Map gamepad key to keyboard key

Hi,
I am trying to use an Xbox 360 gamepad with my mac. I am able to use it with most things but one of my games has a drop down of keyboard keys instead of a place that I can just press a button and it registers that.
Is there either something in Mac or an app or something that will let me do that? Preferiable able to make it only do it for this app, but isnt needed.

I have found the solution for myself for the above. I use a specific scripting program which is accessed by Control A. To pause it, you need to use Control B. not sure if this would work for any other application but it resolves my dilemma after hours of trying!

ARD 3.2 Update will not map some keys

Hi All,
Have just updated from 3.1 to 3.2 Apple Remote Desktop Admin and found that the remote computer will not map three keys anymore.
These are '~', ')' and '+' insead, it maps the character on the key without the use of the SHIFT key, i.e. '`', '0' and '='.
I'm using the "Australian" keyboard layout and have tested on two separate machines now, a PowerBook G4 and an eMac G4. Tried a clean install from CD of ARD 3.0 and upgraded to 3.2 - same issue. Tested all keys on keyboard in TextEdit with and without the SHIFT key and only find these three keys do not map.
Anyone else experiencing this since te update?

Have just had a go at reinstalling (rolling back to) 3.1 ARD.
It think it's all working ok now - only thing I've lost are my computer lists which shouldn't be too difficult to re-populate.
These are the steps I followed:
1. Stop ARD
sudo /System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/Resources/k ickstart -agent -stop
2. Backup ARD files
mkdir /ARD_backup
sudo cp -rv /var/db/RemoteManagement /ARD_backup/
mkdir /ARD_backup/libPref
sudo mv /Library/Preferences/com.apple.RemoteDesktop.plist /ARD_backup/libPref/
mkdir /ARD_backup/usrPref
mv ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.RemoteDesktop.plist /ARD_backup/usrPref/
mkdir /ARD_backup/AppSupport
sudo mv /Library/Application\ Support/Apple/Remote\ Desktop /ARD_backup/AppSupport/
mkdir /ARD_backup/usrAppSupport
mv ~/Library/Application\ Support/Remote\ Desktop /ARD_backup/usrAppSupport/
3. Delete existing files
sudo rm -rf /var/db/RemoteManagement
sudo rm -rf /System/Library/CoreServices/Menu\ Extras/RemoteDesktop.menu
sudo rm -rf /System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/

4. Install ARD 3.0
<Run RemoteDesktop.mpkg on ARD 3 Install CD>
5. Update to ARD 3.1
<Run RemoteDesktopAdmin310.pkg to update to 3.1>
6. Input Serial Number
Launch the application
Input XARD-030-000--***-***-***-***-***-***- serial number
Quit Remote Desktop application
7. Restore db files
sudo cp -rv /ARD_backup/RemoteManagement/ClientCaches /var/db/RemoteManagement/
sudo cp -v /ARD_backup/usrPref/com.apple.RemoteDesktop.plist ~/Library/Preferences/
cp -rv /ARD_backup/usrAppSupport/Remote\ Desktop/* ~/Library/Application\ Support/Remote\ Desktop/
8. Logon and test
You should then have your list of computers in "All Computers" and just need to bulk select the machines you require, set a password and then add to a new container.

No doubt someone else will have a better way of doing this but it's worked for me. Some machines have even remembered their passwords so I don't need to re-enter the whole lot!

I have some understanding of key mapping internal functionality.
my question is ... should I use this key mapping feature from all look up tables, main table while importing from remote systems?
should all my feilds have REMOTE KEY enabled.
Lets say I have loaded data into my repository from 3 different remote systems(R1,R2,R3) using remote key feature.
Now, I want to see all the records that belong to R1 only or R2 only?
Can this be seen using remote mapping feature? or how can I see only specific records for one remote system.... should i create another field that identifies the source and just map it? ....... generally how do we handle this?
Also, have uploaded the data for my lookup table DIVISIONS,when i try syndicating it for remote R1......
in my destination preview i can see some records that belong to only R2 and R3 also. I mean I am not able to see only the
records belong to R1 system.
I mapped
division <-> div
desc     <-> desc
there are two more keys like remote key, v...... Should I also map these keys?

1. It is totally dpeend upon business requirement which table you want to make remote enable.
    The main reason to use remote key is to syndiacte the data to remote system specific.
     So if you are syndication your subtables to then it is good to make remote key enable.

This is not possible as standard way.
But workaround is when you map the source field to remote key at destination side in import manager,just make the clone of source field and map it to the new fields to store the system from where the records came.
So in data manager you can search on this field to see only records that is specific to some remote system.

Yes you have to map these fields as well.
Even after mapping this option if you want to syndicate all the remote system records then there is option "override remote keys".after enabling this option there is record generated for each remote system.

Supposidly it's possibly through a CustomItem. I've never worked with it though.

Mind you, this means you'll have to program all of the Form functionalities yourself! (That or copy the original Item you want to use and add your own bit of (key input) code, if that works..)

Google Maps API Key V3???

We are in the middle of integrating a real estate website for our client and found that the Google Maps API keys have changed.
Have followed the instructions found on: https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/tutorial#api_key But we still receive an error stating our application is not authorised to use the API.
Does this mean Google Maps is not authorinsg Business Catalyst anymore? (Perhaps since the integration of BC into the Adobe ecosystem??)
Is anyone else having this issue or can anyone please urgently advise?

IWeb page generates IE9 error for Google Maps API key

My iWeb site generates an error in IE9 "This web site needs a different Google Maps API key". Is there any fix in iWeb for this?
I've found this link that offers a solution for IE9 users. It seems to be a bug with IE9 mixed content security settings, but people will blame my website and not their browser

CFMap not working for a specific Google Maps API Key

Hi All,
This has been driving me crazy for 2 days now. I've troubleshooted it down to a problem with the way CFMap is handling a spcific Google Maps API Key.
I've gotten it down to about the simpest CFMap page you can make, but the map doesn't come up.

The same page on a different domain (with a it's own API key) works fine:

Google's 'hello world' Map JavaScript with the key in question works fine, so the Key is correct.

All of these work on my local dev machine.
The Google Key works fine.
The CFML works fine.
Putting them together and you get a blank page with no error message.
It appears that the CFMap function is tripping over this particular key, or is losing communication with Google when trying to authenticate.

I have just set up Remote Desktop on my Mac. As I connect to a windos based comuter to then access Client Access for iSeries, I don't have have an ENTER key. How can I map my Apple wireless keyboard to match that of a windows based computer?

Is there a way I can map/edit the function keys on my Windows keyboard? I want to create a quick shortcut to assign one of my function keys to be able to move a file to the trash can.

Nevermind. The keyboard shortcut menu in preferences works. The problem was that I typed "Move to trash" instead of "Move to Trash"

Mapping media keys on G5 keyboard

Hi Mac Pro folks
I am not sure how many Mac users today still prefer using the old, big G5 keyboard, anyway I am one of them. The first thing to start using my brand new Mac Pro was to pair it with my G5 keyboard over Bluetooth.
However, the G5 keyboard does not have the media keys like those on today's Apple Keyboard with Numeric Keypad. The media keys are very convenient as they are always workable even you are not operating iTunes.
Is there a way to map these media keys to some of F keys on my G5 keyboard?

I tried to add F8 as Play for iTunes but it did not work.
Moreover, does Application based mean the key won't work once iTunes window is not the current active window?
What I am expecting is to get the media keys (always workable even iTunes not in the active window) mapped to a few Function keys. Any hints please?

There are 2 options.
Hold the 'fn' key when hitting the various F1, F2, etc... keys
Change System Preferences -> Keyboard -> Keyboard -> Use all F1, F2, etc keys as standard function keys

how do you map the function keys of the keyboard to the functions in final cut pro? when i hit a function key, a dialog displays prompting me to assign the keys, but no instruction is offered

Open the Keyboard control panel and check the Function Key settings; you can assign keys here, or you can change the setting so that the function keys act as regular function keys.
