Maintaining a selection order without refresh

Question

Hello, I have a SelectManyListBox on screen where the user can select many rows at a time and add them to another list box. However, I would like to maintain the order in which each row is selected so that when I add them to the listbox, they are added in the order they were selected. However I do not want to refresh the screen each time the user selects a row. Is there a way I can maintain this order on the JSP and then send it to the bean in one refresh?
i thought about using Javascript to set a hidden value on the page, but I don't know the syntax to obtain the row from the SelectManyListBox that is being selected.
