Requirement of functional location

Hi friends
Please clarify about the below issue
1. Client is supplying the equipment to customer as a rental , sale.Once the delevrey is over they usually installing the equipment to thier functional location. For this use actually we defined the functional location as customer location(city) name. Now the issue is if the customer is moving to different location is required to create new functional location? If so what we need to do for old functional location?
2. The client usually receiving the serialised material (machine) from supplier and then selling /renting it to customer. However they will not provide the services If they sold the machine to customer. If any repair the client will recive the equipment from customer and sent to supplier (if warrnty) or sent to sub contractor (if non warranty). Both the time they follow the procurement (PO) process. For non warranty repair they raise the billing agianst the customer by sales process.  Now tell me is required to create the equipment master ?

The process is clearly explined in the previous posts . In addition to that
1. For each sales ( Delivery ) create equipment and do the installation at functional location here the Fuctional location is same as your customer premises. so incase you are making Notification you will have all the details and also partner details . If the location is changing and you will know only at time of complaint generaintg you can think  of changing  the location data through cuszomization before  registering the complaint .
2. If youn want to track warranty and need more controll over your services you must create eqipment master .

    How do i make the Functional Location as a Required field for a particular Notification type.

    2) Click 'Influencing' button
    3) Double-click 'Notification type'
    4) Input your notification type on 'Contents' field, then enter
    5) Select 'Required' for functional location

  • Functional Location

    Hi,
    Client is having lot of moving Equipments. So then he want that when production person should create notifiaction, he should enter the location also to identify the location of perticular machine like welding machine. For fixed machines , that will be installed at functional location.But what about  moving machines. Can i control it with any exit. Means when equipment status inst, system should fetch from Functional Location or else.

    I hope this can be done for your case...
    Create New Equipment category for moving equipments.... You can create notification with respect to equipments... thats enough... in other case.. if u require a functional location... then create one functional location EX : Maintenance Room etc... Assign all the moving equipments to this functional location...
    You can get the functional location datas from here... so notification will have a functional location...
    Normally for moving equipments... Say Equipment A and B is working in one functional location Z for five days... but equipment A will be used in another functional after 3rd day... in such case... you need to assemble and dismantle the functional location, once the work is started and completed... you need to take care of these things...
    By this.. you can track the usage of equipments at different functional location

    Your query is not clear, can you please explain your requirement.
    Functional location is available in WBS Element which you can see it in the Assignments Tab from CJ20N.

  • Is required Functional location

    Hi Guys
    There is small consfusion about the solution.Actually the client receiving thier own(rented) equipments, customer equipments for servicing. For own equipments ,If its under warranty they do the services and get the claim from supplier. Unless no warranty they do services and charge to customers.Customer equipment they sent to some third party to get the job done and then charge the cost to customer accordingly.
    Here my query is that, required to mainatain the functional location to keep the repair equipments ? Is needed the maintenance plant ? How to track the warrnty repair costs and non warranty repair costs seperately?
    Please have your suggestion.

    I feel, Functional location may not be required. You can use location field for that purpose. As service includes spare parts delivery as well, create one miantenance plant same as planning plant. you can create different storage location based on the location.

    HI joshita,
    I had a similar issue in the past where i wanted to attach permit to an order based on some characteristic of functional location at user exit 'IWO10002 - Customer check for order release'.
    This will solve your purpose during release of the order.
    You can also use the exit 'IWO10009 - Customer Check for 'Save' Event', this will check irrespective of the status of the order.

    We are implementing PM/CS module in Ice Cream Mfg. Co. Here my client purchases deep freezer and send to various distributor locations in all over India by doing some commercial agreement. In this up to the one year deep freezer is asset of my client then after one year it is asset of distributor.
    Kindly go through following points & how this can be mapped in SAP PM/CS module.
    1) After purchasing of deep freezer my client (Ice cream mfg. co.) send this to various distributors. They give deep freezer to distributor for one year which on Free of Cost basis. In that some maintenance is taken place, which is carried out by client (Ice cream mfg. co.) service technician. This maintenance is also carried on free of cost basis. Once one year gets completed they sell out to distributor.
    So that becomes a distributoru2019s asset.
    2) After one year what ever maintenance is taken place which is reported to client (Ice cream mfg. co.) then client sends technician to distributor location. He carries maintenance & charged for the same. Which may include some material cost or spares cost.
    3) In this scenario can I use functional location category as u201CS - Customer system u2013 standardu201D for creating functional location. Also confirm, can I create all Distributor or Dealer location will be as functional location.
    4) Whatever deep freezer is installed at distributor location, those deep freezer can I create as Equipment.

    1a.You may use customer consignment process  to maintain the Eqiupment in your stock.
    1b.Create another sales order and deliver to the distributor from Consignment Stock
    Service and Maintenance would be standard process
    2) After one year what ever maintenance is taken place which is reported to client (Ice cream mfg. co.) then client sends technician to distributor location. He carries maintenance & charged for the same. Which may include some material cost or spares cost.
    Service and Maintenance would be standard process. You may also execute a Service contract between you and Distributor for servicing and maintenance

    My need is to create a PARTNERS for the FUNCTIONAL LOCATION.
    LET ME DESCRIBE IT.
    WHEN I AM CREATING A FUNCTION LOCATION USING IL01, AS I ENTER A FUNCTIONAL LOCATION AND PRESS ENTER IN THE NEXT SCREEN.
    AND
    I NEED TO ENTER THE PARTNERS FROM THE DROP DROWN MENU  GOTO ->PARTNERS
    WHICH TAKES ME TO THE NEXT SCREEN WHERE I NEED TO FILL THE INFORMATION IN THE TWO FIELDS : FUNCT & PARTNER.
    I need a partner for the functional location that i mentioned above.and i need to upload that information in through Emigall.
    So my query was that can we customize that partner for this functional location and if yes, what should the constraints,

    I have a functional location with a equipment list. I have to create a maintenance plan that affects to all the equipments.
    All the equipments have to be controlled with the same parameters.
    How can I act?
    Could I create an unique maintenance plan to the functional location or could I have to create a maintenance plan for ech equipment?
    How can I check that all the equipments are controlled?

    it depends on your requirement only for example if you cost analysis is based on FL only ,then create one maintenance plan for that FL and attach the equipments in the object list ,hence once the call object is generated you can see the list of the equipment for maintenance activities,the cost incurred will be reflected to the FL
    OR other thing is if all the equipments are to be maintained at regular interval with same parameter then create a maintenance plan with several maintenance item,in which system will create a call object for each maintenance item,drawaback is if you change any parameter ,then it will affect all the maintenance item attached to it

                     I am working on a requirement to display the Functional Locations  in a heirarchical order for a given input Functional Location from table IFLOT. This is to be done by selecting all functional locations with the same String Indicator and the next lower heirarchy level  for a given functional location.
        The above procedure is to be done upto 2 levels.
    For eg  .
    Input given:  AA (Functional location  with heirarchy XX-NN-XX) 
    Then , my report should display
    Level 2      Level 3
    AA-22       AA-22-BB

    Hi,
    When you are fetching the data from IFLOT
    first table TNAPR field.
    For each TNAPR you have to check Superior FL(TPLMA) field repeatedly till all the below levels have been fetched.
    So the IFLOT select should be in a loop pass.
    After fetching all the Levels of Values for FL, then you can put them in a string by concatenating as per your requirement and display.

    As per Application help, ABC indicator signifies:
    An indicator that is assigned by the procedure of ABC analysis.
    The following ABC indicators are possible:
    A - Important
    B - Less important
    C - Relatively unimportant
    According to these criteria, "A" materials are those materials that are of greatest importance for the production operations of a company.
    Examples of use for ABC indicators are vendor master records, material master records, and master records of technical objects.

    I am using LSMW to upload Functional location Task lists Header & Operations in T-code IA12, for this i am using the Standard program IBIP (Object -> 480).
    All required fields are in the standard structures apart from Operation QM Data, Recording view -> ERFSICHT & Inspection point Completion -> QPPKTABS (see attached screen shot).

    Generally, for all kinds of task list (Maintenance, Quality as well as Production), I tend to use BDC programs by which all the fields can be addressed. In standard, there are certain fields which might have got avoided for certain reasons.
    So, I suggest you to look for some other options available.
