Lync 2013 doesn't change status to be "In Meeting" when we have meeting based on Calendar in Outloook

Hi Sir,
My company use MS. Lync 2013. All PCs are set as default to "Update my presence
based on my calendar information". So most of them whenever they have meeting based on calendar in Outlook, the Lync status will be changed to be "In Meeting" BUT I found just 2-3 computers not change to be "In Meeting". It still keeps
showing as "Available". Could you please advise the solution ?
PS. I already tried to uninstall and re-install but the problem still same.

Hi,
Please check the value of CalendarStatePublicationInterval, it will control the time of Lync waiting before retrieving calendar information from Microsoft Outlook and adding this data to your presence information.
For example, to set the CalendarStatePublicationInterval to 10 minutes (600 seconds) use this syntax:
CalendarStatePublicationInterval 600

    Anyone have suggestions on how I can go about it?

    What is this "box"?  What is this "folder" you're asking about?  You'll likely get a better answer if you use standard terminology.

  • Lync 2013 Logon Failing (HTTP status code 500) No valid security token

    Hello there,
    I'm in the process of deploying Lync 2013.  I have the pool deployed and everything is at least running.  I can access the control panel and provision users.  However when I try to logon to the Lync Client I get a DNS error.  The DNS
    error appears to be misleading and is a result of the earlier auto-detection methods failing.
    However using the Lync Connectivity Analyzer I get a "No valid security token." error.  This doesnt matter if I use auto-detection or manual pointing the Connectivity Analyzer to the pool servers.

    Im a bit stumped where to go next.
    Thanks.

    Manually entering the server also fails and does not provide much to help "We're having trouble connecting to the server. If this continues, please contact your support team."
    I found that each time I try to logon it generates a Schannel Error on the server.  "A fatal alert was generated and sent to the remote endpoint. This may result in termination of the connection. The TLS protocol defined fatal error code is 51.
    The Windows SChannel error state is 1106."
    There seems to be a lot more information on that than the previous "Internal Error" message I was trying to deal with.

    Actually I just found the Lync Server Front-End is stuck "starting" so that would explain why I cannot login.  However I re-issued my certificate to make sure the primary CN matched "lync.domain.tld" and it still wont start.
    https://expertslab.wordpress.com/2014/04/23/lync-server-2013-front-end-service-stuck-on-starting/
    I think my problem is the certificate.  I have been trying to use selfSSL7 to generate the certificate for testing but it does not support creating SAN entries so I have entered all the FQDNs as CN entries.
    Im going to get another method to generate the self-signed certificate for testing.

  • Getting Changed [Status] rows between multiple rows in SQL Server 2012 based on MonthYear Field

    I am trying create Stored Proc which takes 2 inputs from user  @PreviousMonthYear,@CurrentMonthYear
    Below is my table schema.[TableIPPortStatus]
    Such 1000's of rows will be available in TableIPPortStatus for every IP Port combination for every Scan. Stored Proc will take input as @PreviousMonthYear = 'Jan-2013' and @CurrentMonthYear = 'Feb-2013'
    Expected stored proc o/p is to get changed status in @CurrentMonthYear rows compared with the same IP/Port combination from @PreviousMonthYear rows. so for for above e.g. expecting to get below result.
    Since in Scan 2222 Port 80 of IP 1.0.0.0 got closed & Port 80 of IP 1.0.0.1 got open and for 1.0.0.2 status was unchanged.
    Also, if any new IPPort combination is added in Feb-2013 that needs to make available in the output.
    Please suggest way to accomplish this in SQL. Thanks in Advance!

    DId you try this? ACtually you dont even need prevmonthyear parameter. you can simply get result using single parameter
    If its sql 2012 this is very easy
    DECLARE @CurrentMonthYear varchar(30)
    SET @CurrentMonthYear = 'Feb-2013'
    SELECT ScanId,MonthYear,IP,Port,Status
    FROM
    SELECT *,
    LAG(Status,1,'') OVER (PARTITION BY IP,Port ORDER BY CAST('01-' + MonthYear AS datetime)) AS PrevStatus
    FROM Table
    )t
    WHERE PrevStatus <> Status
    And if its sql 2008 or below
    DECLARE @CurrentMonthYear varchar(30)
    SET @CurrentMonthYear = 'Feb-2013'
    ;With CTE
    AS
    SELECT *,
    ROW_NUMBER() OVER (PARTITION BY IP,Port ORDER BY CAST('01-' + MonthYear AS datetime)) AS Seq
    FROM Table
    WHERE MonthYear = @CurrentMonthYear
    )t
    SELECT c1.*
    FROM CTE c1
    LEFT JOIN CTE c2
    ON c2.IP = c1.IP
    AND c2.Port = c1.Port
    AND c2.Seq = c1.Seq - 1
    WHERE c2.Status <> c1.Status

    I'm Italian, and i'm sorry for my english.
    By the way, this is my problem:

    self.viewController = vController;
    //Rilascia il controller della vista
    [vController release];
    //Aggiunge la vista como sottovista della finestra
    //Qui chiediamo al controller della vista di prendere la sua vista e aggiungerla come sottovista alla finestra
    //[window addSubview:[viewController view]];
    UIScrollView * scroll = [[UIScrollView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 20, 320, 460)];

  • Lync 2013 doesn't start on Windows 8.

    Hi.
    I'm currently making a review on a new desktop with Win8 in order to decide if we upgrade the OS from Win7 for all users in the company or not.
    Lync is running fine on every other pc, but I can't make it start on this one, when I try to sign in it shows this message (tranlated from spanish):
    It is not possible to sign in on Lync
    "there was a problem at checking the server certificate"
    (I`ve tried attach a screen-shot but this message pops: Body text cannot contain images or links until we are able to verify your account.)
    I've already checked the network configurations and everything is ok. Tried installing again from CD and from appstore and nothing Works.

    Hi,
    Glad to hear that you have solved the issue.
    If you meet Certificate Authentication problem with Lync client in the further you can also refer to the link below:

    Hi,
    I already have a subscription in my iTunes Store (México), but I need to change the region/country because my company has sent to me to Dominican Republic for a new position in my job. My problem is that I have too a subscription for the iTunes Match service, and when I try to change my region/country in the settings page I cannot complete the process. It appears a message like this "In order to make the change of region first you must cancel the sucripción to the service"
    What can I do?, thank you very much.

    Video driver in the image was originally out of date, changed the driver to the latest and greatest available straight from Intel for the Intel HD 3000 graphics card and this error still appears.  Driver 9.17.10.3517 exceeds the minimum requirement
    for Lync 2013.  The faulting module is related to the graphics driver, but reinstalling does nothing, uninstalling and then reinstalling does nothing, it cannot further be upgraded.  This same error affects all the Dell latitude e6520's.  It
    also only occurs in Windows 8.1.  The windows 7 image using the exact same driver version (both the outdated driver and latest driver) works just fine with Lync 2013.
    Running Lync with administrative permissions does nothing, disabling hardware acceleration did nothing.  None of our laptops come with the bluetooth adapter, and also updated all other drivers such as chipset and soundcard.  Error occurs on the
    RTM version of Lync, and Lync with SP1 fully updated.  The rest of Office 2013 works fine.  I am currently at a loss here short of telling the help desk to not image E6520's with Windows 8.1 because Lync 2013 doesn't work on it.  But there has
    to be a reason for it.  Calling out for some suggestions here.
    Thanks!

    We also have the same issue with Dell E6420 running Windows 8.1. Lync application does not respond after start-up. Did you try looking for the error file under
    C:\users\username\appdata\local\Microsoft\Windows\WER\Reportarchive
    it should create file like AppHang_lync.exe_some numbers. search for the latest one.
    Interesting, I don't have any 6420's handy but figured the issue would exist on those also.  I looked up the location you mention and see many crash logs for Lync.  Not really sure what the error is, just says it stopped working.

  • Lync 2013 do not show own photo

    We have Lync 2013 and Exchange 2010. I imported photos to our AD. In Outlook 2010 we can see our own photo, but Lync 2013 client do not display user own photo, but when user1
    write a message to user2, user2 receive message with user1 photo. This is  a global problem, not for one user.
    Can you help me in this case, because I didn't find any useful information?

    Ben, thank you for quick response.
    Our client policy:
    Identity
                              DisplayPhoto
    Global
                                   AllPhotos
    I imported only 96x96 pixels size photo. I also tried to import photo manually, but it not make any change in this problem.
    Import-RecipientDataProperty -Identity "Name Lastname" -Picture -FileData ([Byte[]]$(Get-Content -Path "C:\user.jpg" -Encoding Byte -ReadCount 0))
    If Lync 2013 user type his name in Lync search field and open his contact in Lync 2013 client, he able to see
    his photo, company name, phone numbers and etc...
    Lync 2013 clients and server have installed latest updates.

  • Lync 2013- HTML pasted in Lync 2010 client not showing

    After the last round of Office 2013 updates I get blanks whenever one of my Lync 2010 coworkers pastes a number from a web page into their 2010 client window. I am using Lync 2013 v 15.0.4517.1005 32 bit. Thank you

    I have the issue mentioned in this post where I can't view html content that another person pastes into a message they send me and also can't paste content from certain web pages into Lync directly and have to paste to a text editor and copy it there before
    pasting into lync.
    I noticed that if someone sends me content pasted from a web browser that I may see an empty box on my end rather than the content though in the history when viewing the conversation in outlook I see the actual text there.
    For the issue with pasting, I found that the following html page when opened in Firefox 23.0.1 will reproduce the issue:
    ---------------- html page markup -------------------------------------
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3c.org/TR/1999/REC-html401-19991224/loose.dtd">

                </div>
            </div>
        </form>
    </body>
    </html>
    Steps to reproduce:
    Open the attached html file in Firefox
    Press CTRL + A to select all
    Press CTRL + C to copy
    Past into a message window
    Results:
    Nothing will be visible when pasting.
    Expected Results:
    "Text to copy" should be pasted into the message window.
    This is reproduced using Microsoft Lync 2013 version 15.0.4517.1504 on Windows 8.
    Note that this page doesn't reproduce the issue when following these steps in Internet Explorer 10 though I have seen the behavior when copying from an internal web application.

  • Lync 2013 Web Scheduler SMTP Server for invitations - non-exchange env

    We cannot get the Lync 2013 Web Scheduler to send email invites to anyone even after configuring the SMTP server for both the external and internal sites on our one and only front-end (we did the super simple same box install for testing
    purposes).  Yes we have done an IISReset;)  Has the SMTP server configuration process for the now built-in Lync 2013 Web Scheduler changed since the add-on Lync 2010 Web Scheduler?
    BTW, unless we haven't search for the right phrase(s), it seems there is ZERO documentation about configuring this for 2013 - only for 2010.
    HELP!!!

    Hi,
    You can refer to this blog Lync web scheduler without Exchange:

  • Lync 2013 and problem with copy/paste from SQL Mgmt Studio.

    Hi Everyone,
    Recently one of ours programmers noticed a very interesting issue which is a real pain in the a## for him and his colleagues. It was all fine with Lync client 2010, problem started when moved some people to 2013 client.
    When someone sends him a message with SQL Code, and he is pasting it into SQL mgmt std. he gets dashes "-" instead of spaces " ".
    I thought this is a local PC issue, but:
    1. On 2010 it worked, stopped all of a sudden when they changed lync client to 2013
    2. They are pasting code on the SERVER not local SQL mgmt std. on their client machines
    3. Even if I send him a code from Lync 2010 and he is pasting that from his 2013 client - he gets "-" dashes, so I guess it is not important from where I send the message, but from where he is copying it.
    As for now, I have noticed that problem with guys from England and region of APAC - they have lync 2013 client already.
    Really appreciate any help as I donot have any point where to start troubleshooting...
    Cheers guys,

    Hi,
    I test the issue with my colleague and didn't find the same issue.
    Here is the screenshot:
    So please check if Lync Server 2013 and all the issued Lync 2013 client update to the latest version firstly, it not update to the latest version, update it and then test again.

  • How can I get Lync 2013 to "remember" the size of my conversation window

    Each time I open a Lync conversation, the window size always reverts to a default that is too small.  With Lync 2010, a new conversation remembered the size of the window from a previous conversation.  How can I get Lync 2013 to remember the
    size from a previous conversation?  I have a multi-monitor setup and would also like for Lync to remember the location of the last conversation window.  Lync 2010 remembered both the size and location.  I have Lync 2013 and Windows 7.

    I believe what you're seeing is expected behaviour. The Lync 2013 client appears to remember the position of the conversation window relative to the Lync client itself. It seems like it is noting it's screen co-ordinates based on the clients location. This
    works fine for single monitor, but ultimately means that a conversation window cannot remember it' location if it is on a different screen to the Lync client itself.
    Regarding the window size - I believe this has come up before and is not something you can change either natively in Lync, or through registry manipulation.
    Kind regards
    Ben

    I'm running Windows 8 64-bit, but Office 32-bit for compatibility reasons. Office 2010 and Lync 2010 worked beautifully. Other Office 2013 applications work fine. Lync 2010 client works fine as well. Only see this problem with Lync 2013.
    Any ideas how to troubleshoot or correct?

    Hi,
    Have you tried to remove Lync 2010 client and test it again?
    How about the other machines? Please also log on the problem machine with another account and test it.
    Please try to disable any local antivirus software to see if that fixes the issue.
    Please remove Silverlight and reinstall it:

  • Lync 2013 Clients prompting repeatedly for credentials for calendar data from outlook

    Our Exchange server had crashed recently (nothing major) and a reboot of the CAS server resolved the issues. However since then all our domain computers with Lync 2013 clients are prompting for credentials for calendar data from outlook. We would but in
    our domain credentials but it still asks. It would sometime ask once a day or sometimes repeatedly throughout the day.
    I have look on the forums and tried fixes that included: editing IIS Autodiscover and ESW to use NTLM first , rebuilt lyncs cache in app data etc and none seems to resolve the issue. Any help would be appreciated.
    Note: Our Lync 2013 environment is internal only. Only users on domain computers can access the service. We do use a proxy server here for internet but I do not believe Lync is going through the proxy since its internal to our network only. This is NOT happing
    to our users with the Lync 2010 client.

    Please update your Lync client with the latest version.
