Mailmerge pages with numbers multiple tables

How can I create a mailmerge with Pages and Numbers where in the numbers document multiple tables are used (in sepeare worksheets).
It works ok, if I have one table in one document, but as soon as I add another worksheet or table then I am not able to select a table when merging. In the example videos it is included, but the only thing I can find is that I should use 1 table in 1 doc.
I use the formatting rules for one headerrow and no headercolumn.

As far as I know, the merge tool doesn't create 10 documents when the Numbers table contain 10 rows of datas.
It create a single document embedding 10 customized versions of the original document as you may see on this screenshot.

How to set Page break in multiple tables ?

Hi ,
I have 3 tables in my SSRS report . 3 tables have different groups.
All groups are showing in different excel tabs as expected. Also dynamically generating each tab name based on the group name .
But 3 rd table group tab name not generating dynamically but taking 2nd table last group name .
In below example Johnhancock is my last group of table 2. From first group of 3 rd table onwards it will showing as Johnhancock2, Johnhancock3, Johnhancock4 etc. ( Data is correct only issue with tab name )
Note: I have used add a page break after option for all 3 tables . Please suggest if I need to change any settings.

According to your description, you have three tables in a report with page breaks between those tables. When you export this report as excel, you have set the worksheets names showing each group name. Now you find all tabs of the third table shows the last
group name of the second table. Right?
In Reporting Service, when we export a report to an excel file, if we add page breaks for the report manually, then the report will be exported into multiple worksheets based on page breaks, and the report page names determine the name of worksheets. For
testing this scenario, we add page breaks between groups and tables, and put the group name into page name. It works fine when we export it to excel file. So we suggest you check the page name of the third table, make sure the page name is the group name of
the third table. If possible, please post some other detail information about report design. Here we also have a blog for your reference:

On a web page with an editable table, the delete row function no longer works (the little circle with X button)

When you try to delete a row in an editable table using the built-in functions, it no longer works. We use this function regularly and just noticed this problem today. The "create row above" and "create row below" functions work, just not the delete. The delete column button does work however, so it's a bit baffling why this one function does not work. (The pages are located on our internal server so are not publicly accessible but the functionality is built into firefox.)

Same problem here. I found out that when you have a table with only 1 row, it works fine, but when you have multiple rows, it doesn't work on any row.
Micmark, do you have that too?
P.S. I also tried this outside our CMS, by using Firebug to add a contenteditable="true" on a DIV in a normal font-end template, and that has the same problem.

Hi, I'm using the Basic version of Crystal Reports that shipped with Visual Studio 2k5.I'm doing a report with three tables, CQ_HEADER, SO_HEADER and SALESPERSON. Both the CQ_HEADER and the SO_HEADER tables link to the SALESPERSON table via a SPN_AUTO_KEY field. However, I always receive duplicates in my result set, due to the joins made. Here's the query that's produced by CR. Addendum: I've partially been able to solve it.. The information that I'm after is: Salesperson # of Quotes # of Sales #Total Sales (Sum(Total_Price)) #Total Quoted Salesperson is what I group after, and I was able to get correct numbers for # of Quotes and # of sales by changing COUNT to DISTINCT COUNT. However, for the summations I'm still getting duplicate rows. ThanksDavid

I am using 10g version of OWB.I tried using the splitter operator.
I am getting the following error when i use the splitter.
An invalid combination of operators prevents the generation of code in a single implementation language (PL/SQL code, or SQL*Loader code, or ABAP code). For example, you may have included a SQL*Loader only operator such as the Data Generator in a mapping with a PL/SQL implementation type. If you designed the mapping to generate PL/SQL code, an invalid combination or sequence of operators prevents the generation of PL/SQL code in any of the operating modes(set based, row based, row based target only). If the mapping contains an operator that generates only PL/SQL output, all downstream dataflow operators must also be implementable by PL/SQL. You can use SQL operators in such a mapping only after loading the PL/SQL output to a target. Detail is as follows:
PL/SQL set based operating mode: Operator trailer_source_txt does not support SQL generation.
PL/SQL row based operating mode: Operator trailer_source_txt does not support SQL and PL/SQL generation.
PL/SQL row based (target only) operating mode: Operator trailer_source_txt does not support SQL and PL/SQL generation.
Both SQL and PL/SQL handlers are not supported by trailer_source_txt as output
SQL*Loader: Operator SPLIT does not support SQL*Loader generation.

Hi
Splitter can be used ib PL/SQL mappings, but if you use a flat file in a mapping, than it will be an SQLLoader mapping. So I suggest to you to create a mapping which load your flat file into a table, and from this table you load the data into the three table with the spillet in a PL/SQL mapping. Create two mappings.
Or you can use an external table in a mapping with a splitter.

SQL INSERT / SQL UPDATE don't work with form page, don't affect table

The subject line says it all. No matter what I try, my updates on the form don't appear on the report page, which accesses the table. When I look at the table using SQL WORKSHOP, the changes aren't made there either. What am I missing? I have another report page and form page with a different table in the same application and updates in that table work fine. I coded them both the same. What should I be looking at?

How you have created the FORM page? Using FORM WIZARD? Or You have created blank page and after that you have manually created all the form items?
If you have used WIZARD to create form page, then you can see a page process with Automatic Row Processing (DML) type. Here you need can set DML (Insert/Update/Delete) you wish to use on this form. APEX will take care of the rest.
If there is no such process in your page, then you need to create one. You may have one process to do both (Insert and Update) and you can have two sepate processes. I prefer having two seperate page processes (after submit), one for Insert and one for Update.
Now you can make the Insert process conditional so that it only execute when you click button - Create (Add or any similar button you have ) Also make the Update process conditional so that it only execute when you click button - Save (Update or any similar button you have )
Just a quick note - From the above trigger, I can guess you are allowing users to enter Primary Key manually? In my opinion, Primary key should be always system generated using SEQUENCE. Users can only enter BUSINESS KEY (if any) and we should not use Business key as Primary Key.

I am using ADF, I can reproduce in a testcase, but I need time.
If you want, I can cut and paste the jspx page.
However, I have a panelStretchLayout: on top facet I have the master table, while in the center facet I have the detail table.
I have a query component to filtering data of the master table.
I have this problem doing this:
1) create a new record on master table.
2) create some records on detail table (sons of the record of the master table just created).
3) clicking on "find" of the query component.
I have tried to do a master-detail with the HR connection using Departments table (master) and Employee (detail). When I try to delete a departments, it does not work, because I have to delete the employees first, while in my case I want to delete the master and the detail in cascade.

Discrepancy with size between tables..strange..

hey there,
i'm building a header, and i have two tables, one on top of
another. now, in dreamweaver..the space between these two tables is
nil, but when i do a preview, there seems to be a bunch of space
between the two elements (the element on top is an image and the
element on the bottom is typed text, both are within tables). now,
what i don't understand, is how can there be extra space in the
browser when the two tables are slammed against each other in the
program and they look really close together in the program?!? how
do i fix this? and this isn't just some 'little' space..the space
in the internet browser is too noticeable, but it looks great in
DW.

In my opinion, there are three serious problems with Layout
Mode -
1. Perhaps most importantly, it sits between you and *real*
HTML tables,
and fools you into believing that concepts like "layout cell"
and
"autostretch" really mean something. They do not. As long as
you use
Layout Mode, you'll never learn one of the most important
things for new web
developers - how to build solid and reliable tables.
2. Actually, #1 wouldn't be *so* bad, except that the code
that is written
by Layout Mode is really poor code. For example, a layout
table contains
MANY empty rows of cells. This can contribute to a table's
instability.
In addition, if your initial positioning of the table's cells
is a bit
complex,
Layout Mode will throw in col- and rowspans aplenty as it
merges and splits
cells willy-nillly to achieve the pixel-perfect layout you
have specified.
Again,
this is an extremely poor method for building stable tables,
because it
allows
changes in one tiny cell's shape (i.e, dimensions) to ripple
through the
rest
of the table, usually with unexpected and sometimes
disastrous consequences.
This is one of the primary reasons for the final result's

3. The UI for Layout Mode is beyond confusing - many options
that you might
want to use are inaccessible, e.g., inserting another table,
or layer onto
the page.
I can understand the new user's desire to use this tool to

easier,

To make good tables, keep it simple. Put a table on the page,
and begin to
load your content. If you would want a different table
layout, instead of
merging or splitting cells, consider stacking tables or
nesting simple
tables instead, respectively.
And above all, do not try to build the whole page with a
single table!
Luckily, Adobe understands the problems created for the
unsuspecting user
who falls into this trap, and has elected to remove this
feature altogether
from the next version of DW. The time is right for you to
begin working
with tables properly!

ORACLE EXPRESS: build a page with multiple forms linked to one table

im using oravle application express. APEX
i would like to build a page with multiple forms linked to one table (orders) , the page has 4 from each one with different order_id number (depending on filtering), and if the order is prepared click yes for each order and this 'YES' should be UPDATED AND SAVED to each order number in the same table with the press of one button.
i created all the form as (sql query)
and create one update process

i dont know really if i can do that, but it appear hat it actually saving according to order_id number , but not all the time some time it saved the value as "null".

I am no Apex expert, but with a situation as "complex" as yours, have you thought about creating a VIEW that joins these 7/8 tables, placing an INSTEAD OF trigger on that view to do all the business logic in the database, and base your application on the view?
This is the "thick-database" approach that has been gaining momentum of late. The idea is to put your business logic in the database wherever possible, and let the application (Form, Apex, J2EE, whatever) concentrate on UI issues,

Export Tables from Pages to Numbers with AppleScript?

I've hit a stumbling block while trying to use AppleScript to remove a table from pages and paste it into Numbers.
I've found no way to directly identify the table in the document to copy for pasting into Numbers and I've been unable to remove the other information from the document to isolate the table for a select all command.
The easiest thing I can think of is a AppleScript to remove the first set of characters before the table or to explicitly extract tables only from the document.
I've tried all manners of AppleScripts and I can't seem to get it to work. None of the AppleScript text selection commands work to remove the information other than the table.

Try selecting the whole of the contents of the document and then running:
tell app "Pages"
selection
end tell
This will return a list of the selected objects, amongst which you should see something like: table 1 of body text of document id 15373020 of application "Pages"
With that data you should be able to select just that item:
select table 1 of body text of document id 15373020 of application "Pages"
Obviously that's just an example. If you were scripting this, you would most likely work through the list filtering only those objects you want to work with - the tables in this case.

Page Processing with multiple tables

I have been successful in inserting a row into a table and creating the PK using Page Processing. The parent table is called Facility.
I used the following sql to insert a row into the table and now need to add data to the child tables.

Super-scripted Ref Numbers with generated Ref Table (A Glossary?)

Good Morning All!
I have been trying to create a paragraph style that will be applied manually, but when applied Italicizes and adds a sequential super-scripted "reference number". These reference numbers will then be used to produce a table which will sort rows numerically and produce info based on each reference. I will also need this to delete duplicates. I have a remove duplicates script for my ToC and may be able to retrofit it to this, but we'll get to that later. I can single out words with GREP, but without creating my own "parts dictionary" it would be a pain to add a thousand or so part names* to a GREP. I figured the easiest way to do this would be to manually apply a paragraph or character style per instance and then use a script to remove duplicates. If there is a better way to do this I'm open to suggestions.
*Sadly part names aren't always consistent either due to different writers writing styles.
To keep it simple for now I'm wanting it to just produce: Example Row in Table - [Ref # / Blank cell for part number / Part Name (Text that Ref style was applied to) / Blank cell for description]

I'm running into a problem that my super script numbers wont sit right if its done through a paragraph style as it reads the entire paragraph. I need the style to apply to a word or group of words. I tried creating a numbering system like a ToC, but once again that works off of paragraph styles. I can manually apply a character style but it doesn't have any sequential numbering options. For right now I'm fine manually applying the style for each instance and then copy/pasting part number and description. I'm just looking for something to generate reference numbers and the name that coincides into a row of a target table. In the future it would be amazing to have it access the component dictionary (excell doc) I'm painstakingly building to grab the part number(s) and descriptions so I don't have to copy/paste.
I have been tasked with making multiple writers write the same thing. It feels impossible btw. So I have been creating an indesign template that does a lot of the work for you so that the largest inconsistencies are now handled by Indesign and leave no room for user error. This will not only help my older writers be consistent but will lessen the learning curve on newbies. Let me know if there is something differently I could be doing or if anything has worked well for you. I am open to any and all help/suggestions, I look forward to hearing back!

I was hoping that they would continue on through pages, but not documents (for booked instances). That they would be numbered on the fly so that if you moved pages around they would renumber themselves and then you could run a script to fix the order in the table. I have the sequential numbering scheme down for automatic figure box numbering. I just cant figure out the in-text mid-paragraph numbering. What do you have for me MVP?

How do I arrange tables on a page in numbers?

I have multiple tables on the same page in a Numbers document. Unfortunately, the tables are overlapping, so that they are illegible. Is there a way to arrange them, say vertically, so that they do NOT overlap?
Neither the Arrange menu item or the Arrange item in the inspector do this. They both arrange the handles in the upper left corner of each table, but leave the tables overlapping.
Here is my scenario. I have a travel document with three pages, one for a trip template with a single table; one for upcoming trips with one table per trip; and one for trips I have finished, with one table per trip. When I plan a trip, I copy the table from the template into the Upcoming page, and fill in the details. After the trip is over, I drag that table into the "Finished" page. But now I have a jumble of overlapping tables, one per trip, in my Finished page.
I COULD drag and drop each one by hand. But that is horribly inefficient and crude. Isn't there an automatic way to arrange them??

That is an unfortunate answer. My use of the tool is limited by the imagination of the Apple employees who built the examples? Surely it isn't too much to ask that the design elements on a sheet be arrangeable without overlap, so that one can SEE THEM?!
in my case it seems a good design to have tables for upcoming trips and then to archive them somehow. a separate sheet for each trip is clearly a poor design. Moving the tables to something other than numbers is unnecessarily cumbersome.
Two obvious solutions are to switch to Excel or to switch back to the previous version of numbers, both of which would support this workflow.
A Well designed tool does not tie the users hands like this. Is Numbers really incapable of doing an automatic layout of a sheet?

Multiple tables with the possibility of multiple records in each table

I have been trying for a few days now to come up with a CR solution to displaying data from multiple tables. These tables, in some cases, have more then one record that needs to be displayed. This is basically what I am trying to do.....
I am developing a .net web application(vb) using vs2005 and an oracle 10g backend. There is a data entry part of the site that users will enter data related to a property. Other users will be able to search these records and have a list of records returned based on the search criteria. The user then can click on one of these records to view a pop up CR report containing all the data related to that one property. The PropID is passed to the pop up page and is used in the WHERE clause of my SQL statement to bring back only one property. This data can come from as many as 18 tables if all the fields have been entered for this property. I have tried many different solutions to get the data from multiple tables...and have had some that were close to what I need. The best one I have will display data from multiple tables but only one record per table.....which doesn't work in my case since some of the tables have more then one record per table.
Is there anybody that has had success in setting up similar reports?
Does anybody know how I could use the "Group Expert" to group by the tables in my application? I can only figure out how to group within a single table.
It would be great if I could group by table....then just display the record(s) in each table that had the same PropID. I am not sure if the pdf export would show all the data in that situation but it would be worth a try. If fact...maybe I could create a new table called MyTables and just add two colums like MyTableID and MyTableName. Then add all the table names to MyTables that I want to see in the report and add the associated MyTableID value to each table as a new column. I could then group by MyTableID and PropID. Just guessing here.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Your query is not too clear so I'll do my best to answer it broadly.
You mentioned that you have a .NET web application where your users enter data on one screen and then may retrieve it on another. If the data is written in real time to a database then you can create a standard Crystal Report by adding multiple tables. The tables should be linked together using the primary and foreign keys in order to optimize the database query and give you a speedy report. Using unlinked tables is not recommended and requires the report engine to index the tables (it is quite slow).
You also mentioned you have a "PropID" to be used in a WHERE clause. This is a great place to use a parameter in your report. This parameter can then be used in your record selection formula inside Crystal Reports. The report engine will actually create the WHERE clause for you based on the parameter value. This is helpful because it allows you to simply concentrate on your code rather than keeping track of SQL queries.
Now, what Crystal does not do well with is uncertainty. When you design a report with X number of tables the report engine expects X number of tables to be available at processing time. You should not surprise the print engine with more or less tables because you could end up with processing errors or incorrect data. You may need to design multiple reports for specific circumstances.
Regarding the group expert question. I'm not sure how you would/could use the group expert to group a table? A table is a collection of fields and cannot be compared to another table without a complex algorithm. The group expert is used to group and sort records based on a field in the report. Have a look at the group expert section of the help file for more information.
Hopefully my comments have given you a few ideas.

Extract PDF pages with it's actual page numbers...

We have more than 40 of PDF documents each document contain multiple pages. Using Acrobat Professional 7.0 and 8.0 with MAC platform. We have the script to extract the pages and to suffix running numbers with the document name, please find the script below. For example CH01.pdf document total number of pages is 10, but the actual page number starts with 11. So We have to extract each pages as individual documents and the page number will followed by document name with "_" separation, (Eg: CH01_11.pdf). I have tried so many ways to include the page numbers with the document name but i can't.

First of all, replace numPages with this.numPages
Also, this doesn't make any sense:
nEnd : i == numPages - 1
I have tried what you have said above, but it is not working. Its showing the same error (missing ; before statement)in 4th line of the script.
