Mail confirmation after File-to-File scenario completes

I have a scenario which picks a number of files from a sender FTP server and moves it to another receiver FTP server . There is no mapping involved .  It is just a FTP job via PI.
I need to send a confirmation email to a mailid with the filenames that were successfully moved in the mail body once the scenario is complete.
Is there a standard functionality in the receiver comm channel? Or is there some workaround to achieve this?

One more option can be to use the mapping and then use mail receiver adapter...
just include the mail receiver adapter in the interface determinations and ensure that the check box Maintain order at Runtime is not disabled...
this will ensure that the mail will be delivered once the file gets transferred only...

  • Mail Attachment after File Vault Turned on.

I turned on File Vault in my iMac and it took nearly 9 - 10 hrs to completely encrypt.  Today, when I sent mail attachments in jpeg format, (only images of scanned copies) my friends couldnt open it.  I resent it a few times and finally I had to send it in PDF.  Before turning on the File Vault, this has not happened.  I dont understand this.  If it is due to File Vault, then, should I convert all the images to PDF before attaching with mail?  Members, please explain me the system and help me.  Thanks.

It should be shareable as long as you are logged in. If you want it shareable at other times, put the iTunes library (and any audio files that are not in the library) outside your home folder. Itunes Help has instructions on moving the library. Set the permissions so others can read the library. If the other user holds Option when starting iTunes there will be an option to choose the library.

  • Need an alert to be sent after succesful completion idoc to file scenario.

    Hi ,
we have an idoc to file scenario, the user wants a email confirmation after the file is generated, can any body help how i can trigger an alert once  file is generated by xi(in a idoc to file scenario).
    regards

    Hi Sandeep,
we have an idoc to file scenario, the user wants a email confirmation after the file is generated, can any body help how i can trigger an alert once  file is generated by xi(in a idoc to file scenario).
Well, you can generate an email after your file has been sent (use BPM for this).
But I believe your Client wants a confirmation of file delivery through email, which might be a problem. By using the above step, you will be able to send the email after file is sent, but it won't confirm whether the file has been successfully delivered.
You need a synch message which file won't be supporting. So, the other way is to ask your Client if it is possible for them to send an acknowledgment to PI after receiving the file, and then you can trigger the email.
Unfortunately, there is no straight way out for your problem.
    Hope this helps.

  • Unable to get source file content as mail body in file to mail scenario

    Hi Friends,
I am facing one problem with one of my file to mail scenario in PI(SP9).  I have done bypass scenario(without IR only with ID objects). Scenario is working fine, i am getting mail also.  But my requirement is i want complete source file content as a mail body (not xml format, text format).  I have checked all options, but configured scenario bydefault taking source content as a attachment and mail body is empty.  I have tested below options
    1. If i choose message protocol as FCC mechanism at source side content at target side i am getting xml format as a attachment( In mail adapter i have selected message protocol as xi payload, and without packate option on mail adapter). If i choose message protocol as xi all, i am getting 2 files as a attachment (one file as a payload content and second file as a source file content in xml format).
    2. If i choose message protocol as file at souce side that time i am getting source complete content as a attachment at target side in xml format, but mail attached file content is flat file(.xml extension) format. When i tried to open attachment file that time i am getting error in explorer, but i can see only one row in explorer  remaining rows unable to see.
Please share your ideas on this.

    Hi,
    Follow below steps
    1. First basis level need to configure setup(SMTP) for mail.  After that only mail will go from SAP.
    2. Source side depending on requirement take communication channel(idoc, file etc)
    3. Receiver side communication channel take mail adapter and configure below setup
3.1 select message protocol XI ALL/ XI PAYLOAD(WITH PACKAGE or WITHOUT PACKAGE)
3.2 if message protocol is XI ALL, the complete content will be sent as a attachment along with payload file
3.3 if message protocol is XI PAYLOAD, the source message, the source message will be sent as attachment.  Playload file filter automatically.
3.4 If you use PACKAGE option on mail adaper, this time source strucute need to import from SAP (some standard structure only will be support, without strucutre we can't work).  If you choose package option no need to give mail id on communication channel, we need to pass mail id's from source structure.
    I hope now clear.

  • Unable to get filename from mail to XI to file scenario

    Hi
How could i get the name of an attachment to be used as the file name on my File Adapter in a Mail to file scenario?
I recieve the files as attachments and I have used the payload swap bean to swap my actaull message content to attachment. That works perfect, the contents of the file are saved successfully on my file system.  The file is sent as a plain text file and not xml and no mapping is done, I just get the files from the mail and save them into a file server for further processing.
Your help will be highly appreciated

  • MAIL TO FILE SCENARIO--3 MAILINBOX configured in the same Outlook

    Hi All,
    I have  a  below requirement :
A vendor is sending an e-mail with attached an invoice (PDF, TIF, etc) to a common Outlook (But can have several mailboxes: eg abc@xxx. com ; xyz@xxx .com)
When a new email arrives in these inboxes (Note : Same Outlook Server ), XI needs to pick up the attachment of the  unread mails and place it in  the network folder.
I did go through this SDN Link (Mail to File Scenario ) : http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/XI/StepbyStepMailToFileScenario , but  have few queries:
    - Mail Sender CC should be configured as IMAP4 to read the unread mail , pick up the attachment and place it in network folder.
-Here , how do we configure for several inboxes of same Outlook..?
-Secondarly i believe , mapping is not required in this case  as xi just picks up the attachment and place in File location.
Could you please me any info that  meets this requirement .
    Thanks,
    Vara

Here , how do we configure for several inboxes of same Outlook..?
Configure as many sender mail channels as the number of mailboxes.....each pointing to a different mailbox.

  • Payment advice sent by e-mail, payment media file to be created before

    dear all
We have implemented e-mail as a way of sending out the payment advices automatically to suppliers.
Currently we execute the payment run, generate the payment media (which at the same time creates the payment advices and sends them out by e-mail) and then we import the file into our bank system, where payments have to be approved by a finance manager.
We occasionally have the problem that the payments are not approved on the banking system on time - however the payment advices have already be sent by e-mail because the printout program does it at the same time as the payment file is created. Previously, because the payment notes were sent by post, we only sent them out after confirming that the payments had been actually executed in the banking system.
What the finance department is asking for is whether the payment advices can be sent by e-mail only after the payments have been approved at the bank (and for this to happen the payment file has to be generated in a previous step) - Is there any way of achieving this?
    thank you

    Hi Rafael,
For this you will have to do the following.
Frist check with the ABAPer that whether there is any std. Program or function module in the system that can sends mail.
    1) With the help of ABAPer create a SAP Script form as per the requirements of Client as Payment Advice.
    2) Do the Configuration required for the Correspondence.
    3) You will have to develope a Z program or functionmodule to shoot mail as soon as the APP is completed. This you will have to do with the help of ABAper.
    4) Last but not the least you wil haveto maintain the email addresses of the vendors in their master record.
    Regards

  • Mapping error in File to File Scenario.

In a file to file scenario some times sender communication channel picked the file, before the file is completely copied to the directory Though the poling intervals is 300 seconds. To my assumption, assume that the sender communication channel lastly polled on 10:10:10 and i am coping a file after 285 sec that is 10:14:55 and file size is 20 mb that takes 50 sec to copy. but the next sender communication channel poling is 10:15:10. here the file is partially copied but the communication channel picked the file and process. The scenarios throws mapping error because of in correct input file. This rarely accords but how to handle this. i want the cc to wait until the file is completely copied to the dir and then poll.

    Hi ,
But there is some problem with system i guess. Adapter engine first load the whole file and then send it to Integration engine where after receiver and interface determination , mapping is excuted. So the fact that adapter picked up half of the file and tried to process does not seem correct.
Ideally this behaviour should not occurs.
If you are observing similar with all the adapter , you should also cross check with SAP support team.

  • Reg error in flat file to flat file scenario

    Hi techies,
Iam just starting working with XI scenarios.
In base flat file to flat file scenario which is mentioned in wiki.sdn
    http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/XI/FLATFILETOFLATFILE
I had completed entire scenario. After generating sender file. Iam getting this error in runtime work bench.
Conversion initialization failed: java.lang.Exception: java.lang.Exception: Error(s) in XML conversion parameters found: Parameter 'CONTACTS.EMP.fieldFixedLengths' or 'CONTACTS.EMP.fieldSeparator' is missing
Please suggest how to resolve this error.
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,
    Kiran

    Hi,
    From your error description,
Conversion initialization failed: java.lang.Exception: java.lang.Exception: Error(s) in XML conversion parameters found: Parameter 'CONTACTS.EMP.fieldFixedLengths' or 'CONTACTS.EMP.fieldSeparator' is missing
it is clear that you have missed out either or both the 2 parameters in receiver file adapter content conversion, namely EMP.fieldFixedLengths and EMP.fieldSeparator.
From the example that you followed, use the following values for the 2 parameteres is the output file is a comma separated file:
    EMP.fieldFixedLengths:    8,10,10
    EMP.fieldSeparator:           ,
I have assumed that the lengths of the fields NAME,ADD,MOBILE are 8,10 and 10 respectively. Change them according to your requirement.
Use any other value in place of comma(,) in EMP.fieldSeparator according to the requirement.
    Hope it helps you buddy!!!
    Thanks
    Biswajit

  • FILE - FILE Scenario - output file is not available

    Hi
I'm doing simple file - file scenario based on the weblog
    /people/venkat.donela/blog/2005/03/02/introduction-to-simplefile-xi-filescenario-and-complete-walk-through-for-starterspart1
In RWB >> msg monitor shows, the message status is successful. But I'm unable to find output file in the directory as I mentioned.
Pls help me where to find.. what is the problem
    - Govind J

    Hi Govind,
These are a few things you can do:
Check the permissions of the folder where the file is being generated by XI.
If you are doing Content conversion, please can you just remove it and see if the XML file is getting generated.
Also, please check if it's picked up by any other application when you place it on the server.
I am assuming out here that you are speaking abt the file that is give by SAP XI after processing the incomming file.
Also check default .trc log file in visual admin.it will tell u if there any errors
and also check the permissions of the files generated by XI

    Abhy
