Mail not receiving junk mail

ok. so most of you would think this isn't a problem, but my mail isn't receiving any junk. i usually receive a minimum of 2 junk messages an hour, but i have had no activity since this morning. my regular mail is fine. this happened about a month and a half ago and i didn't receive any junk for 4 days. it was really strange. i have things that go to junk, like my ebay or stuff from my inlaws (that just makes me smile) that i need to read but don't want popping up on my iphone. also, i have checked my mobileme and it isn't showing up there either.
thanks for any advice!

On my computer there were only three junk mail messages - checked my wife's computer and there were at least 25, including a couple that were VERY important. Why would junk mail show on one computer and not the other?

  • Mac E-Mail Not Receiving Incoming Mail From ATT/Yahoo Mail Server

Recently "upgraded" to ATT U-verse. My Mac email client (3.6) suddenly not receiving incoming mail from the web-based ATT/Yahoo. Settings-all are correct: Telephone talk with Tier 1 and Tier 2 ATT reps confirmed "unusual" problem, and that the settings (ports, ssl, etc.) are indeed all correct. Tier 2 supervisor referred ticket (F23576784) to the brilliant minds at Yahoo for help. I've heard nothing for five days. Some emails do get received on my client, from (Apple, ATT, for example). Others languish on the web-based mail, with no push to my iMac. Tests of sending myself e-mails continue to confirm problem, with test emails sitting at Yahoo server, no push to my Mac client.
I am able to send e-mails successfully from client. Interestingly, a couple of incoming e-mails from friends did manage to slip through the lines and arrive in my Mac client a couple of days late. Brave little souls, they're not talking.
I've tried all sockets, all other settings possible, but no luck. Why is there no straight-forward answer to this proliferating problem? Odd e-mail behaviors? No documented or shared answers by the big outfits to Mac users? Mac mail virtually disabled and useless? Has anyone found a path to resolving the varied but similar problems in this area yet? Thanks in advance for any help offered beyond adjusting preferences over and over and over. That ain't working.
    Stuiee

Geez, some emails are getting through, most are not forwarded to my client MacMail. They are also marked as read, which could mean that Yahoo is forwarding them somewhere...(?) Can't get ahold of Yahoo, ATT forwards me to Yahoo, Yahoo has no method of emailing real, technical questions, ATT supervisor actually called Apple and there is nothing wrong with the OS or my set up requirements.
Does anyone know a workaround for setting up smtp requirements? Can't switch email clients at this time, would take a lot of changing existing contact info for bizz.
At this point all I would like to know is, where is the problem? Why does a server (ATT/Yahoo) send some mail to my account, not send others, and marks all messages on the webmail as read? Thanks for the one response, I do believe the problem is some minor error set at the isp's server software for Macs, but who knows?

  • Mail not receiving incoming mail from gmail account

I have an imac with 10.5 that has suddenly stopped accepting email in one of my gmail accounts, but still gets it from another. I synched my imac with my ibook earlier today. The ibook has the same problem accepts mail from the account that the imac doesn't etc.

    Hi,
Did you select “Directory Management Service” option, if so, please make sure you configure the Central Administration application pool identity account to have the Create, delete, and manage user accounts right to the container that you specify in Active Directory.
Did you install Exchange server 2003 in your MOSS environment? If so, you should add an SMTP connector in Exchange Server, if you don’t know how to do that, you can post your issue into the following forum:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvrdeploy/threads
Also, please check whether your configuration meet the following requirements, If not, correct them and check the effect.
    ·         The application pool account for Central Administration, the logon account for the Windows SharePoint Services Timer service, and the application pool accounts for your Web applications should have the correct permissions to the e-mail drop folder.
    ·         The domain controller running Active Directory has a Mail Exchanger (MX) entry in DNS Manager for the mail server that you plan to use for incoming e-mail.
For more information about how to configure incoming e-mail settings, please refer to the following article:

  • Mail not receiving new mail

can anyone help im not recieving any new emails but i can send emails ...... i tryed to uninstall the email address that didnt help..... i tryed the doctor connection test it said that im connected??/??????
    pls can anyone help

Same problems here. Glad I'm not the only one.
After looking at the Activity window, this is what it displays:
    http://screencast.com/t/NWU4N2Q5M
The Connection Doctor just says that all accounts were able to log in successfully, so no help there.
After clicking on the Stop Sign icon beside the stuff in the activity window (which effectively "stops" that task it's beside), I can then right click and "synchronize" my Exchange account and it receives all messages immediately, including the inbox. It's a work around, but I'm not sure that just command+Q and reopen wouldn't be easier.
It appears that a receive action just freezes up, which is why a resync before you kill the first sync doesn't fix it and a quit+restart does. As a side note, I can send messages through Exchange just fine when this receive lockup occurs.
Apple, please look into this...you have a better mail client than M$, but at least theirs stays connected.

  • Mac Mail Not Receiving New Mail from Exchange

Hey everyone, in the last few days, I've noticed that my Mac Mail isn't downloading new messages from my company's exchange server.
I can log into the web-based exchange server and see new messages sitting there, unread. If I quit Mail and re-open it, it fixes the problem, but taking all of the accounts offline and bringing them back online does not fix the problem.
Does anyone know what might be causing this and how to fix it? I'm thinking some cache might be full or something.
    Thanks in advance

  • OS X mail not receiving sent mail

I have just set up my Tiger server from scratch for email. But although my email client can see my account and the server is recognised (the MX record is correct) from within the mail app on an external machine. I can also ping using my mail.ourdomain.com.au but If I try to send an email it just disappears into the ether. I have poked the ports for mail in out ADSL modem (this has not changed from when the old server was working) so it is just my setup with the new server (which I installed from scratch including creating new users, as we only have a few people who need email access to our server).
Is there anyone who can shed some light on why I cannot retrieve email or why it does not seem to be received by the server. Any help would be appreciated
    best regards
    SIMON L.

There is nothing in the mail Queue.

There is something else you should know. We are running a webserver on a second Mac OS X machine on a separate ip so that if the mail server goes down our webserver is still OK. I was running OK on 10.3 server with the same connections but when I upgraded the server it failed to boot up so I erased and installed from scratch, created new users (we only have 10) and hoped to be up and running easily.
My router has the ports to the server opened (as it did for 10.3 server) and it is a DHCP server, so our server is on 10.1.1.10. Our MX record points to the Main IP. Our domain is mail.trackdown.com.au and that seems OK (hasn't changed).
So I am at a bit of a loss. If I ping Mail.trackdown.com.au it seems OK.
    Hope this info helps.

  • I'm not receiving any mail into the Junk Mailbox

    Hi
I had a problem with the ports of the 2 accounts that I have set up in Mail (one of those is mac.com) due to an excess of space used. I tried several options and it finally it worked. As a result, a week later I realised that I was not receiving any mail into the Junk Mailbox... I don't know if it is related to the orher problem, maybe not.
Essentially I am no longer receiving any junk mail at all - and no mail that is even doubtful (ie from an unknown address). The mails are not showing up even online via MobileMe ... so I have no idea where they are!
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, I'm the author of the form and I expected the generic notification to be sent to that email but none is coming through.  I also see that there is a place on the settings page to enter a custom notification email but that is grayed out unless I upgrade.  I just want at least one, generic email to be sent to me so that I can know when a user submits a form.
    Here's my screen shots:

  • Using Adobe SendNow and so many people not receiving the mail!

Using adobe sendnow and so many people not receiving the mail! How do you stop or limit the messages going to spam/junk? Is that where they are going? Please help!

There are many hundreds or thousands of different spam filters, so it's impossible to say what triggers them. You can do a test though: send the same file, but for a subject use only "File for ...." and give the person's exact name. No other words. If this gets through, your words unfortunately have been used by too many spammers. (Rather like someone with the misfortune to be called James Viagra - nobody would ever receive their email).

  • Mail not received

I have had a friend tell me he's written to me but I have not received any mail from him. How do I check that I have not missed any mail?

    Hello Bernardette,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!
From what you are describing it sounds like the emails from your friend may be being incorrectly identified as junk, or spam by the iCloud filters
I would take a look at this part of the article named iCloud: Identifying and filtering spam found here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4899:
Also make sure to check your Junk folder for email messages that were incorrectly marked as spam. To check your Junk folder from iCloud.com, choose the Mail application and click the Junk folder in the sidebar.
Note: Email messages in the Junk folder are automatically deleted after 30 days.
    All the very best,
    Sterling

  • Not receiving forwarded mail

I am not receiving forwarded mail from a work-related web-based email site. Everything on that site seems to be okay -- only the address you want the mail to be forwarded to needs to be entered. It is correct so it should be going through.
I am thinking it must be some setting in Mail that is causing the problem. I have turned off all junk email filtering to see if that would solve the problem but it doesn't. If someone with the work address emails me, it goes through so I do not think that address is being blocked by Mail. No one else at work has a problem receiving forwarded email on their home computers. It must be something on my computer but I cannot figure it out.
Any ideas? I do have the Apple firewall on -- do I need to change something there?

Hi. I am having the exact same issue with my x2 forwarded domain names routed through Easily.co.uk. It also started around the same date as yours. My e-mail had been fine, but now I get a 'random' e-mail every now and again (as though somebody is letting the odd e-mail through, just to keep me happy), but I'm not even receiving 'test' e-mails I have sent to myself to my x2 forwarded domains.
The odd thing is that my spam folder is still accepting e-mails that have my forwarded e-mail addresses on in my online BT account, so they can get through, but the e-mails I need to actually receive are not getting through....and suprise suprise, BT have their usual 'BS'...'we are very busy at the moment' cobblers on the phone so I cant get through to speak to somebody about it. Anybody got any ideas??
    Cheers.

  • Not downloading junk mail?

I am new to using a Macbook and I sent up the mail program to receive email from two different addresses: a gmail account which is setup as a Gmail POP account and an exchange account which is my college email address.
I have had no issues sending and receiving email, however, is there a way to make the mail program not download junk mail from the exchange account? The spam mail goes into a separate folder but I would prefer not to download any email from the server that goes into the folder. I tried looking through the options and haven't seen anything.
    I hope someone can help!

Hello, and welcome to the Discussions.
An Exchange account operates as an IMAP account more-or-less. In Mail, with IMAP accounts, folders cannot be selectively subscribed to. At the minimum the list of messages in each folder the server gives you access to will be synced to your computer, but you can set things so only the message index info is downloaded and not the message content (which is only downloaded as you click to read a certain message). But if you do that, you can only read when connected, and not when Offline.
You might ask the IT dept if the Junk folder could be setup to not be available, except via web access.

  • Why am I not receiving e-mails with activation code for e-print ?

why am I not receiving e-mails with activation code for e-print ???? Have requested resends of e-mail several times -- but nothing as yet

    Hi yvonnek49,
Welcome to the HP Support forums.  I understand that when trying to activate the HP ePrint app that you haven’t received the activation code.
Which email address are you using to activate the app, your personal email or the printer’s ePrint email address?  If you have been using the printer’s ePrint email address, please try again with your personal email address.  If you have been using your personal email address, please check your junk/spam folders to see if it was redirected there.  It can take up to 24 hours to receive the email.

What are the correct mail account settings and more importantly the correct DNS settings

Do not delete the old account yet. sign up for an iCloud account if you haven't.
I understand .mac mail will still come through. Do not delete the old account yet.
You cannot use .mac or MobileMe as type of Account, you have to choose IMAP when setting up, otherwise Mail is hard coded to change imap.mail.me.com to mail.me.com & smtp.mail.me.com to smtp.me.com, no matter what you try to enter.
iCloud Mail setup, do not choose .mac or MobileMe as type, but choose IMAP...
On second step where it asks "Description", it has to be a unique name, but you can still use your email address.
    IMAP (Incoming Mail Server) information:
              •          Server name: imap.mail.me.com
              •          SSL Required: Yes
              •          Port: 993
              •          Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
              •          Password: Your iCloud password
    SMTP (outgoing mail server) information:
              •          Server name: smtp.mail.me.com
              •          SSL Required: Yes
              •          Port: 587
              •          SMTP Authentication Required: Yes
              •          Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
              •          Password: Your iCloud password
Also, you must upgrade your password to meet the new criteria:  8 characters, including upper and lower case and numbers.  If you have an older password that does not meet these criteria, when you try to setup mail on your mac, using all of the IMAP criteria listed above, it will still give a server error message.  Go to   http://appleid.apple.com         then follow directions to change your password, then go back to setting up your mail using the IMAP instructions above.
    Thanks to dpepper...

  • Iphone mail app not receiving e-mail from 1 sender

The Mail app on my iPhone 6/iOS 8.3 is not receiving e-mail from one sender sent to my Outlook e-mail account. This sender's e-mail address is "[email protected]". It is a notification of digital magazines available from Zinio. I know the mail app is not receiving the e-mail because Outlook 2013 on my desktop and Outlook.com do receive these e-mails. How can I get the mail app on my iPhone to receive these e-mails from this address?

Initially it sounds like something with your backup data caused the issue with your new device but if you restored your device again without using the backup and the issue still exists it wouldn't appear to be the issue at all. Since the problem seems to only be with one person are you sure it's not an issue on their end and with their network that is stopping you from receiving the messages? Have you tried *228 option 2 to see if that helps?

  • I'm not receiving e-mail on my "New" iPad, and I want tdeleted my yahoo mail account and reinstall it.  When I go to settings to delete the account, it says I will lose everything in notes, calendars, reminders, etc.  Can I delete ONLY the e-mail account?

I'm not receiving e-mail on my iPad (3).  I want to try deleting my yahoo mail account and reinstalling it, but when I go to settings to do this, it appears that I will lose my notes, calendars, reminders, etc.  Is this right, or is there another way to do this?

Give it time. Yahoo has had persistent issues the past few weeks. wait 24 hours or so and then try again.
