MAM 30 SR3 functional location characteristics - error on mobile client

Hi,
I added a class and a characteristic to a functional location. This is downloaded to the middleware, at least I can find it back in table merep_207.
It is also downloaded to the client if I look into the data of worklist for MAM_030 in merep_mon.
At the client when I go to technical object->FL->characteristics I see an empty description and empty value field and third field in the header says FUNCLOC_CHARACT_EDIT and there is a hyperlink below with same description FUNCLOC_CHARACT_EDIT.
If I click on it I get an error:
Failed calling event handler_InvocationTargetException_ onLoad in com.sap.mbs.mam.techobj.control.CharacteristicEdit.
Component: techobj
View: com.sap.mbs.mam.techobj.control.FunclocDetail
Event: onEditCharacteristic
Error Code: E503
Error Message: com.sap.mbs.core.api.CAFException

Hi,
1. MAM3.0 is only supported with DB. That fact is clearly stated in MAM 3.0 central note. The reason is not only performance: API for File I/O is missing some functionalities that are supported by DB API.
2. Edit characteristics is not allowed for free entry text characteristics. This is definetely wrong and you should open message for support team to fix it. Those charcteristics should be supported for edit as per specifications of SR3. Easy logic: GIS coordinates is characteristics as well, they are free entry and they should be editable from the device. There is a criptic paragraph in MAM3.0 SR3 restriction note though, something about data format (decimal dot versus comma, etc) that you might want to look into as I feel it might be somehow related.
3. Characteristics not edited from the device are removed from the backend. Please check that ALL backend notes are applied (there are tons of them). I remember finding this problem in testing phase and making backend people aware of it. I believe it was fixed, so it should be a note for this somewhere. If you are sure all notes are applied - that is a sure customer message for support team to fix.

    The Mobile client users are having a Strnage Errors
    1)In the Activities Tile one user cannot see the Transaction Type and Category.They are blank.
    Rest of the users are not having any problems.
    2)When a user is trying to change the phone number of the contact person it giveing out error "Error while Saving".
    3)When one of the user is trying to Save a Contact Perosn for  a BP he got the follwoing errors
    "Translation Missing for Frame Work Text
    UI_CONI_STATUSBAR_ICON_TT"
    and "Error Handler in Function FillBOBPSHORT Reached"
    4)When one of the user is trying to click the Advanced Saerch Function in BP Search the Application Crashes.
    All these errors are not common error for all the users.

    Hi Zack,
    Looks to me, these are data errors or improper installation errors.
    There is no common solution for this. You will have to tackle them one by one.
    You will have to debug them to resolve them.
    Like for the 4th one, run UI vba in debug mode, repeate the same operation, application will stop where it is crashing. Analyze the code & see what's wrong.

  • Connection Objects / Functional Location Number ranges Issue

    Number range object: ISU_EHAU is related to Connection Object / Functional Location  creation.
    But my client wants to create Connection Object number and functional Location  number with different number range series number.
    Can any one guide me how to proceed?

    Hi,
    As Connection Object & Device Location are functional locations so you have to be sure to map it to the same structure as defined in PM.
    The structure can be defined in PM through this path:
    Plant Maintenance and Customer Service -> Master Data in Plant Maintenance and Customer Service -> Technical Objects -> Functional Locations -> Create Structure Indicator for Reference Locations/Functional Locations                                                                                                    
    Here you can define your own edit mask for your structure for the functional location.
    according to the error message you got the Edit mask defined in your system must be XXXX-XXX-AA-NN.(kindly Check).
    X means you can enter both number and letters.
    A means only letters can be entered.
    N means only numbers can be entered.
    So try something like 1ABC-1A-QW-77(again check with the old number range that was defined)
    You can change the edit mask to 'XXXXXXX......XXXXXXXX'.(full field filled with X).
    and then I guess you can use the number range you have defined(as you wrote above) in the Connection Object number range(Object : ISU_EHAU)
    Kindly revert back for any clarifications.

  • Requirement of functional location

    Hi friends
    Please clarify about the below issue
    1. Client is supplying the equipment to customer as a rental , sale.Once the delevrey is over they usually installing the equipment to thier functional location. For this use actually we defined the functional location as customer location(city) name. Now the issue is if the customer is moving to different location is required to create new functional location? If so what we need to do for old functional location?
    2. The client usually receiving the serialised material (machine) from supplier and then selling /renting it to customer. However they will not provide the services If they sold the machine to customer. If any repair the client will recive the equipment from customer and sent to supplier (if warrnty) or sent to sub contractor (if non warranty). Both the time they follow the procurement (PO) process. For non warranty repair they raise the billing agianst the customer by sales process.  Now tell me is required to create the equipment master ?

    The process is clearly explined in the previous posts . In addition to that
    1. For each sales ( Delivery ) create equipment and do the installation at functional location here the Fuctional location is same as your customer premises. so incase you are making Notification you will have all the details and also partner details . If the location is changing and you will know only at time of complaint generaintg you can think  of changing  the location data through cuszomization before  registering the complaint .
    2. If youn want to track warranty and need more controll over your services you must create eqipment master .

  • Can't send im to lync mobile client after a period of chating

    Thanks for your help first.
    I'm setting Lync 2013 server, all internal lan function are working fine, except mobile client.
    I've setup edge, reverse proxy (using IIS), FE, BE server.
    For IM between between desktop lync client, it is working fine.
    For IM between mobile lync client and mobile client with desktop lync cleint, I found the following issue:
    - between mobile lync client and lync desktop client: The IM function is working sent between both party, no matter it is initial send from mobile or desktop client, but after a random period of time, may be 5 mins or 7 mins or 10 mins, the desktop client
    will not able to send IM to the mobile client but the mobile client still able to send IM to desktop client.
    - for between lync mobile client
    the issue as above.
    - between desktop lync client
    no such issue found
    I've trouble shoot this issue a lot but still can't the root cause?
    Do you have any idea?

    I know that when I testing using my mobile phone, my 3G network provider will continuous change my mobile ip address after a period time, does this behaviour will affect Lync server to find the mobile device?
    are there any method will Lync server know what the mobile client status and ip address  that let Lync server can find the mobile device effectively?

    Hi,
    Would you please tell us which edition of mobile did you use (Android, IOS or Windows Phone)?
    As IPhone and Windows Phone need push notification function but Android Phone doesn’t need.
    If possible, you can test with two Android Phone to check if the issue happen with push notification function.
    From your description above, it seems that you use 3G network on mobile to connect Lync mobile client. Please check if the issue cause by IP address of mobile, you can change network to a WIFI to have a test.
    Also, please double check if the needed ports open as Edwin provided above.

  • Where to get ADF Mobile Client Extension?

    I could not find it anywhere...
    I am using jdev 11.1.1.3.0
    I tried using my jdev -> check for updates -> Official Oracle Extension & Updates -> ADF Mobile Client - Developer Preview is not available version 11.1.1.3.37.56.63
    But it prompted me to input username and password....which I never succeeded to logged in.
    Can someone point out the url location to download ADF Mobile Client?

  • Runtime error while opening stucture tab in Functional Location..

    Dear All,
    Whenever I'm trying to open the structure tab of functional location I'm getting the runtime error and the message is as follws..
    Run time error  TIME_OUT
    Time Limit Exceeded
    The program " SAPLIE01" has exceeded the maximum permitted runtime without interruption and has therefore been terminated
    Error Analysis
    After specific time,the program is terminated to make the work area available to other users who may be waiting
    I did not understand the reason for it....
    Any can throw light on this...

    Dear
    This problem is occuring due to your transactions has so many datas in output. So that system is providing the error. In each sap log in you can control the maximum idle hours at Option header menu at Main menu.
    Else you get the Abaper+Basis for the help. There is no error in functional side for sort out.

    I am uploading the master data of functional location through LSMW .I had completed all the steps except "Run Batch Input Session".
    In that step it is showing as functional location already exists, after this error the remaining functional locations are updated in sap or it will stop total transaction by  this error???
    how can u upload the remaining in to sap by skipping already existed one????

    The  menu patch are now visible - but I get error message "Objekt PM_MASS_TECH_OBJECTS is not maintained"

  • Error in creating functional location

    Hai all,
    My struc.indicator is XXXX-XXXXXXXXXX-XXXXXXXX.
    I have created the functional locations till the third hierarchy level.Also i created the user status and assign this profile to the functional lcoation named  XXXX-XXXXXXXXXX
    Based on the above settings, i have done the transactions also by changing the user status from one to another in the above said functional location.Later i decided that this user status is not relevant for this and i cancelled the assignment  in the functional location and in the OIBS Object types.
    Even after removal of assignment, still the assignment of status profile to the funtional lcoation is showing in the IL02.
    Now i couldnt able to create the new functional location and system is throwing the following error.
    No status object is available for FL  #1
    Message no. BS001
    Diagnosis
    When trying to read the status of an object (FL  #1), a system error occurred: For object number TM0000000001IF there is no status object.
    Procedure
    Please contact your system administrator.
    Now my questions are
    1.How to permanently delete the assignment of userprofile still showing in the functional location even after cancel the assignment .
    2.How to eliminate the above said error

    1.I am using IE02 for insall the equipment.
    2.This is happening every time and also i tried for another functional location category and structural indicator too.
    3.I am getting the same error messages whenever i am trying to create the fucntional location.
    4.I changed the user status of the F.Loc and again i tried the reinstalling the equipment.No change observed.
    Also, Finally i cancelled the assignment and deleted the user status profile itself.Still its not working .
    Since i am concentrationg on the other part, i couldnt continoulsy do the trouble shooting.
    Any other suggestions.

    Check the Valid on date of your function location on which you are trying to install and then check the date on which you are trying to install the equipment.

  • Adding Characteristics to Functional locations

    I have a LSMW that creates Functional locations. When I get to adding characteristics, while recording the LSMW, I find that the program acts differntly than whnen using IL01 or IL02. When IL02, when I click on Charactertisics, the class type is already filled in. After that, once I select the class. I then get a list of characteristics.
    When recording the LSMW, I have to select the class type then the class. After that, I get an empty list of items.
    Can anybody tell me how I can add characteristics to a FL (either via LSMW or a Bapi)

    Hi,
         I agree with the point which sunil says.
    Also one more thing you have to commit using BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT. Then only the data gets saved.
        Also if you want to create the characteristics for the function location, you have to use the bapi BAPI_OBJCL_CREATE and for update use BAPI_OBJCL_CHANGE & then use commit.

    I'm adding the classification to the fuctional location, When i save the functional location it is poping me this information.
    User exit ZXCLFU02: Run program RCCLUKA2 to activate table INOB
    When i run this program RCCLUKA2 tried to run as per the information provided in the Help.
    When i execute this program for class type 003-Functional location i dont get any results.
    still the problem persisit, If any one has come across this problem please let me know to solve this issue.

  • Error in 2LIS_17_I0NOTIF for functional location

    Hi,
    I am activating the standard contet for DSO 0PM_DS02 and it gets the data from DS 2LIS_17_I0NOTIF and 2LIS_18_I0NOTIF.
    I have a field in DS as TPLNR(Functional loc.) and it has a SS Conv Routine as TPLN at BI level.
    When data is loaded into BI I am getting Functional location data in weird format for example : ?0100000000000000026 every functional location record is preceeded by '?' and when I check in the RSA3  of source system it shows dara in this format : T002-S01-U01-TG -GENSYS
    I dont know how this discrepency is coming.
    I have checked the sap note 801606 but its not of a much help.

    I jsut installed that infoobject (0FUNCT_LOC) in my system to solve your query and found out that conversion routine is BWTPL by defualt i guess in your infoobject its selected something different.
    Please give a try to it and also double click on that coversion routine and cehck what it says.

    In mci7 i m trying to look at the breakdown of equipments functional location wise by entering t he floc field. on executing it i m getting no data availabe whereas when i was doing it for individual equipments the results were comin fine. How can i see the floc wise breakdown of equipments?

    Hi Abhishek,
    With MCI7 or MCJB(PMIS)Equipment)/MCJC(PMIS:FLoc) u can analyse those breakdowns which are specifically made either for equipment or functional location.
    Do one thing. First in customization in set field selection for notifications,  make the equipment field "input" from "required". This will allow you to make a notification on a FLoc w/o entering an equipment. Make 2 notifications on this FLoc and complete them. Pls. dont forget to check the "Breakdown" indicator in notification. Then run ur analysis reports MCI7 or MCJC. u'll get the MTTR/MTBF.
