Mail adapter = XI = CRM (using Proxy)

Hi All,
I have to pull several mailboxes using a sender mail adapter. The mails are automatically generated, containing:
mailfrom, mailto, subject, body and 1 attachment.
I need to save the data (mailfrom,mailto,subject,body,filename) into a table in SAP-CRM and I need to store the file on the application server.
I can successfully map the mailinfo (mailfrom,mailto,subject,body) using the ximail_30.xsd; the problem comes with the attachment.
When the message comes in I got 2 payloads (MailMessage en MailAttachment-1 (base64))
My question now is, how do I have access (in XI or a step further in the Proxy) to the Attachment (filename and content) so I can map it to a structure (XI) or save it within the Proxy, without converting it in XI.
thanks in advance,
Andre.

Michal,
Thanks for your response.
I saw your weblog, but I wonder, if I swap the payload, I'll be missing the rest of the mail (like mailfrom, mailto, subject and content) ?
I just can't believe that I can't access the 2nd payload in the message...
thanks again and regards,
Andre.

  • Calling Web Service from CRM using proxy

    Hi all,
    I'm facing a problem trying to call a web service from CRM (WAS 620) via XI 3.0. The response that XI recieves from the web service contains SOAP Envelope, and the mapping fails because of it. I built the proxy manually, because if I load WSDL the proxy generation in CRM generates error that sais that external definition coudn't be used.
    Is there any way to remove SOAP envelope from the response while mapping?
    Is it possible to call web service from WAS 620?
    Thanks!!!!
    Anya.

    Hi Manish,
    SOAP adapter does pass the message to XI (this message contains SOAP envelope although XI expects to get message without it), and during the mapping step i get "Runtime Exception in Message-Mapping transformatio~".
    I suppose it's because i created proxy manually. I did so because when i imported WSDL, and tried to generate proxy in CRM, i got an error message that said that proxy couldn't be generated because external definitions are only allowed in XI 3. But my XI version is 3.0! And when I generate the same proxy in my R/3 system that is installed on WAS 640, it works.
    What can I do?
    Cheers,
    Anya.

  • Mail adapter fails when using Mail Package Format

    Hi.
    Using XI 3.0 stack level 9.
    When i set up the mail adapeter to Use mail package format (by ticking the "Use Mail Package") checkbox I get the following error :
    "error occured: [2005-09-14T09:42:46Z] unable to call the mailer; com.sap.aii.messaging.srt.BubbleException: Failed to call the endpoint  [null "null"]; nested exception caused by: com.sap.aii.messaging.util.XMLScanException: expecting end tag: Mail, but found Subject at state 1".
    The scenario is basic : file in mail out.
    File coming in has the structure :
    <ns:Mail xmlns:ns="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Mail/30">
      <ns:Subject>Sap test</ns:Subject>
      <ns:From>SAP</ns:From>
      <ns:To>[email protected]</ns:To>
      <ns:X_Mailer>Outlook</ns:X_Mailer>
      <ns:Content>Contect</ns:Content>
    </ns:Mail>
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Rodney,
    try to use the following structure...
    <ns:Mail xmlns:ns="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Mail/30">
      <Subject>Sap test</Subject>
      <From>SAP</From>
      <To>[email protected]</To>
      <X_Mailer>Outlook</X_Mailer>
      <Content>Contect</Content>
    </ns:Mail>
    The namespace should only be included in the Mail tag. On our side it works fine with the mentioned structure.
    Hope it helps...

    Lars

  • Different Attachment extension(.xls,.txt) in sender mail adapter

    Hi Experts
    Is it possible to use different type of attachment extension (e.g .xls,.txt) in the sender mail adapter?
    My requirement is , the attachment in the mail adapter will be used as the main payload.So I am using PayloadSwapBean adapter module.
    Currently I am using the following module key for .xls attachment and it is working.Configuration for .xls attachment is as follows
    swap.keyName-Content-Disposition
    swap.keyname-Content-Description
    swap.keyName-Content-Type
    swap.keyValue-attachment;filename="MailAttachment-1.xls"
    swap.keyValue-MailAttachment-1
    swap.keyValue-application/vnd.ms-excel.
    Now, the attachment may be .xls or .txt file.
    Now If I want to use .txt atachment then do I need to define all these parameter again and in that case what will be my content type for .txt file.
    Your inputs required
    thanks
    Ayan

    PayloadSwapBean  will only convert the attachment as the main payload.
    Yeah for reading excel file I have a separate custom adapter module.This is not in the scope of my question..
    All I am asking , can .txt as well as .xls attachment be used in the same sender mail adapter.
    If that is possible what will be my content-type for .txt or can I remove content-type and use only content-disposition and content-description so that any type of attachment it can recognise.
    The momment I am specifying  content-type , I am making it particular  that only say .xls attachment , it will identify.
    I hope I make you clear.Inputs required
    Thanks

  • Duplicate messages in sender mail adapter

    Hi,
    We are using the sender mail adapter to retrieve messages from an IMAP mail server. Messages are being picked up correctly, but when we have large messages (with e.g. PDF attachments) things go wrong.
    The time it takes to retrieve the mail message is longer than the poll time. In this case the adapter logs in again in the mail server to retrieve the first new message from the inbox. However the first adapter threat is already retrieving that message. This results in a duplicate message in XI. (messages are set to be deleted when read).
    We have tried all kind of settings in the adapter but without any results. The adapter works fine with very small messages.
    Does anyone recognize this problem?
    PS. please do not post links to sap help or the mail adapter FAQ. Useful answers will be rewarded.
    Thanks,
    Christiaan Schaake

    Hi Christiaan !
    I understand your problem. Could you set your IMAP account to avoid multiple simultaneous sessions?? maybe if there is only one session allowed per user or per time, then parallel XI threads will not be able to start downloading the messages.
    If you cannot use a longer poll interval, then you could develop an adapter module for the Mail sender adapter that could be used to verify if the current mail is just being downloaded by other thread. This adapter module could check the unique mail data (date/time + subject + etc.) against a local table.
    Regards,
    Matias.
    PD: please award points if helpful.

  • Sender Mail Adapter - html body mail

    Hello Everybody,
    I'm facing this strange problem:
    I receive an e-mail with an XML attachment with a sender mail adapter and I use the PayloadSwapBean to let the attachment be the real payload as explaned in this blog
    <a href="/people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/12/18/xi-sender-mail-adapter--payloadswapbean--step-by-step:///people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/12/18/xi-sender-mail-adapter--payloadswapbean--step-by-step
    If I receive mail in text/plain format everything works fine, but as soon as I get an email with an html body (content-type: multipart/alternative; boundary=...) it doesn't any more (In the XI  Monitor i still se 2 payloads, but I can only open the one with the attachment).
    In this case the mapping is stuck in "scheduled for outbound process" status and the XI queue gets blocked with status "SYSFAIL" giving this error "Access via 'NULL' object reference not possible".
    Is there any way to force XI digest also HTML e-mails?
    As always, thanks a lot for your help.
    Daniele

    Thanks Akshay,
    this really worked!
    Fyi I'm using XIPAYLOAD option. I added in the module chain, before the PayloadSwapBean, a MessageTransformBean with this parameter:
    Transform.ContentType - text/plain;charset=uft-8
    this way I can also see the massage body in the monitornig.
    Hope this will be helpful for someone else.
    Regards,
    Daniele

  • Receiver Mail Adapter with external Email-Provider

    Hi everyone,
    I have implemendet an Scenario with a receiver Mail Adapter. With using the SAP-Mail-Server it works fine.
    Now I want to use an external Email Provider like GMX or yahoo. But the Parameter e.g. smtp://mail.gmx.net does not work.
    Is this generally with an external Email Provider possible?
    Thanks in advice
    Christoph

    Hi,
    of course it is, but:
    your XI has to see the external provider = opened ports

  • Configuring Receiver mail adapter with dynamic email addresses

    Hi,
    I'm a newbie to XI and I have problems in configuring the Receiver mail adapter with the "Use Mail package" option selected. I am trying pickup a file (using file adapter on Sender side, picks up a simple XML file) and after mapping in XI, send the message as an email message to dynamic email addresses.
    Everything works fine if I did not select the "Use Mail Package". But when I choose that option it errors out. I followed this blog posted on SDN -
    /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/03/07/mail-adapter-xi--how-to-implement-dynamic-mail-address
    The following XML message is my source
    <ns0:Messages xmlns:ns0="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Somenamespace">
       <ns0:Message1>
          <ns1:studentlisttest xmlns:ns1="urn:karthiksender_to_karthikreceiver">
             <Student>
                <studentid>1</studentid>
                <lastname>Studentlastname</lastname>
                <firstname>Studentfirstname</firstname>
             </Student>
             <Mail>
                <From>[email protected]</From>
                <To>[email protected]</To>
                <Subject>Test mail adapter</Subject>
             </Mail>
          </ns1:studentlisttest>
       </ns0:Message1>
    </ns0:Messages>
    What I want to accomplish is, I have a simple message mapping where the Studentdetails are mapped to, lets say Customer details. For convenience lets keep it simple, StudentId --> Customerid, (student)Firstname --> (customer)Firstname, (Student)Lastname --> (customer)Lastname
    I would like to get the Customer details as an XML attachment or in the body of an email with from, to and subject corresponding to that specified in the <Mail> node.
    I followed the instructions posted on the blog and it works fine if I don't map the studentdetails to customerdetails. I did multimapping, with one source message (the xml file I posted above) and two target messages (customerdetails and Mail, which is the external definition posted on the blog). I beleive I'm missing something here. Could somebody please guide me through this?
    Thanks
    Karthik

    hi,
    I still have not found the solution for this problem. Michal, your blog works fine when my source message has got only the mail details. As per your advice, I tried modified the structure of the xsd file as follows

    So how would I get this part of the <CustomerlistExternal></CustomerlistExternal> part of the message as an attachment to the mail address specified in the <ns2:Mail></ns2:Mail> tags.
    I'm definitely not understanding it right and am missing something. Could you give me step by step instructions to acheive this. I apologize for the trouble..this would be of great help to me.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    I am working on scenario mail adapter to CRM system. And when I tried to configure the sender email adapter I have got the error following error, Can any one help me to resolve this issues
    error occured: <b>exception caught during processing mail message; java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused</b>
    the details I have provided are as follows
    Transport protocol is POP3
    URL - POP://mailservername/Inbox/folder
    And I have tried with the IMAP4 also
    URL - IMAP://mailservername/Inbox/folder
    And we have cross checked that the XI server is able to ping that particular mail server.

  • Mail adapter question

    I have a question regarding the mail adapter scenario.  Firstly data goes to ECC and some validations are performed and if there are any errors, ECC will provide me with some indicator saying this record has errors.
    Now, the same structures are used in the opposite direction and I have to count the number of error records based of that and send that info as an email. If I created a UDF to count the number of error records, how do I put that information in the email ?
    Is there anyway, I can capture that info in the mail adapter ?
    Any useful links will be appreciated.

    being from a Java background is that every method/function declaration is supposed to have the return type and I was told that behind the scenes Java is being run which is why I assumed that thats a return type.Again,  I am fairly new and I am in the process of learning things.
    For simple UDF (cache = Value), returns string.
    For advanced UDF (Cache = Context or Queue), returns array of strings.
    The problem is I did not understand the use of ResultList class in this case.
    Refer this -
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/7d/028c4057d5701de10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm
    use queue execution types but I am a little bit confused as to the usage of that.
    Because of u201Cqueueu201D function, the arguments that we define automatically become arrays, because PI is assuming that we want to operate on multiple input values with this function. That's the reason you are able to traverse through each and every value of the field "ecode".
    Any useful example would be appreciated.

    Hi Teresa,
    I think the problem is that you are using multiple "Content" tags. Have you tried to use only one?, you can concatenate all your text.
    Check the page 3 of this document to know how introduce new-line character http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/d0964d7c-e66e-2910-24bb-ac535e4a5992?overridelayout=t…

  • Mail Adapter & Mail package - pb of content

    Hi,
    I want to send an email from XI to my mail server (Lotus) by using the Mail Adapter with option "Use mail package".
    I have just succeed to send email with only <b>ONE line</b> because of field "content" which has an occurence 0..1.
    How is it possible to have several lines?
    When I try to duplicate field "content" or to change its occurence (0..Unbounded), then I don't receive an email?
    <i>Note: Unfortunatelly, I don't know XSL / XSLT mapping.</i>

    If you want to have several lines, you have to put EOL within the one "content" tag like this:
    <ns:Mail xmlns:ns="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Mail/30">
      <Subject>Hello</Subject>
      <From>[email protected]</From>
      <To>[email protected]</To>
      <Content>row1
    row2
    row3
    row4</Content>
    </ns:Mail>
    Sorry, I can only give you an XSLT example to do this.  Assume your original message payload is:
    <root>
      <text>row1</text>
      <text>row2</text>
      <text>row3</text>
      <text>row4</text>
    </root>
    you can use following XSLT file, which you attach directly to the Mail Adapter (like described in another thread):
    <xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" version="1.0">
      <xsl:output method="xml" indent="yes" />
      <xsl:template match="*">
        <ns:Mail xmlns:ns="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Mail/30">
          <Subject>Hello</Subject>
          <From>[email protected]</From>
          <To>[email protected]</To>
          <Content><xsl:apply-templates/></Content>
        </ns:Mail>
      </xsl:template>
      <xsl:template match="text">
        <xsl:value-of select="."/>

  • Proxy to Http scenario and use of mail adapter

    Hi Experts,
                     I am doing a Scenario in which we get Purchase order request(asynchronously) from SRM system in proxy xml format which we have to map to Cxml format send it to third party system(say system 2) as http request.Then we will recieve a response from system2 in Cxml format through HTTP.Now,we have to map this response as acknowledgement to SRM system via proxy if successful or error for the PO created or have some error.If error we also have to mail to the purchasing department about the error occured via mail adapter.I am confused how to start with ,as Proxy to XI is a asynchronous communication and XI to System2 is a synchronous communication as i am understood.Then again XI to SRM is a asynchronous communication via proxy.
    I have request and response External defination for Cxml i.e HTTP side.May be i am wrong if we can do this req and response as asynchronously also.Please give me right way of doing this scenario step by steps and what are we need to do this.
    Thanks

    Hi Abhishek,
                        Thanks for your suggestion and based on that I have configured following steps in BPM:
    Start-    Receive(1)---Transformation(2)-send(3)-switch(4)--
    stop
    ................................................................................. [-Transformation(5)-Send(6)-
    .......................[---Branch 1 for error codeFork--[
    .......................[..........................................................[-Transformation (7)-send(8)-
    Switch(4)----[
    .......................[----Branch 2 otherwise branch-Transformation (9)-send(10)-
    Here,
    Recieve(1) -- is used for recieve request from SRM.Mode is asynchronous
    Transforamtion(2)-- is used for operation mapping between request of SRM to HTTP request.
    send(3) --is used to sending request synchronous to HTTP,mode is synchronous,used synchronous abstract interface,abstract reqhttp and abstract resphttp
    switch(4)-switch Branch1 is used for checking error response to be true---in this branch i use a fork step with two branches
    Transformation(5)--- is used to map HTTP response to Mail response structure
    Send(6)----
    is used to send mail content to Mail adapter
    Transformation(7) & Transformation(9)---- is used to map HTTP response to Proxy response
    send(8) and Send(10) --- used to send mapped proxy response to SRM as to update user status by calling calling Function module using proxy code.
    Is my above approch is correct?
    I have defined my container elements without checking multiline option.Is in my case do we need multiline option. checked ?
    How to debug my BPM scenario from end to end?
    Again, the same question i have not use async- sync bridge here.Does my scenario works fine without this as i am getting hints from my seniours that in this scenario i need async sync bridge concept.If so how to configure and at which steps.
    Thanks
    Deepak

  • Receive CSV attachment via Mail Adapter and process into ABAP proxy

    Hi,
    I have the following scenario:
    1. Receive e-mail with CSV attachment
    2. Process through Mail adapter (KeepAttachments = Yes in order to retain the CSV attachment)
    3. Receive into ABAP proxy (with CSV attachment)
    The next step is to read the attachment in the ABAP proxy and process the CSV attachment data into CRM.
    The CSV attachment contains the data I wish to process - the body of the e-mail will not contain this information.
    The problem I have is reading the attachment data in the proxy - not sure of the methods/class to call - anyone got any ideas ?
    Another question is this the best way to do this and process the CSV attachment data ?
    I know I could use the PayloadSwapBean to switch the payload to the attachment but then I am stumped with how the attachment is processed through PI 7.1 - how do you transform the CSV format payload into XML so PI will be able to process it through mapping.
    Either option is viable - an answer to either question would be great.
    1. How do you read the attachment data in an inbound ABAP proxy ?
    2. How do you transform the CSV attachment data after the PayloadSwapBean from CSV to XML ?
    Kind regards
    Colin.

    Hi Colin
    As you are not interested in processing the body of email. Swap the payload to the attachment using the PayloadSwapBean
    Change the content from CSV to XML using MessageTransformBean. Now pass this information to Proxy. You dont need to deal with attachments in proxy.
    It is not possible to read attachment in server proxy because the class and interface you create will not have data type which can refer to an attachment processing interface in ABAP.
    Thanks
