I Cannon  make appointments in my calendar, because I miss in the right corner above the +.

If the + button does not appear in portrait mode try quitting the Calendar app like this:
Go to the Home screen and double click the Home button. That will reveal the row of recently used apps at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold on the app in question until it wiggles and displays a minus sign. Tap the minus sign to actually quit the app. Then tap anywhere on the screen above that bottom row to return the screen to normal. Then restart the app and see if it works normally.
Alternately you should be able to add an appointment by tapping and holding on the date you want the appointment and an Add Event screen should appear.

  • Ical: won't make all day appointments on my mac but show up in iCloud..Help?

I can make appointments (using my mac air)  in ical if there is a time attached but not all day appointments. The all day appointment does show up in my iCloud calendar and in fact syncs to my iphone and ipad. But can't get it to be visible in ical on my mac air. Can anyone help?

If the old account was or had been upgraded to an iCloud account as you seem to be implying, you should be able to add it back to your mac as a secondary account (system preferences > mail, calendars & contacts. This should cause both accounts calendars to show up in iCal (click the calendar button -top left corner- to confirm this. Then you should be able to copy the calendars across to your new account by following the instructions below.
Create a new empty calendar from the iCal file menu, select which account you want to create it in.
If you have only a few appointments you can move them individually by editing them and changing the calendar in the edit options.
Alternatively you can copy all the appointments in one calendar to another and delete the original.
To copy a calendar ctrl-click on it from the menu that appears when you select the calendar button (top left corner of iCal) and choose export (export it to your desktop for ease)
Double click the exported file and choose the new empty calendar to import them into.
Ctrl-click on the original calendar from the menu that appears when you select the calendar button and choose delete.
I'm guessing the reason your calendars show on your phone is because that account is enabled as a secondary account there.

  • ICal uses up my screen showing grayed-out hours of the night when I do not have appointments - support instructions about Preferences do not work.

iCal has preferences that let you decide how many hours per day you want to see, and which hours of the day you want to make appointments. For example, I need to see 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and I don't need to make appointments for the night. If I specify in my prefs that my "day starts at 7 am" and "day ends at 8 pm," when I look at my screen it still shows me all 24 hours---with nighttime grayed out.
This also happens if I change the number of hours I ask to be shown, in preferences again. For example, if I specify that I want to make appointments for 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., that totals ten hours. Whether I click "Show 24 hours" or "Show 10 hours," I still have those grayed-out, useless nighttime hours taking up my screen and forcing me to scroll when I don't want to scroll. I don't want my day to start at 1 a.m. When I click onto a day, I want to see 7 a.m. at the top of the screen.
I'm on Snow Leopard, iMac intel duo, running iCal 4.0.4 .
Here are the official support directions/instructions for this.
"To change the time range that appears in the main calendar view, choose iCal > Preferences and click General. To change the range of time when you’re normally available each day, choose your daytime hours from the “Day starts at” and “Day ends at” pop-up menus. All times outside that range are shaded in the day or week calendar view.To set the number of hours that are displayed when you view your calendar in Day or Week view, choose a number from the Show pop-up menu."
It mentions these unavailable hours will be "shaded," but my issue isn't whether or not they are shaded (I don't much care) but the fact that I don't want to see them on my screen and be forced to scroll a lot.
I took screen grabs of these calendars and corresponding Preferences settings, but apparently I'm supposed to go into Photoshop and resize them, etc etc, in order to upload them to this forum. Not going to do it. I hope my description above is clear enough.

  • Help with Sync Calendar with Outlook all appointments do not sync..

I am not a super tech but I do have some pretty good skills for a girl, if i do say so myself.... however I am So frustrated.. I need help.
This is my very first public post.. So I hope I give all the info that will help, but if I missed something, please let me know.
    Here is some background info:
    I have a BB Bold
I do NOT use it on an enterprise (network)
I sync my bb with my dell
    Windows Vista (UGH!!!)
Microsoft outlook - Version 6.0.6001 Service Pack 1 Build 6001
My calendar and my contacts are the most important reason I have a bb
    My contacts are FINE
    My calendar is a MESS
I have 2 separate email addresses working though my bb.. For the purposes of his post I will refer to them as
    [email protected]  and
    [email protected]
When I make appointments in my work calendar, I do one of the 2 things to get all my appointments on the BB
Schedule my gmail address as an attendee to the appointment or
Forward the appointment to my gmail address from my work email
When I make appointments directly from my BB I do it by selecting Menu>New = my gmail account defaults as the "send using"
    BB Info:
When I am in the calendar and I select >Menu.Options> Calendars> I have 3 options
[email protected] which has (518 entries)
Device Default  which has (157 entries)
[email protected] which has (429 entries)
When I go to Menu>Options>Advanced Options>Default Services>(CICAL) is [email protected]  it shows that I have the options to select my Gmail OR my .mac address
Here is the problem - this did not used to happen, and I quite honestly didnt realize that my backup was messed up so i have NO idea how long this is going on.
    When I sync with Outlook
There are only 518 appointments that are synced
I cannot get the other 157 (device default) + 429 (mac) to sync with my outlook
Can anyone help me get them all on my gmail calendar? or into my outlook so that I can then sync back with the BB
I do not sync my bb with my mac
Here is what I have tired:
    Screaming at the computer
Screaming in spanish at the blackberry
    ignoring them both
I have restrained myself from throwing both of them against the wall.
    but seriously
I have set the BB desktop manager to do a one way sync > bb to outlook = NOTHING Only the gmail syncs
I have changed the (CICAL)  to my mac address and performed a sync = NOTHING - only the gmail syncs
I am at a loss and would appreciate any help.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi,
We shall then forget about the MAC records.
Outlook contains the 158 records from the Gmail associated calendar.
The default calendar records need to be cleared and restored to the Gmail associated Calendar.
The resulting Blackberry gmail associated calendar will then be synchronized with Outlook to add the former default records
resulting in synchronized calendars on both Outlook and the Blackberry.
Read this over, I suggest more than once. Method three is what we are going to do.
Let me know tomorrow what questions you have with the procedure so we can make sure we are successful.
KB16063 Unexpected results occur when synchronizing with a BlackBerry smartphone that has multiple CICAL service records.
Let me know how it goes!
    Thanks,

  • Appointments made in Outlook on PC go to iPhone Calendar, but appointments made on iPhone do not go to Outlook on PC.

When I make appointments on my laptop, they go to my iPhone calendar--no problem. When I make appointments on my iPhone, they do not go to Outlook on the PC. The sync has worked properly in the past, but then it stopped. Your help would be much appreciated.

  • IPhone "moves" appointments 1 hour early upon sync w/Outlook 2007

This is driving me crazy. When I create an appointment in Outlook then sync to iPhone, it changes the appointment time to one hour earlier on the phone - but the time remains them same in Outlook.
Further, if I create an appointment on iPhone then sync to Outlook it works fine - UNTIL I sync again, then it will shift that same appointment one hour earlier.
Yes, I can trust Outlook for the correct time - but I'm not at my PC 90% of the time. And I usually make appointments months in advance so trying to remember which one is actually correct is almost impossible.
Any help or secret magical formulas for creating appointments would be greatly appreciated!

Don't know if you found a solution but I had a coworker who was having the same issue and we worked out the solution that worked for him.
I wrote it up on my blog: http://weblog.techdad.net/2008/08/27/fix-it-outlook-calendar-and-iphone-calendar -events-hours-not-synched-correctly/
LMK if this fix works for you!

Just got my Mac air and i would like to make a file to store some web addresses for my new business with rodan and fields and I can't do it. Made the file but i cant copy and paste the web addresses in the file to save them. Please help and thank you.

Yes - well you have to make the file in a word processing Application.
You could use TextEdit (it's free) Pages (words only), or Numbers (data base) (they are part of iWorks - and may or may not be free (included) on your machine.  You could use MS Office (it is not free) You could use any Open source word processor that plays well with Office (NeoOffice, StarOffice) they are free.
That's how you create content and copy/paste URLS. Then you save the file to the desktop. If you are going to make more than one file... you make a folder on the desktop and save, or drag the file(s) into it.
You attach it to your e-mail client which will compress it and e-mail it. An excellent reference is to use Help, from the menu bar, also from inside any application. From your library or book store the OS X for Dummies has a lot of useful information (you don't read it cover to cover but look up chapters about what you'd like to do)
You can also make appointments at your local Apple store for individualized help (if a store is nearby)

  • How can I make my e71 stop beeping

The appointments have a default alarm set at 15 minutes before the appointment. What's worse, the alarm entry is not visible when setting an alarm, so the display offers no reminder about this idiotic setting I don't seem to be able to do anything about.
I have even opted to turn off calender alarm sound, willing to sacrifice the alarm functionality just so I wouldn't need to deal with the annoyance, but cannot do that either.
The only way would be to have the phone profile on silent and effectively turn off all sounds - that would include incoming calls. Can't have that.
This is happening only with the 'improved' calendar of the E71, none of my previous nokias going back to mid-90's had the 'feature'. This is unfortunately all too common thing Nokia does - improve what once was a damn near perfect operation and make it practically useless. Sports tracker, my fav app until someone decided the map on two inch screen must be cluttered with the track titles of music I am listening to (It is still usable if I listen to my iPod, instead)
I currently start my every day, going through every appointment and check the alarm is off, and swear that I wait for the next fw update to fix this before I ditch the phone for a lower maintenance one.
Oh... another real annoyance with the E71, if you are listening, Nokia. Why do i have to go through the ritual of turning off flash EVERY TIME I start the camera when ALL pics except the ones taken in near total darkness turn out better without the LED flash.

Yes, I know I can set the calendar off every time I make an appointment.
I try to explain this more clearly.
In all my previous Nokias, the calendar alarm has been off by default. In the unlikely event that I ever needed an audible reminder, I have been able to set it as I set the alarm.
With the E71, this has been reversed: I will have the audible alarm unless I expressly set it Off every time I make an appointment.
The E71 gives no visual reminder about the things having been changed, as the visual alarm edit field is off screen, and I will have to scroll down to see/edit it. Setting up appointments on the move the alarm is not, and should not need to be, the first thing on my mind. The client I am talking to is actually paying for my time, not for me to figure out how my calendar works.
My days are loaded, with short meetings with hardly any time between them, which means that even the default 15 min warning more often than not disrupts a previous meeting. Pointlessly, as I am already well aware about how many minutes I have to take me to the next one.
I want an option in my business phone of that not happening, an option to make appointments with no alert by default. Trust me, if I had two appointments a day, one of which is to gfo shopping with mom, this wouldn't bother me. But as I said... BUSINESS phone. Seriously, if you don't see how that is a problem, you either can afford the luxury of keeping your phone at silent, don't use the calendar very much.

  • Forward by email or sms Calendar appointments

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to forward appointments?
I seriously cannot understand why Apple have failed so miserably to emulate more basic phone features users expect, Bluetooth locked: I cant even Bluetooth my own Mac book for gods sake!!,I cant create a group on the phone I must do it in the Mac book!! What if I didn't have 1?? SMS to groups, I have multiple kids in multiple sport teams where we use it daily, Oh but not me anymore!!. And now it seems I cant make appointments then forward them to the family I made them for. I'm so bitterly disappointed. I thought I did my homework reasonably well before I got this phone but sadly I should have waited for the Sony Erricson W995 released in the last few weeks, as I suspected, instead - better camera, better battery life, good music management & excellent sync software and excellent phone features as well - the full package!! Lift your game Apple.... I cant wait for my contract to expire!

  • Siri will not make an appointment for me.  Huh?

    Hi,
Using iPhone 4S, with 6.1.3 OS.  I ask Siri to make an apointment for me on my Calendar.  We go through all the necessary steps until Siri says: "Are you ready for me to schedule it?"  I say yes; Siri says: "I'm sorry, I'm afraid I can't do that."  HUH?!!?  Not a fluke - I've tried it five times now with no luck.  I'm an iPhone newbie, so...be gentle.
    Thanks for your help.

Okay, so let me get this correct, you're trying to make appointments using Siri?
Lets see if this will help, go to Setting. > General > Restrictions > swipe down to > Calender, is "Allow changes" check marked?

What would make appointments disappear from the calendar?

The same thing is happening to me.  I am sitting here and I put a "test" appt in my Iphone...great it showed up on my tablet and desktop.  I did the same thing from my tablet and then my phone.  Great they all shared then all of a sudden within 3 minutes they all start disappearing.  Even from the calendar on icloud.com.  Where are they going.  I just paid for more space but if this is what is going to keep happening I'll be writing to get my money back real quick.

  • I can't get my ipod to sync with new laptop. I have tried to erase and sync, I have authorized new laptop, and still can't get new songs on ipod. Help

I had to purchase a new laptop, since my old one crased. I downloaded iTunes, and my library came up. I followed the directions given, synced ipod, authorized computer and was given a pop up that stated 25 of my songs could not be transferred.Go to Store, authorize computer and resync. Which I did. When I authorize computer another pop up appears and it states this computer is already authorized. I am getting really frustrated. I have gone to the Apple store several times, had to make appointments as they were to busy to help me then. I show up for appointments to either be told, no appointment appears in their schedule, or they are running over an hour late. Any help would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks

Why can't the songs be transferred to the device?  Is it because they are not authorized?  Were these 25 tracks purchased/downloaded with the same account you have used to authorize the PC/new iTunes library?
Have you seen this article yet?

    Vinayak,
Thanks for your response as you were the only one to respond,   however this site was redone in Muse, and worked in the previous site (which was not created in Muse) whether the user login or not.  The only one who has sign-in capability is the owner of the account the, hence the salon owner.  Her clients had been using the site before to make appointments...the link recently stopped working after it was published.  Is their anyway around this? such as altering the way Muse create hyperlinks?  Could an anchor be used instead,? How would that work? Just grasping for straws and want eliminate possibilities.
    Thanks,

The link https://appointment.bizlinkms.com/?page=appt is to an external site that probably requires a login first in order to access it (and hence the session error). You are able to access that page from a particular machine as you are most likely logged into that site already and hence the cookie exists in your browser that is maintaining the session.
On a quick look, the site's login page appears to be https://system.bizlinkms.com/
Nothing to do with Muse though.
    Thanks,

  • IPod synch - not updating iCal events

Several people have posted that their calendars are not synching to their iPods/iPhones/&c. at all. When I synch my iPod(s) (80GB video), the iCal calendars show up, but using an older database. That's to say that I change and add and delete events on my iCal database, but the iPod does not reflect the changes until weeks later. I have tried backing up iCal, re-synching .mac, resetting synch data, and changing the calendar settings in iTunes from All to Selected Calendars (and then selecting every calendar). I have even reset the iPod and updated the iPod software through several versions, but I still have the same problem. Sometimes after I synch with iTunes, I actually have no calendars on my iPod at all, although resynching seems to take care of that.
I have had this problem for a while (so it's not Leopard's fault) and on more than one iPod (so it's not a problem with a particular iPod). One thing that I have noticed is that the deletion of one instance of a repeating event is never reflected in the iPod calendar. That is not, however, the only problem with the synch, as new, one-off events do not show up, either. Because I need to have this calendar up-to-date whenever I leave the house in order to make appointments during the day, this is an untenable situation. I'm certainly not spending money on an iPhone (or recommending any of these products to anyone) until Apple comes up with a solution for this.

I have the same problems, or sometimes it transfers some of my calendars but not others, although "synch all calendars" is checked. Does anyone know a fix for this?
