Macros in AW5 spreadsheets do not work in AW6

I have just upgraded from a G3 iMac to a G5. Macros in spreadsheets prepared in AW5 running on OS 9.2 (classic mode behind OS 10.1.5) in the G3 iMac are inoperative in AW6. I installed OS 9 in the G5 using the CD that came with it, and transferred the AW 5 files from my old computer to the G5, which is running OS 10.4.2. That didn't help; the files still open in AW6 without operational macros.
I believe that the option to startup in OS 9 no longer exists as it did in OS 10.1.5. I presume that I can trash AW6 and leave only AW5 installed, but that seems drastic. If I install OS 9.2 in the G5 from the CD that I have, is there some way to start the G5 in OS 9.2 and then get to my spreadsheets via AW5?

Macros are not supported by OS X. Macros do work in AppleWorks 6 in OS 8/9 or Classic. Even in these versions, your AppleWorks 5 macros would not work, you would have to re-do them. I am assuming that the only copy of AppleWorks 6 you have is the one that came on your G5 iMac. This installation does not have the component to run in Classic. So, you will need to either run AppleWorks 5 in Classic (which works well) or find/write AppleScript solutions for your macros.

Get the context property and its corresponding macro names correct.
For accessing BTS.SourcePartyId from context, use %SourcePartyID% -This will give the source part ID-GUID
For accessing BTS.SourceParty from context, use %SourceParty% - This will give the source party name
For macros they don’t need to be promoted, existence as the context property in the message should be sufficient.

Import Spreadsheet App not working

I am trying use the Import Spreadsheet App in Sharepoint 2013 and always get the same error:
"Could not lead an object because it is not available on this machine"
This was working on a previous install of SharePoint 2013 I had.
Is something not installed or configured?
I am using IE 11 and have the sharepoint site in trusted sites?
Please help.

Have you checked the ULS logs? Also, this could be due to your office add-ins being corrupted... maybe try clearing your IE cache (including addins), and if that doesn't work an office repair may help. Also make sure that you are using the 32-bit
version of IE and not a 64 bit version (I've seen cases where windows "Pins" the 64 bit version as the default version on your task bar, so check IE version (it will say 64 bit if it is using x64), and make sure you are using 32-bit.

Totals in my spreadsheets do not work after upgrade

I have a simple accounts spreadsheet in Numbers - money in, money out, total. Before I upgraded, I used to be able to drag the right corner of the totals cell down to the next line, and the formula would follow and give me a new total. After upgrading to yosemite (wish i hadn't) everything looks the same, but the totalliing function no longer works, will not drag. Help, please

If you give your table a Header Row and a Footer Row, your SUM formulas can refer to whole columns (body cells only, the Header and Footer cells are excluded).
Formula in the Footer cell B9
=SUM(B).
Fill Right.
In Numbers 3, the Fill Handle is no longer at the bottom right corner. It is a yellow dot that appears when you hover the cursor over a cell border
Depending upon which border, you can drag to fill Down, Up, Right or Left.
The beauty of Headers and Footers in tables is that their formulas automatically update as you add or remove rows.
Click in Row 8 and press enter:
Footer is now Row 10 and the formulas will still work.
Your profile shows iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.2)
As you are now on Yosemite, time to update your profile .

Write to Spreadsheet vi does not work when opened on my laptop.

I have a very simple vi that collects data and writes to a spreadsheet. It works perfectly on my desktop computer but when I open with my laptop it does not write or give any indication that it's working.I know the vi is running but nothing happens. When I stop the vi it takes a moment to do anything and then at the top left corner it displays "Resetting Vi" and finally turns off.
Both computers have the same operating system and Labview edition.
I checked the vi properties and the labview options and both computers appear the same.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have no idea why your vis would do that, but I have developed LabVIEW to Excel vis that seem to work pretty well.
Why don't you try them and tell me how it goes?
There are 5 Sub VIs that interact with Excel and one example VI that shows one way they can be used. They're in a winzip self-extracting archive set to extract them into an 'Excel' folder on your desktop.
Use the example VI first. Type in the path of an existing workbook, or just 'Book1', the name of the sheet or just 'Sheet1',the excel cell address, and the corresponding desired cell value in the appropriate control and run the vi.
Start Excel opens and returns an automation reference to Excel. It sets the visibility of Excel to the specified Boolean state, sets the window state to Maximized,
Minimized, or Normal, and if there is no open workbook, it creates a new one.
Get List of Excel Workbooks accepts an Excel Automation Reference and returns an array of workbook names.
Set Cells in Excel Worksheet accepts an Excel Automation Number, a Workbook name, a Worksheet name, an array of Excel cell references (in A1 format), and an array of values corresponding to the cell references. After checking for the existance of the workbook and worksheet, it loops through the cell references with the 'Set Excel Cell to Value' VI.
The Set Excel Cell to value VI takes a OLE Excel Worksheet reference, a cell address and a value argument. It checks the cell address with the 'Check Excel Cell reference' VI, then sets the value of the excel cell to value.
The Check Excel Cell Reference VI checks the cell reference for validity. Cell columns may range from A to IV, and cell rows may extend from 1 to 65536. It converts A1 references to R1C1 references and returns a Boolean True if
the address is good.

Reg-Alert Macro-Day's supply not working

    We are using Data base alert macros for day's supply of SNP.But it seems macros are not working.Planning book day's supply key figures value not refelcting in alert monitor(amon1).
our setting is 0-30 days-Information;

I think you put your indicator upside down.
0 to 30 should be error and avobe 51 information.
Another comments: to check if the macro is working: after running it, in interactive or background, check table /SAPAPO/AM_ALERT to see if you can see the alert or not.
If you can see the alert in the table but not in the profile, then the issue is your profile; if you can't see your alert in the table neither, then the issue is the alert creation in the macro...

Report Export - Spreadsheet not working for one User: ECC6, SAPGUI710

Hi,
Our setup: SAP ECC6, Solaris10, Oracle 10g, SAPGUI Patch 9
Normal download like List ->export ->Local file is working
But when user click excel icon (list ->export->spreadsheet) it is not working and even it is not giving any error message.
Only one user ID we are getting problem, all other user ids are ok.
There is no issue with his work station or SAP GUI patch level as for other user id on his workstation export function is working fine. One more info with this problematic user id export function is not working in any workstation.
Any thing we need to do with user parameters/user settings or authorization????

It is not hte problem with workstation, as for other user ids on his workstation working fine. Also with his user id on other machines also not working.
Regarding trace in ST01, how to switch the trace for other users as there is no user selection option???
Is it ok if I procedd as below:
1. ST01 -> Edit menu ->Write to database
2. Selected all trace components
2. General Filters ->under "Trace for User Only" I give this problematic user id.
3. From menu "Goto" ->"Save Trace file in" I give this user id, client and time
But I am getting following message when I click "Analysis"
No records that correspond to these search criteria found

Macro not working in BEx Analyzer

Can you please explain why my Macro is not working?
We're on BI 7 with Excel 2007. I have done the following:
1) Open Workbook from BEx Analyzer and the result display on the worksheet. The was inserted in C10 and therefore, the result was display from C10 onwards.
2) I have created a Macro with the following code:

    Range("C5").Select
    With Selection.Interior
        .Pattern = xlSolid
        .PatternColorIndex = xlAutomatic
        .Color = 65535
        .TintAndShade = 0
        .PatternTintAndShade = 0

3) When click to run the Macro manually, I can see the color of C5 is changed.
4) Now I have include this Marcro in Workbook Setting ->Exits tab, Run Macro on Refresh. Here I enter my Marco name.
5) In Workbook Setting ->General tab, I also set the Refresh Workbook on Open option.
6) I have also set the Trust Center setting: select Trust access to the VBA project and Enable all macros.
7) Then I save the Workbook.
8) when I re-open the Workbook, the color of C5 is not change!!!

Spreadsheet Add-in(11.1.2.2) is not working

I have essbase server (11.1.2.2) and have a cube. I was successfully query the cube using the smart view. But when I am trying access the same cube through the spreadsheet add-in , it is not working. Any reasons why ?

Can you please give more inputs as where to fix the ARBORPATH,ESSBASEPATH ? Is it on the server side or in the spreadsheet add-in. Can you guide me how to check that ?

WinHelp, Windows 8 and Ultrabook - macros not working

Our products are generated for WinHelp 2000 using RH9 for Word
The user has symptoms typical of macros not working. This has normally been caused by the user not properly doing the step described in the Knowledgebase article at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/917607 regarding " How to enable macros on a single computer after you install the WinHlp32.exe"
I have updated a machine to Windows 8, performed the Knowledgebase article items and our products work fine. I have also verified that the user's machine has the correct registry settings, so it looks like Windows 8 is not the culprit. That leaves the Ultrabook
This combination of Windows 8 and Ultrabook is quite new and I am hoping someone using WinHelp 2000 has already run into it.
Please let me know if so.

On rereading this, I am not sure I follow.
You say "I have updated a machine to Windows 8, performed the Knowledgebase article items and our products work fine."
So on your machine it is OK but not on that of a user who has an Ultrabook, is that the case? If so, I'm not sure how to help as it is machine specific. Are you 100% sure they downloaded the right viewer and installed it with admin rights?

Alt + Tab macro not working for Sculpt Comfort Mouse in Windows 8.1

Hi,
I cant get a macro working in Keyboard and Mouse Centre for the Alt+Tab action. I've created the macro previously on windows 7 and all fine, but will not work on 8.1
Alt(press) delay(10ms) Tab delay(10ms) Alt(release)
I have a sculpt comfort mouse, though I don't think that is a culprit, as the macro itself does not work.
Alt+tab works fine on the keyboard, no problems at all.
Please help as this is spoiling my interactions with my OS, which I use almost all day most days.

Excel Macro Solutions not working after Citrix update

Very random question to see if anyone has experienced this. My team creates solutions for users to use with legacy systems to process work. The solutions are created in VB and deployed to keyboard shortcuts for users. Recently the company went to a citrix
environment. The last couple updates to citrix has caused issues for users where it looks like everything is working but nothing happens. Upon further investigation some references are missing but even when added back the solutions will not work. Ultimately
the users Citrix profile has a reset done and they reload all the solutions to make them work. Has anybody run across this before and might have any ideas what is causing it. Nobody on my team (developers) has had this issue only end users. Neither the
team or help desk have been able to pin down the root cause.

As this is not about the Excel application itself, I would recommend that you report this problem to Citrix. Let them confirm if any settings have any effect on Excel application.

Download to EXCEL not working.

Hi,
in FBL3N report, the option to download to excel is not showing any data on excel. I am doing like below.
on the report, I am going to menu LIST -> EXPORT -> SPREAD SHEET. A pop up appears. I am selecting last radio button "All available formats" and selecting Microsoft Excel (in existing XXL format).
The excel will open, however the data will not be downloaded to spreadsheet.
I tried to change the Macro settings on excel, but no results.
It used to work before, now is not working.
It is working for my id in my collegue's system.
Please suggest how to get it resolved.

Hi Rob, I have GUI 640 / EXCEL 2003 on my system.
I have re-started the system and I am able to download to excel now.
Don't know what was wrong.
