.Mac slideshow timing control.

AJAX slideshow with its snazzy look, but lack of timing control made it a poor implementation. I had cracked it. Here is the procedure:
1. Download: http://hac.95mb.com/dotMac/Arts_files/KBDIF.js
2. Put KBDIF.js in the same folder as slideshow.html --> typically: Photos_files folder
3. Edit slideshow.html
3a. open it with TextEdit
3b. search for 'slideshow.js'
3c. insert:
<script src="KBDIF.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
just below:
<script src="http://www.mac.com/1/slideshow/scripts/slideshow.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
so it looks like:
<script src="http://www.mac.com/1/slideshow/scripts/slideshow.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
<script src="KBDIF.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
That's it, you just added timing control. Keyboard inputs:
1 - 9 = number of seconds delay between slide.
0 = 10 seconds delay
Note: When AJAX slideshow first starts up, there is a 10-15 seconds delay for the slides and thumbnails to be loaded. I can't control that, unless I hack a lot more of AJAX js.
And default delay is 5 seconds.
Demo here, click Start Slideshow button:
http://hac.95mb.com/dotMac/Arts.html

I just uploaded new AJAX Slideshow converter to my host, and can be found here: http://hac.95mb.com/iWeb.html
This is for non .Mac server - or Publish to a Folder - method.
.Mac users will have apply the changes manually, sorry, my script magic couldn't work through iDisk (WebDAV protocol).

  • MAC address access control default?

I'm still using old graphite ABS, and all of them
are using MAC address access control.
Just by accident I connected a PB G4 with an
    internal extreme Airport card.
The MAC address of this AirPort card wasn't in the
    access list of the ABS.
It looks like ABS does only limit access through
MAC addresses for 802.11b cards. I'll spend some time
    to double check this behaviour.
Did anyone already see this default of access
    control?

I'm pretty well aware of the limitations of any kind of
MAC address control: in an hostile environment its a
"straw house" or an "empty extinguisher".
But in a collaborative and friendly environment I thought
it may be a useful "frontier marker" between "friendly" and
    clearly "hostile" behaviors.
    This belief was foolish.

  • Display MAC (media access control) address of connected access point.

Hi all! Sorry if this is already posted somewhere but I tried searching and was having difficulty because of the word MAC having multiple meanings here.
Anyways I want to be able to view the MAC (media access control) address of the access point I am connected to. Is this possible? I can't find it in System Preferences. Is there a terminal command that would allow me to see it? Any help would be MUCH appreciated. Thanks!

I'm looking at it right now. In the top portion, next to the active graph, it has the SSID of my access point. In the table beneath that, my access point is the first on the list, and the MAC address is clearly visible.
Second if I click on my access point in the list, the MAC address appears, temporarily at the bottom of the window.
For comparison, in the iStumbler preferences, on the AirPort tab, I have only "Auto-Select Best Network" & "Keep on Top" selected.

  • Require MAC (Media Access Control) address for my ...

    Hi
I recently bought the Nokia C6.
I want to connect to my WiFi network in my office.
My network administrator require the MAC (Media Access Control) address of my set to give me access to the network.
How can I find this address for my set?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    On home screen:
Open the number keypad (button in the middle in bottom row) and then dial *#62209526# (equals *#MAC0WLAN#) => Device will show your WLAN MAC address.

  • MAC address access control

Why does my airport express/time capsule show more wireless clients than I've authorized via the MAC address access control?

Sorry, but I have to re-awaken this old thread.
    1. I recently purchased a new iPad.
    2. With a) a hidden SSID, b) a MAC address-based access control list and c) a WPA2 secured network, I am assuming that no new device should be able to access my WiFi network.
    3. When I got home with the new iPad on Friday evening, and started it, it was online without even asking me whether to connect, or what the WPA2 key was.
    I find this strange.
    Additional information:
    4. I also have an iPhone 4S.
    5. I used the personal hotspot feature of the iPhone 4S to connect the WiFi-only iPad to the Internet while on the road.
    6. That personal hotspot feature was still enabled when I got home with the iPhone and the new iPad.
    7. Home network setup:
    7a) Fritz.Box 7270 as DSL modem/router (WiFi disabled)
7b) Apple Airport Extreme (v 7.6.4) connected via LAN to DSL router, (in bridge mode, create wireless network), Access control on this base station.
7c) Apple Airport Express (v 7.6.4) connecte to Airport Extreme via WiFi (extend wireless network), Access control not an option on this base station.
    8. Native IPv6 enabled on all devices (and provided by ISP).
Any suggestion and help is highly appreciated.

  • Regarding Timed Controlled Sync in smart synchronization

    Hi,
The MI documentation says that Timed controlled sync is not supported with File I/O in smart synchronization.
Is there any difference between Timed COntrolled sync and timed two way synchronization which is performed using timed two way sync bos (T01)
If they are same, does it mean that any application using timed two way sync bos, should have a mobile database.
    Regards
    Raja Sekhar

    Hi Raja ,
just refer this link also ..
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/43/5d298f28616e47e10000000a422035/content.htm
using this help , we can change the parameters in the MobileEngine.config file , so that it support time controlled synchronization.
    Time Controlled Synchronization
Synchronization  start automatically at a defined time interval as a background job.
i think file system is not so secure and not so easy to retrieve the data . there are chances for errors diring synchronization .If one error happens , that can damage the file system data base .
so in general , replace the file system with database (DB2E or MaxDB ) is the best option.
In the case of databases like DB2E , we can even administrate the database using proper GUI administrators ..

  • Slideshow Timing - Changing Individual Slide Timing

in iPhoto '11 is there any way to change the timing of an individual slide? I'm preparing a slideshow of pictures for a Thanksgiving service where the pastor wants a text slide every couple minutes with some words he wants the congregation to speak. These slides would need more time than the other picture slides. I've already created the text slides in Photoshop, saved them as JPEGS and inserted them into the right places in the slideshow.

That option is only available for some themes and not others.
    Classic
    Shatter
    Ken Burns
The others themes don't have this feature.
    Alternatives to iPhoto's slideshow include:
iMovie, on every Mac sold, as is iDVD.
    Others, in order of price:
    PhotoPresenter $29
    PhotoToMovie $49.95
    PulpMotion $129
FotoMagico $29 (Home version) ($149 Pro version, which includes PhotoPresenter)
    Final Cut Express $199
It's difficult to compare these apps. They have differences in capability - some are driven off templates. some aren't. Some have a wider variety of transitions. Others will have excellent audio controls. It's worth checking them out to see what meets your needs.
However, there is no doubt that Final Cut Express is the most capable app of them all. You get what you pay for.

  • IPhoto '09 Slideshow timing off

I'm using iPhoto '09 with all the latest patches. I have 10.6.1 OS X.
I have a slideshow of 99 pictures in iPhoto using the Snapshots theme. I have set the duration for all slides to 7.1 seconds, which should yield a slideshow duration of 11 minutes and 43 seconds, give or take a second or two. However, when I export the slideshow out to a quicktime DV format, it is only 10:57... almost a minute shy of what it should be.
This is a problem because I have the last picture in the set timed out with the fading out of the music, if iPhoto would just follow my math / timing I told it to.
So I go back and set the timing for 7.2 seconds on every slide... exact same result... total run time of 10:57. I do it again and adjust the slide duration to 7.5 seconds... exact same result... 10:57. So I quit iPhoto and go back in and rebuild the slideshow again, and this time set it to 8 seconds a slide... export to quicktime DV... exact same result... 10:57, ending a minute too early and cutting of the last minute of my song.
The kicker is this... The slideshow was 100 (vs. 99 as it is now) and when I exported it to quicktime DV it came out to 12 minutes and 4 seconds long. The only thing I did was delete one photo and re-export it and it cut the slideshow down over a minute. ***???? Shouldn't it just make the slideshow 7 or so seconds shorter when I delete one photo????
I'm so ****** about this crazy crap... makes me feel like I'm using a PC instead of a Mac when this arbitrary and illogical crap happens for no good reason.
And before you say "just use the fit slideshow to music", let me tell you, it always errors out. I have three songs that I fused together into one .wav file using iMovie HD. It is 12:05 long. When I add it as the only song it iPhoto's custom playlist on the slideshow, and then enable the fit slideshow to music option, it tells me that the music I selected is too short for so many photos, and that I need at least 12:03 worth of music... even though I have 12:05 worth of music selected! How is that too short for 99 or 100 photos? That's like 7 seconds a photo, which is fairly long for each to display.
    This is microsoft dumb.

If you still have a copy of iMovie HD 6 I suggest you use that to add the music to the slideshow. Create the slideshow without music, import it into iMovie HD 6, and add your audio tracks where you can trim, fade in/out, and have precise placement.

  • IWeb published to .mac- slideshow not working

The slideshow and 'click to enlarge' features are not working. The button is there, but nothing happens when I (or anyone) click on them. How do I activate these functions?
Also, I downloaded Moble Me, but I don't think I activated it because when I saw the features, they do not apply to me. (Will iPhones ever work with Verizon?) Do I need to activate it anyway? Is the fee the same as my .mac account? I was able to publish from iWeb to .mac, just . . . (see paragraph above).

Never mind . . . it didn't work yesterday, but is today for some reason.

  • Any way to get rid of reflection effect in .Mac slideshows?

I find the reflection effect in the slideshows totally unnecassary, and very distracting. With some photos it even has a distorting effect. I tried to get rid of it by using a workaround posted last year:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=2249212&#2249212
But this no longer seems to work. The source code also looks quite different. Any ideas out there?
    Thanks!

    iMac   Mac OS X (10.4.10)

I added Richard Blinne line of HTML to my page. It
does not seem to make any difference. The URL is:
    http://web.mac.com/geertvanderkolk/iWeb/homepage/eugene's_photos.html
I think you put it in the wrong spot. It has to go
last - you put it before the standard slideshow.js
stuff so it is still calling for the reflection.
Thanks for thinking along about this. I put the line of code for the vampire.js at the end of the head, but it does not help. I found a recent slideshow that has captions without reflection:
    http://web.mac.com/drwater/iWeb/Utah%20Elderstostel/St.%20George%20and%20Snow%20 Canyon.html
On that page I couldn't find the vampire.js at all. It's very confusng...

  • Xml slideshow playback controls issue

Hi, I'm trying to create a picture slideshow which can be controled by the user with play / stop / next buttons. I've managed to program the play / stop events with success, but I'm stuck trying to create the next button event since it doesn´t work properly. The first time I hit the next button it takes me to the same picture that has been currently loaded, the second time I hit the next button it works as expected, takes me to the next image.

  • Can you wake up your Mac remotely to control it from iPod using VNC app?

I have the VNC app that allows you to connect to your Mac or PC and control it from your iPod. Your iPod screen displays a miniature version of you computer and by using a selection of tools you are able to do everything on you Mac remotely. The problem is that when you go away or are away from your computer you don't want to have to leave it running continuously so the preferred option is to let it sleep and wake it up remotely when you need to access it. I tried calling Skype on my Mac from another computer but either just leaves a message or rings but doesn't bring the Mac out of sleep mode. This little VNC app is amazing and very useful only if I can get my Mac to wake up so I can connect to it. If not, great app but useless... at least for me.
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Kev

How about using SSH to remote secure shell into your Mac? That might wake it up.
Touchterm is the touch app to use for ssh.

  • Mac slideshow capabilities in Premier Elements 11

In Premiere Elements 11, does the Mac version have the same slideshow capabilities as the Windows version? If not, how do they differ?
    Howard

Since your question is (most likely) going to require an answer from someone who owns both versions, you may want to search the user guide

    Hi,
I have changed from a PC to a MAC but do not know how i now control my Home Hub.  I have it set to go to sleep etc at certain times but i dont know what i need to do to be able to change them now that i have a nes computer.  The Broadband is working fine.
    Thanks

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

you can control the hub via it's web interface.just type either 192.168.1.254 or bthomehub.home & then press enter. Btw, just because you change your p.c. or operating system, doesn't mean you need to change the hub settings
    free your computer, use opensource
i'm a linux user & very happy about it
