Mac os10.9 and updated after effect cc 12.0.1 still have problem

After Effects warning: Could not rename the file '/Users/xxxx/Library/Preferences/Adobe/After Effects/12.0/Workspaces.1121.1407353248120481.xml' to 'Workspaces.xml'.

Mac OS has set the permissions for the preferences folder incorrectly. Set the permissions for the entire preferences folder (the 12.0 folder) to be writable.
This happens a lot with Mac OS upgrades, as opposed to fresh installations of the new OS.

If you're on Mavericks, boot and hold down the Command and R keys. That should bring up the recovery partition. From there you can reinstall. It sounds like you're not exactly sure what you did, so a clean install might be your best option. To do that, run Disk Utility from the recovery partition and reformat the drive then exit Disk Utility and reinstall. Be careful to back up all your stuff first. If it were me I'd make an image of the existing drive with Carbon Copy Cloner and selectively bring stuff back after fixing the system.
I'd get all this resolved before adding an SSD into the mix. That's relatively easy but you have kind of a mess right now. Usually an SSD is a smooth installation but there are sometimes problems with internal SATA cables and you don't want to be troubleshooting multiple issues at once.

Black magic and Adobe After effect cs6 Ram Preview not real time

I'm on a MAC PRO with the OS 10.6.8 and 8Go Ram, the problem is when i turn on my preview video on the Blackmagic the video monitor is not in real time and the after effect is so slow. When i put it off (computer monitor only) it's ok but i havn't my video monitor of course....and i need it. Is there some tricks for having my black magic (1080 i 50) ON and a RAM Preview in real time ??? ! My drivers Black magic is the 9.5.3 it's the highest driver for MAC OS 10.6.8 + ADOBE CS6+ FCP7. Thanks for the read. ( i tried update adobe, change qt library, change aspect ratio, pixel, preview ram settings, change drivers black magic and other but nothing work )

What is the color bit depth of your project? (8, 16 or 32?) Have you changed that recently, or have you changed the frame rate or frame size of your comp?
Performance with video preview to an external monitor is almost always related to the pure bandwidth requirements of the frames you're sending to it. If the frames require more memory, it may be slower. Frame size, frame rate, and color bit depth all affect the memory requirements of the frames.
If none of those parameters has changed, troubleshoot the general performance of your machine. If there are other processes (look in Activity Monitor) that are using significant processor and/or memory resources, they may be causing a bottleneck for the frames getting out.

I have a problem updating After Effects CC.
The system show me
"You can’t use this version of the application “Adobe After Effects CC” with this version of OS X
You have “Adobe After Effects CC” 12.0"
I've tried to download and install the updated software - AfterEffectsTrial-12.0.1-mul-AdobeUpdate.dmg
but the system show me:
"Update Failed
Updates could not be applied
Please contact your Administrator if you wish to apply updates on your machine. Updates have been suppressed by the Administrator.
If the problem persist, contact customer support for further assistance."

Heed this part of the message that you pasted in your original post:

Whoever distributed your software (your company, your school,...) chose to disable updates for this software package. You need to take this issue up with them and get them to enable updates. There's nothing that any of us can do to override that decison made by whoever in your organization chose to disable updates.

Hi,
It’s version 13.1.1 It’s a trial version.
I am updating it from the Creative cloud desktop application.
I have the photography subscription with Lightroom and Photoshop with Creative Cloud.
I was interested in trying out the video software and have trials of Premiere Pro as well as others. The CC desktop app alerted me to the AF update just as it does for the others I subscribe to plus the ones I am using as trials. I have not had any problems with the other apps (trial or not), only with AF.

Can't update After Effects CC - Error U44M1P7

I've been trying for a few days to update After Effects CC and it keeps failing with code U44M1P7. Digging into the logs, it looks like the root error is:
"ERROR: DS015: Unable to read symlink target of source file "/Applications/Adobe After Effects CC 2014/Plug-ins/Effects/mochaAE/(Mocha Support)/mocha AE CC.app/Contents/MacOS/mediaioserver.app/Contents/CodeResources"(Seq 213)"
How can I fix this?

Rnmt have you removed and reinstalled the After Effects CC 2014? Available updates are automatically applied during the installation process. I have downloaded everything from creative cloud, but now how do I open the free trial and use after effects cc on my desktop? There is no obvious button that says open or icon to choose (that I can see)
