Manual IP/Gateway but with auto-DNS?
For some reason, when I chose to enter the IP/Gateway/subnet information manually, the DNS information has to also be entered manually now in Leopard... this was not the case in Tiger (and Windows)..... the DNS should be pulled automatically from the router ... (usually using the same gateway/router IP)....
what happened to this feature?
What router are you using?? My old router was a WRT54G v2 and I always had my computers set to "DHCP with manual address" and it worked fine in the past. However, I had to get a new Linksys router, W54G v8, and my Macs running Tiger will not get connected using "DHCP with manual address". I can get them to work with straight DHCP or manual IP.
Has anyone gotten "DHCP with manual IP address" to work with a Linksys WRT54G v8?

Secondary Costs Manual Allocation but with a negative debit for the sender
Hi,
We would like to do a manual allocation for secondary cost (the sender objet is a cost center and the receiver objet is other cost center). The only way we know to do this, is using transaction KB15N, but with this transaction, system credits a sender object (for example, a cost center) and debits a receiver object (for example, an new cost center). Is it possible to do this allocation but having a debit (a negative debit) for the sender object and a debit (a possitive debit) for the receiver objets? We do not want to have credits, because the credit does not work properly for the cost splitting.

If I put the receiving cost center in the sender side and the sending cost center on the receiving side with a negative value, the problem is that the credit is done for the receiving cost center. For the kss2 we have not problems because all of the costs are on the debit, but for the receiving cost center when we run the keu5 we have problems because keu5 transaction does not take properly costs on the credit (it does not consider costs on the credit as negative costs on the debit).
Does anybody know how can we solve this problema?

I just switched from iphone 4s to LG G3. I'm having issues with bluetooth in my car, iphone would sync automatically but with G3 I have to manually connect to my car's bluetooth every time I turn it on - it won't sync automatically. Any fixes?
You can turn on BT tethering but it disables Wifi so if I have to do that step every time I get in my car, I just as well manually connect on BT every time.

My computer is infected with the DNS changer Virus. I installed the Macscan DNS Changer Removal tool but after running it and restarting the laptop, the virus is still there .

I want to allow redirects but not auto-reloading
I'm running Yosemite on a Mac Air, with fully-updated everything.
I'd like to stop pages reloading without my permission. This is usually an issue for me on news sites.
In FF preferences, the option to allow or disallow auto-reloading is tied to the option to redirect. I can allow or disallow both, but not allow one and not the other.
The net effect is, my news sites aren't automatically refreshing (yay), but other sites get stuck when a page redirect comes up. I play Scrabble online; now I have to manually allow a redirect with every play. Same with following Twitter links.
Is there some way to kill off the auto-reloads while still allowing redirects? Maybe a whitelist for redirects, as a secondary option?
Thanks!I do not know if the browser can tell the difference because it depends on the DNS server to give redirect requests back to the browser. Actually it does, 301 or 302 vs new http get request.... anyway:
I found this add on: [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/refreshblocker/ Refresh Blocker] and [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/noredirect/?src=search No Redirect] which both let you control what sites to allow if there are only a few sites.
This would only be a temporary work around however. -

I have a Problem with Romming Between SSIDs withing the same WLC but with deferent VLAN . the WLC are providing the HQ and one of the Branches the Wireless services .
Am using all the available 9 SSIDs at the HQ , and am using only 4 of it at the Brnche.
The problem that i have are happening only at the Branch office as i cant room between the SSIDs within Diferent VLANs but i can do it with the one that pointing to the same VLAN. Once the client ( Laptop/Phone ) connected to one of the SSIDs. it imposiible to have him connected to the other ones with Different VLAN. meanwhile, It says its connected to the other SSID but its not getting IP from that pool.

Tx Power Level 4 ..........Well you need to understand the behavior of h-reap or what it's called now, FlexConnect. In this mode, the clients are still remembers on the WLC until the session timer/idle timer expires. So switching between SSID's in h-reap will not be the same when switching when the AP's are in local mode.
Take a look at the client when connected in FlexConnect in the WLC GUI monitor tab. Thus will show you what ssid and vlan the client is on. Now switch to a different ssid and compare this. It's probably the same because the client has not timed out. Now go back to the other ssid and look again. Now on the WLC, remove or delete the client and then switch to the other ssid at the same time. Or switch SSID's and then remove the client. The client will join the new ssid and in the monitor tab, you should see the info.
There is no need to have clients have multiple SSID's unless your testing. Devices should only have one ssid profile configured to eliminate any connectivity issues from the device wanting to switch SSID's.

How to set up with cacheing DNS for local network?
Our new Lion Server has a static IP Address pointed to over the internet by our registrar's zone file. Planning the Lion Server installation process with the intent of hosting Web, Mail and Open Directory services to a small number of users who are nearly all located off-site. I do also want Lion Server to be a caching DNS Server and DHCP authority on the local network to replace what dnsmasq does on our current Linux server.
I am looking forward to offloading some of the lower level Linux administration tasks and putting myself in the hands of the Lion Server Setup Assistant and Server App :-) but at the same time don't understand some of its assumptions and fear having to spend a lot of time experimenting and re-installing.
So, specifically, I want the Server App to know that my Lion Server has a "Host Name for the Internet" but that the DNS it sets up will not be the DNS for my zone - I will be managing that through my registrar's interfaces.
Second problem is my fnot understanding what name space devices on the local network will / should use. e.g. The Linux server will be available for backups etc on the local intranet (and optionally have a static ip address on the Internet) but MacBooks, PCs, iPads and iPhones will be served ip addresses by the Lion Server's DHCP. So will / should these dynamic devices have their machine names fully qualified by our domain name with RFC 1918 style ip addresses or something like .local? How do I tell this to Lion's Server App / Setup Assistant? How easy is it to update these initial settings later?You do indeed need to have a master zone on lion server. There's no way to get around that since Open Directory depends on Kerberos and Kerberos depends on the DNS. LS scripts may see that the rDNS record exists, but I highly doubt that it'll auto configure everything for you... and given the number of possible variables, I bet that even if it worked something would need additional tweaking.
Sounds like an interesting lab excersize. You should try it on a test server!
Again... you just need to folow the set up procedure that Lion Server presents you with.
It won't be smart enough to see your external records and use them to configure a key distribution center for your OD.
As far as your caching needs... Could you set up your DHCP server to set the DNS server setting to show your internal server as the first hit, and your external as the second? That way when the client requests a resolution it'll not get a hit on your local server but will from the external?
The question then is how long will it wait for a response from the first server? Or will the first server respond with "I don't know" sending the client immediately to the second.
The server set up that I have works similarly. I have an internal master DNS that is replicated to a secondary. The first DNS has an A record (community.server.com) that points to the INTERNAL ip address of the secondary server that's also running the web service. The first server is running DHCP. It tells the clients to use the first and second servers as it's DNS lookup.
Now... Externally, my registrar hosts an A record for community.server.com that points to the external IP address of my router which then forwards the request to the proper port on the internal network.
This way, the local clients internally look up and get a response locally when they go for community.server.com. Externally, clients that look up community.server.com get the external connection to the router in my school.

[OIM] Error in Direct Provisioning (with auto save form) - GTC DB App Table
Hi,
I am getting an error when setting up direct provision of a GTC DB App Conn using OIM access policy (and group membership) or through manual provisioning with prepopulate and auto save form.
Manual provisioning with prepopulate ONLY (not with auto save form) WORKS!!!
Some information about my OIM config:
- Prepopulate adapters are set up on both forms (parent and child)
- "Auto prepopulate" and "Auto save form" are set up at Process Definition
- For direct provisioning, I have created an access policy with an associated group which has a membership rule
What it is working:
- Provisioning manually, using prepopulate adapters only, not auto save form. Both tables are updated properly
- All *3 tasks are called and finished with status=Completed*: "System Validation", "Create User" and "Child Table UD_<connector child table name>_US row Inserted"
Testing direct provisioning:
- I have tested adding the resource manually with prepopulate and autosave form configured, and also through access policy/group membership. The error is the same on both tests
- The resource is displayed as provisioned and it is created an entry in the parent table of the resource, but not on child table
- I also observed that only: "System Validation" and "Create User" tasks were executed (status=Completed). But it is missing the task "Child Table UD_<connector child table name>_US row Inserted"
- The error log info displays only an error regarding to UGP table (Groups info) but I am not sure if that is the cause of entry creation on child table.
It seems the SQL stmt tries to get ugp_name (group name) using ugp_key but that has null value.
"SELECT ugp_name FROM ugp WHERE ugp_key=java.sql.SQLSyntaxErrorException: ORA-00936: missing expression"
Note: When testing manually (without auto save form), I got "SELECT ugp_name FROM ugp WHERE ugp_key=1" which it is the same SQL stmt but the value is provided.
My guess:
- It seems that error is aborting the whole execution process so "Child Table UD_<connector child table name>_US row Inserted" task does not run, even though previous tasks are finished with the status=Completed. Consequently, the entry is not created on child table.
Please, any guess or help would be very helpful. In case nothing works, I guess I will have to create and customize a "Update child Form" task as an workaround which would be called after "Create User" task.

I solved that error about "ORA-00936: missing expression" applying OIM 9.1.0.2 BP05. That was not impacting my issue regarding direct provisioning with auto save form and child form.
So please if anyone can confirm:
- Can I set up prepopulate adapters on child forms AND also use "auto save form" on GTC DB App Table connector?
If not, any suggestion?

SUN .... When.... JRE 1.4.0 international with auto update
When will you deliver .........
We have a dead line and our product needs the international version 1.4 to be updated on our exsiting user base, one of our customers has over 700 workstations.
If the solution is to manually dowload and install this version then Web Start totally fails as a web centric solution.
I see that creating our own servlet breaches SUN's license agreement, so give us a developer servlet we can use.The auto download servlet supports both international and us-only versions of Java 1.4.0.
Java Web Start includes the current locale in the request to the servlet, and it returns the
US only version if the locale is en_US , or the international version otherwise.
Curently there is no way to get the servlet to download the international version when the
clients locale is en_US.Sorry but havent you just anwsered the question I put, either the servlet supports international clients or it dosent and your anwser just puts more wood on the fire, it dosent, but it could.
Also we recognize that there is a problem when an application needs the international version, and >>the client already has the US version installed. In this case Java Web Start will not attempt
to contact the servlet since it thinks it has an appropriate version allready.Also if you client requires an international version of the JRE it is because it requires that version period, hence if the version tag within the JNLP file specifies JRE1.4 international, then it dosent matter what Web Start may or may not think, the JNLP file written for the application by the author should determine its fate.
The only reason Web Start should determine locale on a target machine would be the text displayed for the dialog interface between the end user.
Its a simple case of checking do I have 1.4 international, "Yes or No", at this point I dont care if 1.4 English is installed, or locale is English, JNLP file asked Web Start, if 1.4 international was installed, "No", Ok then call servlet and request 1.4 international. Simple....
The JRE license agreement allows customers to repackage and redistribute the JRE.
Many customers are redistributing a JRE with their app. Im sure many are, please read my previous post , if you can get sun to offically confirm this, then I stand corrected. -
Problems with auto upgrade Anyconnect 3.1

I'm having problem with auto upgrade of Anyconnect 2.5 to 3.1.
Here is the situation :
I have ASA5510 running ASA 8.4.5 and clients are running Anyconnect 2.5.3055 and 3.1.00495 with 2 different profiles.
Clients with 2.5 can upgrade to 3.1 but then receive an "Invalid host entry" when they try to connect with new client. It works if they use FQDN instead of profiles. It's the same situation with Windows 7, Mac OS X and linux.
If I configure client software back to 2.5 on ASA, it works again for every client.
Do you have an idea ?

YannI have seen the same behavior on Mac OS X. A couple of points for me:
If I delete the profiles from /opt/cisco/anyconnect/profile then I can connect once (using the FQDN) but it then downloads the client profile and on next attempted connection it receives "invalid host entry." My profiles use the FQDN of my ASA and both forward and reverse DNS resolution are configured properly.
My workaround is to remove the AnyConnect Client Profile entirely, but I can get away with that because I have a very simple setup, with all users in one default group. If I had to pass different profile information to different users that would not be a solution.
Second, better workaround: I just exported the client profile, imported it under a different name, edited the new client profile to remove the server address, and assigned the new profile to the group policy. At their next login, users get all the profile settings and since the client remembers the FQDN they used to connect it doesn't adversely affect the user experience. -
What's up with auto tone?
What's up with auto tone? It doesn't seem very smart or useful. It always blows out the exposure for me, midtones in particular. I do have a hardware calibrated NEC SV monitor. I would much rather Adobe bring over the algorithims for auto contrast, auto levels, and auto color from PS, which, when faded to varying degrees using different blending methods (normal, color, and luminosity in particular), are incredibly powerful and useful.
Auto tone seems to have been broken from day one and hasn't gotten much better. I sometimes use it as a reference, then undo it and manually move somewhat in the direction it's suggesting, but it seems really out of whack in general.One of the first things I learnt in a PSE class years ago was: Never use auto adjustments, they'll ruin your picture ...
Since then, I rarely ever use any of these auto tuning features in any pricture editing software
I would go so far as to say that is extremely bad advice. The trio of 'auto' functions in PS are among the most powerful and useful in the entire program. They can be used in concert with each other, and each one faded to varying degrees - which they very often should be - and changing the type of blending when fading is very powerful. They can adversely affect image quality if used carelessly, by no means will ruin your photos de facto. Like any tool, they have to be used wisely. I've color corrected probably 100k photos over 18 years with PS and for me these tools are absolutely critical. -
My ipad 2 will not connect to the internet I've tried to manually enter it but its not recognising it or finding any connections. I've reset it to factory settings twice and its not clearing it. Does anyone have any ideas??
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)

• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. after few days of setting up the ZESM , but then i was unable to find is there any setting which can "AUTO PUBLISH " into the Client side . Without the Client need to use the manual "UPDATE POLICY " button ?
Because , we find it that to make it silent update without the CLIENT side need to manually click the UPDATE POLICY , so i would wonder is there any way to have the AUTO UPDATE the policy from SERVER side ?
