Mark Interest Accrual for MM Instruments as Posted at go-live

Folks I have a simple situation wherein I want to mark legacy Interest Accruals as Posted, the way TBB1_LC works.
If I run TPM44 with no immediate posting, it does the trick but then sets the status as To Be Fixed, I tried using TPM18 to see if later on such flows could get fixed by mistake, and SAP did not fix any flows which is what I want.
Question is whether  TPM44 with no immediate posting should work same as TBB1_LC for my scenario ?
Much Appreciated.
Rahul

Hello Renatas,
Simple Scenario is:
For an "Intercompany Loan" Instrument with 4 months freq. Chronology given below:
Last Payment/ Capitalization Date = 5/31/2014 (Position/Principle Balance = 1mm)
Legacy/Excel based Interest Accrual on 6/30/2014 = 1k
Legacy/Excel based Interest Accrual on 7/31/2014 = 1k
SAP Go-live Date = 7/31/2014
On 7/31, Performed TBB1_LC with Position Principle as of 5/31/2014 (1mm) with Position Posting Date = 5/31/2014   (no posting in SAP)
On 7/31, Above 2 Accruals posted to new SAP GL Account on 7/31 (general journal, not via TR)
But to proceed further, how to statistically post Legacy/Excel based Interest Accrual on 6/30 & 7/31  like we did in TBB1_LC.
Please note postings to previous periods are not possible as they have been closed and have been posted manually accounting wise from excel.
SAP based Interest Accrual on 8/31/2014 = 1k (posted in SAP)
SAP based Interest Accrual on 9/30/2014 = 1k  (posted in SAP)
On 9/31 Interest Capitalization Date = New Principle = 1mm + all total interest accruals which will be the correct cash flow indicated by SAP.
Please note that the loan instruments are denominated in different currencies than CoCd currencies hence there are forex gain/loss issues too.
Regards,
Rahul

  • Treasury report - Interest accrual for instrument over a given point of tim

    Hi,
One of the treasury managers at our US-based client location has the following requirement for a Treasury report:
u2022     Is there a report in SAP that will tell the manager how much interest would accrue for an instrument over a given point of time?
u2022     For example, it would tell the manager what the TBB4 transaction would accrue for an instrument next year provided that the principal payments occur as they are scheduled to occur in the Treasury module?
u2022     The client is talking about accruals and not payments
u2022     He would like to have a standard SAP report as far as possible that would circumvent the need to manually get a dump of principal payments/rates and manipulate it in Excel
Any pointers welcome u2013 SAP standard reports preferred.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Atish

    Hi,
Check the report S_ALN_01001154.  Specify the key date and the transaction number, it will give the accrued interest till that key date which will be posted through TBB4.

  • Forex Gain/loss posting from prior interest Accruals in capitaliization scenario !!

    Gurus,
    This is a decent question.
In SAP MM instruments, how do we post
Forex Gain/loss arisng from prior interest Accruals in capitaliization scenario !!
    1. Is it REALIZED OR UNREALIZED gain/loss?
    2. Should it even be considered Gain / Loss, in which case Accounting Entry will be like
    DR/CR Interest Accrued
    Cr/DR Interest Accrued Discount
    Please advise.
    Rahul

    Hi Rahul,
Can you explain what do you mean by prior interest acrruals in capitalization scenario.
If you have a MM product which you are capitalizing the interest , then for previous month the accrual interest posted which is already posted will remain.
I am not clear about the scenario. Care to explain it pls

  • Accrual for Interest rate SWAP

i want to know how acrual for Interest rate SWAP works from account assignment point of  view
i would really apprecaite if any1 can give me information or docuents for setting interest rate swap accrul

    Hi,
In the case of interest rate swap,  we have to post the accrual/deferral in TBB4.  Here from account assignment point of view, we have to assign the condition type to the product type and the transaction type.  For this condition type we have to assign the flow types.
As far as the account assignment goes, just like normal accrual, we have to post Cr Interest payable account and Cr Interest paid account.  In the case of int rate swap, unlike currency swap, only the interest amounts would be posted and the nominal amount will not be posted to FI.
If you have further doubts please ask me.

  • IHC interest accrual calculation for subsidiares

When interest accrual calculation is done in IHC (F993), the transaction F9HI (FI transfer) posts these amounts in the FI of the company that holds IHC.
Our customer wants that the corresponding amount (with opposite sign) is transferred to the FI system of the subsidiary.
Did you have ever had any similar request?
(the situation is different from interest calculation (F996 or F991) in which a single item corresponding to the interest amount is posted on the IHC account and then is transferred to the subsidiary via the IHC bank statement)
    Thanks!

Hi guys, this is the SAP answer to the incident we have opened.
"I have understood the issue that you are facing. I am afraid, there is
no standard solution in IHC to update the subsidiary with the interest
accrual items. From the IHC design point of view, the business process
does not state to replicate the postings of the IHC system into the
subsidiary. The idea is to make payments on behalf of the subsidiary
and in the process also allow the reconciliation to happen at
subsidiary by clearing the customer/vendor line and updating the
    payable/receivable accounts of the subsidiary.
As you mention, you are transferring the interest postings resulting
from F996 to the subsidiary system, however, this is not a step
defined in the IHC business process.
As far as F993 interest accrual is concerned, you have rightly
mentioned, the GL transfer is performed only to the IHC/HQ GL
accounts. There is no provision of transferring the accrual items to
    the subsidiary GL accounts.
This is as per the standard IHC design.
I am sorry, but i have no better news for you on this front."

  • What are the custimization steps to run interest calculations for customers

    Hi,
I need a full custimization steps to configure the interest calculations for customers. i created interest indicators, g/l accounts and account determinations also. but no interest is calculating for customers and customers are having no of days to calculate the interest. So please guide me on this regard.

    Hi,
    Configuring the Interest Calculations Procedure
This configuration allows you to charge interest on overdue customer accounts.  Interest can be calculated by using the line items or overall account balances. SAP keep tracks of the date of the last interest run and stores it in the customer master record.
    First create an Interest Indicator.
OB46 - Interest Settlement Calculation Type
    Int Calc. Type
P - calculate interest based on line items.
S - calculate interest based on account balances.
Secornd, make it avaliable to the interest run program.
    OB82 - Interest Terms
Third, determine the interest rate that will be used by the calculation.
OBAC - Define Reference Interest Rates
OB83 - Enter the Reference Interest Rates Value
Fourth, assign the interest indicator to the reference interest rate.
OB81 - Define Time Dependent Terms
Finally, determine the how and to which accounts the interest program will post.
OBV1 - Prepare Interest on Arrears Calculation

  • Item Interest Calculation for partially cleared items

    Hi
We need to do interest calculation on Customer Line Items. The T Code we are using is FINT. We have set an interest indicator for Item Interest Calculation, with Interest Calculation based on Items Cleared with Payments. The requirement is that Interest should be calculated on even partially cleared items. Suppose a customer invoice is generated on 1.1.2009 for INR 100000 and becomes due for payment on 30.1.2009. Now on 10.2.2009, a partial payment is recieved against this invoice for INR 30000. System should calculate interest on INR 30000 for 11 days. Now again on 20.2.2009, remaining payment of INR 70000 is recieved. In such a case, interest should be calculated on INR 70000 for 21 days @ 1.25% PM. In the current configuration, when we define that system should calculate interest on Open Items cleared with payments, system calculates interest on INR 100000 for 1.25% for 21 days. Pls suggest.

  • Interest Caluculation for Special G/L transactions for vendor

    Dear All,
Could you please tell me the scenario of interest calculation for Special g/l calculatios for vendors.
    Thanks,
    sudhan

    Hi Atif,
I've made all the changes that you have suggested, but the problem still remains. For Reconciliation account that I'm using, I've changed Field Status Group from Payment to "Optional", and the same to posting keys for Special G/L transaction.
The Note 9344 is about this problem. Do you know if it still remains?
    Thanks!

  • Checking for business area during posting

I need to check for business area balancing during posting of documents.
Eg: if we receive bank interest income for a bank account from a business area Y then the entries should be credited into same business area Y
    Dr Bank - Y
    Cr Interest income - X
    this should not occur
user wants to have an error message if the entries doest balance the business area while posting a document
can any one plz tell me how this can be done?(does fi validations help in this?)

    Hi all
Can any one help me solve this...
we have several business areas but use only one 'bank interest received' GL account. So when posting the entries it should check for the business area in this gl acccount with the BA in the customer(bank ) acc.
I tried to create validation at document level but it is not giving the message..
    thnx

  • Activate Integrated Planning for Cost Line Items posting

    Hi all,
Based on this SAP Help link, there are two ways to create plan line items:
    1) By adding the business transaction "Plan line items" to the user status of the WBS Element.
    2) By activating Planning Integration a.k.a. Integrated Planning for version and WBS Element/Project Profile.
Option 1 works fine for me.
However, option 2 does not seem to be working when I activate it, contradicting the state from the link:
If planning integration is active in the fiscal-year-dependent parameters of the relevant planning versions, the system writes cost element planning line items for plan-integrated WBS elements, regardless of user status.
So far what I have customized is:
-In transaction OKEV, select the version, click on "Settings for Each Fiscal Year" and double click for the year. Then I mark both "Integrated Planning" and "Integrated planning with cost center/bus. processes" checkboxes.
-Activate "Integrated Planning" at Project Profile level: go to transaction OPSA, select Project Profile, go to tab "Controlling" and mark "Integrated Planning".
Nevertheless, when I post plan costs from transaction CJR2 using the customizing above (based on second option), I see no cost lines when running CJI4.
I wonder if there is something missing in customizing that allows me to see posted cost line items in CJI4. I would appreciate very much your help.
    Many thanks and best regards,
    Pablo

    Hi Gokul,
Many thanks for the link to that threat, Rachel Tang's reply on that discussion is very complete and included the answer to my question.
She comments that three points must be checked to activate Integration Planning:
    1) Mark "Integrated Planning" at CO Version/Year level (SPRO > Controlling > General Controlling > Organization > Maintain versions).
    2) Mark "Integrated Planning with costs centers/bus. processes" at CO Version/Year level (same transaction).
    3) Ensure WBS Element has Integration Planning marked (PRPS-PLINT = X). [It looks like this is done automatically by marking Project Integration at Project Profile level BEFORE project is created]
In my case, I had first and second steps correct. However, even though I had marked Integration Planning at Project Profile level, it seems that already created Project Definitions are not updated with new Integrated Planning value after it is changed at Project Profile level.
Maybe it is possible to modify WBS Element's Integration Planning flag manually (though SAP OSS Note 301917 states that this is impossible), otherwise I could never achieve Integration Planning for already created projects.
In my case it would be more suitable to use the alternative of adding Business Transaction "Write plan line items" to User Status.
Many thanks to Sanjeev and Gokul for your help.
    Best regards,
    Pablo

  • Automatic accruals for bad debt

    Hello,
I was said it possible to accrue for bad debt according to the following rule
    - after a first delay 45 days, an accrual of of 5% of the invoice is posted
    - after a delay of 60 days, an accrual of 10% of the invoice is posted.
How can such a rule be customized?
    Thanks a lot
    SB

    Hi,
you can define methods (rules) for calculation and also necessary account assignment for the posting to happen.
    OB04: Define the method
OBXD: Account Assignment for the provision
OBXY: Account assignment for the Special GL posting
You can then calculate and post provisions as below:
F103: This transfers the overdue invoice to a special GL
F104: This records the provision amount
    Hope it helps.
    Thanks
    Anita

  • Mark Infocube Data for Deletion

    HI Everyone.
I am attempting to understand if there is a way in the Infocube to mark specific
data for deletion rather than actually delete that data using selective deletion and than
unmark it when we are ready to show the data again?
Please let me know your thoughts.
    Thanks Uday

    Hi Uday
There is nothing called 'marking for deletion'... The last post on this subject is what you can follow at the most i.e. delete the data from the Infocube but not from PSA and try to use it from the PSA as required.
    Cheers
    Umesh

  • Check already marked as "cashed" in check register -- no posting is made

    hi everyone,
i am getting the following message as "check already marked as "cashed" in check register -->no posting will be made".
we are getting this message when we received the paid file dated 07/26/2007 for the work of 07/25/2007 successfully.  However, when the paid file was processed , several items for different company codes were not posted.  A paid error report was not created in SAP, but all checks are marked as cashed.
Can anyone please provide me a solution for this.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Srinivas,
Its seems that the file which you have run have already been run before, please check
    1) if bank have send you old or duplicate file.
    or
    2) check correctly if you are running the latest file.
Above mentioned error is displayed if the same file is run twice or same data is been processed before.
    Hope this helps.

  • FSCM-CR: Automatical Interest Calculation for Late Payments

    Hi all,
Do you guys know if there is a standard functionality ( on SAP Collections Management or in SAP Credit Management) for automatical interest calculation for the customers late payments ?
Our client is on FINBASIS 6.00
    Thanks in advance.
    Best Regards.

    Hi,
It will not be possible to post from Collections management as it would in general not be done by receivables team.
However, interest on arrears is a standard function available in Financial Accounting itself.  Maybe you can use them for your requirement.
    Regards,

  • Create rules for selection of Reconciliation posting (TCODE: KALK)

    Hello SAP Experts,
I haven't worked on New GL concept but I am trying to learn it myself. Till now I have linked the Controlling area with New GL. But I don't know how to "define rules for selection of reconciliation posting"
SPRO--->. FInancial Accounting (NEW) --->Financial Accounting Global Settings (NEW) ->Ledgers-> Real time integration of controlling and FA--->Define rules for selecting CO line items
If any of you who have worked on it can explain me about it then it would be great.
    Thanks in advance.
