Hi,
I wonder if Russian translation in apple maps can be improved, For example, instead of "miles" it saying "milliliters"
"1.4 мл" suppose to sound "1.4 miles", not "1.4 milliliters"
"6 мл" suppose to sound "6 миль", not "6 миллилитров"
but most importantly, it is pronounce US street names very badly
"US-9" should sound line "ю-эс-найн" or "ю-эс-девять", not like "ас девять"
"newark" should sound line "ньюарк", not like "нешарак"
also, I'm very upset with new maps app - the old one was able to find buisnesses around me, the new one cannot find nothng, no hotel, no food, no passport photo and so on. please fix it asap
And one more thing: I CANNOT USE SIRI. No matter what i would say in english - 99% it cannot understand it. I need Russian speaking Siri very badly, please make it higher priority if you could

Russian Translations problem with Translation Tool Package

Hello Everybody.
I'm doing some translations and whenever I try to paste a Russian text into one of the messages in TTP, the app transforms the Russian characters into question marks. For example:
Предупреждение: Контактное лицо X не имеет связи с Бизнес-Партнером Y. Но Активность будет сохранена.
TTP Transforms it into:
??????????????: ?????????? ???? X ?? ????? ????? ? ??????-????????? Y. ?? ?????????? ????? ?????????.
Did anyone come across with this problem?

It looks like Translation Tool Package does not support russian character set and that's why it is displaying as '?' which means character is not recognized by the application.
Are you able to type the russian text in a note pad?? If you can type and text is proper, Operarting System is able to recognize russian characters, and not the TTP.
If it displays '?' in the notepad also, it means OS is not able to identify the Russian character set. In this case, you need to install the russian character set in the machine.
Can you please provide which CRM mobile release you are currently using. In case if you are using CRM 5.0 or above, you can translate the texts using Mobile Application Studio itself.

Bug report: Russian Translation Messages

There are several incorrectly translated messages. Better translation is below. English original is back-translated, so could be not exact in all cases. Russian text should be replaced.
Mail - Setup - View/Actions (Почта - настройки - отображение и действия) - "удалить подтверждение сообщения" (remove message confirmation) should be "подтверждение удаления сообщения" (confirm message removal)
Blackberry World Setup / General(Общие настройки) - 'Cохранить на карту памяти' (save once to SD card) should be 'Cохранять на карту памяти' (usually save to SD card)
Blackberry World Payment methods - 'Методы оплаты' should be 'Способы оплаты'
Clipboard Select / Select all should be 'Выделить' / 'Выделить все' (as select/highlight), not 'Выбрать' / 'Выбрать все' (as 'choose') phone-wide
SMS is translated as 'Текстовые сообщения' (Text Messages) in Russian. Untranslated 'SMS' or at least 'Сообщения' (messages) is much more common for Russia.
A message after doing a software update check is not correct: 'В настоящее время установлена самая последняя версия ПО' (Latest software version is currently installed) - should be 'В настоящее время установлена последняя доступная версия ПО' (Latest available software version is currently installed)
"Ожидание подключения для передачи данных" message (Waiting for data connection) during set-up doesn't fit the screen, should be wrapped or cut.
"Новый часовой пояс <...> время отправлено" (New timezone... time sent) notification during the initial set-up should be 'время установлено' (time set).

This could be related to another bug reported here recently:
E-mail looses all images if mail server doesn't accept outgoing email...
You cannot count on Apple looking into this or even noticing it if you report it here, so I suggest you the same I suggested in the other thread, i.e. report it in one of the following places:

Problem with Russian translation

Yesterday I took in to rent a movie "we Millers"! However, no Russian track. Just a silent movie!
This is not the first time Same problems i'd have with "Machetto killes" movie

Select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History on your computer.
Currently, if your purchase happens to be your most recent purchase you will need to click the large ‘Report A Problem’ button under the list of previous purchases in order to reveal the ‘Report A Problem’ link for your recent purchase. If your purchase is listed as a previous purchase use the small arrow on the left side of its listing.
Alternatively you can use the receipt email to report a problem.

How to identify there is no translation value in Value Mapping

Hi ,
I am using value mapping to translate one of the fields of data. Whenever the input has a translation value, the output is the translated value. But when there is no translation value for the given input in the runtime cache, the output is the input itself. But my requirement is to either error out or send a blank value as output when it doesnt find a corresponding translation value for the given input.
Example:(A,1)(B,2)(C,3) are the values present in the value mapping runtime cache. When the message looks for value mapping for A , as expected it gives an output of 1. Similarly for B and C.
But if the input is "Z", the output is "Z" since there is no lookpu value fo r"Z",which is an anamoly.
Please let me know if you had a prioir experience on this issue and a solution to this.

U can call value mapping functionality in UDF. Write a UDF with VM parameters.... Validate in the Source Value( U can also raise exception in the UDF).

Issues with russian language translation in ADF application

While testing the Russian translations, we are running into an issue . Basically the contents for the Russian translation when accessed from application, look all malformed. Not sure if it is related to character set encoding/decoding issues. We have no issues with German and French language, so the question is, is there anything specific that needs to be taken care for Russian language ?
Below is the source .properties file, which looks all Russian.

And,our portal application ends up showing what is merged in(that is malformed text as opposed to properly decoded russian text) . Looks like while creating the ear file jdeveloper just picks up the encoded characters and does not actually convert it into russian text. We have set our environment to UTF8, and the browser encoding includes the Cyrillic (KOI8-R).
Any pointers will greatly help.

It seems the property files are stored somehow with wrong characterset (not UTF-8)
Have you checked for german umlaut (like ä,ü,ö,...) in your german property files too? Are they ok?
We had similar issues with the german language a long time ago and as far I can remember it was the encoding setting in jdev preferences:
Tools --> preferences --> environment --> Encoding should be "UTF-8"
Project properties --> compiler--> Character Encoding should be "UTF-8"
If you have to change this setting then you have to edit and save the russian property file again.
As mentioned in the other post you can use native2ascii (http://docs.oracle.com/javase/1.4.2/docs/tooldocs/windows/native2ascii.html)
at the command line to verify the encoding faster than deploying and run the application.
native2ascii is used also when you build your project in Jdeveloper to convert all the property files.

Can't access Youtube & other google services with Safari (maps, translate...))

Hello,
since I got my new Macbook (retina 13") several google websites don't work anymore.
- Youtube
- google maps
- google translate
- google play
- google books
- etc.
It's only a problem with Safari, as soon as I use a different browser like Opera or firefox, everthinks works.
If I use Safari I get the message:
"Safari can't connect to Server"
It never worked with the new Macbook, so I think it can't be a problem of a particilar software installed on my Macbook.

Is there an y Proxy server selected?
Safari > Preferences > Advanced
Proxies:
Click "change settings"
The network preference window will open up.
Under "Select a protocol" if any box is checked uncheck it.
Click "ok", then "Apply". Close the window.
Restart Safari.

Issue while sending SMS from JavaMail in languages like Russian & Japanese

Hi,
We have a requirement to send multi lingual SMS to users mobile number.
We are using JavaMail API for this. The only changes we have done to send SMS (instead of EMAIL) using a standard JavaMail code are –
1)     Use the suffix @sms after the mobile number. For eg: 919923456789@sms.<domain>.com.
2)     Use “text/plain” instead of “text/html” while setting the content type.
The SMS is sent fine for English and French but we get junk characters for languages like Japanese and Russian even on phones which support these languages.
Could anyone please advice on the below points –
1)     Is this a limitation with respect to JavaMail? If yes, is there any other api that can be used?
2)     Does some setting needs to be done in the SMS gateway to enable sending SMS in Japanese and Russian?
3)     Does some setting needs to be done in the mobile phone to receive SMS in Japanese and Russian?
Any help on this issue will be appreciated.

I tried this but still not getting correct text. If I try with "UTF-16BE"/"UTF-16LE", then I do not get an SMS at all. I have tried with UTF-8 as well.
Does it matter if I change the phone language before/after I receive the message in a language different from the currently set phone language?
I am based out of India and am trying to send these messages to some of my colleagues who are all using Indian service providers. I have tried this on phones which have Russian as a language option.

ABAP mapping issue

It creates a tag when i give sndprn_1 as value. The abap program works fine. Now, i need to get SYNCIND tag content by calling a function module, which inturns query the table.
sndprn_1 is the input parameter for the function mentioned below. The abap program errors out with the below mentioned code.

Smart Form translation

I have a Smart Form with original language EN, and several translated languages not including RU. I need to add the Russian translation. I got into SE63 and called up the form by name under Translation, Long texts, SAPscript, Smart Forms. I got message SKTY 213 "Invalid codepage for language Russian". So then I tried logging on in Russian and doing the same thing. This time I got message SKTU 201 "[form name] does not contain any text".
So my question is: How can I get into the split screen translation editor on a Smart Form to add a target language doesn't exist in the form yet, and that is a different code page from the one used with an English SAP session? Is there a way to copy all the English text elements into a new Russian version, and then just type Russian contents over each one?

Invalid codepage error for translation using SE63!!

Hi Friends,
I have a problem with Smartform translation. I have a smartform in English , I have to have some of the hardcoded texts to be in Russian. I have the Russian translations for the same. In the attributes of the form I have made sure it allows tranlsation to all languages. But when i got o SE63, and give the smartform name and give source language as English and Target language as Russian, and click on edit, I get a message "Invalid codepage for language Russian".
Please help me out if any of you have any idea. Would be happy to award points.

Note russian fonts are not loaded in your system, inform the basis, they will help you to sort it out.

About Translate function

When we are using translate () the each character of 2nd expression is replaced by specified position character from 3rd expression up to this is fine. But after getting the result set Can we interchanged the expression2 with expression 3 for again getting the Original Value ?

How can I get User's Manal for Ultiboard in Russian language?

I need to presrent tthis product at conference in my university, but i couldnt find russian version of user's manual or getting started for ultiboard does it exist?

Sorry but Ultiboard is only localized in German, Japanese and English. We do not have any Russian translation or localization available. There could maybe be a unofficial translation in the web if you use search engines, but from NI's side we do not have it.
