi, josphatchoge13. To verify, those issues occured right after receiving your phone from the Nokia Care Point, is that correct? If so, did you try informing the technicians about it? By the way, are you also having issues with your SMS, MMS, mobile data connection, and voicemail? About not playing any sound, this happens regardless of what task you're doing on the phone which requires sound, right? If you have tried any troubleshooting steps, can you tell us what are they?   • New Lumia 520 won't even Start!!!!

    Hi All,
    My roommate just received a Nokia Lumia 520 which he ordered online a couple of days ago.
    The thing is, the phone won't even boot up. The Nokia logo appears, stays, disappears for a few seconds and then gets back on again. 
    This has been going on for about 2.5 hours, which seems excessively long. We have tried the reset key-combo (Vol down + Lock), but I don't think there is anything to reset in this phone. My laptop was unable to install the driver for the device, reporting that the device was disconneted in between - my guess is its turning on and off again and again. 
    He called up the Nokia Care Hotline,and they said that the phone may take about 30-40 minutes to boot up the first time, but I think he was over-estimating, considering it took nowhere near as long for my Lumia 510 to boot up the first time. 
    Tough luck for the guy, but do you guys think there is something we can try to do for ourselves or do we have to get a replacement or something?

    OK... final bit of info for Paul and Rayhipkiss.
    While we are certain that this phone has a firmware defect, the Combo that Ray suggested is using an extra key. The actual key combo for restart the phone is Volume Down + Power.
    In order to reset the phone, which I did try on this particular one, you need to bring it into Reset mode. This is done using the Volume Down key on the rocker. When successful, you see an exclamation mark. Now, you press the following keys in the mentioned sequence:
    Vol Up + Vol Down + Power Key + Vol Down.  
    As the phone resets (Phone purges to Factory settings), two gears appear on the screen, rotating. 
    When done, the phone should have reset itself to normal. Unfortunately for this phone, SN=AFU.

    Hello, I've just bought a Nokia Lumia 520 and need some help with texting.
    I sent a message to all my old contacts giving them my new number.
    I sent the text to 25 people but only 2 acknowledged it. My mother was included and she was in the room and did not recieve it.
    Is there any chance it has not sent to everyone? How do I correct this?

    Did you have enough balance? Also check Sms calling center number in settings under messages.
    It takes time when you send sms in bulk, sometimes it fails. Try sending it in lesser numbers like 5 or
    10. If it fails its most likely to be service providers problem.

    I also need to send group msg to about 100 people which was possible in Symbian, but in Lumia group limit is 25 (how ridiculous!)
    Now I have made several groups of 25 & send few mgs.
    But what I don't like is, group sms are shown in different thread, so when someone replies, his thread doesn't show the group msg so I can't make out to which msg I am getting reply.
    Earlier Symbian used to send group msg as individual sms so replies used to show all sms, sent & received. Symbian system was better for me.
    Using Nokia Lumia 1320.
    Also have Nokia E72 & Nokia N8.

  • Lumia 520 Cannot send or receive pictures

    I am able to access the internet but cannot send or receive pictures on my Lumia 520. My phone provider has done a lot of work on this and is sure the phone settings are correct and it is not a network probem. The phone has the current update. Any ideas?

    I had the same problem with a feature. It showed share instead of update and I knew there was an update out there. 
    I turned my phone all the way off, let it sit for a minute of so and turned it back on. The update then showed up with the updater.
