Mail App Not Opening After Upgrading to Yosemite

I upgraded to Yosemite this morning from Mountain Lion. Everything seemed to go well until I clicked Mail for the first time. The migration process started, but the app never opened and will not open. I immediately get a crash dialog and that's it. I click reopen and get the dialog box saying, "The last time you opened Mail, it unexpectedly quite while reopening windows." I can do this over and over again. I've read the other threads, but they are not helping me.
This is the log created after it attempts to open:

Reinstalling OS X Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • Mail.app not running after upgrading to 10.10.3

After upgrading to 10.10.3 I have been unable to launch Mail.app. It either shuts down automatically or after aprox. 5 seconds.
I am attaching the error message I get. Any help would be much appreciated.
    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/3701227/Mail.app%20Error.rtf
(This website wouldn't let me post this with the error inline, probably due to its length)

Mail is still terrible on my now 10.10.3 iMac, but it is NOT working (gives no content at all for my 14 accounts) on my MacBook Pro with 10.10.2 (worked as on the iMac before I upgraded to 10.10.3.
On my iPhone 6 128GB with 8.3 also Mails has started to reject. Everything works OK if I check emails in Safari.
Apple has since 10.10 had a huge Mail-problem. And they are not addressing it, nor fixing it.

  • Mail app not working after upgrading to Windows 10

Hi The mail app is no longer working after I updated to Windows 10. When I open the app I can see the folders and the list o emails, but I can't do anything. It doesn't matter what I click on, nothing happens. Does anyone know how to fix this? Kind regards Joey

one more thing. I was not able to download cleanup tool/online scanner too. but may be it has something to do with my internet bandwidth. and other strange thing i observed is that before restart i was not even able to turn off all security features. but after restart that problem seems to be corrected.

  • Mail will not open after upgrade to Leopard

We just tried to upgraded my wife's 20 inch iMac to Leopard. the computer had been running Tiger from the day we purchased it from Apple. She is unable to open her Mail program all the way. The only window that opens is the "send" window from the pull down window and she cannot send and to close the Mail program we must force quit. While I am at it I have am unable to use my "f" numbers with my new iMac 24. Any thought there? I havet the full key board not the small keyboard with the fn key.

  • Why does my iPhoto app not open after upgrading to 10.8.2?

I keep getting a popup that says the application is busy or the files are unreadable. When I hold down the option and command keys while opening, I get a popup that asks me to check what I want to repair, but when I check on one, the other popup appears again, the app is in use or the files are unreadable. I can drag photos from my pictures file to the app, but it won't receive them because, "the app is in use or the files are unreadable. What can I do to make iPhoto functional?

Same with my 2011 Imac -- i was actually trying to use ethernet connection to  update to 10.8.2 to see if i that gets rid of the wifi drop outs @!!   Hillarious if it wasnt so frekin frustrating,  I am renting a wireless 4g dongle for the month as its the only internet access my Imac will handle until Apple gives us our connectivity back --- i heard they really don't pay attention to these forums, so may be longer than a month !

Quicktime will not open after upgrading to "Snow". The light underneath the dock icon lights up but the application does not open. Suggestions?

Actually, wasting bandwidth is a waste of people's resources who offer to help here. You posted and got answers to your post. What you thought of that would be better (for you) was posting it in every corner of AD that might get read would give you a response 30 nanoseconds faster than posting once. So read your answer and enjoy your computer.
All you need to do is post in the right forum section, and wait for a response. It will come unless nobody has a clue which rarely occurs.

I have a lot of apps not working after upgrade even apple's remote, splash id etc... Anyone else or is it just me?

I had trouble with MPR, but since it's free, I just deleted it and reloaded it directly from the App store onto the phone. It had an upgrade, too, that must have clashed with the 2.2 upgrade. Once I did the download, it was fine.
