Mac App Store Apple ID review problem

I want to use Mac App Store, but when I review my account, even though I enter the correct credit card number, it says invalid credit card number for New Zealand. Can someone please help me out. Thanks

It seems to be a global problem, so it's not just you.

I'm sure it will be fixed soon.

Try restarting your Mac then try the App Store.
If that doesn't help, quit the App Store.
Now open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Finder > Go > Go to Folder
    Type or copy/paste:   ~/Library/Cookies
Click Go then move the com.apple.appstore.plist file from the Cookies folder to the Trash.
    Try the App Store.

  • HT1338 What about open source, etc. apps?  Integration of Software Update into App Store, Apple registration a problem?

A review in the Seattle Times recently indicated that in Mountain Lion all apps would have to be registered with Apple.  I use lots of 3rd party apps, many open source, that are unlikely to be willing to pay Apple to register.  I've been anxious about upgrading to Mountain Lion for this reason.
The description in the Mountain Lion promo suggests to me that my concern may be inappropriate.  It looks like they've basically migrated Software Update into the App Store.  For most of the 3rd party stuff, Software Update is irrelevant.  As long as I can manage my 3rd party apps as I have traditionally done (some I never update, others notify me of needed updates when I use them - they check themselves), I don't mind if Apple has repositioned its automated update service for more mainstream apps including its own.
Have I got this right, or should I be concerned about support for 3rd party apps and their maintenance?

    You are right. No concern.

  • App's Will Not Update in Mac App Store

I'm going try to make this a clear as I can. This problem only occurs when try to update App's in the "Mac App Store only " and not in the iTunes Music Store. And it only is happen in one users account.  Every time I try to update apps in the Mac Apps store under the Update Menu. This is what happens.
I t will show you that you have and App ready for update.
    1) I press the button to update.
    2) It will ask me for my AppleID/Password
    3) After entry my Apple ID Info: Here where I have the problem starts. The update will not download and all I get is the clock of spin.  It just spins  and spins.  No draw timebar and no download.
I've remove the following in the (user/library) the following files and it dose not solve the problem.
    user/Library/Prferences/com.apple.appstore.plist
    user/Library/Prferences/com.apple.storeagent.plist
    user/Library/Cookies/com.apple.appstore.plist
This is only happen in one my one user account. If I go to my backup account I can download Mac App Store Update with no problems. This only stated after updating  to Lion.
Help and other ideals or fixs in the the users/library that I should be looking at?

  • New Pricing on Mac App Store

My apologies if this is a bad place to put this, but yesterday the Mac App Store opened up with APerture 3 pricing set at $79.99. I just purchased Aperture about 1-2 weeks ago for $165. OUCH. Apple ... any relief on this for us groveling types?
"In its just-launched Mac App Store, Apple has priced a new license of Aperture 3 at US$79.99, or about US$119 less than when the same software is purchased through both online and brick-and-mortar Apple Stores in the U.S."

Hi Letynx, its good you got some money back. I purchased Apeture on 19th November from the Regent Street store in London and today I found about the price on Mac Store. I really am outraged about this as I use the product for personal use and to see the price drop so significantly in the app store version I feel genuinely ripped off. I could understand if the product was brand new and this was the initial price drop but Aperture 3 has been around for a while.
    *What Ive done so far..*
    1. I contacted customer services by phone who werent aware of the price on the app store. Off the record the guy who took the call said if the price has dropped as much as I was saying then he said they were going to get a lot of calls on this. After checking the price himself he talked to apple care team and they said they couldnt do anything as I had purchased it from the store. They gave me the store number and said contact them.
    2. Called the store and they said they could do nothing and I had to log it on the www.apple.com/feedback site under Aperture. The lady I spoke to was confident I would get a response and that I should go through the feedback route.
    3. Earlier today I logged a call www.apple.com/feedback and so far no response.
I will wait till Tuesday to see if I get anything and I know Im not alone with this issue and I urge people in the same situation to log on here and go through the feedback route and hope apple will listen.
*I really feel I have been cheated out of hard earned cash here !* Really would like to hear from other UK users in the same position.

  • IMPACT ON MAC APP STORE PURCHASES BY CHANGING COUNTRY

I bought Mac App Store apps in the Netherlands, however I moved to Spain, made my Apple ID to be associated to the Spanish App Store and the apps do not appear there as purchased. The apps are still on my SSD. So if not solved I cannot get updates ...or  get them on another Mac without repurchasing. Some of them are expensive.
    Thanks,
    Peter

    Good morning Dahveed,
I confirm, the Mac App Store-apple ID and iOS account-apple ID are the same, now both in Spain. As the Mac App Store apps seem to be on Apple's servers, it should be possible to install them again even if I bought them in a different store (in NL). Maybe in the future with iCloud functionality ? It would be especially important if I would buy a new Mac. But then a copy of the app from my present Mac to the new Mac could do the job I guess.
    In any case, best regards,
    Peter

Use Internet Recovery. You shouldn't need an AppleID. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4718
Internet Recovery will install the OS that shipped with the Mac. You can then upgrade to Mavericks if that was not it.
Do you have an App Store account? Did you ever use it to install the OS?

  • Unable to review apps ("to review this app, you must have purchased it from the Mac app store)

I've been having this problem since getting my iMac, about 6-8 months ago.
I can review apps for about 3-4 hours after buying them; sometimes for up to 12 hours.
Then it's as if I cross a magic, invisible, and powerfully frustrating barrier - whenever I try to review an app, I get a message saying 'to review this app, you must have purchased it from the Mac App Store.'
In many ways, the App Store is clearly aware that I HAVE purchased it from the Mac App Store. The button at the top of the screen - the one that would usually say 'purchase' - says 'installed.' I can DL updates. I can, for the first sprinkling of hours, provide (and edit) reviews. However, after this mysterious cutoff, the one thing I can't do is leave a review...
Mac App Store support have been well-intentioned, but utterly hopeless.
They started by suggesting I had an 'iTunes error -50', and that I delete / renew my network settings (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1811). I didn't have an iTunes error -50, and the fix didn't work.
They then suggested that I change my iTunes ID so that it was associated with a new email account. OK, right. Done that. Still no joy.
They then suggested that I sign out with my iTunes ID, and then sign back in again. Something which I'd already tried repeatedly, with no joy. (I've also tried deauthorising and reauthorising my computer - again with no joy).
    Any other thoughts greatly appreciated...

    Try this....
In App Store, go to Purchases (top menu). Find the app you want to review, make sure it is marked Installed. Then click on the app from that window. Now try to write a review. This worked for me, but it could also be something I ate.

  • Mac app store does not accept my apple password

The Mac App store does not accept my password for my apple ID. A red line appears that says "an unknown error has occured." The ID and Password are being typed in correctly, I am 100% sure of that. Credit card is up to date. Itunes is working fine and logged in to Apple ID. Ipad and Iphone are logged in, working fine. Have not installed Maverick, still using Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5.  I was going to update to Mavrick, but not sure I should with all the negative reviews and now this problem. Please help, thanks!

It's been reported that Apple's servers are having problems tonight. Just try again later.

  • Apple ID & Mac App Store

I just got my mac. I try to login to the Mac App Store, and I am told that my Apple ID hasn't been used yet with the iTunes Store. It says, "Please review your account information."
So, I go and adjust the necessary settings in my account information, and after I get to the billing part, I select PayPal and go through the steps there and sign the online agreement between PayPal and iTunes. However, then a new window opens and it tells me to wait, but I'm never able to finish reviewing my account information or whatever comes after.
I need to figure out how to get my Apple ID to work with the Mac App Store, but I'm in that imbroglio. Help would be splendid.

Hi! I gave this a shot, but I'm still having the same problem. Also tried logging in and out again, and double checked in my system preference --> App Store to see if I was still signed in under my Apple ID.
