Markup animated smilies not animated, fix?

The markup smilies here http://us.imdb.com/help/boards/markup include a number that are animated, but they aren't moving for me there or on the message boards for that site. I had had my OS reinstalled due to severe problems, and it's possible I'm missing an application or plugin that made those work, or a setting has been changed. What do I need to do to make them work again?
The problem is with animated gifs like this:

It appears just as a smiley for me now, but it used to animate a laugh.

after perusing other subjects with playback issues:
this is the fix:
-Launch Control Panel - Double click Quicktime, If you do not see quicktime, look on the top left side of control panel and switch to classic view. This will then allow you to see Quicktime.
-Now click the advanced tab and click on Safe Mode GDI Only, Apply, then ok.

It works fin, but the designer keeps craping out. This was not happening until recently. Not sure what is up with it.

Long standing bug in deployJava.js has not been fixed

I thin it's outrageous that the bug reported here deployJava.js and HTTPS Problem has not been fixed. I can only assume that Oracle has abandoned Java.

You'd be surprised to know that some Java API (including Java2D & Swing) bugs & RFEs I have submitted 12 years ago have still not been fixed.
I doubt it's Oracle's fault, as much as it was Sun's, probably a generic lack of people and resources to allocate to fixing small bugs coupled with a bad prioritization system which does not automatically increase the weight of a low-priority bug after it has spend some times/months/years in the bug-db.
On the other hand, I have always wondered what do all these people at Java/Sun/Oracle do all day long (was especially true of the JavaFX team over 2009/2010 and now I am starting to do the same about the JWS devellopment/support team considering the huge amount of things non-working correctly in this technology).

Usage of NOT having Fixed Point Arithmetic?

Hello!
SAP recommends to always do programs with Fixed Point Arithmetic attribute checked. Please don't explain here what is Fixed Point Arithmetic - I know this and it's is not my question.
The question is: why do we have it at all? Why aren't all programs simply fixed-point-arithmetic without attribute to activate or deactivate this?
I suppose that there are situations which require Fixed Point Arithmetic NOT being set, but I can't imagine any. Could anyone offer an explanation?

This attribute defines, whether for numerical data objects of data type p (packed numbers) is the decimal point is relevant in calculations or assignments or if it is omitted. Normally, this attribute is always switched on and you might ask, why it can be switched off at all. Well, in very ancient times packed numbers had no real decimal point. It was taken into account only for presentation purposes. In order to stay downward compatible, for the introduction of fixed point arithmetic this switch was needed. In fact there are still programs that switch fixed point arithmetic off ¨C for example financial programs that calculate on the basis of cents instead of dollars.

Permissions not being fixed

i tried to fix permissions on my macbook and it seemed to work fine, but five minutes later, i fixed permissions again "just to check" and i figured out that my permissions are not being fixed. What can i do?

I followed the steps to unlock the .icc file in the "getinfo" screen then went on clicking repair in colorsync utility.
This is the message i got:

New to mac so I really don't know what to do.
I didn't get this message so far. What i did before getting this message was to open a jpeg file. I wanted to edit it so when i did right click on the file i went to open with, and colorsync came as an option; so i chose it.
Then this message started comming up.

As to the hangs, it's likely something else. A 2003 iMac is pretty old - which model iMac? That's a G4 which can't run current OS. Is the hard drive full? Do you have enough RAM?

My screen contrast has gone awry and the ColorSync Utility is unable to fix the problem. In searching the wisdom of the web, I found a response from 2009 on another forum, which referenced this forum. But the thread is gone. The information was in regard to the Color Profiler. Can anyone help? Has anyone had to deal with this? I found a lot of people looking to fix this, but not a lot of follow-up replies with answers. I have tried reinstalling the file from a back-up and re-booting, but to no avail. Some have suggested a problem with the Epson software. But without any detail, I don't know what to look to change. Any help, advice, cures, etc. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Sorry, I thought you asked what course of action to take.
It means the data for that "tag" in the profile is not the size expected - I know, that's obvious too. The 'dmnd' tag contains the manufacturer's description.

Look at this technical specs document, your system should be fine with the possible exception of Color.
As for managing your preference files, use Digital Rebellion's tool.

go to your desktop, look for 'Macintosh HD' icon
[double click]
window opens.
look for 'system'
[double click]
double click on 'Library'
look for 'Frameworks'
click on drop down grey arrow.
double click on 'versions'
double click on 'A'
double click on 'resources'
you will find 'WIDGET SIMULATOR' in there
double click on it.
NEXT,
Go to Application/Preview, then right clicking on Preview and selecting "Show Package Contents." Then go to Contents/Plugins/Markup.
drag that icon into the opened 'widget simulator' program.
VOILA!

Phone not getting fixed Hardware ISSUE

Hi wondering if any one could help me here I got a new iphone 5 in 2012 but it came faulty in oct 2013 with the sticky buttons which was replaced (yippee) but as of today aug 2014 the camera went faulty after I updated my phone on 7.1.2 and now is coming up with a pink screen when trying to use the rear camera!!! ! I then went to the genius bar in braehead, and the lady told me new camera is £55 new phone is £209 but you have to come back and make an appointment which I did I then spoke to a genius and was informed its an hardware issue which is a common problem plus the cameras can not be fixed in the iphone 5 and the new phone was the only option! and even tho its a new phone from October 2013 its not covered as the warranty ends when the first phone ends?? Can any one explain to me what law allows them to say this as I thought if I was giving a new phone under warranty this would then at least be a years warranty or do they not trust there own product? I have been a huge apple fan with apple tv and ipads ect but I am totally sickened by the pay £209 or live with it also the genius person said if the phone was bought from a branch then she could of tried and got it replaced but because it was threw a provider o2 she cant even tho its still an apple phone!!!

Having the Heavyweight/Lightweight Mixing feature implemented, we don't actually need any heavyweight JInternalFrame. At least the problems <...> are successfully resolved with the fix for 4811096 at JDK7.
