Making mobiledevices not turning off the screen

Question

Hi, is there anyway to force a mobile device to not turn off its screen when it doesn't recieve user input?
I've tried to google abit but I really lacked the english words for this I guess ;)
To make it a bit clearer. I've made a couple of midlets that don't take userinput all the time, and what happens is that after a few secs the device turns off the screen, so I have to sit there and press some random button all the time. A bit useless because this one midlet is just streaming graphics through bluetooth.

i haven't tried it, but if i were to give an idea, I'd say setting a new "display" might be one thing that a phone might use to "wakup" the display. So maybe you can continually set a new display, using the current display.
so try something like this in your midlet:

private TimerTask refreshTask;
public void startApp() {

    // set something as your displayable, etc.
    // create a task that refreshes the display of the midlet
    refreshTask = new TimerTask() {
        public void run() {
            myDisplay.setCurrent(display.getCurrent());

    new Timer().schedule(refreshTask, 2000, 2000);
public void destroyApp(boolean b) {
    // cancel the task so it stops refreshing
    refreshTask.cancel();
/** end pseudo midlet **/so that's just my first idea of something to try, let me know it it works, and of course, tweak the 2000 (2 seconds) to whatever you need on that phone to keep the display awake.
