Mail Per User Quotas Not Working

We just migrated from 10.9 server to the new 10.10 server and noticed that our per user mail quotas were no longer working.  If I change the Server app - Mail setting - to have a global mail quota on it work, however, we have a few accounts that we need to leave unlimited and the per user quota will not override the global quota.  So far we have had to leave the global quota disabled because of this.
Even without global quota turned off - trying to set per user mail limits is still not working.  We are changing it thru the Server app and clicking users - selecting a user - then select edit mail options - and changing the setting for the limit size.  No matter what we set it to - it will not work.
Does anyone know what command or how to change the per user quota limits from the command line?  I found that Dovecotadm quota -u username  shows you what the quota is, but I am stumped as how to change it via a command line or thru another method since the server app is not working.
Any help would be appreciated!
ps. Also posted my doveconf -n file below, but I am missing if there is anything not configured properly.

I guess the problem didn't resolve itself, rather it has revealed that it is intermittent (my favorite kind).
What could made a message sent to a legitimate alias username not get picked up during the imap connection. I know the smtp server accepted the message (see logs above).

    Hello,  I have iMac Itel i3, from Oct, 2010 and have OS 10.6.7 and multiple users.
    About 3-4 days ago the Mail icon in dock had question mark and was accidently removed, along with program on my user.  Oops.
    1. Mail 4.4 is on other users and works fine, but for me it does not work and tells me V4.3 does not work with latest OS X.
    2. I reloaded software from my user with original disks  (Oct, 2010) and got Mail 4.3 again. Mail 4.3 did not work with latest OS.  I am unable to load Mail.  Gives Yellow error message.
    "  You have Mail version 4.3 (1081/1084). It can’t be used on Mac OS X Version 10.6.7 (Build 10J869). For more information, click the Help button."
    3. Tried to update software and look for update for mail 4.3 on Apple site to no success.
    Hate to go to MS-Entorage ( I may need to learn something new and alien) mail program since contracts are in Mail/Address Book.
    Ideas?
    MattDeeds

    Matt,
    I would download and run the 10.6.7 combo update.

  • ZFS per-user quota availability

    Hi,
    I am just wondering if the new Solaris 10 update will include per-user quota for one ZFS file system?
    To be able to auto mount cross different file systems as exported by ZFS, one must use autofs4, which is an requirement very difficult to meet. We run different Linux distros/Unix and versions of various Linux and Unix. It's not possible to upgrade autofs to the latest autofs4 on all of them. Also we need to keep different versions around.
    Simon

    Let's use an example. Create one file system for each user, user1, user2 and user3.
    /export/home/user1
    /export/home/user2
    /export/home/user3
    On one Linux client, user1 logs in and autofs auto mounts /home/user1. When user1 tries to change directory to /home/user2. Autofs would not mount /home/user2 because the autofs older than autofs4 can't cross a different file system to mount.

  • In OS Yosemite the search function in Mail, Finder, Spotlight- does not work

    MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013)
    2,6 GHz Intel Core i7
    16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
    NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2048 MB
    OS Yosemite,
    Finder versión 10.10.1
    Mail Versión 8.1 (1993)
    In OS Yosemite the search function in Mail, Finder, Spotlight… does not work. Messages or documents with the search criteria are there and one could find them manually, but the search function fails to find them. Following advice from Apple Support (728965377):
    1. I applied an Apple protocol for adware removal (Remove unwanted adware that displays pop-up ads and graphics on your Mac); I had none, because I had formally utilized a similar protocol that I had found in Internet, actually an app that implemented automatically Apple's adware removal protocol.
    2. I rebuild the post boxes in Mail (Mail (Yosemite): Reconstruir buzones); It took a while but it functioned properly
    3. I re-install the System (OS X Yosemite: Reinstalar OS X); It took about 4 hours but there was no problem whatsoever with the installation.
    Afterwards I searched for messages in Mail, and documents in Finder and Spotlight, without any difficulty. The search function in all of them was working properly. But the next time that I needed to search messages or documents, an hour later or so, the problem reappear and a couple of new issues occurred:
    1. in app RagTime 6.5.2 (Build 1821), www.ragtime.de, the menu bar disappears (it is invisible), when one performs certain operations, e. g., calculating a value with a formula, whether it is in a spreadsheet or some other component (text, drawing, etc.). After touching with the cursor the menu bar is visible again.
    2. after reading an e-mail in Mail or copying an address, this is seeing as a floating object in the finder and over every application. There is no logical way to get rid of the floating object and neither copying or deleting or cutting it. It is not a big issue but nonetheless bothersome.
    3. In Mail, messages with Flag or in VIP contacts cannot be seen in the appropriate folders, only in the Incoming mail folder, together with other messages. It seems to me, this issue is part of same search function problem.
    4. The preview function within Mail does not show the attached documents to a message, whether it is in the IN, OUT or Draft boxes.

    Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
    The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
              SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
    from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
    Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try again to re-index Spotlight. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
    The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
    Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
    Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
    Some private information, such as your name or email address, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.

    I have to reinstall Mail as it's not working well. How can I make a back up of my emails so as not to lose them all?

    Thank you for your time Woody. Recently the Mac seems to freeze a lot, seemingly due to a problem with the airport, especially if the computer is inactive for anything more than a few minutes. Then yesterday I suddenly couldn't send or receive messages so I got in touch with my server and they reconfigured the mail account. I can now receive messages but can't send them, always getting a timed out message when I try to send an email. I phoned the server again and they said it must be a problem with Mail as we tried sending a message online from the server's webpage and it worked fine, so they suggested I reinstall Mail. So hence my original question. Sorry for the rambling! I'm not very computer minded.

  • Mac mail search function is not working. Any search term returns all records.

    Mac mail search function is not working. Any search term returns all records.

    hi eric. many thanks.
    i will have to read these links closer but what i meant to say is that the hard drive space that was being taken up seemed like it suddenly jumped way up because i had just gotten through a process in the last month where i am storing all my My Documents data on my Mac Pro. i am doing this in order to decide whether i should just keep it ALL on my Mac Pro and use ChronoSync to sync /some/ of it to my MBP.
    so if i look in the Documents folder on my Mac Pro i have a ton of folders that i have created with a ton of data. if i look in the Documents folder on my MBP there are NO folders that have data in them that i created. there are other folders such as folders that various software created but what i mean to point out is that there was a LOT of available space on my HD until recently.
    i am wondering if there is some way that running the Mail re-index (it then ran some kind of "Importing" routine) or by syncing my Photostream to the MBP caused a huge jump in data on this drive. if it is the photostream sync i can just take this off or see if it will sync more selectively. if it is something to do with mac mail jumping in size i am not sure why this would happen or what to do about it.
    does that question make sense?
    i mean, before i did these two operations my recollection is that i would have had 130 GB on the hard drive (really just guessing here) and now there is like 218 GB on the hard drive and i don't know where all this came from...

    If the email hasn't arrived after a few hours and isn't in a spam filter, you need to ask Apple to reset your security questions. To do this, click here and pick a method; if that page doesn't list one for your country or you're unable to call, fill out and submit this form.

    Hi Ronny.
    Where is your UME running? On the java engine, on an ABAP system or at a LDAP?
    What i want to say is that your user has to gain the rights to connect to the SLD. Easiest way is to give you admin rights - to do that you have to know where your userstore is running....
    I am not sure if this is correct http://localhost:50000/sld
    Normally it should look like http://my.sap.com/56600/sld where my.sap.com is a fqdn and 56600 is the port of the java engine. 66 ist the system number of the as java.
    ZBAPI? I do not really know but i think you have to use a jco to connect...
    regards,
    Martin

  • Mail search function does not work after reinstalling

    Hello!
    I recently had to re-install Leopard on my MacBook Pro.
    I made a clean install so, I manually copied the Mail folder and preferences from my old home folder to the new one.
    All mails are present, and everything works great, apart from the fact that the search function does not work.
    I can search for new mails (that came after the reinstall) but the old ones "dont exist" as far as the mail.app goes.
    What can I do about it ?

    It would probably be easier to do the entire hard drive. The App Store also uses Spotlight, so updating it will help there also. It takes some time to re-index and your computer will/may run slower until it is done.
    Direct answer to your question is go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J.  When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Then go to System Preferences/Spotlight per the linked article and in your user folder, select Library/Mail/V2.
    Thanks to leonie for some information contained in this.

  • WEBUTIL_HOST.NONBLOCKING with quotes not works more !

    Hi,
    Forms 10.1.2.3
    Java 1.6_27, 1.6_34, 1.7_21
    windows 7
    Office 2010
    the interesting thing is we have changed nothing in the code for last 3 years
    We have not performed a Windows or Java update.
    Overnight, the call does just work like in example 2. But then I can not use more space in the Filename !!
    1)
    the last 3 years was used this call:
    WEBUTIL_HOST.NONBLOCKING('cmd /c "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14\winword.exe" "C:\tmp\Docs 2013.doc"');
    2)
    This call works now
    Space was removed. Docs2013.doc instead Docs 2013.doc and without quotation marks
    WEBUTIL_HOST.NONBLOCKING('cmd /c "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14\winword.exe" C:\tmp\Docs2013.doc');
    3)
    This not works
    space was removed. Docs2013.doc instead Docs 2013.doc and again in quotes
    WEBUTIL_HOST.NONBLOCKING('cmd /c "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14\winword.exe" "C:\tmp\Docs2013.doc"');
    I do not understand why this behavior occurs suddenly
    someone has an idea ?
    thx
    Alfred

    There have been some significant changes in Java 7U21 which will impact the way CLIENT_HOST and WEBUTIL_HOST will now work. We are aware of these changes and are trying to determine how much of the old behavior we can restore. If your issue only reproduces in Java 7U21, feel free to contact Support and mention bug 16686443
    That said, I would recommend using this code in place of yours:
    Declare
         my_cmd varchar2(255);
    Begin
         my_cmd := 'rundll32 shell32,ShellExec_RunDLL '|| :t1;
         CLIENT_HOST(my_cmd);
    End;In the above code, :t1 might be a text field where the user would enter the path and name of the file to open. For example: C:\tmp\Docs 2013.doc
    Alternatively, if you feel the need to hard code the value, it might look like this:
    Declare
         my_cmd varchar2(255);
    Begin
         my_cmd := 'rundll32 shell32,ShellExec_RunDLL C:\tmp\My Directory\test.xls';
         CLIENT_HOST(my_cmd);
    End;This code has been tested on Forms 11.1.2.1 using Java 7U21. The same code should work on Forms 10.1.2.3, but keep in mind that Java 7U21 is not supported for use with Forms 10.

  • WORKFLOW : Task marked as a background to send a mail to ext id not working

    Dear friends,
    I have configured a workflow by creating a subobject of BUS2012 and in my workflow i have created one activity which will send a information mail to approvers of Purchase order on a external mail id.
    I have set the task to be processed in background mode it means this will be processed by WF-Batch user, when i see it in workflow log all the activities are getting processed successfully but im unable to see any mails flowing in SOST tcode.
    When i perform this activity in Foreground mode and assign a external agent to a workflow task everything is working pretty fine and i can see the mail outflow in SOST tcode too but the same is not working in background processing mode.
    please let me know is there any setting which needs to be checked out?
    Awaiting for your positive reply on this!
    Regards,
    Sunny V

    Hii,
    Did you maintain Agent assignment in Background ?.It is a standard Task
    If it is not activated then mail will not be send to External Mail Id.
    First you check whether Agent assignment is activated or not.

  • Creating native MSI bundle that is "per user"-based (not "system"-based)

    I am trying to collect all information in order to create a native MSI bundle that is "per user" based - but failed.
    This means:
    (.) The MSI should install into the user's local directory
    (.) There should be no admin permission required
    When using the default <fx:deploy ... nativebundle="msi" ...>-ANT-element, then the MSI is created "system wide" based, installing in "/Prorgram Files" and requiring an admin permission.
    In the Oracle docu (http://docs.oracle.com/javafx/2/deployment/self-contained-packaging.htm) there is no concrete hint how to create "per user" based MSI files. Maybe, someone already has done this and could tell the imprortant steps...
    THANKS!
    PS: I know - using the .exe-bundling with Inno Setup will create "per user" based installers by default, but I do not want to use .exe if possible

    Try
    <fx:preferences install="false"/>
    although the parameter name doesn't give much indication that it's system vs per user :)
    I checked that the MSI bundler code and it should honor this.
    Let me know if this works (I don't have time to try myself today and am leaving on Holidays for a week so won't be able to check until I'm back).

  • Mac Mail "bounce" feature does NOT work

    Noticed that the "bounce" mail feature of Mac mail will not work. Did a search and found that it isn't working anymore for anyone. Also found several posts here on Apple Discussions, that "bounce mail" is not working, and all of the questions asking why it isn't working, are archived and no answers are allowed. The bounce mail feature was a great tool to reject and send back an email from someone that you didn't want email from. That unwanted sender would get the message that it was an invalid email address, and problem solved. We should absolutely have the right to reject an email from an unwanted sender by blocking reception from their email address. It is not acceptable that we should have to receive emails from a specific sender we are trying to block. Spam coming from faked addresses is bad enough, but when you know a specific unwanted sender's address, we need to be able to bounce and reject their emails! Fixing the Mac Mail bounce feature should be a high priority.

    Making a rule to simply move emails from an unwanted sender (with a real email address) to the trash, is no solution at all. The whole point is to Reject that person's email by bouncing it back to them, with the intention of showing them they have NOT reached a valid email address. The whole point is to STOP their behavior, not accept it. Your suggestion, that I have to allow the unwanted email to come in, for me to have to deal with it, trashing it or otherwise, sounds like the attitude of the spammers.
    Let's not confuse the point here, Apple put the "bounce mail" feature in Mac mail for a reason, and I just want it to work again.
    Bouncing email is not unique to Apple's Mail. There is a RFC specifying how bouncing should be handled. Thomas already explained why bouncing email is not a good idea. Here is the reason quoted from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nondeliveryreport.
    "Today, however, most email is spam, which usually utilizes forged Return-Paths. It is then often impossible for the MTA to inform the originator, and sending a bounce to the forged Return-Path would hit an innocent third party. In addition, there are specific reasons why it is preferable to silently drop a message rather than reject it (let alone bounce it):
    * Heuristically filtered spam. Spam filters are not perfect. Rejecting spam based on content filtering implies giving to spammers a test environment where they can try several alternatives until they find a content that passes the filter.
    * Viruses and worms. Most times these are sent automatically from an infected machine. Since a bounce may contain a copy of the worm itself, it may contribute to its diffusion."
    So using bounce is not a good idea, IMHO.
