Map optional elements to attributes
Hi,
I am mapping 5 optional elements to a element which has 2 attributes. I simplified my map to only check 1 optional element and then my map looks like below:
So I check if the element PruchseOrderNumber which is optional exists in the source. If that's true I use 3 value mappings to write the destination fields userfield, id and datatype.
But when I test the map I get a lot of Output validation errors. They are:
Output validation error: The required attribute 'id' is missing
Output validation error: The required attribute 'datatype' is missing
The output XML looks like below:
The first instance is created where there is no PurchaseOrderNumber and the second instance is when there is a PurchaseOrderNumber. But the first instance already creates a closed tag userfield. How do I get rid of this tag so my output validations are gone?
Hi Ronald,
One way to get rid of the empty nodes in your map by using a custom functoid and use XSLT script mentioned in this article.
Remove empty nodes in BizTalk by using XSLT

Howto optionally include an attribute on an element in a JSP document ?
I cannot find a way to optionally include an attribute on an element in a JSP document (JSPX). My JSP document is used to create an XML according to an XML schema where some element are declared as optional by the schema (default for element attributes).

Xquery: Element to Attribute Mapping - remove empty attribute tags
Hi,
I have a requirement to map source schema xml elements to target schema xml element attributes
i have done it like below
<Spd minimumvalue = "{ xs:decimal(data($Test/*:A)) }"
maximumvalue = "{ xs:decimal(data($Test/*:B)) }"
averagevalue = "{ xs:decimal(data($Test/*:C)) }">
Where A,B,C are the source schema elements.
So once the transformation is done the output looks like this
<Spd mimimumvalue="1" maxmiumvalue="" averagevalue="3"/>
Now i got to remove the attribute which has null value.
the output should look like this
<Spd mimimumvalue="1" averagevalue="3"/>
I tried using exists function and implemented it. But then if i have more than 2/3 attributes in the outout xsd then i need to have many if conditions.
Is there any other alternative for this.
Please suggest. Appreciate your help.Hi,
Is there any other alternative for this. I'm not aware of any.
Using exists() is a good solution though, and it's easy to implement with element and attribute constructors :
return
element Spd
if (fn:exists($Test/*:A/text())) then attribute minimumvalue { xs:decimal($Test/*:A) } else (),
if (fn:exists($Test/*:B/text())) then attribute maximumvalue { xs:decimal($Test/*:B) } else (),
if (fn:exists($Test/*:C/text())) then attribute averagevalue { xs:decimal($Test/*:C) } else ()
}Is that what you've tried? -
Issue with working on a webservice that has xml elements with attributes
This is a branchout of Thread: Some more complex sample of invokin WS needed_
We are working on a project that involves a outbound SALT Web service call that includes complex elements with attributes..We are looking for options of how to use FML API's to pass these attribute values from the application code.
We opened a ticket with oracle where we were suggested to frame the entire xml and pass the xml using the FML32 of the complex element. But when we framed the xml for Service and put the entire XML which includes the attributes using the FML ID of Service.
Please find a sample Schema and XML similar to the one we are working on...its associated code

The sample XML is :
___<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>___
___<!--Sample XML file generated by XMLSpy v2010 rel. 2 (http://www.altova.com)-->___
___<Service Name="TestService" Version="1.1" xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="Untitled6.xsd" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">___
___ <DateTime>2001-12-17T09:30:47Z</DateTime>___
___ <UUID>text</UUID>___
___</Service>___
wsdlcvt generated the mif file with Service as a FML32 type and all its child elements as "mbstring". We tried to leave as it is and we also tried to replace all the child elements and just had a mif entry for "Service" as a mbstring neither produced a different output...Tried to dump using Ferror32 which did not dump any..._
The sample C/C++ code as per suggestions were to do the following...
_1) Have a string with the entire XML for Service_
xmldata="<Service Name=\"TestService"\ Version="1.1\"_ xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation=\"Untitled6.xsd\" xmlns:xsi=\"http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance\">_
_ <DateTime>2001-12-17T09:30:47Z</DateTime>_
_ <UUID>text</UUID>_
_</Service>";_
_2) Use Fmbpack32 to create a mbstring data_
_memcpy(reqmbptr, (char*)xmldata.data(),xmldata.length());_
_len=xmldata.length();_
_Fmbpack32(mbcodeName,reqmbptr,len, packdata,(FLDLEN32 *)&packedlen,0);_
userlog("Size of packedlen is %d",packedlen);
3) Add the packed data to the output buffer
Fadd32(fmlbuffer,Service, packdata,packedlen );
But we do not see the Service tag populated in the GWWS outbound request.Everything else makes it....any help on how to move ahead would be appreciated...It seems you switch to the 10gR3 GA and now the whole XML data is mapped to FLD_MBSTRING.
I will forward my sample to you by mail, but this sample is not offical sample, it is just QA test case. You can refere it and check what's the difference.
Please let me know your mail address.

Xslt: mapping different elements onto instances of an unbounded element
How can you map different elements onto sequential elements of an unbounded type? For example:
<record>
<tag1>abc</tag1>
<tag2>def</tag2>
<tag3>ghi</tag3>
</record>
onto
<properties>
<property name="tag1" seq="1">abc</property>
<property name="tag2" seq="2">def</property>
<property name="tag3" seq="3">ghi</property>
</properties>
The mapping onto the first property will always be from tag1, etc. However, in the schema for <properties>, <property> only appears once:
<xsd:element name="property" type="NormalizedString" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded">
Can this be mapped using JDeveloper? Can it be mapped by hand?
If so, how?

I think you will have to do this manually. It's been way too long since I was doing any serious XSLT hacking, and I don't have your schemas, but this may give you a starting point for your transformation;

How to map secondry elements with main if have same ids for both?
I need to map secondry elements with its matching primary elements if they both have same id.
How can this be achieved in xslt.
If ids are not matching then not a single element of secondry sholud be shown.
If ids matching, then other fields of secondry elements, should be mapped to similar fields of primary elements.
Eg: Its like some program running and in between some add on programs started (may be trailor or advertisement).
the add on program is not always shown (optional), and whenever shown it has its own data information etc etc.
Please provide me some input, how to map and proceed.
Not sure what this code is really doing.
<xsl:template match="SECONDARY_EVENT_LIST">
<xsl:variable name="secondaryElements" select="ancestor::SCHEDULE/SECONDARY_ELEMENT_LIST"/>
<xsl:for-each select="SCHEDULE_ELEMENT_ID">
<xsl:variable name="id" select="."/>
<xsl:apply-templates select="$secondaryElements/SCHEDULE_ELEMENT[(@ID=$id)]"/>
</xsl:for-each>
</xsl:template>
Is this having any relation with what my requirement is all about?Hi,
You can use XPATH command to get the exact tag.
You can access each tag with it location like “/Report_Name/Group_Tag/Element_ID”.
I think this will remove the ambiguity of Tags with same ID. -
How to map single context value attribute to multiple value attributes?
Hello,
is there any way to map a single value attribute
from view's context into several value attributes
in controller's context?
The business context of what I want to achieve
is the following: I have a view which can be called
in two modes: read only (RO) and read-write (RW).
The input parameters to the view are the same for
both modes, however when in RO mode, the view calls
a different set of web services than when called
in RW mode. Before calling each of the web services
I need to populate their context value attributes
with appropriate input values.
I know I can do it in Java code, but is it possible
to do it without any programming (doing it in the
source code is prone to errors)?
Any help highly appreciated.
Greetings,
Tomek.Hi Kishore,
than you very much for your kind help.
I have already created a value attribute of type
boolean and mapped it into the read-only property
of the UI elements. This however does not solve all
of the problems... I will describe it with an
example:
Let's say the form I want to implement will be
used to: create (read-write mode), update (read-
write mode) or show (read-only mode) customer's
data. The customer's data is complex (lots of
data, including tree structures).
The problem is that:
- when the form is called in read-only mode,
it should populate its fields with values
provided by the getCustomerData web service,
- when the form is called to create a new
customer (in read-write) mode, it should
not use the getCustomerData web service.
Instead it should map the input values
entered by the user into input parameters
of the createNewCustomer web service,
- when the form is called to update customer's
data, it should first display values returned
by the getCustomerData web service, and then
it should map the modified values entered by
the user into input parameters of the
updateCustomer web service,
In all the above cases I must map my view's
context data to different controller's context
elements. Doing it directly in the source code
is not a nice solution. Is there any other
way to achieve this?
Calling a form in different modes in not an
unusual thing, so I was hoping that maybe
there are any built-in mechanisms that would
solve the obove problem...

Tomek. -
Creating optional elements using SQL / XML functions
Hi,
I am struggling with some SQL / XML functionality in order to create some optional elements in a XMLType.
I have one table with data to be generated into an XML document. The table looks like this (only the attributes related to the problem are shown):
msg_id (pk)
geslacht_hoofdverzekerde
geboortedatum_hoofdverzekerde
geslacht_medeverzekerde
geboortedatum_medeverzekerde
I have to create an XML document that looks like this:
<ber:rekenparameters>
<ber:verzekerde>
<ber:codeRelatierol>HVZ</ber:codeRelatierol>
<ber:geslacht>M</ber:geslacht>
<ber:datumGeboorte>01-01-1960</ber:datumGeboorte>
</ber:verzekerde>
<ber:verzekerde>
<ber:codeRelatierol>MVZ</ber:codeRelatierol>
<ber:geslacht>V</ber:geslacht>
<ber:datumGeboorte>01-01-1961</ber:datumGeboorte>
</ber:verzekerde>
</ber:rekenparameters>
Where <ber:codeRelatierol> is hard coded: i.c. of hoofverzekerde 'HVZ' in case of medeverzekerde 'MVZ'.
Geslacht en datumGeboorte are taken form the table.
The element <ber:verzekerde> is obligatiry for hoofdverzekerde but optional for medeverzekerde: only in case geslacht_medeverzekerde and geboortedatum_medeverzekerde are not null this 2nd <ber:verzekerde> element has to be added.
I created the next SQL (I skipped some stuff in order to focus on the problem):
CREATE OR REPLACE
VIEW dps_v_berekening_berichten
AS
SELECT msg_id as msg_id
, XMLElement( "ber:berekening"
, XMLAttributes( 'http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance' AS "xmlns:xsi"
, 'http://www.mycompany.nl/berekenen' AS "xmlns:ber"
, 'http://www.mycompany.nl/berekenen http://www.mycompany.nl/berekenen/berekening.xsd' AS "xsi:schemaLocation"
, XMLElement( "ber:nummerRekenRegel"
, XMLAttributes( 'http://www.mycompany.nl/berekenen' AS "xmlns:ber" )
, 1
, XMLElement( "ber:rekenparameters"
, XMLAttributes( 'http://www.mycompany.nl/berekenen' AS "xmlns:ber" )
, XMLElement( "ber:codeEvolutie" ) -- Empty
, XMLElement( "ber:verzekerde"
, XMLForest ( 'HVZ' AS "ber:codeRelatierol"
, xoa.geslacht_hoofdverzekerde AS "ber:geslacht"
, xoa.geboortedatum_hoofdverzekerde AS "ber:datumGeboorte"
, XMLElement( "ber:verzekerde"
, XMLForest ( 'MVZ' AS "ber:codeRelatierol"
, xoa.geslacht_medeverzekerde AS "ber:geslacht"
, xoa.geboortedatum_medeverzekerde AS "ber:datumGeboorte"
-- Some more elements.
) AS bericht
FROM DST_UP1_XML_OUTDATA xoa
The problem is that the XMLForest always creates an <ber:verzekerde> element for medeverzekerde. I tried to create an inline view with just the "vezekerde"attributes and conditionally joining this inline view with the dst_up1_xml_outdata table. That didn't solve my problem. Because in case of a medeverzekerde available it returned two XML documenst: one that included the hoofdverzekerde and one that included the medeverzekerde. And obviously that's not what I want.
I imagine I have to juggle with some of these SQL / XML functions although I cannot put the finger on the exact differences between some of these (XMLElement, XMLForest, XMLAgg, XMLSequence). The examples shown in de XML DB Developer's Guide don't seem to adress my problem.
Help !Hi, are you talking about this part that you don't want to be there? I am not so clear about your requirements.
XMLElement( "ber:verzekerde"
, XMLForest ( 'MVZ' AS "ber:codeRelatierol"
, xoa.geslacht_medeverzekerde AS "ber:geslacht"
, xoa.geboortedatum_medeverzekerde AS "ber:datumGeboorte"
If you want to control certain subelements so they don't appear, do not use xmlforest. Use xmlelement instead so it is easier to control it using case when. Mark (of Oracle, he should be here soon since OOW is over) showed me this technique and it helps tremendously, because oftentimes XDB will return an empty tag even though your consumers don't like it!
try something like this,
(case when xoa.geboortedatum_medeverzekerde = 'MVZ' then
xmlelement("ber:verzekerde",
xmlelement("What you want", colname),
xmlelement("ber:codeRelatierol", 'MVZ'),
(case when colname is not null or = some other value then
xmlelement("Rest", colname))
end)
end),
You may have to twig some details there. But the key is to use the case when construct to get rid of unwanted elements or empty elements. So you should only have the elements if you have a value of 'MVZ'. Hope this helps.

Element VS attribute in IR when we create data type.
hi guruz,
when we make data type in IR ,and while creating node ,according node we give type(Element ,attribue etc).
what is diff between element and attribute.
please help me
warm regards.Hi,
You create complex data types using elements and attributes in the XSD editor
Element
Create structured data types. Elements that have a type cannot contain subelements.
Example Instance
<myElem>
<f1> Value of f1 </f1>
<f2> Value of f2 </f2>
</myElem>
Attribute
Add attributes to elements. Attributes cannot usually have subnodes.
Example Instance
<myElem myAttr="AttributeValue">
Element Value
</myElem>
You can flag an attribute as optional or required in the Occurrence column. These values mean the same for elements with an occurrence of 0..1 or 1. The only difference between elements and attributes is that attributes cannot have subnodes and that the same attribute cannot be used more than once in an element.
Hope this will clarify you.

Blue brackets in TransformXSL = optional elements?
When I open a TransformXSL mapping windows with two strucuture (source and target)

Drag and drop mapping UI element/functionality
Hi All,
we are searching for functionality, in which the UI should contain drag and drop mapping options.
e.g.
we have ztableA(cities) containing values:
NewYork
London
Tokyo
Moscow
we have ztableB(countries) containing values:
Russia
UnitedStates
Germany
England
the UI should contain above two table values vertically (cities on left side, countries on right), and the user should be able to map by dragging and dropping the cities with appropriate countries.
initially, the screen will look like:
NewYork Russia
London UnitedStates
Tokyo Germany
Moscow England
after drag and drop actions by the user, it will look like:
NewYork UnitedStates
London England
Tokyo
Moscow Russia
Germany
after the mapping is saved by the user, i can save the paired values in 3rd ztable.
for this UI, how can we achive, are what is the preferred way to get this, using webdynpro abap or fpm or any other?.
which UI elements we can use. We are on SAP ECC6, EHP7
thanks in advance.
Madhu_1980Hi,
You can use Table UI with drag and Drop. create an Event handler for onDrop and read the drag source and drop target then you can append those to new table.

When I tell the custom style mapping option to format a Word style (from an rtf document) with the InDesign style, the text still maintains the word formatting or it shows a style override in the InDesign style. I have a large document that needs to import the styles correctly and I've followed the tutorials exactly however the placed text is still hanging onto the word RTF styles. I want the rtf text to convert to my InDesign styles completely without overrides.
I actually need the cell styles. That's what sets my font, spacing, and GREP styles.
I did find the solution today. In the table style or table setup, I needed to set the "Stroke Drawing Order" to "Column Strokes in Front". Even though it was previously set to "Best Joins" and I had no strokes for rows or for the table borders, it just wasn't giving priority to my dotted columns.
Thanks for your response though! -

How to develop ALV and select-option element in BSP? Help!
Hi Experts,
I have a requirement where I have a selection screen with 3 select-option elements and a search button. On clicking the search button an ALV table report has to be shown.
The ALV table is used for new row/rows entry, delete row/rows and update row/rows data. This is something like table control in normal ABAP.
Additionaly, I want the download to Excel, sorting, filtering, column swapping options in ALV.
How can I achieve this in BSP?
Is there any existing SElect-option and ALV component in BSP?
Any code sample will be really helpfull.
How much development time will it take?
Please help!
Thanks
GopalI think you will find that most of what you are looking for does NOT exist out of the box for BSP. There is no delivered selection-option or value help. I ended up creating my own over the years (You can find some versions online here in SDN in my weblogs - however a complete implementation of select-options was only delivered along with the Advanced BSP Programming book).
There is no ALV either. However with the htmlb:tableView, you can acomplish quite a bit. You may have to learn about table view iterators to get it all done. Downloading to Excel also isn't delivered. I developed a reusable BSP Extension element for this as well (can be found on SDN in my weblogs or with the Advanced BSP Programming book).
If you plan to recreate all these elements by yourself, your project will take some time. It took a while to build so many complex UI elements.
What release are you running on? In Netweaver04S you have Web Dynpro ABAP. WDA has delivered components for value help, select-options, and ALV.
