Manual firmware download and installing

I have Nokia 5800XM, and want to update it to the latest firmware version. But there is a problem. My internet connection is very poor and Software Updater can't download firmware fully, before my internet crashes(it happens once per hour) Also this stupid program has no resume download function.  So is there a way to download firmware manually via normal ftp or http link? and then start over Software updater, so it can start updating, not downloading?
thanks.
P.S please, dont offer me going to local nokia service centre... i'm livig in Latvia, and here's a very stupid ppl. they even don't understood me, what i've wanted.( "this phone is very new..blahblahblah, we dont understand what you want...blahblahblah.. we can't do anything...")
thanks again.

Hm) you really thinking that i'm so inattentive, that i dont knew about it? ) i've tried already that. i have v11 and he says, that there's no updates.... grr(
thanks to unknown force, that made my internet stabile for 2 hours. i have updated my phone already. But i must admit, that this NSU is veeeeeeery buggy and there's a lot more that need to be done,to improve this absolutely idiotic program. When NOKIA understands, that they must make working programs, and not buggy-Microsoft-alike-programs-for-noobs. gr(

I downloaded and installed the: Mac mini EFI Firmware Update 1.6 on my mac mini running 10.8.1, was I correct in doing this ?
I didn't see this update come up in "Software Update"
If I was not meant to install this update, would it cause ANY damage at all to my mac ( this is my second as I dropped the first )
If I were to re-install ML would this fix any errors that this may have caused ?
The bottom of the page I link to says:
Boot ROM or SMC Version Information: MM51.0077.10
But when I click on "About this Mac" it says:
    Boot ROM Version:          MM51.0077.B10
      SMC Version (system):          1.75f0
What does the additional "B" mean?
My mac mini is the Mid 2011 Model.
I am sorry if I am sounding super paranoid about this, but I don't want to have caused any permanent damage.

    Hello,
It's somewhere between almost impossible & impossible to install the wrong EFI Update with all the checks it does!

Not sure what the B means.
If I were to re-install ML would this fix any errors that this may have caused ?
No, Firmware is unaffected by any OS change or re-install.

  • Download and install the updates manually

I have just purchased Photoshop CS6 and ran the updater from within Photoshop. I know some of the updates worked but not all. So I ran it again 3 or 4 attempts now have failed with this message:-
It has failed to install -
    Extension Manager 6.0.6 Update
    with the error message -
    Installation failed. Error Code: U44M1P7
I have found a solution on the forum-
Download and install the updates manually. Go to http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates and download the update that you are trying to install.
There is no update available there which refers to Extension Manager 6.0.6 Update
I opened the Adobe Application Manager and run it for updates, it reports I'm good - no updates!  But when I then try for an update from within Photoshop I still get the same message telling me I need to instal ExtensionManager 6.0.6 Update
I have tried to find the error log from within my system - but failed misserably (I am on Windows 7-64)
So please, where do I go from here?  Do I need Extension Manager? What does it do? Is it vital I install this update?

Something really weird with the latest update for us poor perpetual license users.
Tried to install the upate and received a bunch of error codes U44MP17 on the first try, U44MP27 on the second (go figure why the error code changed) then tried the manual update - that failed as well arrgh!!!!
Now checking for updates, Help/Updates it tells me that the only update outstanding is ACR8.1 - weird I thought as about is reporting 13.0 - so checked the binaries and Photoshop.exe (64 bit) shows a date of 6/11/2013 so although I received errors it looks like the update maybe, sorta took.
The other binaries with the 6/11/13 date are
    AdobeOwl.dll
    AdobePDF.dll
    AlignmentLib.dll
    AGM.dll
    Cooltype.dll
    TFKGEOM.dll
All works OK but a tad confused as to why this may have happened - but given the robustness of AAM maybe I am not surprised.
Holding off with the ACR8.1 update until next week, I have a wedding shoot tomorrow - cannot afford to fall back or reinstall anything
So can anyone confirm that my update really took?
So Trevor, what is so special about Monday?
    Mike
PS checked the 32 bit binaries and they have a different set of binary updates
    TFKernal.dll
    PSArt.dll
    AGM.dll
    image_compiler.dll
    PSViews.dll
    AlignmentLib.dll
    CIT.dll
    Photoshop.exe
    Cooltype.dll

    The last update failed on
my window 7 home prermium pc, resulting in me having to try it manually download and install,
this also failed leaving my I tunes not working, I tried restore back to a
safer date, but every time it tried to update it failed. eventually it told me
to delete and reinstall, this fails due to the apple mobile device service
failing to start, and asking me if I have sufficient privileges to start system
service, I have tried all suggestions on iTunes page, ie delete everything to
do with apple, and start as administrator, nothing works, help please

I too have tried the latest iTunes (12.1.1.4) in Win7. I did a search for latent drivers as you noted but found none. I am glad it worked for you - I'm still no-joy at this point. I'm able to install AMDS over and over again, without issue - it just doesn't start then iTunes launch fails with Error 7. I have to manually remove it.
I am able to connect my iPhone via USB cable and access my photo storage on the phone. I am just not able to install iTunes anymore. I have attempted resolution to this issue for almost two months now. Until that time, I was content with what was installed. It was only when the proverbial update box appeared that I attempted to 'update' my iTunes. WHAT A MISTAKE putting blind faith into an Apple request to update. I SUGGEST NOT TO UPDATE YOUR ITUNES IF IT IS RUNNING PROPERLY!
I realize now, once again I might add, my reliance on software provided by others. It's like anything else, I shouldn't rely on just one method for anything. Time to search for a more pleasant alternative than Apple. Truly, when it worked, it was good at its job, but now that I am wasting time I am looking seriously at upgrading to another type of smartphone and media management software. Way too much trouble for anything as simple as this should be. I wonder, is this a result of another feud with Microsoft?

  • HOW TO DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL PREVIOUS FIRMWARE FOR ...

Pleae help on how to solved the problem. Before the update, I can able to record programs on my Live TV Subscription, particularly the myTV  DVBH program. But after the update, the record function on the Options of Live TV was gone. That's why, i won't able to record programs anymore. Please help what should I do, If there's any other firmware that I may be able to replace the current one, for my record function to be operational again, or if there's no their update version available, please help me revert back to the original firmware... Thanks! I hope to get feedback soon...
As I forsee, the only solution possible is to download and install previous firmware version in which Recording function on Live TV is not disable....

Yes, a Nokia Care Center is the Final solution if the website can't offer any solution. Thanks for the feedback. Actually, my phone is still in Warranty, that's why I'm pretty sure that I don't have to pay for the services that will be perform. But still I'm into looking other solution to prevent bringing my phone to Nokia Care.
First, I had already an experience with the Nokia Care Center when I have repair my 1st N96 which took a month but they failed to repair, thus my service provider, Smart Communications, just replace the device with a new one.
Next, my location is far from the Nokia Care Center.
Finally, I opt to save all my files, with the device which is almost 95% full or 14.8GB.
Please help if there's any other option...

  • Apple update keeps telling me I need Bonjour installed but, fails to install. when I Download and install manually I get the massage that I already have a later version. How do I get apple to recognize its already there?

Apple update keeps telling me new software is available "Bonjour for Windows 1.0.6" When I try to install it, it fails. When I manually download and install I get the message I already have a later version. How do I get apple to recognize it's already there?

When I manually download and install I get the message I already have a later version.
Doublechecking before proceeding. Do you also get that message if you try to install the most recent version of Bonjour?
(There's a few different possibilities afoot relating to damaged installation configuration information for Bonjour on the PC here ... fingers crossed, the answer to my question will help narrow down the possibilities.)

  • Help trying to download and install firmware updater 1.0.2

When I click on Apple's link to download and install the latest firmware updater, this is the message that I get. Look at the link, and let me know where I can find the latest firmware updater for the headset to work. Thanks!

Okay. I uninstalled AIR, downloaded the current version and re-installed. I thought maybe a full install with the current version would help. CS4 setup seems to be working until it gets stuck at 'installing Adobe AIR.' I uninstalled AIR again and let CS4 setup install it but it still dies when it tries to do so. When it gets stuck, It will not let me CANCEL, instead I have to 'force quit' -- even thoght it doesn't show up as crashed. One great thhing -- I no longer have the big bang game popping up.
Thank you so much for you answer, One step @ at time...

  • Is there a way to have updates download and install automaticly

    Hello All,
I have a network with about 300 computers, 5 of which are Macs. With the recent security issues, and frequent updates, is there a way to set things up so that updates will download and install without any user intervention? Say maybe at 1am? I dont know if this is something you could do with automator.
Any help would be much appreciated!

For 5 Mac's, likely it would be better to do it manually, you also get the benefit of waiting for the all clear first.
Apple has been known ot roll out updates that break third party software, anti-virus etc.
Take for instance 10.6.8, seemed harmless, but these boards were flooded with people who's third party Rosetta based software broke, it cost businesses a lot of money in downtime.
Another is firmware updates, three in a row that were bricking Mac's logicboards.
So automatic updates isn't quite the best course of action, and with 5 machines, it's likely better to roll out to one, then another, then the rest jsut to make sure they all don't go down at once, especially with a small number.
Usually you can get the users of those 5 Mac's to update themselves, pick a leader out of the group to coordinate with, they are pretty happy having Mac's and likely to comply when you give the all clear sign.

  • My updates are failing.  Adobe application manager may be damaged.  I have downloaded and installed a new copy and the problem persists.   Please help.

I am trying to update Photoshop CS6 in order to read my camera's RAW files.  It is a camera that is supported by Adobe Photoshop CS6.  However, when I try to get the Adobe Application Manager to update the software, it fails to do so.  (The spinning wheel tells me it is checking for updates and then quits, saying that "Update Failed - Updates could not be applied.  Adobe Application Manager may be damaged.  Download and install a new copy of Adobe Application Manager.")
I have tried to reinstall the Adobe Application Manager 8.0, which gives me the following error message "We've encountered the following issues.  Installer failed to initialize.  Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem."  However, when I go to the link provided to download the Adobe Support Advisor, this piece of software NO LONGER EXISTS. "
The Adobe Support Advisor has been discontinued
The Adobe Support Advisor tool was used to analyze installer log and system information associated with installation errors. The tool has been replaced with improved installation support mechanisms. Please visit Adobe Support section for Knowledge base articles around Installation."
So, I have gone to the forums and took the recommended step to update my software manually - getting the update Photoshop_CS6_13_0_6upd-2.dmg.  However, this update also fails stating that my Adobe Application Manager may be damages.  Download and install a new copy of Adobe Application Manager.  Which puts me right back where I started.
I have also taken the step of completely reinstalling Photoshop CS6.  This did not solve the problems outlined above.
    Please help!

if that fails, uninstall ps, clean (Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6) and reinstall.  then use the manual updates.

  • Just purchased a ipad2, could not us it on my MacBook 10.4.1 - Purchased and installed OSX Snow Leopard 10.6.3 - downloaded and installed latest itunes, set up a itunes accounts and tested by purchasing an album and app, ipad does not show in devises?

I just purchased a ipad2, it would not work on my MacBook 10.4.1 I purchased and installed OSX snow leopard 10.6.3 downloaded and installed the latest itunes, set up an itunes account, purchased some music and apps.  When i plug in my ipod it shows up and works, but when i plug in my new ipad the ipad screen comes up with a display of a cable and itunes but does not show in devises, i have tried all the resets and different USB ports with no success.  Any ideas short of selling it on ebay or buying a new computer?

If you've already tried the usual rebooting of the computer and ports and stuff, there is only a few things left I can think of. It's possible that when you updated iTunes it didn't fully replace all the files, so I suggest just manually removing iTunes and then reinstalling it.
Try removing iTunes manually first http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1224 then download a fresh copy, make sure it is 10.3.1
It is essential that you go through Finder to remove those files it mentions. Otherwise they won't be reinstalled when you run the installer again.

On my system information, I have Chinese Wrd list Update 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1nd 1.4 installed. But I can't get this 1.5 Chinese Word list Update to automatically downloaded and installed as in the previous version
Where can I download chinesewordlistupdate.pkg version 1.5 for manual installation? I cannot find it anywhere on APple support website
This problem always occured when a new Chinese Word list Update is released. Why Apple won't make this update available for manual download or thru normal process of software update? Why Apple has to make this very suspicious update? I can't find answer anywhere on the Internet
Can any expert here point me to download this chinesewordlistupdate.pkg version 1.5 so that I can manually install it please

    Any advise
Perhaps it would help if you would do a few things to make sure the Apple update system knows that your machine needs to do Chinese.  This includes a) check the boxes to activate the simplified and traditional input sources in system preferences/language & text/input sources, b) download the additional 10 chinese fonts which Apple provides only when you try to enable them in Fontbook, and c) download the additional chinese voices which Apple provides only when you check their boxes in system preferences/speech/system voice/customize.
It might also help to temporarily switch the OS interface to Chinese and then check for software updates.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Mac OS X doesn't come with iLife applications, so you have to install them manually after installing Mac OS X.
Insert the Applications disc or Mac OS X Install Disc 2 DVD and install iLfe applications. Then, open  > Software Update, and install the latest update. If you want, you can purchase iMovie, GarageBand and iPhoto in the App Store, so you will get the most recent version
