Iphone 4 will not show up on computer or in itunes. After several attempts to restart, only showing image to connect to itunes. Everything is plugged and it and I have the most up to date version of itunes.
My iphone 4 only shows image to connect to itunes. It will not come up in itunes and does not appear to be connecting to my computer. I have attempted to restart my phone numerous times but it just keeps going back to this same screen. Please help.
Did you make a backup because you can't recover what's on our phone. Follow these steps to resotre your phone (the phone has to be plugged into your computer):
1) On your phone, press your sleep button for 2 seconds
2) After the two seconds, don't release the sleep and press the home button for 10 seconds
3) Release the sleep button and keep the home buttton pressed untill your computer detects your phone.
4) A window should pop up and you should have the restore button. Press it.

After being on the phone for hours to apple who were very helpful i had no luck we triad everthing, While waiting for a call back today i refreshed windows using the upgrade disk i had from my upgrade from windows 7 to windows 8. it did not wipe any files but did delete lots of apps but gave me a list of deleted apps. Then I reinstalled itunes and connected ipad then iphone and it finaly loaded the driver and alowed me to synk with itunes.

When I open iTunes my iPhone 4S will not show up as a device. I have tried the advice provided by Apple. I have gone through the iPhone Troubleshooting Assistant. That gave no solutions. I have tried the other solutions offered by Apple. I think that I have possibly identified the problem. As far as I know the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is not installed on my computer. I have tried to install it but when I do I receive an error message. I repeat the entire error message in the following paragraph. The message appears in a dialogue box with the name: "Update Driver Software - iPhone".
"Windows encountered a problem installing the driver software for your device. Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it. Apple Mobile Device USB Driver. Access is denied. If you know the manufacturer of your device, you can visit its website and check the support section for driver software."
I cannot find a solution to this problem on Apple's website. How can I get this driver installed?Hi there anaqeed,

Wanted to sync up my new IPhone4, and thought that I should make sure I had the most up to date version of ITunes on my desktop first. Tried to get on site, and got an error message saying; "The folder ITunes is on a locked disk or you do not have write permissions for this folder." Cannot get on ITunes at all now. Help! Thx.

My iphone 4s will not show the lightning bolt icon while plugged into either the wall or the computer. It shows between 1% and 4% charge. I have reset, and done a factory reset, and this has not fixed the issue. My computer will not recognize the device. While off, the iphone shows that it recognizes that it is plugged in, but i cant tell if its charging because the lightning bolt will not show. Please help.

It's just the battery sign - nothing else. I've tried to reboot by holding down both power and home key for 10+ seconds, waiting for the apple logo - but nothing happens. It's plugged into the imac at the moment. I tried to recharge it overnight using the normal charger - but no luck. I have recently returned from a holiday in New Zealand and transited for 6 hours in China. Since returning to the UK my maps app on Iphone 5 will not show my surroundings in hybrid or satellite. I have also noticed that the data from section that usually displays data from TOM TOM and others now just says others. Has anyone encountered this before or know how to get the Satellite function on maps back?
Your phone is "stuck" in the Chinese version of maps. This also happened to me once I got back from China recently. I believe I solved the problem by logging out of iCloud and reloging in.
BTW the App Store app was also stuck in China. It only displayed Chinese characters and I had to log out and relogin.

I have had problems with my macbook for some time now. I go to update my software and it will search like it would normally. But it then says that i have the most up to date software, when i havnt updated my macbook in at least a year. What do i do because i cant even plug my iphone in to put music on or anything

Go to Solution.I got it! I had installed the Microsoft Family Safety program on my computer and things seemed to start to go downhill from there. I uninstalled the program and everything seems to work fine again!

I am going to assume you are using Safari here. If so then go to the Apple menu bar and hit Safari-> Preferences. Under the Apperance tab there is a check box that is called "Display images when the page opens". Check if that is unticked.
