Macbeth Chart and Profiles Q

I shot the chart and ran the ACR script and then entered the numbers. Would there be any difference with that result vs. using the profile editor with the chart and choosing the both illuminates option?
Also, if we create our own profiles, are we going to have to regenerate them periodically with new versions of ACR/Lightroom like you do with your provided profiles?

Yes. The math to do this is rather simple. In principle (I have no insight into the actual implementation), it only needs to read the RAW data once and determine the RAW color values of the patches and then do a very straightforward fit of this limited data set using the ACR color transform math and a few parameters. This is of course far quicker than loading the RAW with initial parameters, averaging over the patches, determining the color error and making a new guess over and over and over. The old scripts are simply extremely inefficient because of the necessity of using Photoshop scripting and ACR.

Speedgrade and macbeth charts

Hi,
is anyone able to help me in an efficient workflow with hdslr video and macbeth charts in SpeedGrade? I am shooting in different lighting conditions with a color checker passport and i am mixing all the clips in Premiere. Then i export everything to SpeedGrade. I am using cinestyle in camera. How can i take advantage of macbeth charts? Is there a fast way to add it to all clips than copying and pasting numbers having in mind that i have shoot a diferrent chart for every lighting condition or is it useless since hdslr files aren't raw?

Also you could create a .look which white balance the cDNG, or try the Ikonoskope A-Cam matrix presets. That's into Timeline - Color Space Default.

MacBeth chart - Adjust Color Space - What do I do next?

One question remains:
Using a Canon 5D MIII, I have shot a MacBeth chart (X-Rite Original ColorChecker Card) and was able to successfully use the “Go” button under the “Clip" tab and then sub tab "Color Space” checking “Override input format’s default color space." The adjustment is amazing and the it surprised me how well this turned out.
However, now I have a color corrected 2-second video clip of a MacBeth chart. Where do I go from here? I have 50 clips and cannot use LOOKs to store this adjustment as it is in the color space world. Also, I seem to fail storing the actual color space in any way. For test purposes, I have made a screenshot of the Exposure, Black Level and Matrix settings and then entered the 15 numbers into another clip with great success, but this is a bit tedious to put it mildly.
Any advice is appreciated!

I've done some checking on this. With the way ALL timeline-affecting things have been locked down for Direct Link work, this is NOT available in DL workflows. Very unfortunately, in my opinion ... which is sometimes very humble, but in this case, not so much!
Please file BOTH bug AND program feature requests on this ... invite your friends to do so also! Not only is the Passport color-checker chart quite a useful production tool, there are a couple similar things for video that are even better. NONE of which are usable in a DL flow.
Except ... that you can start in native mode creating an ircp file, do the same thing as done in that tutorial you referenced, save the results as a Look, and then apply that Look say in an second primary just above the footage primary during your normal DL workflow. Then apply any basic WB style color cast corrections to the lowest primary. It would be similar to the way a LOG style LUT/Look correction layer is used.
Try this and see how it works.

Chart and text items are not synchron

hi all,
i am a newbie in apex 4.0.
i have two regions. the first shows a chart, based on pl/sql-code. second shows text items for possible filter an the current statement of the chart.
when user clicks on a bar in the chart then
1. i set the the first text item as filter,
2. a pl/sql-code runs, build a sql statement, assign the sql statement string to the second text item and
3. returns the statement for the chart.
it works fine. the chart refresh. and the data i can see are correct.
but the text items in the other region doesn't refresh.
when i press "refresh"-button at browser level everything is fine. chart and text items fits together.
what can I do to refresh all regions when the chart changes the sql-statment / User clicks?
Is there any way to read out the current statement of a chart?

Bernd: the reason I asked about views is that you don't have any error messages. This might indicate that (a) you have no items in the view, or (b) there's something wrong with view-role-user assignment.
To check for (a), please go to the published procurement catalog, and go to Views tab. Check that your View is Active. Click on your View ID link to display view details. You should see a list of characteristics assigned to your view in Assign Characteristics sub-tab (the list should not be blank!). Go to Assign Items sub-tab. Navigate in your schema to find items that are supposed to be assigned to your view. You should see "Yes" in the "Assigned" column for those products. If you don't, then you simply don't have any items in your view.
Another thing I'd like you to check: when the user calls your procurement catalog for search, do you see the name of the catalog displayed just below the drop-down "Select Categories Hierarchically"?

Any way to set color for value in chart and still filter out values (but retain colors)?

Is there any way that I can hard code a color into a chart and still filter out values?
I have 5 divisions, each with a specific color. I have put them into a stacked column chart and it looks fine. My issue arises when I try to filter out some of the divisions. The colors do not stay with the specified divisions.
Ex.)
Div 1 = Red
Div 2 = Green
Div 3 = Black
When I filter out Div 1, this is what I see:
Div 2 = Red
Div 3 = Green
I have tried standard delivered filter panel, and check-boxes using CHART_1.setDataSelection( )
It seems like the color hard coding in the "additional" properties of the chart are not tied to the value, but are determined by sort order. Any help is greatly appreciated

There is one Possibility bu not By chart .
It will look like chart but will use Text box .
Lets say you have 5 Divisions & 3 Key figures .
Then You need 5 * 3 = 15 Text box .
Arrange them in 5 columns and 3 rows type of view .
now .
set fix width for all .
set the height & position by coding
You need to set this type of code for filter selection also .

Report Designer - Chart and data

Hi,
I have a query section. In one of the cell, I have a chart. I have the data in other columns on the side of the chart. When I execute the report designer, I get the chart and the then the data below on the side. When I create a pdf, the data moves up to the side of the chart. I want the web view look like the pdf view where the data is on the side of the chart. Is it possible? Why is the web view and the pdf view different?

Templates for charts and other objects

Hi, new to this group, and a newbie to Macs, too.
When I do my own presentations, not relying on the templates of Keynote, I notice that when I insert a chart or any object, it looks so, what's the word? so bland and even unattractive.
So kindly allow me three questions:
First, how do I access the nice-looking charts and objects of the Keynote templates without having to open one up and cutting and pasting them on my presentation?
Second, where do I find the textures that the chart templates use for background? In which folder are they stored?
And third, which is, I suppose, a frequent plea, where can one find other templates? The ones available on the Internet aren't as well-composed as the bundled ones.

1. You can't, the chart settings are built into each theme, there's no way to get them without opening a theme. One thing you COULD do though, is make a bunch of cool charts, and copy and paste them into a "holding" file that you open when you need it. Then you won't have to constantly make an empty file, create a table and copy and paste it. The other alternative, especially if you like one particular style and will likely use it most of the time, is to lock in the table style to your own file once you've used it on your own slide once. You can find that function under the Advanced menu.
2. They aren't stored in a folder. With Keynote 1, Apple did provide you with a .key file that had chips of color or texture in it, but now they don't. You could create your own by making a bunch of objects, and then using the Copy Style functions in Keynote to copy the style of say, a colored bar in a chart, onto say, a square you just made in your new file.
As for the templates found on the web being not as well composed as the Apple one's, I beg to differ. Have you seen Keynotepro or keynotethemepark? My stuff (Keynoteuser.com) isn't as snazzy or artistic (though I think it's more usefull in most cases for the business world than many of the Apple templates) the stuff the other sites are doing is up there in quality to Apple's. Keynotepro especially is churning out stuff that in my opinion is better than Apple's.

Until you get a UK bank account and credit card, buy and redeem UK iTunes gift cards for use in the iTunes and Mac App Stores. But you need to switch your region/country to the UK store in your account information, as you can't use UK iTunes gift cards in the Irish stores, the gift cards are country specific.

Horizontal Bar Chart and Overlaying Line Chart

I am using SSRS 2008 and developing my reports in BIDS.
I have a report with two data points. I want to chart the first as a bar (horizontal) chart and then the second as an overlaying line chart.
I created both data series, originally, as a bar chart. I have clicked on the second series in the "Drop Data Fields Here" area and changed the chart to a line chart. When I do that, it changes both series to a line chart.
However, if I use the column (vertical) chart for the first series, it will let me make the second one a line chart.
Is this a limitation of SSRS 2008? Can I not have one data point be the horizontal bar chart and the second one a line chart?
If so, are there any suggestions how to get around this?

Both charts for SSRS 2005/2008 are very limited when it comes to horizontal charts and are infact supporting only left-to-right bar charts, with no ability to combine them with other charting types (lines, areas, points etc.). For a SSRS charting solution that supports all types of charting type combinations in left-to-right and right-to-left horizontal fashion you can use Nevron Chart for SSRS - www.nevron.com. Besides a huge number of charting types and subtypes (most of which are not available in the MS Chart for SSRS 2008) it also provides better image quality in 2D and 3D modes, more settings, has support for rich text formatting in texts, has image filters, ability to customize via C# code and implements many more large and small charting related details.

To hide rows (or columns), select the rows (or columns), then right click in the row (or column) tab to expose the contextual menu. Select the menu item "Hide ..."

Hide one axle of a chart and make it a step chart

Hello everybody,
I would generate a digital step chart which gets discrete data from a worksheet and rapresents them as a digital scheme.
I have already done the chart, and I simply sum an offset to each data series to avoid overlapping and it works fine.
To make this chart more professional, I would also hide the vertical numeric axle. I tryed with ExcelRpt_SetChartAxisAttribute() and ExcelRpt_SetChartAttribute (), but without success.
After I would that the lines in my chart look like a digital signal, I mean with a square shape and not with a triangular one as they are now.

Forget trying to modify these things in LT. Render out your movie. Bring it into FCP, Motion or After Effects and start applying filters.

Top 10 chart and legend problem

Hello,
I am using CR for Visual Studio 2005.I create a top 10 chart with a legend. The chart is in the group header 1b section and I'm using the underlay option so that the chart is to the right of the detail records.
The chart and legend have 2 problems:
1. The chart displays entries that are not in the detail records. The top 2 pie slices are for amounts not in the detail records or in the legend
2. The percents in the legend are not correct.The first 3 entries in the legend are:
$5,879.70 18.1%$5,219.55 16.1%$10,886.79 11.2%I would think that the $10K amount would have the largest percent and the $5879 nbr would have the lower percent.I've looked every place that I can think of to find out what is causing this, but I'm not having any luck.I also tried putting the chart in the group footer section, but the results are the same.I've also noticed this in CR XI. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if this is a bug.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thank you.

I'm using the current JRC (Java Reporting Component) to display a chart on a web page (using CrystalReportViewer).The chart markers are of one shape but many colors. The legend shows MANY DIFFERENT shapes (and many colors).When I display the chart using Crystal designer, but the chart and legend stick to a single shape.Is there a way around this, or is it simply a bug in the current JRC?

Forgot to mention: lag only applies to displaying JPanel containing graphs. Displaying "welcome" JPanel, which contains only a JLabel, is almost instantaneous.

I don't think you can do that using standard Flash or SVG. However, you can do this
using my XML Chart Package

PSE 11 - MacOX 10.7.5 -MORE-Printer and Profiles Not Working Correctly

Changed Profiles after printing many prints..     this time the first print was dark/black muddy as on my previous discussion... follow up prints fine....

I will suggest you to re verify that the Profile of your image and Profile of printer are same.
PSE11 prints an image in two different scenario:-
1. When Color Handling is governed by Photoshop Elements and 2. When Color handling is governed by Printer
I will explain you these two scenario in detail.
1. Open your image in PSE11.
2. Go to Image > Mode and note down the image mode.
3. Now launch Print dialog.
4. Click "More Options" button present on Print dialog.
5. Now select Color Management tab.\
6. Here you can find Image Space , this should be same as you noted down in 2nd step.
7. From here you can control Color Handling options.
    a) From "Color Handling" drop down you can select either "Printer Manages Color" or "Photoshop Elements Manages Color".
    b) If you select Printer Manages color then you can see the profile of your printer in Printer Profile, that you cannot change.
    c) But if you will select "Photoshop Elements Manages Color" then you can change the Printer Profile.
   Now in both cases, for best result, make sure that that Image Space and Printer Profile is same.
   Also if you are using Photoshop Elements Manages Color then please turn off the Color Management of printer from your Printer Preferences option.
If your Printer Profile is known to you then you can also change the Image mode from Image > Mode menu.
For best result of printing it is necessary that both Image and Printer profile are same.
Hope it will help you in your problem.
