Man hour cost

Hi All,
Could you please let me know the best practice to calculate man hour cost in mainteance order.
Finance team define the activity price rate using t-code KP26 based on what ? If it is based
on employee salary posted to a cost center,then at the time of settlement of maintenance order's
man hour cost ,again we are posting the cost to the equipment cost center .May be that equipment
belongs to same cost center where salary was posted ,so we are posting two times same cost .
Can anybody please clarify my doubt ? Thanks in advance .

Man hour cost nothing do with salary paid to resource.Its business understanding as per their experience what are the rates resource belonging such as if some one hire from outside firm rate will be more so business decides the rates in accordance with rates which is charged for outside resource.So internal resource may have less rates compare to outside resource.also how much work complex and trunky work involve for activity type will also play imp role while deciding the rates.so summarily its just way how the FICO or Maintenance Manager would like to have rates per resource based on activity type.

Hi there,
I am using Microsoft Project Standard 2010.
Within some elements of my schedule I would like to weight by man-hours, within some by material and within some others again by cost.
Also I would like to manually adjust the the weighting on the highest level of my schedule manually. E.g. WBS 01 20%, WBS 02 30% and so on.
By now I have only found out about how to weight by "Work"; putting in man-hours and then using the weighted %Work Complete.
But how about the other above mentioned weightings?

For work type resources the Work field is essentially man-hours and it sounds like you figured that out. For material resources, the metric is defined by the material label and the standard rate per the material label (e.g. "bricks" at $1.00/brick). Weighting
by cost is something you must "back" into via the quantity. Cost type resources are of course direct cost entries. Is that what you mean by "some others"?
Now the question comes, what exactly is your intent with regard to adjusting the weight at the highest level? Are you trying to set up the initial plan to achieve a certain man-hour and cost budget, or are you trying to achieve something else?
Although it may appear that you can "weight" your schedule's man-hours by entering a value in the % Work Complete field at summary level, that is not the intent of that field, nor the best use for it. You will not be able to do a similar thing with the cost
field. Summary lines are intended for summarizing the data of the subtasks under them, not for rolling data down to subtasks.
We need to better understand what you are trying to accomplish (i.e. you end goal), before we can give you much guidance.

Man-Hours Estimation template for BW objects

Hi,
I tried to search for specific templates relating to Man-Hours Estimation for the development of BW objects like Extractor programs,datasources, infosources , Info Providers , Queries , Web reports etc. But I was not that successful.
It would be great if anybody helps me in finding/making such template or the root/means(Links or documents) of creating the template.
I'm sure everyone uses it in the projects.But looking for an optimized,easy-to-use, close-to-reality estimation template.

for our tasks concerning our BW-SEM system we use an Excel list with the following columns: Area (e.g. data basis, operation,...), No. (serial number), Category (e.g. to-do, point at issue), Error(E)/Revision(R), Date of Admission, Description (e.g. technical name of BW object), Priority, Responsibility, Contact Person, Expense (man hours), Status (e.g. open, in process, done), Next Activity from, Date of Completion, Remarks.

SAP Transction to see the Man Hours/ Order

Hi Experts,
In process Order we had a standard Value Man Hours. Is there any Standard Transaction through which i can see the man hours per Order.
Or
Any body having any ides about the BADI. So through BADI I can fetch the field of man hours and see the output in COID.

Chk the Std report - COHVPI with Operations in the list and Profile as Standard Profile. In the change lay out select the fields relevant for the activities (Confirmed activ. 1 (ILE01))

Cost Per hour, Costs per route not updating in S114 structure

Dear PM Guru's,
i am using MET unit system for vehicle consumption analysis. After completion of measurement documents and material issuance through IFCU, i checked the MCIZ report , but there i could not find the value of Costs per Hour, Costs per route information. I am requesting you all please guide me where i did the mistake either in "Configure measurement document updation" or calculation method?
I am eagerly waiting for replies.

Its not possible to give any specific section where it might have gone wrong. Suggest you to check the complete configuration under Settings for Fleet Management. Also check the configuration in IMG - PM & CS - Information Systems - Configure Measurement document update

How to view man hours in MS Project 2013

I have created a sample project plan in MS Project 2013 with 3 resources. Some tasks are running in parallel while others are one after another. I am using standard calendar which is 8 hours a days, 40 hour a week.
How do I know man hours of my project plan? Is there some view available looking at which I can know the man hours of my project?

assuming default settings, you should do two things:
Add column Work to your view
Display Project Summary task: tab Format, enable check box "Project Summary Task".
This will give you total of hours (Work) for your project in line 0.

First check with functional team and Get detail info related to those reports like Logic for each field , what are the field we need to display in Reports and those fields relevant Base table information
then it is easy to create report.
Just telling report name and finding relevant info-provider with report logic its very difficult .

After 30 man hours spent on trying to get everything in sync:

I have learned that:
1/ the data on iCloud has to be considered the data base that is in control.
2/. Shut down other devices that are using iCloud. They will continue to sync while you are trying to clean up your calendar entries and contacts.
3. Most of the calendar duplicates are not duplicates, but are the same appointment in different time zones. If you look at your calendar entries in outlook with the list view, you can see the different times.
4/. The only way to get rid of the duplicates is to login to your iCloud account using Safari. I found the week view the easiest to work in. it is as low and tedious process, but it does work. If you have another windows device, you can open up outlook and watch the duplicates go away.
5/. The best thing to do is the delete all of your contacts and calendar entries in all of your windows devices. Thia can be done by looking at the entries in the outlook list view and doing a control A followed by a delete. This was the most frightening step, because I have always considered my outlook data to be the source data for other devices. I did backup all of my outlook date using the export command. I may never use the backup, but I feel more comfortable knowing that it exists somewhere other than iCloud.
6/. Tasks works for me as is. therefore, I didn't delete the tasks.
7/ I still can't get my me.com email to work in outlook. I will just get that on my iPad and iPhone until Apple fixes that mess.

it is cost center activity price we specify in kp26 at the time of pm order confirm it will confim the activity quandity price will from planning area only, so for salaries in primary g/ls already captured, if we consider secondary it may double booking

Order settlement cost ( Activity cost) can we consider for financial report

I am in port Implemetation as per their senario financial reports based on cost center hierarchy,
for minisrial report requirement, they submitting Operational wise nothing but cost center heirarchy wise
for Pm order settlement Man hour cost based on kp26 computed cost converted actual at the time of confirmation. At the time of settlement to concern cost center is debited but primary cost booking for (man hour) salaries not deducting the primary cost element. Here is salaries and manhours both is apprearing in the cost center. My client requirement is based manour activity cost deducted in salary primary element, they want that process. After Order settlement based on amount we can deduct concern intial cost booking cost center to Order settle cost center.
Please suggest and PM order cost affect in cost center in primary booking and after order settlement

when we settle PM order Activtiy cost (Manhours) based on the salaried booked in primary cost element,we assume per hour man hour cost and specify in kp26 based on the activtiy cost planning system picks cost and at time of order settlement it will settle concern cost center.
intially we booked salaries in primary cost not thing but salaries a/c and once again we are settling the same salary assumption cost to cost center ...
when we go for cost center report Initial salary a/c booking Administrative cost center and now production cost center with activity cost with secondary cost element ....so problem is both cost centers are debiting for the same salaries( activity cost) but my client want cost center report all including primary and secondary cost element total balance.
Please resolve my problem it very critical

salaries cost booked in administrative cost center with primary cost element salary a/c
but Activity type man hour is meant for per hour salary cost. we can specified in kp26
so when we take cost center report, we get salary amount and activity cost in admin cost center and product cost center for the same salary amount... for financial report requirment, if we use cost center report the salay amount appeared twice.
Please explain the activity cost against salay amount ..

Quiery for Financial Period

Hi All
I have some doubts which my client encountered. pls give your valauble suggestions on this.
We have just closed our Dec08 a/c.
Normally, we have to perform balance carry forward and carry forward customer vendor balance before we start the 2009 data entries.
Our company has changed the financial period to 31 March instead of 31 December.
Therefore, the financial data for statutory audit will be from 01Jan08 to 31Mar09.
We urgently need your advice on the following:
1.Please advise what are the procedures and areas we have to change due to the change of financial period
2.When should we change the financial period setting in SAP? Now or after March 2009 closing?
3.Should we perform the carry forward customer vendor balance before we capture Jan 2009 transactions?
4.Should we perform balance carry forward before we capture Jan 2009 transactions?
Pls advise on above issues.

PM Order, cost and key figures

I have created and configured a new PM planning plant, cost center, work center, pm types and all that usual of PM requirement, but still I think something is missing in in the ingredient because when I try to creat a PM order and assign a bunch of operations with man hours to it, I discovered that there is NO cost and key figures showing...basically the estimated cost show $0.00. In other Plant it shows correct est cost.
Any help will greatly appreciate with rewarding points.

COst in order operations will get summarised under cost tab as labour/internal cost provided-
1.Activity rate is maintained for activity via KP26 for cost centre
2.Cost center is entered into work centre master data.
3.Value category maintained correctly for cost element group where cost elemnt for internal cost is within this group.
In your case it seems missing link is activity rate maintenace.

Hi,
Secondory cost is a re allocation of Primary cost. It should not be considered if you are considering primary cost. Secondary cost is used for analysis and should not be confused with Primary cost
Ex. Cost gets collected to cost centers, The activity is a carrier which carries cost to Process/ production order. So that doent mean that the cost is gernerated twice once you book the financial and second when you acutally allocate the cost.
In controlling we allocate the cost in a more meaningful way to get the required analysis which will support the decision.
So both the cost should not be considered
